13 Facts a lady needs to know about her GUY. 1 The way to a his heart is no longer his stomach but the quality of your brain. 2 If your man must be Tall, Dark and Handsome then be ready to be the 2nd best because what you desire, others seek too. 3 If you allow your parents pressure push you into marriage, you may end up a single mom. 4 A man that slaps you before marriage will build a boxing ring after marriage. Guess who his opponent will be – YOU! 5 If you are yet to know any member of his family after 12 months of courtship, then its either he wants you as his baby- mama or back-up plan. 6 If what attracted him to you are your bosoms and the sexy legs you flaunted, the contents of your brain had better keep him, else, there are too many well-rounded and bigger bosoms waiting to snatch him away. 7 Men love sex, at least 90% that I’m aware of. So don’t be surprised when he asks you for sex the first day you visit him. But learn to say NO without feeling guilty. If he insists, leave him and keep looking for a man within the 10% that can love and grow the relationship without necessarily disturbing you for sex. Be careful! 8 If he doesn’t discuss future plans with you in the picture, he just wants a fling. 9 Even when you trust each other, a little jealousy reminds him that you care. 10 Men love a listener. No matter how much you want your opinion to push through, listen to his details and don’t counter them. 11 When you are already living with him before marriage, he won’t propose quickly, you can only become his baby- mama; because he won’t pay for the cow when he's getting the milk free of charge. 12 Don’t waste your years waiting for an unserious man to propose just because his parents love you, you’re going to be married and living with the man, not his parents. 13 When you seek his advice, you make him feel more of a man than he is. |

The story of 2012/2013 best graduating student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Joshua Odutayo, typifies man’s undying strive for scholarship and excellence in the face of all manner of obstacles. First, his father lost his job when he was barely four years old. That was in the early 90s. His father, according to him, was a manager with the defunct National Bank of Nigeria – until its liquidation. Twenty-eight-year-old Joshua says since then, the man never had a stable job and the little money from his mother’s petty trading could hardly cater for the family’s upkeep, let alone settle the children’s tuition. Joshua, who graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.90, in Animal Production and Health, explains that due to the dwindled fortune of the family, he and his siblings had to become breadwinners of some sort. “We hawked all manner of things on Lagos roads,” he notes. Joshua adds, “My life can be described as a testimony, as I never thought of going to the university, let alone graduating as the best student. “I came from a humble background, with my father being a former bank manager with the defunct National Bank of Nigeria. He resigned in early 1990 because of the financial crisis that affected the bank and since then he never had a stable source of income. This affected our education.” Expatiating on the menial jobs he did, soft-spoken Joshua says he had to hawk bar soaps, and worked at construction sites as a labourer, among others. The last of six children says the dwindled fortune of the family made him to attend five different primary schools. He adds, “It was really tough and rough. My parents moved me from one primary school to the other, due to default in payment of my school fees. “I ended up attending five different primary schools – Model Preparatory School; Tiyaogbe Nursery Primary School; Ayewa International Primary School; Bec Primary School, and Iju Station Primary School, all in the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos.” After he struggled and completed his primary education, the lad proceeded to Sonmori Comprehensive High School, Ifako Ijaye, also in Lagos. Having completed his secondary education in 2005 and knowing that the wherewithal for further studies was lacking, Joshua notes, he prepared his mind for a part-time programme. This idea, he adds, could not work as fate altered his academic agenda. According to him, he had travelled with his father to the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (Moor Plantation), Ibadan, to tidy up an arrangement for a part time Ordinary Diploma programme, when a chance meet with a former member of staff of FUNAAB changed the plan. He says, “As I said earlier, I never thought I could attend a conventional university, because I had settled in my mind to study as a part time student. “But as fate would have it, when I got admission as a pre-degree student in 2008, I had saved some money from the odd jobs I was doing and my parents also complemented it with their meagre savings.” Joshua says it was God’s grace and his dedication to studies that saw him through the tough times. He says, “I did not read late into the night. I enjoyed my sleep in the night. My strategy for success was that I made good use of the daytime. “One, I did not miss any lecture. Two, I made sure I read over my notes and revised as many times as possible before sitting for any examination. This really helped me.” Currently on his National Youth Service Corps at the Government Day Secondary School, Panti, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, Joshua says he would have been happier serving in a farm. “I would have loved to serve in a big farm where I would have the opportunity of practising what I have been taught,” he stresses. His dream is to be an academic, who will retire to his farm, just like the former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He says, “I love agriculture and I believe if both the government and the private sector can give it the necessary attention, unemployment and scarcity of food will become history.” Asked whether he had a girlfriend on campus, his response is ‘No.’ “I did not have any girlfriend in the worldly manner but I had many girls as my friends.” On his role model, Joshua says, “I don’t really have any role model. I just want to be myself. But if you insist, I will say Jesus is my role model.” Meanwhile, 81 candidates bagged first class degrees in the combined 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 convocation. Speaking earlier, FUNAAB Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, noted that his 25 months leadership of the school had witnessed infrastructure development and human capacity building. He said, “More than ever before, FUNAAB researchers are winning competitive international research grants for their works. “Within the past two years, over 200 academic and non-academic staff have had opportunities to travel out of the country to attend international conferences and workshops, while many others have participated in local ones.” Promising to take the institution to a greater height, Oyewole said he would continue to provide “a focused, transparent and disciplined leadership.” http://newsnownigeria.com.ng/i-once-hawked-soap-in-lagos-funaab-best-graduating-student/

Loving someone who doesn’t love you is one of the most hopeless feelings in the world because it isn’t something you can control. Then again, this isexactlywhy you need to start the healing process: it’s not your fault, there’s nothing you could have done differently, and the only thing left to do is move on 1. Be Honest With Yourself. How and why you feel about another says a lot about you. How and why the other person feels about us says a lot about them. It is important to let it sink in deeply that the person being loved does not love back. It hurts. Feel it. Allow yourself to grieve. You do not have to know why. Grieving is the beginning of the healing. 2. Focus on the Negative. Though you don’t need to start a crusade to turn the person you care about into a monster, it’s time to start thinking of some bad things to balance out the good ones. Accept the fact that this person will never love you back. Too hurtful? The better. The more you internalize this fact and hard wire it into your system, it allows you to remove any false hope that’s within you, making it easier for you to stop loving this person. 3. Get Rid of Mementos. Make space for a new person in your life by letting these things go. In fact, make a mini ceremony for it. As you go through each item, think of the memory associated with it, then imagine putting that memory in a balloon. As you get rid of the thing, imagine the balloon drifting away never to be seen again. 4. Avoid Memory-Triggers. If you associate the person with a particular song or album, stop listening. If you always used to hang out in a certain spot, stop going. If you have a lot of mutual friends, make a point of hanging out with other people. If you still see each other regularly, stop if at all possible. (This may be difficult at work or school, but you can start by wearing headphones when they’re around, eating lunch somewhere else, walking along new routes, etc.) Don’t surround yourself with mental and emotional reminders; it’s no substitute for having the real thing and will just delay the healing. 5. Find Creative Ways to Stop Dwelling on the Person. While it’s impossible tonotthink about something, itispossible to divert your thoughts elsewhere whenever you start to go down that rabbit hole. Every time those memories bubble up, distract yourself with another thought, activity, or project. Call a friend. Watch a hilarious movie. Build something. Work in the garden and anything that will engage you for long enough to get the person off your mind for a while. The more of a habit you make of not thinking about the person, the easier it will become. 6. Think of everything you’ve been missing. How long have you been in love with this person now? Months? Years? And in that time, how many opportunities for other relationships do you think you have passed up? Remember, the next love of your life isout there right nowwondering when they’ll find you. Don’t waste another moment being unavailable. 7. Get back in the game. Put yourself out there, meet new people, flirt, and remind yourself how great it feels to be a catch. Your confidence surely needs the boost – and in the meantime, you’ll meet interesting new people. In fact, every time someone is better in some way than the person you’ve been chasing – better looking, funnier, smarter, more down to earth – make note of it. It’ll put things into perspective. 8. Don’t be ashamed of having loved and lost. In some cases, it can be impossible to stop loving someone, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Loving another person is a beautiful, selfless act, even if it doesn’t result in a relationship. With time, the hurt will lessen, you will become interested in someone else, and you’ll create new love. If there’s anything the world needs more of, it’s that. 9. Keep Looking for Another Person. It’s good option to keep looking for another person of your match. Sometimes it may take time but you don’t know when fortune takes your turn 10. Good luck |
A Utah police officer who killed his wife, their two children, his mother-in-law and then himself received text messages from his wife just hours earlier threatening to leave him and take their kids and confronting him for raping her, new documents show. A Spanish Fork Police report shows Joshua Boren and his wife exchanged heated texts the night and morning before the January killings. Read4Kids Read4kids.net In them, Kelly Boren confronted her husband about raping her and told him their marriage was over, The Deseret News reported (http:///1oC8lWG ). The couple already had been separated for some time. Joshua Boren's therapist told authorities that Boren drugged his wife and videotaped himself sexually assaulting her on more than one occasion. Kelly Boren learned of the assaults when she discovered the tapes in 2013, said Spanish Fork Police Lt. Matt Johnson. She told a few friends, but she did not report the assaults to police because she didn't want to ruin her husband's law enforcement career, the report says. The night before she was killed, Kelly Boren brought up the alleged sexual assault again, texting the word "rape" to her husband four times, the documents show. "I hate my life because (of) you," she texted. "You killed a part of me." She wrote in another text: "I don't want to live in fear and hate and anger." The next morning, Kelly Boren told her husband she would take the kids, prompting Joshua Boren to reply by text: "Don't involve the kids, they are innocent." The police report says Joshua Boren was sexually abused as a child, struggled with drug addiction as a young man and pornography addiction throughout his life, and had a deep-rooted hatred for his mother. After his father committed suicide when he was 5, Joshua Boren's mother began using drugs and seeing several men, the report states. One of those men allegedly abused Joshua Boren, and he blamed his mother for not protecting him, his sister told police. The therapist told police Boren was like a "3-year-old boy stuck in a big man's body." "Josh was a very troubled individual that felt like he was about to lose his wife and children," police wrote in the report. Joshua Boren had worked for the Lindon Police Department for only three months when the murder- suicide occurred. Before that, he was a Utah County sheriff's deputy for seven years, Johnson said. He used the service weapon he was given for his duties as a Lindon police officer when he killed his family members and himself, authorities said. Toxicology reports from the autopsy show he had no drugs or alcohol in his system. Police said the state medical examiner confirmed what investigators believed: Joshua Boren shot his wife, 32-year-old Kelly Boren; his 55-year-old mother-in-law, Marie King; and his two children, 7- year-old Joshua "Jaden" and 5-year-old Haley, before killing himself. The shooting happened at the family's home in Spanish Fork, a city of about 37,000 located 50 miles south of Salt Lake City. The events stunned the community, as well as friends and family, said Johnson, who added investigators didn't find anybody who suspected Joshua Boren was capable of such an act. Though Joshua Boren wasn't living at the house, friends and family said he still came every morning to get the kids ready for school and preschool, Johnson said. He also picked them up every afternoon. "He was praised as being an excellent father," Johnson said. http://news.yahoo.com/police-officer-killed-family-had-raped-wife-235805261.html
