Newly-admitted students and the general public searching for off-campus accomodation should beware of a so-called elderly male "pastor" named Pst. JOEL (08033880085 and 08026231924 ), who happens to be a house agent! He is a FRAUDSTER - a "GOD-fearing" DUPER, whose office is beside the NEPA or PHCN Office at Ojoor, immediately opposite the FirstBank Plc at Ojoor, Ibadan. He recently duped me and the true owner of the house I moved in off EXTRA N8,000 making it a total of N13,000. He defrauded me last week Saturday off OVER N53,000 as rent and agent fee for a SINGLE room instead of the original TOTAL sum of N45,000, and of which his agent fee ought to be N5,000 in that N45,000. He took N13,000 as agent fee after demanding for N15,000 - HALF of my original rent of N30,000.

The real caretakers and owner of the building later found out the truth and sanctioned him. They asked me to go and take my extra N8,000 back but I refused since that is not my major problem; let Nature judge him. He has been calling me with different strange numbers since then but I don't pick such irrelevant calls. Three of my coursemates also told me he had defrauded them and their friends last year. Beware! He is a Yoruba man cum "pastor" with innocent looks, but he is a CRIMINAL!

What about two bedrooms?

I passed through an agent and I must say it was quite expensive considering it is just a SINGLE room. I paid over N52,000 in total as FIRST payment but the subsequent rent will be N30,000. It is very near to school and the facility is manageable. And spacious too with relative moderate power supply. I moved in the same day, alone and loving it.

I got numbers of two or more agents. Getting a house in Ibadan especially if you do not know anyone (like myself when I first came here last year), can be so difficult and frustrating. When you come you will know. My agent fee alone was HALF of the original rent of N30,000; they take N15,000, while a so-called Agreement Form fee is N10,000. This is how they cheat and extort us but back in my State we do not have those IRRELEVANT and Exurberant charges in the name of rent. Acceptance fee is the same for everyone... 20200 if you're paying in bank, 20300 if you're paying online.

Anyone who can generate invoice can pay (usually those whose admission letter is showing.)

Those without admission letter seem not to be able to generate acceptance invoice

Those who scored less than 40% in EPT but were recommended have their admission subject to remedial.

New information today says they will undergo a tutorial for six weeks.

*It is a tutorial on Use if English, PG school will conduct it, it was conducted last year, and they paid 15k, after that, they will set another EPT exam, those who passed will be given privilege to do clearance and be given admission letter*

*The remedial programme will commence next month... It's just a six week programme*
