Nairaland General › Re: Customer Sues Opay, Says Account Restriction Led To Father’s Death by slickbak(m): 7:29pm On Feb 12 |
OlujobaSamuel: I can attest to this. I had to threaten them to report to CBN before they did the needful on my case. I have 2 Opay account, 1 is active while I rarely used the other. I have an habit of checking all my inactive bank account once in a while to know their status. On this fateful day, I logged into the inactive Opay account, saw a deposit of 100k, but reduced to #99,850 due to bank commission #100 and stamp duty charges #50, with the account having a restriction. Checking for the sender details, it's an unknown sender, checked the reason for restriction, it's because the fund was flagged due to report from the sender. I clicked of the reversal process, but I couldn't submit it because the available fund is now less than the amount received due to the charges. That's how the back and forth with customer support started, which lasted for about 2wks. I was like, why would you placed an account on DND for 2months for erroneous transfer without reaching out to the account holder since he needs to grant an approval for reversal. Okay, I'm interested in refunding the fund, can you pls reverse it back, they said no, I have to pay the #150 shortage, I was like why do I have to bear responsibility for the sender error or company deduction. We dragged it continuously for days, then I had to accuse them of stealing customers fund and that's the way they must have been doing to other customers. I noted the name of the last support staff I spoke with, told her I was going to report to CBN officially, she called in her supervisor to attend to me, I noted her own name to and repeated the same line, immediately after the call, one of them sent #150 to my account and I successfully submitted the reversal request. This process took me 2wks and few days. 👏🏿 |

Education › Re: Should I Travel To UK For Msc Or Start A Business In Nigeria? by slickbak(m): 11:40am On Feb 09 |
Ebubu6: the problem with that 22million naira is that if you're not well-trained in business, since you are Igbo, if you didn't do "igba boy", learn under a successful business master, for some years, then its a huge risk because the business may fail. If you don't have a successful coach in the line of business you're choosing who has accepted to mentor you the business may fail because as you are learning the ropes and making mistakes, you may be losing money and by the time you've fully learnt the ropes, the money may be depleted to a level you need to borrow or sell land again to restock enough and make impact. Moreso because Nigerians are poorer now and due to inflation, can not afford most things they use to afford before. Very high inflation so many people can't afford things so make very good inquiry on what is selling under this inflation economy before you key into it. Otherwise if you're afraid of all these risks and didn't grow up in a business background, my brother carry the money and japa. If you exhaust it in UK, if you are hardworking you can gain back the money by buying another land in another remote area, or investing in other things that will increase your savings earned from UK hustle, at least you'll be in environment where if you blow the money, you have hope of remaking it in no distant time. Annoying thing with Nigeria is if you blow any huge money, e fit take you 10 years or more to remake it back legitimately unless you're into fraud or politics or hard drug sales. So in otherwords it is very risky to lose in business in Nigeria because there is no support or another means of making it back. Still, some people still succeed in business while some others lose. The economy is just so messed up but some people still make it in the economy, while others don't. Its your choice to make. If you're willing to go to UK, be ready to work and work very very hard . And if you're ready to stay in Naija, be ready to endure if the money goes down cause another opportunity go hard. Guyyy you confam!! |

obaidan: The 100k has nothing to do with politics, that is a xmas bonus paid into the account of every employee paid by Rivers State Government. If they dont want, it is their problem. they should return it . It is just about 20 of them out of how many employees of the government that got the money, who get time to bribe them. If they have balls they should start the nonsesne impeachment threat and see what will happen to them. The write up says the monies were paid to their personal accounts not salary account. It was not referred to as a bribe either. Fubara is inexperienced but courageous as one of my brothers stated. |

Dogalmighty17: Nigeria is a disgrace. Where will you see the US army making its men available to guard any musician? Which Nigerian army commander made his men available to guard an ordinary musician? What kind of nonsense is this?
Psquare left Jos in bad blood. They really don't have positive vibes in that city. The backup dancers they started with that they used and dumped, their Alma Mata, St. Murumba College Jos which was very instrumental in making its hall available for psquare to shoot their early videos free of charge (I should know, I was there as a student), not once have psquare remembered the school that was there for them. 2face still visits MSG in Makurdi and relates very well with the students.
Psquare are users essentially. They will find Jos a cold indifferent embrace. I still have “J town sellout” by Law Breakers. P Square claimed to be Lagos boys when it was sweet. |
