That's how you play against a team that plays a lot of short passes.
I think manyoo is not having a bad game so far. The name of the team in red is called Manchester United! and they shouldn't respect no team, especially at Old Trafford. Do you understand now Jon Snow? |

sinizia: Can list out the CFs with more defensive duties than Ukaku and their goals scored? I really want to see their "15 goals" while Ukaku is on 7. You're sounding like the likes of Aguero, Morata and Co has scored 20 goals already. C'mon!!
It's you either want to argue for just the sake of it, or you're just plain ignorant. Ignorant of the facts that we've criticised Ukaku severally for not "doing enough" or "performing reasonably" before Elampawa started his. It's like you only read Elampawa's posts or you joined this thread last week. We've been complaining about Ukaku for long now. The only difference is that we're hoping he'll and can improve plus the fact that the tag of performing badly against top 6 can be partially blamed on our tactics.
It's what we've been saying, you either joined this thread late or missed our posts. The issue going on currently arose from the fact that after a credible performance by Ukaku against CSKA, Elampawa tried to rubbish his performance, or maybe got angry that people weren't praising Rashford more than Ukaku and decided to attack Ukaku. 1. Elamps has already done that. Scroll through. 2. You are obviously the one that wants to argue for fun because my point is crystal clear. and hey, I joined this thread way way before you. I agree that this issue has been overflogged by elamps but that still doesn't invalidate his argument. 3. Of course Lukaku had a good game against CSKA and I was the first person here to congratulate him. So elampiro is on his own there. That said, I think I am done with this Lukaku argument. |

elampiro: Sakho vs Manchester City Isolated upfront Won 3 Tackles, 1 Interceptions
That is a match he came on as substitute in 43rd minute.
Lukaku has never had an Interception in the EPL. When we told guys here that Sakho's work rate while isolated exposes Lukaku's inefficiency, they attacked us.
Chrisley024, you can see that a striker playing upfront in isolation can win Tackles and Interceptions. It takes Lukaku 3 matches to win 1 tackle, and he has never won an Interception this season.
CC eph12 and co
Yet he is not scoring enough because of his DEFENSIVE DUTIES. lol. |

people laugh at Elamps but it's clear enough he is arguing with FACTS. We complained that Lukaku has not been scoring enough, some confused Football Einsteins attributed it to him having plenty defensive duties (which is quite a juvenile claim and laughable ). Elamps now brought out stats to show players with more defensive duties scoring more than their god Lukaku. Still they don't get it!
You guys can argue all you want but every real UTD fan truly knows Lukaku has not performed reasonably well so far. I cannot spend a fortune to purchase an amphibious vehicle and when I realize the vehicle can only be used on land and complain to the company, they will SIMPLY tell me " it's because it runs faster on ground". Damn it! I bought the damn car for a reason!
That said, I am quite sure Lukaku will come good but it's pure MADNESS for anybody to tell me not to criticize him when he serves us shitt. |

raumdeuter: Lukakus lack of performance is due to the tactical setup of the team which requires him to do more defensive work than other strikers out there At least we agree on the lack of performance. The rootcause is another discussion all together. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by slimghost(m): 11:23am On Dec 08, 2017 |
The assertion that a FAN should not criticise a player when he underperforms sounds extremely stupid and annoying to me. In as much as I think that this Lukaku argument has been overflogged, nobody has the right to attack anybody criticizing a player. Sometimes, constructive criticism can even help a player improve.
That said, only a dishonest Man utd fan would belive that Lukaku has performed very well so far. |

Elampiro. I get your point honestly. Yes, Rashford had a better game but Lukaku did well also. He did most of the things I like seeing from a striker well. His finishing and off the ball movement will only get better.
I won't hesistate to slam him when he performs woefully no matter what one clown here thinks but I also have to give it to him when he does well. |

elampiro: I am not arguing who miss more. Going back to basics, we complained about what he does while not scoring. It was some guys here who kept taking about style of play, and that others get three times his chance. Na lie. They all get 3-4 chances per game.
Big chances missed shows for every goal scored, Aguero, Lukaku miss one big chance. But Salah, Kane and others have better records. So the impression that Salah, Aguero etc have 3X the chances of Lukaku per match has been nullified by stats.
How will Lukaku get chance when his heavy touch pushes the ball to the goalkeeper instead of beating him as we had against Arsenal? Bro you get time ooo. Allow these people please. Anybody with a sound football brains know the truth about Lukaku. No need for this back and forth. |

raumdeuter: Has Lukaku missed more sitters than other strikers in the league
Lukaku has weakness in hold up play before he was bought, That wasnt his strenght, Man Utd arent playing to the strnght of their attacking players Giving someone 3 chances a game and expect him to convert doesnt work that way Yes! he has missed more sitters than the top 6 club strikers. |

Lukaku, Rashform Martial, Mikitaryan Mata these are your main attacking players, which of them is in form? elampiro: The way they constantly caused trouble to the defence from long balls. Arsenal defenders, even Watford and other matches just waited for our long balls to comfortably rebuild another attack.
But City today had three men trying to stop one man from breaking from long balls from West Ham defence. They were clearly unsettled and looked like there would soon be a mistake. And this guy had low quality team mates I have said it here that some peeps do not even understand football. Thanks for this explanation man, I am sure they needed it. |

Leyqute: How be it?
Would thee point out the differences between the way both strikers doth play, O brilliant Elampeinstein? This is not rocket science. You can liken the way West ham played today to the way we played yesterday. Both teams had a player leading the line but real football analysts could see the difference. Sakho's hold up play and intelligent runs were way way better than our Lukaku's. SIMPLE! |

GloryIsaac: Only issue with Ukaku is the rate at which he misses chances, mou's tactics affect his gameplay quite alright but he should at least try and score the little ones that he sees nah , remember the one he missed against Brighton (i think), something that should have been an easy tap-in... with the new analytical stat of expected goals, things like this will be exposed..... hope he improves, that way he can score decisive goals esp in UCL b'cos chances won't flow in easily.
Age has caught up with Ibra, so benching Ukaku for him with this current tactics ain't the best in my opinion except he's gon' be in the hole... and he has a similar issue with not scoring decisive goals (pls no one should mention community shield or EFL Cup, this is Manchester United, not Arsenal or Everton. Thank You. )
Hope Ukaku improves though, can't wait for Dybala You sabi football. A whole so called top striker that keeps on missing sitters game in game out and some Einstein's here think he is doing fine. Style of play is a laughable excuse for the man's huge underperformnace. |

Someone just wrote that Lukaku has not been getting chances. Lol. That person obviously is not being honest with himself. Lukaku has been missing easy chances game in game out. Chances even an academy player will convert. I have no problem with him having a goal drought but he the truth must be told about his performance. He must be told his holdup play is horrible. He must be told his first touch is below par. He must be told his finishing is becoming erratic. He must be told his off the ball movement lacks intelligence.
This was how we continued shielding Mhki untill dude almost lost it. Lukaku MUST improve greatly to contribute to our success this season. |
