What if I want to withdraw my money to travel overseas, do I change it to Naira, then buy it back in dollars?
You might need to use a dollar card linked to your domiciliary account. You can ask your bank though, this thing is confusing.
BusinessNigerian Banks Have Stopped Paying Dollars For USD Inflows. Wow!! by Slimani(op): 7:24pm On Feb 09, 2024

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FHFxUoYkzU

The CBN has released a revised guideline on international money transfers in Nigeria. Banks have now been instructed to stop paying dollars for all USD inflows from abroad, and instead to payout only Naira to recipients. This is an interesting decision by the CBN which might go a long way to curb dollar round-tripping and other sharp practices, starve the black market of dollars and make the naira more stable.

However, this has been implemented before by a previous CBN administration, and have largely failed to revive the Naira or even have any positive widespread impact, instead it discouraged businesses and people in the diaspora from sending dollars to Nigeria through official channels.

The question on my mind is, what happens to the dollars in domiciliary accounts that was received prior to the issuing of this new guideline? There are over $30 billion sitting in domiciliary accounts across Nigerian banks. If this new guideline is maintained, that means the banks would have to convert all the funds in those domiciliary accounts to Naira at their own approved exchange rates.

Npc birth certificate attestation
Immediately after I completed payment online.

You'll be redirected to the certificate download page after payment, so you won't need the payment reference the first time. It is on subsequent visits that you'll need the payment reference to access the certificate download page.

Ray360:
Thank you very much for your response. Please, how long will this take? I mean "waiting for approval". How long did you wait.
Just wait for up to 2 weeks after your application. If it doesn't come, then you escalate with their customer service.
TravelRe: Payment Approval On My NIS Application Form by Slimani(m):
@Ray360, you probably picked an appointment date that is too early. You should have given it at least 2 weeks from the day of your application. You should get an email of approval message before proceeding for your biometric capture. I spoke to an NIS officer, and he said users are allowed to come for capture on the appointment date or any day after but not before. So, you can wait until you get the approval email before going for your capture. It doesn't matter if your appointment date has elapsed. Here's the approval email I got before proceeding for capture.

I was born in 1993. Can i process the birth certificate for myself too. And is it generally acceptable in place of birth certificate?

Could you share the picture of yours?

Thanks.
Yes, you can process it by yourself and it's acceptable. There's no difference between attestation and original birth certificate. The only thing is the original one is done by parents on behalf of a child. Kindly follow the process described in the video.

How did you upload your passport photograph, mine has been rejected after several attempts
It's simple. Just make sure you're using white light on your face or just natural light outside your house. Take a selfie and make sure your two ears are showing, then crop the photo unto a white background. You can use remove.bg to remove the initial background (because the application would reject it if your shadow is showing at the background) and then use canva to add a white background to the photo. Also make sure that the photo is not more than 2MB in size.
