Kiki and I have been friends for longer than I care to remember. To sustain this bond of friendship, we came up with three laid down conditions. First is to have no secrets, second is never lend money to each other and finally, no dating/making out with or crushing on ex boyfriends. So, I know it seems silly but we just wanted to be friends for life though now I’m not so sure anymore because i faulted one of our three conditions. Fast forward to Flash Fm while on my one year of national service, I was sent to understudy this amazing OAP and found out that he was the same guy Kiki had a thing with in our final year though I paid him little attention then because I was always off to read or do something. Well the one thing i did notice was that he’s gorgeous and still is. Perfectly toned muscles, strong arms, and beautiful pink lips, eyes that I could drown in, all of these and I’m already thinking about what we could do with a few hours behind a locked door.

Ife Cole but christened Lovey by everyone else didn’t realise we had a mutual friend until he came across Kiki’s picture on my phone while surfing my gallery and this got us talking more than we first did. Some days after work began in earnest, we had just wrapped us our program and were preparing to leave when power was seized for a bit. While yet waiting for power to be restored, I felt a soft tentative touch on my face and then a bolder stroke across my arm. I would have sworn the room began to sway because my heartbeat became erratic and when he reached out to pull me closer, I went willingly and unwittingly wrapped my arms around his neck earnestly awaiting the kiss I knew he would soon give.

It wasn’t long in coming, first a soft pressure and almost immediately he was demanding more, pushing his tongue in and seeking mine. His kiss left me feverish with desire and I realised I was ready to have sex with a stranger just because I could see the desire also in his eyes. When he pulled off my blazer, I let him. My nipples were already puckered and seeking attention and could be seen through camisole. Just then he moved his attention from my lips to my neck and nuzzled there, briefly triggering a wave of desire when his lips touched the magic spot behind my ear, heat was beginning to pool at that place down there. I wanted more and was ready to say so when power was restored. The glare brought to focus the level of disarray our desire had brought, not stopping to take it all in properly, I gathered up my things and fled. At home I kept scolding myself about letting it happen and wondering why he kissed me in the first place.

The week that followed proved to be a demanding one emotionally but I couldn’t run because I had to work. It was struggle to keep my eyes off him and stop remembering, so the day he asked to talk to me I listened and finally started dating him officially. Kiki could read me and immediately noticed the difference in me. She caught me smiling at nothing several times and probed. I even changed my passwords just so she won’t access my devices and stumble on his photographs. I became too careful owing to our ‘best friend rules’.

It’s been six months now since we began dating and my birthday was fast approaching, my dilemma was now how to avoid the inevitable meeting of Ife and Kiki. At the point where I had given up the hope of salvaging my friendship, Kiki called to say she had an important trip scheduled for that weekend with her boss and colleagues. It was a huge relieve as I had respite for a while longer. On the day, he arrived earlier than I expected looking like a beautifully wrapped chocolate. He had a cake for me but took me first to see a movie at the cinema before coming back to snuggle. Lovey loves to have sex and today is no different. As I bend over to take off my sandals, he grabs me from behind and starts touching me in places where he knows I love to be touched. It seemed like I was hallucinating about someone fiddling with my door until Kiki burst into my room unannounced.

My spare keys were in her possession and she always had access but today i regret that action sorely and today as I judge Kiki’s reaction to the sight of Lovey in his briefs stained with lipstick marks, I realise I had probably lost my best friend forever. Meanwhile, Ife is excited to see her again. She stormed out of the room before I could reach her and boarded a cab almost immediately. I explained the situation to Lovey and all he did was laugh and assure me that she’ll come around. Now I'm stuck, should i go after my friend and correct the wrong or stick to my new love?

Anastasia got the mail the following morning, she was up late the previous night answering questions her grandma asked about christian and she had a nice time cooking up lies just to escape to her room, she loves her grandma alot but she can be exhausting atimes.

She saw the mail and chuckled, the heir of Bloom innovative is truly brilliant, the plan he sent was so detailed that she found no fault. She replied the mail with an okay and headed downstairs for breakfast.

The kitchen was filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread and bacon with coffee,"good morning grandma".

"Good morning dear, how was your night?,"her grandma chirps

Anastasia pours herself a cup of coffee and savors the aroma," it was short since you hounded me with question about Chris deep into the night but it was splendid".

Martha blushed guiltily and smiled,"curiosity got the best of me but I'm glad you like him and will date him".

Anastasia wink at her grandmother, she jumped up immediately after breakfast and ran upstairs to get ready to meet Chris, unconsciously she picked out her best summer attire and wondered why she did so, since she has no need to impress Chris, so she went with a simple white short, a black v-neck revealing cleavage top and a comfortable Adidas sneakers. She put up her hair in a messy bun to reveal her long neck, she picked up her mobile phone and car keys and headed out to avoid being late since Chris is a very busy man.

Chris was waiting for Anastasia again, the woman seem to have a thing against punctuality, he picked up his coffee to take a sip when she strode in, his loin tightened at the sight of her beautiful long exposed legs, he would love to feel those legs wrapped around him, he scowled when he realised the direction his thought took.

Anastasia sat opposite christian and took a moment to admire how handsome he looked in the white shirt and blue jeans he wore, the man is breathtaking no doubt but she is not gonna be seduced.

They discussed the plan he came up with and how to carry it out convincingly without the grandparents finding out, they parted ways after an hour.

She was lazying around at home a week later when Chris called her to pack a few things because he is on his way to pick her up, puzzled Anastasia quickly stuffed few clothes and necessities in a bag, dressed up in a short pink gown and gladiator sandal.
She was waiting for him outside when he drove his red Ferrari into the driveway, his golden hair was ruffled by the wind but he looked good as usual.

She approached his car and asked the reason for the sudden change of plan and he replied,"grandpa asked me to take you on my business trip, your grandma told him you were bored at home so i had no choice. Let's just go, you will have fun while i work.

Anastasia rolled her eyes but got into the car anyway, they drove to the airport in no time, his private jet was waiting in the hanger. she entered the cockpit trying hard to contain her excitement, her first time on a private Jet and she would make sure she enjoys every bit of it.

Chris smiled when he saw her giggle like a little girl and he was glad for a moment that his grandfather forced him to take her along.

When they landed in Beijing china several hours later, Anastasia was fast asleep, she looked so innocent that Chris couldn't bring himself to wake her up so he sat there and stared at her arched eyebrow, straight pointed nose, small kissable pouty lips.

She opened her eyes and saw him looking at her, she jerked up, raked her fingers through her tousled hair nervously.

Chris noticed her discomfort and the discomfort in his loin, he wants this woman but wants nothing to do with her or it will be trouble,"time to go", he said with a smile and escorts her off the plane into the waiting car.

They didn't say a word to one another till they got to the hotel, his grandfather seemed to have bribed his secretary to reserve a suit room for them, he even made sure they won't be able to get another room so they end up in a room together against their will, the grandparents won this time.

Luckily enough the bed was big enough for three people so Anastasia divided it with pillows, Chris grinned,"like pillows can keep out a Hot man,"he thought but he chastised himself for having that thought in the first place.

Anastasia watched as Chris rushed out for his business meeting and sighed, the man is a walking temptation, she thought he was gonna kiss her on the plane for a minute,"she thought.

She shook the thought of Chris away, brought out her laptop and googled the interesting places in Beijing, thank God she took mandarin classes two years ago so she could communicate with her Chinese fans. She freshened up with slight make up and twisted her hair into a messy bun, she smiled at the perfection she saw in the mirror.

She spent the day at tourist centers alone and had the best time of her life. She only retired to the hotel when the sunset and decided to take a quick shower before chris returned.

Chris entered the hotel room, tired and starved. The meeting took longer than he had anticipated, he was about to head into the shower when he heard the water running so he sat on the edge of the bed and waited for her to finish.

Anastasia scowled when she noticed the absence of towels in the bathroom, they must have forgotten to put some,"well Chris is not back, i might as well ring for one,"she thought and walked in naked into the room and there was Chris on the bed with a look of disbelief.

She hurled out a scream,ran towards the duvet on the bed lost her balance and fell naked into his arms, time stopped and his arm tightened around her.

Her skin was like the finest silk, her wet golden hair smelled so good and she just fit perfectly in his arms, he wants to remove his clothes and make love to her wet cool skin with his burning lips,"he thought to himself.

The sudden ring of the telephone snapped them out of their trance, Anastasia wrapped herself up in a haste while chris attended to the phone.

She was fully clothed by the time he finished with the phone but the awkward silence was a reminder of what took place few minutes ago.

"That was the manager, he called to notify us of dinner so let me take a quick shower so we can head to the restaurant,"he said and strode into the bathroom.

An image of Chris naked in the bathroom popped up in her mind and she blushed so hard she felt her color rise.

She dried her hair and dabbed on a little makeup to cover her burning cheek, she was ready when he emerged and they were soon on their way to dinner. They ate in silence, only the munching sound could be heard.

Chris broke the silence after their meal and soon they were engaged in a deep conversation. They asked each other personal questions and laughed earnestly at each other's jokes.

Music flowed out when someone opened the door to the ballroom, the dancer in Anastasia jumped out as she dragged Chris into the room with the excuse of working out the extra calories they had just ingested.

They were both amazing dancers and they matched each other's steps perfectly, time seemed to slow down and they forgot everything else and danced like they were the last two on earth.

She looked so magical, like a dance gypsy seducing the moon god, he was so enraptured that he didn't want the moment to cease.

When the music stopped, they stood still in one another's embrace, staring at each other with heaving chests.

His mouth swooped down, seizing her lips with raw, devastating hunger and ruthless insistence.

His lips were warm and exquisitely gentle at first, tasting and shaping hers. And then they slowly parted, and his tongue began to explore her mouth with a languorous hunger that drove Anastasia mad with pleasure.

His arms slid around her waist from behind, drawing her rigid form against his, With his other hand brushing away her heavy silken hair, exposing her neck. Anastasia's breathing became shallow and rapid as his lips touched her nape, then tantalizingly towards her ear, while his hand began moving lazily down her spine, sliding downward.

"Chris", Anastasia protested after realizing they were still on the dance floor.

His loin was on fire for this sun goddess, he took her wrist and dragged her out of the ballroom and into the elevator, his mouth covered hers again immediately the door slid shut, moving and probing in a kiss that was lazily coaxing, yet breathtakingly insistent. Anastasia tried desperately to hold on to her fleeing sanity, but the moment his tongue slid against her lips she lost the battle.

With a smothered moan, she leaned into him and let him part her lips. His response was instantaneous, his arms tightened around her, imprisoning her against his chest while his mouth opened hungrily, his tongue plunging into her mouth stroking against hers. Something exploded inside Anastasia, her body arched against his, and her hand lifted compulsively to caress his neck and slide through the soft hair at his nape as she eagerly responded to his hungry mouth.

By the time Chris finally lifted his head Anastasia felt branded by that kiss, permanently marked as his possession.

They stood in the elevator staring at each other with one thing on their minds," this sexual attraction will be nothing but trouble"

Love and marriage is beautiful, but not to christian who enjoys his freedom as a bachelor or to Anastasia who was traumatized by her parent's marriage, these two vowed to stay single until their grandparents intervened.

Christian bloom is the most eligible bachelor and the heir to bloom innovative, a company at the cutting edge of technology. He told his parents he had no interest in marriage when he turned 20 but they assumed he would eventually meet someone special like they found one another and he would change his mind but till they died in a car accident 10 years later, he still didn't change his mind.

Christian's grandpa had been waited long enough for his grandson to change his mind since the demise of his son and daughter in-law five years ago but he seem to be content with his life which doesn't sit well with him, so he came up with the darnest plan to force his grandson.

He waited patiently in his study for his grandson to show up because he know he would once he discovers what he had planned, and right on queue christian stormed into the room ragging like an agitated bull, what was that grandpa? You plan to donate the family wealth and leave me without a penny?,"he asked

"Yes Chris, its mine and I plan to do as I please with it but if you do get married then I might just change my mind,"he said mischievously happy he got his head strong grandson's attention.

"Seriously grandpa? I won't dance to your tune so do as you please," Christian replied as he stormed out again.

Robert Bloom knew he had to do more to get christian to get married but right now he had a dinner party to attend, and he was running late.

Anastasia knows she is beautiful and she isn't bothered when people stop and stare at her, her long golden hair like a sun goddess and blue summer sky eyes with long limbs like a model, her 5 ft 9 height needs no heels and yet her walk is still graceful.

She walked into her grandparents house, she loves her grandparents a lot not because they raised her but her own parents caused her nothing but pain and her grandparents's house was her solace.

She beamed when she saw her sweet grandmother setting the table, "granny how are you?" She hugged her tight.

"Ana dear, how are you? I didn't know you will be coming for the anniversary, thought you were in Milan", her grandma hounded her with questions.

"How can I miss my grandparent's marriage anniversary grandma, moreover i miss you so much i couldn't wait to come over,"she said gleefully.

"Come darling, your grandpa will soon be down, the party is about to begin so go freshen up,"

Anastasia went to her old room where she stayed after her parents divorce, she loved it here, no fights or arguments unlike her parents house where they were always at each others throats, she often wondered why they got married or had her if they were both that miserable. She would never get married, so no child would suffer like she did, she thought to herself.

She freshened up like granny requested and felt truly refreshed, she dabbed on a little makeup since it was an indoor party, her favorite scent slightly behind her ears and threw on a summer gown and strap sandals and she was all set.

She slowly descended the stairs gracefully like a queen, she heard voices in the dinning room and knew her grandparents invited another guest, she walked in and saw a handsome old man in his late 70s seated beside her grandfather, he looks aristocratic despite his age and he smiled when he saw her,"you must Anastasia, you're just as beautiful as they said".

Puzzled Anastasia stared at her grandparents demanding to be introduced to the gentleman they've been loading with information about her.

"This is 'Mr Bloom' Anastasia, a very old friend of mine, you met him when you were a baby but that was years ago", her grandpa said.

"Nice to meet you Mr Bloom", Anastasia said eyeing the old man wondering where she had seen him before.

"We met when you were a cute bundle of joy at your christening Anastasia but building and running a huge company had deprived me of seeing you till now", he responded.

"You own bloom innovative,"Anastasia gasped, happy and flustered to be in the presence of a very important personality.

"Yes I do dear but its being run by my grandson right now so i get the chance to do what I have been too busy to do,"he answered with a smile, already liking this nice pretty girl.

"Now now lets eat before the food gets cold, we can do this later,"grandma scolded gently.

After dinner the elderly went to the patio while Anastasia ran upstairs to reply a mail. John, Anastasia's grandfather saw Robert's expression and knew something was bothering the great Bloom which is quiet unusual because he seemed to always have everything under control "What bothers the great Bloom", he joked hoping it might help.

"Christian refused to settle down and I am getting older by the day, death might come and he will be all alone and i do not want that so I took a drastic step to force him but i'm afraid he might hate me for doing what's best for him,"he answered devastated

"I understand my friend, Anastasia is giving us the same headache and yet she insists on being single for life so you're not alone", he replied.

"This is just perfect,"Martha Anastasia's grandma said gleefully looking like she found a lasting solution to the problem of both men.

The two men both raised an eyebrow in question waiting patiently for the solution.

"Anastasia and christian who doesn't believe in marriage will be the perfect match, we should match make them and all will be well".

It was like a light bulb went off in their heads, as they smiled loving the plan that will not only get their grandchildren married but also unite their families.

"But do you think we can get them to see one another because christian is so head strong and stubborn like his father,"Robert asked.

"It won't be easy but we have to do what it takes to make sure this plan works," Martha replied.

They heard footsteps and they knew Anastasia was on her way back so they changed the subject.

"Sorry I took so long," Anastasia apologized, my manager just mailed my schedule and i have the whole month to myself", she concluded gleefully, so what did I miss? She asked.

Robert was just telling us about his handsome grandson and how reliable and efficient he is,"john answered.

Anastasia smiled,"you must be so proud of him Mr Bloom.

"Call me Robert dear and enough about Chris tell me about you,"he replied.

"I'm sure you must have heard from my grandparents, i'm a webtoon writer and i also pick up photography when i'm done with a project and right now I am done with book tours, fan meetings and all, i have the month to myself.

"So you will be in town till the end of the month?", Robert questioned

Anastasia replied with a nod but missed the look the three elders gave one another, the dinner party came to an end and they saw Robert Bloom to his car and watched his chauffeur drove off.

Anastasia came down the stairs the next morning and saw her grandparents waiting for her with glum expression, wondering what happened to the beaming couple of last night so she questioned them", what's wrong?

"We have something to disclose dear so please have your seat", Martha said with a long face.

Fear gripped Anastasia because she knew her grandparents won't be like this except it's serious so she sat gingerly.

"We've been keeping something from you for a while but we feel guilty, so we've decided to come clean today.

We discovered three years ago that your grandma has a bad heart, the doctor warned against surgery but she was put on medications but the last check up came out negative, she has so little time".

Anastasia could barely hold her tears as she threw herself into her grandparents arms, she knew they were old but she never imagined her life without them especially her grandma, are you sure there is nothing that could be done? I could contact my manager to find the best doctor", she asked.

"All will be fine darling, death is not unusual at my age, I'm just worried about leaving you alone, i will be happy if you bring home a young man", Martha said obviously trying to prick at Anastasia's conscience.

Anastasia totally oblivious to their plan knew she has no young man to present since she doesn't take anybody serious, "i'm sorry grams but that's not gonna happen except you produce one,"she joked trying to lighten the mood.

"Then you can go out with Robert's grandson and if things can happen between you two", her grandpa suggested.

Anastasia stare at them knowing fully well she was cornered so she tried another strategy", how are you sure he is single?.

"Oh! he is dear, don't worry dear, just meet him, it will make us very happy if you do", he said and Anastasia just had to agree.

Christian bloom waited for the blind date, he lost the battle and he had to do as his grandfather wanted against his will, he impatiently checked the Rolex watch on his wrist again and grimace, the amazing girl that left a huge impression on his grandfather enough to be dragged down to the restaurant tonight was beyond late and he doesn't like to be kept waiting.

He was still contemplating taking his leave when he saw a tall blonde enter the restaurant, drop dead gorgeous with rich long wavey hair, eyes like the deep mysterious sea and legs that goes on forever. The little black dress she wore seem like a second skin, all the male turned to stare at the beautiful woman who smelled like a lush summer garden.

She scanned around and when she saw him seated close to the balcony she walked towards him like an experienced model on her black and silver stilettos.

"You must be christian? You're a replica of your grandpa just younger", she said and took a seat without an invitation.

Christian swore, his grandpa didn't tell him his blind date is a goddess, he would have come prepared but he shrugged and composed himself, it's not like he hasn't dated women more prettier than she is.

"Yes i am and i guess you're Anastasia,"he asked with a smug smile trying to suppress his heightened libido.

"Then let's get down to business so I can leave", she said and paused for the waiter who came to take their order and she continued when he left", i have no intention of getting married, my being here is just a courtesy and to make my dying grandma happy".

Christian sniffles a laugh and clears his throat", i was forced down here by my grandfather who seems to think i would be miserable when he dies so he is trying to find his replacement but i'm glad we are both in sync", he stood up and waved for the check", since we are both done, let's take our leave.

Anastasia scowled at him and waved him back to his seat, "do you think it will be easy to get them off our backs? No it won't so let's come up with a convincing plan", she said.

"You're right though,"christian frowned and scratch his head", i heard you will be in town for a month"

"Yes I will be and they will keep pestering me to go on dates with you", she sighed.

"Then let's date for a month, we will tell them things didn't work out", he suggested.

"Great idea, at least grams will nag at me less,"she replied with a smile", but we will have to play the part well or they will figure out that its all charades".

Christian stood up with a smile,"let me have your email so I can mail the whole plan to you", he said.

They exchanged contacts and walked out of the restaurants with a smile on their faces, glad they will play a trick on their tricky grandparents but if only they knew they were actually following the course of destiny....

Blue, in a dark ironical nod to her name, lived in a dark, scary world. A result of the curse passed down from generations of first daughters in her family. She is able to see the greed and resentments within humans in the shape of demons hanging around them. She was only ten the first time she saw these resentment demons around her mother; a consequence of Blue's father leaving his wife for his young secretary after 15 years of marriage.

At first she could just about handle the whole scary experience, but then the demon only grew larger. Blue’s mother regretted and resented all the things in her life including Blue's existence and one unfortunate day she drove off a cliff leaving behind a scared 12 years old Blue.

Blue moved in with her dad and his new wife after her mom's demise. Her refusal to go outdoors because of the human demons was a cause of concern for her father who could not help recalling a sister that was also prone to seeing the unexplainable and the macabre. Blue’s father had believed his sister was crazy till she committed suicide and his mom's admonitions never to have a daughter had seemed the ramblings of a old and failing mind at the time but the horror in his daughter's eyes every time she looked at someone confirmed his fear; his daughter can see something no human can and should see and it scares her.

Blue's father took her to see a therapist one fateful day. He left her there and rushed home to pick up some important documents he forgot, only to find his wife and 30 years old neighbour in his bed. Blue kept waiting for her dad to come pick her up till 6 pm late in the evening to no avail. She finally had to head home on her own and when she got there and opened the door she saw her father with bloody hands and a young hate demon standing next to him.
Beside herself with shock and horror, she gasped and ran up the stairs, the images of the scene she just witnessed playing in her mind’s eyes. Grisly mental images of her new-found stepmom naked in bed, dead along with the brutally-butchered next door neighbour.

In a state of panic and confusion, she ran back down the stairs and nearly collapsed at the humongous size the demon had grown into within the few seconds of her sojourn upstairs. She cautiously moved closer to her father pondering what she would say to calm him down and make the growing demon vanish. She patted her father on the head and said, 'it’s not your fault, dad, but you have to stop hating her, him, yourself, everything and call the police or the demon will only feed more on your hate, so please I really don't want to lose another parent”.

Thankfully, her warm and soothing words penetrated her father's heart, he dropped the kitchen knife he was holding and burst into tears saying how he doesn't know what came over him but he just had the urge to kill both of them.

The police came and took away her dad, he was sentenced to 30 years behind bars and she was consequently sent to an Orphanage. After some years she finally graduated college, secured employment and obtained her own apartment. Fear made her quit her job eventually and put her talent as a webtoon writer to work and as a result the amount of time she spent directly interacting with people grew lesser and lesser still. Blue does not have friends neither does she have a any meaningful relationship with her neighbours, the only person she talks to once in a while is her editor who gave her a cat. She pays her incarcerated dad a visit once a month and is always cautious to avoid directly looking at other inmates but she is happy enough.

There are no demons around her father despite how dreadful it is in there.

Life was good with Blue having to avoid the demons the hate, greed and resentment humans created but just as she was just getting use to an existence of solitude, he came into her dark gloomy world and turned everything upside down but it wasn't a normal love story in movies.

Grayson sipped his tea and watched as the agitated woman sitting nearby fidgeted. She looked normal to everybody else except him, he saw her greed in plain sight and the greed demon seemed non-too happy about him being present, since he could only be there for one reason; destroy the greed before it consumes the nameless beautiful woman. Grayson is a descendant of a long line of Priests but unlike the conventional priest that preach the word of God standing behind a pulpit, his kind vanquish the darkness the mind of humans create and the greed behind the woman already has a will of its own and must be stopped or its type will eventually destroy the world.

The woman picked up her phone and dialled a number and said into the receiver, 'if you don't come here with my request right now, it will be the end and I mean it’ in a malevolent tone and ended the call. After a while she stood and walked away in anger, he immediately followed closely to avoid losing her among the crowd. A young woman with a hood pulled over her face crashed into him and made him lose sight of his prey for a second. He muttered a curse under his breath and rushed off but the woman and the greed demon were long gone.

He looked around and saw the reason he lost his target hurrying off and he went after her before she could disappear. 'Hey you could at least say sorry for walking into’, he said when he eventually caught up with her.

Blue cautiously removed her hood to respond to her attacker's verbal assault and braced herself for the expected sight of a demon but she was surprised that the tall, handsome brown hair and brown eyes hunk has no demon around him. Grayson grew impatient, 'ain't you gonna apologize or you are just gonna ogle me all day, 'he asked.

The staring competition was about to start when their attention was shifted from one another to the middle-aged man on the side walk. Blue's eyes widened in terror and Grayson muttered a curse as the man was surrounded by three demons, hate, resentment and the most terrifying one the black demon that kills the innocent. Grayson followed the man as he crossed the road and entered an Elementary school close by while Blue immediately pull her hood over her head and ran in the opposite direction.
