PoliticsRe: This Is Why Atiku/obi Ticket Makes Sense For ADC In 2027 Election by Slimani(op): 2:39pm On Jul 04, 2025
IGBOPROMISE1:
You’re correct in your claim concerning Tinubu and Wikes’ remorseless rigging prowess….which at the moment is second to none in Nigeria! But your next argument concerning Atiku and Obi joining their potential votes to defeat Tinubu/APC is based on a flawed premise primarily because of your initial argument concerning Tinubu and Wike! Just know that in any presidential election controlled by Tinubu….or even Buhari before him, votes don’t count! There’s a reason why the assertion rigging with impunity has become a reoccurring feature in recent times in Nigeria when elections are being discussed!
You are right. There will be massive rigging and disenfranchisement of voters in 2027. That is more reason why Obi doesn't have to do this on his own.

He needs to partner with battle-tested political juggernauts who know the system and can match the antics of the APC. Fire for fire.

If the masses back the Atiku/Obi coalition, the pressure will be too much on the APC and their 'mago mago' will be reduced to the barest minimum.

And you calling Atiku a featherweight is proof that you are either a troll or a naive kid in the matter of politics in Nigeria.

During the ADC coalition launch, Atiku alone was able to pull men of caliber from various political parties that we'll consider big wigs in Nigerian politics today. Many other politicians would struggle to do that.

Buhari struggled to beat Atiku/Obi in 2019. Till this day, some even argue that the election was rigged to favor the incumbent.

Plus, Buhari still had that Northern sentiment and clout despite failing expectations.

You are an APC supporter and you'll be happy if Obi doesn't run with Atiku. For you, it's better if both split their votes.

Because 2 heads are better than one. Atiku/Obi ticket is better than Obi alone or Atiku alone. 12 million guaranteed votes is better than 6 million votes.
PoliticsThis Is Why Atiku/obi Ticket Makes Sense For ADC In 2027 Election by Slimani(op): 10:43am On Jul 04, 2025
There is no gain saying that within the ADC coalition group, Peter Obi is the most qualified as the presidential candidate.

I'm a Peter Obi supporter and I wish that he becomes president some day.

However, in an actual presidential contest, Peter Obi would struggle to win Bola Tinubu, not because he cannot actually win, but because there are many institutional, corrupt and sentimental road blocks that are already in place to stop him.

Looking back at the last election, there are 4 top contestants who have strong followership.

- Bola Tinubu: 8.7 million votes
- Atiku Abubakar: 6.9 million votes
- Peter Obi: 6.1 million votes
- Rabiu Kwankwaso: 1.4 million votes

President Tinubu being smart, wants to bring one of the top 4 contestants in the last elections to become his vice. And he doesn't mind to risk losing Shettima and the support of the North East.

President Tinubu is not stupid to make such moves.

All Tinubu wants to do is add Kwankwaso's guaranteed 1.4million votes to his 8.7 million votes, then get his men from the south south to rig him in.

Tinubu + Kwankwaso = 10.1 million votes

If he gets 3 million rigged votes from the South South and 3 million rigged votes from middle belt, including Wike's potential rigging in Abuja, there is nothing stopping him from becoming president again with over 16 million votes.

Now, to the Peter Obi matter.

Is it not common sense for Peter Obi to try to add Atiku Abubakar's 6.4 million votes to his 6.1 million votes?

Atiku + Peter Obi = 12.5 million votes

That is guaranteed votes of over 12 million votes, higher than what Tinubu could get with his alliance with Kwankwaso, plus Atiku's Northern sentiment might help reduce Kwankwaso's influence and stop Tinubu's rigging machinery in the North.

If Peter Obi runs with Atiku, there's every possibility that together, they could get over 15 million votes. That number would be very hard to rig against.

Now, nothing stops Peter Obi from running again as a Presidential candidate. He could partner with an influential figure in the north, such as El-rufai, Bala Mohammed, or even Kwankwaso if he can convince him.

He could even get emotional votes from the South and from those who believe that the South should complete their 8 years tenure.

However, Peter Obi without Atiku makes it very easy for Tinubu and the APC to rig the elections.

Peter Obi (without) Atiku = 6.1 million votes

If the ADC coalition members back Obi and support him with their structure, Obi might perform better than last time, but Tinubu would easily have his way due to the aforementioned institutional roadblocks and the North not viewing Peter Obi as their own.

President Tinubu would find a way to get re-elected.

Peter Obi as presidential candidate would make his Obidient and southern supporters happy, but he wouldn't win. The powers that be would not let him, and he wouldn't have enough of the required firepower to wrestle power from the desperate APC in 2027.

Peter Obi running as presidential candidate would even make the APC happy. They would easily rig him out and tell him to go to court again.

And there is every chance that if Peter Obi wants to run as a presidential candidate, he would have to leave the ADC coalition, which would then give Atiku their ticket, resulting in the same split votes like in the 2023 election.

This is not the time for emotions or sentiments. This is a war, and President Tinubu and his goons like Nyesome Wike know this. That is why they are not giving the opposition any room to thrive. They are attacking and infiltrating the opposition from all angles.

Now, Peter Obi has to make a choice.

A choice to please a few of his emotional supporters and run with the naive narrative of a single-term southern President, which is almost guaranteed to make him lose the elections again.

Or a choice to work with empirical strategies and join those who are battle-tested and ready to wrestle power from the incumbent.

Let's stop deceiving ourselves. No politician is a saint, and Nigeria doesn't need a saint as a president. If the current Nigeria is not what we want, then the priority is to first change the person there, then we start the conversation of how to move forward.

It doesn't matter if the president comes from the North, South, East or West. Nigeria needs a president that is responsive and empathetic to the needs of the populace. Nigeria needs a president that knows that he can be removed if he doesn't perform well.

I'm of the opinion that the current president is not HIM and the best chance of Nigeria getting a new president is a coalition ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

I drop my pen.

@vicreatives, this is a great business idea and I admire your courage. It's like Uber but for long-range trips. Nice one.

Now, you need to create a simple website ASAP and validate the business idea. If you can come up with good numbers (paying users/number of successful trips) and a good technical team, you'll definitely find investors willing to provide startup funding.

I won't mind connecting with you so we could share ideas on this. Cheers.
InvestmentProject Hope (nigerianpasc) Review: Legit Poverty Alleviation Or Scam? by Slimani(op):
Project Hope aka Nigerian Poverty Alleviation Subsidy Commission, is promising to offer subsidized items and cash prizes to Nigerians through its website at Nigerianpasc.

However, many users have been complaining of never receiving any benefits or winnings from the website despite paying money to enter several draws.

Is Project Hope Real or Fake?
In my opinion, the project seems suspicious.

Firstly, the project tries to disguise itself as a government intervention programme by using keywords that the Nigerian government would normally use such as "hope", "commission", "poverty alleviation", "subsidy", etc.

However, in reality, this programme is a lottery project at best, with announcement of winners shrouded in mystery.

They claim that a draw is conducted and the computer selects a winner. Which means that users are actually just betting their money in hope that they get lucky, which is most likely never going to happen.

No, Abuja is not expensive. You cut your coat according to size! I've lived in Enugu and Abuja, and when I compared the costs and opportunities of both places, Enugu town was the more expensive place.

Abuja has a lot of suburbs around popular markets and government parastatals, where sellers and employees could get affordable housing without breaking the bank. That's what Lagos won't give you.

Hello friend, I need your advice. Due to low sales, is it wise if I relocate from Enugu to Lagos to start up a business (electrical/electronic)? Am married with 2 kids. I'll be in the comment section. Thanks
Move to Abuja. It is a more serene environment than Lagos, and Abuja has a popular electronics market that you can sell from, plus the areas around that electronics market, I think Iddo, has cheap housing that you can start from and grow from there.

You could even come to Abuja alone, set up your small electro shop and see how the business is moving. If it goes well, you can then bring your family over.

Another advantage is that Abuja is not too far from Enugu (about 6hrs drive), just pass over Venue and Kogi, and you'll be in Abuja, unlike Lagos which is very far away with a very different culture.

Nairaland has been a home of brilliant ideas. So once again I plead, I need ideas for someone with 5m to generate income daily/weekly or monthly.
Start a gaming + phone charging + phone accessories shop.

Solar installation will likely cost 3m, shop rent, 1m, and then the remaining 1m will be used to kickstart the business.

You might need to add 2m to the capital if you want to start properly and cover miscellaneous costs.
BusinessRe: Is Co Working Space Business Lucrative? by Slimani(m): 11:23am On Jun 27, 2025
A co-working hub is a good business especially when combined as a small conference hall (for about 50 persons like you posited).

It could also serve as a library, small church, or meet & greet space.

You have to rent the space in a location that already has high foot traffic such as a shopping mall, plaza, or event center.

The biggest expense for this would be the installation of solar electricity.

Goodnewsforlife:
I am telling u for free as someone who used over 4 years as farm manager before quiting it that fish farming isn't lucrative like that but the only people who make gains are the wholesalers.

They buy in bulk from u per kg n they themselves sell it per one, if I get enough bar now I will try bullock farming n cow farming.

That's d latest oil money, just get a fenced land n put probably 20 cows n 20 sheep's

U don't need feeds cos they eat grasses normally, they only need water n enough medication.

The major problem is that the money isn't instant so u must have what u are doing.

Plan not to make money from it for 5 years n after 5 years u will have a minimum of 50 cows m 60 sheep's

Just sell 20 of each n that's over 30 million.

A grown cow now is around 1.4 upward

A grown bullock is over 500 upward

It doesn't consume your money but many can't just wait
How do you provide enough grass for the cows in a secluded area? Ranching might be a problem when the flock increases. Do you plan on nomading?

BusinessRe: Should I Take The Risk Or Not by Slimani(m): 10:48pm On Jun 24, 2025
Phoenix873:
Good evening wonderful people.

I will go straight to the point.

I presently work as a barber in small street side shop I rented less than 2 years ago.

The reason I moved to my present shop is so that I can be close to my uncompleted house which happens to be in the same town as my present shop even though the distance is quiet long enough to require motorcycle transportation from my uncompleted house to my present shop and vice versa.

It was the day I moved into my uncompleted house that I also moved to my present shop and I have been shuttling between home and shop since then.

For some weeks now, especially since the commencement of the rainy season, I have been having a strong urge to leave my present shop and move permanently to my house to be living there and also doing my barbing business.

This is because, I usually barb neighbors in my house in the morning before I set out to go to my shop, meaning, they already know me as a barber and I already have a shop built as part of my house exterior for the purpose of using it as a barbing salon later.

The advantage of permanently relocating and working from home includes, I will be the only barber serving the entire rural community and hopefully make money doing so. The stoppage of the daily 1k I spent on okada transport from home to shop and vice-versa, an opportunity for me to fully concentrate on farming my small backyard which is always overgrown with weed and always disturbed by trespassing neighbors and grazing fulani cows whenever I plant crops like corn or cassava.

The main disadvantage is that, the area being rural, is not yet electrified by NEPA even though the process is ongoing with the procurement of a transformer and it is likely to take a long time. And the community is not yet as populated as the community of my present shop.

I have a standby generator I intended to use along with battery operated clippers to overcome the power issue.

My present barbing salon is doing fairly well, and leaving it would mean taking the risk to leave my present loyal customers and start all over again with my neighbors and other possible customers.

I am a single guy with no kid or wife yet and enjoys my lone company as an introvert.

I will like to hear your informed opinion on whether I should take the risk or not?
Some users out of good intention have advised you to open 2 barber shops, but I think this move would be extravagant and you might incurr too much costs which might affect both businesses.

Why not maintain your current shop and have apprentices working under you. This way, you can always the chance to go for home service or come late to the shop in the morning (if you're barbing customers in your home area).

Since your home area is not yet populated to give you the kind of customers you need to be worth the risk, you might just leave things as they are or rent out the homefront shop.

My 2cents.

BusinessRe: What Business Can I Start With 5m? by Slimani(m): 12:31pm On Jun 19, 2025
OBTMOS:
What business can I start with 5 million. Don’t tell me the usual continue what you did to make the 5m because it’s no longer available.
Here are 5 of the cheapest businesses you can start from home with less than 5 million:

Snacks Production
This is the exact business my younger sister started with less than 10k and grew it into a business that helped her buy her first car.

It is unbelievable how things can change for you if only you can muster the courage to start a business right from where you are.

Snacks production is one of such businesses that you can start cheaply from home and start making money almost immediately.

Foodstuff Distribution
If you know how to source foodstuff cheaply, then you can start foodstuff distribution from home and make money.

This business is mostly niched, so you'd have to focus on a particular foodstuff to distribute.

I've seen a few people do this and they distribute foodstuff such as:

- Crayfish
- African Breadfruit
- Semolina
- Moringa seeds
- Processed fufu
- Palm oil

Mini Guest Home
Do you know that you can turn your home into a mini guest home and make money by short letting it out?

If you have a large building or a home with many rooms, you can reconstruct it and start letting out the rooms you don't use.

To get customers, you can register as a host on Airbnb as well as advertised your short let business via word of mouth.

Setting this up might not be cheap but you probably already have all you need to make the rooms as comfortable as possible for customers.

Shoe Making
Shoe making is about the most lucrative business you can start from home.

Not only is it an essential fashion, you can start cheaply and grow the business to enviable heights.

The biggest mistake most new shoemakers make is trying to start big by acquiring all the equipment needed.

But it is possible to start with the basic tools and then collaborate with other well-established shoemakers to share equipment.

Rental Services
How would it feel like getting paid regularly for an item you paid for only once?

How would you feel making money on products you don't even remember when they were bought?

That's how it would feel running a rental services business.

This is easily the cheapest passive income business you can ever engage in. You can start with a single item, such as a public speaker, projector, or even a canopy, and grow from there.

For more cheap business ideas you can start from home, check the source below:
