Foreign Affairs › Re: France, UK To Host Hormuz Talks Friday — Official by slickbak(m): 2:55pm On Apr 14*. Modified: 3:15pm On Apr 14 |
From Trump’s recent moves, the world is ushering a new order when this war is done. The prices of energy will definitely not go back to what it was. Will this be the end of globalization as we know it? Is the world going back to the West vs the East and Africa in limbo? The Europeans have been pondering these things and strategizing carefully in order the be able to take advantage of the change they know is coming. Is there confidence in the petrodollar when Iran can cut off 20% of world supply? Since Russian and other sanctioned countries monies in US dollars were seized in Western banks, the dollar as the world reserve currency broke its trust. Countries started looking for alternative assets to store value because of dollar weaponization. We remain spectators in Africa. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Says He Is Postponing Strikes On Iran Power Plants After ‘Productive’ Talk by slickbak(m): 3:14pm On Mar 23 |
CaseSensitive: But Tehran said they there's been no direct communication with the US nor through an intermediary. Who actually did Trump speak to? Eating up his own words as usual?
Looking at it from a different but connected lens, the market is currently in shambles and I believe Trump’s post about talking to Iran is about stabilising the market for this week at least and avoid a global meltdown. His statement is meant to manipulate the market. He’s going to resume attacks over the weekend when the markets are closed. But that’s not sustainable, how long is he going to keep up with the manipulation? He’s backed into a corner that he can’t get out of.
I'll take this as a win for Iran, it's Cuba and Nigeria that will bear the brunt of United States bruised ego. Buckle up guys, it's about to get interesting. Trump lies a lot. People just find it difficult to accept that a man in his position is a blatant liar. |

QuinQ: You ought direct that to yourself. Trump threatened to "obliterate" Iran if they didnt open Hormuz within 48hrs. Less than 24hrs later the headline is: "Iran Opens Strait Of Hormuz" yet you're still carping crap! If you’re dependent on this topic for information about the war, then you should not be talking about it with me. What is ‘carping crap’? Speak without showing you’re classless. |

UrVillageChief: Okay, I've heard you, you are not praising Iran but warn those who are praising them now. Since this is a two-fighting case, nobody should disturb our hearing with "he's killing babies and women" chants when the chips are down since that's what they know how to do best😂😂 US bomb no dey ever hit armed men, na only woman and children e dey always hit. I don’t have strength to convince anyone. I just enjoy the discourse with sharp minds. Save your strength o, them go waste am. The truth is that USA will beat whom ever they choose, it will only take time and wider implications. |

emeraldlife: 104miles (apx) is no small distance. And the Iranians are good at asymmetrical warfare. You are talking about Iranians IRGC here. They are used to every corners of this strait. Remember, they’ve been planning for this for more than 40yrs. So, any Navy, particularly the US Navy trying to protect this route must put this into consideration..
I fully support Israel and the US. You seem more aware of the IRGC’s capabilities than Trump. When he speaks, I know he thinks this is a movie. I still maintain that it is a small distance compared to Trumps claims of all round superiority. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Deploys 5,000 Troops To Re-open Strait Of Hormuz by slickbak(m): 10:32am On Mar 14 |
valentineuwakwe: You call that strait small..abeg open your geography book to see n read about it's importance. Iran should never be allowed to possess nukes dats the game plan If I did not know about it, I will not be commenting. Is a strait approximately 33km not small for 5000 men when Trump claims Iran has no navy? Before this war didn’t Trump claim to have taken away their nuclear capabilities through a bombing campaign? So which nukes again? The goalpost keeps shifting and it is giving Iraq vibes all over again. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Deploys 5,000 Troops To Re-open Strait Of Hormuz by slickbak(m): 10:27am On Mar 14 |
UrVillageChief: It's definitely going to take time. Terrorism/guerilla warfare is about the hardest thing there is. Iran should man up and face the US heads on like honorable men instead of holding the world at ransom using the strait. Or isn't this how terrorists operate? It's the US they are fighting but it's the strait of hormuz that they are terrorizing, hurting the whole world in the process and they don't even mind, now imagine nukes in the hands of such individuals? Now, to y'all praising Iran, please when the chips are down, I don't want to hear "they are killing babies and women" o since that's your usual anthem when you start finding out🤣🤣🤣 Where is the praise for Iran. You don’t need to paint my statement as glorification of Iran just because you want to glorify the US. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Deploys 5,000 Troops To Re-open Strait Of Hormuz by slickbak(m): 9:03am On Mar 14 |
Trump is too egotistical. After all the sweet mouth of finishing Iranian navy and their capabilities, why do you still need 5k troops for that small strait?
