Politics › Re: Abuja Disco Transitions Into Holdco, Unveils New Subsidiaries by Slimlord(m): 9:42am On Jan 20 |
nairalanda1: Nigerians no dey like to hear truth.
You live in a country where a large proportion of people underpay or refuse to pay their light bill in the name of poverty. Meanwhile, the power sector has been privatised, meaning the government has no hand in running it since 2014 (some will even argue sincew 2004). Only 20% of customers in theory pay cost reflective tarrifs...and all this translates to massive losses of potential profits...the sector made 1 trillion in one year, when in principle it needs 15 trillion naira in yearly investment alone, which is not possible because ...of the above issues with most not paying or underpaying.
And you guys will come and call me APC supporter for saying this, when it is common business sense that a company that does not make a profit cannot do well at all.
Even the corruption, ripping off customers by overcharging and estimated billing is because the circumstances mentioned above forces the companies to do it. The price is not economic reflective. For a minimum wage of 70k, 209/kWh is too much |

Politics › Re: You Sacked Me As CBN Gov – Emir Sanusi Replies Ex-president Jonathan by Slimlord(m): 8:49am On Sep 27, 2024 |
Eriokanmi: Na their wahala. The purpose for which SLS spited Jonathan later became evident. It was to usher in buhari, a northern fulaniman. Everybody used their tools to deal with Jonathan, including religious and ethnic war. They've failed to realise that only God puts one in positions, not by force else, your office won't see batter days.
After they hijacked power, they now set Nigeria backwards by 50 years. A lot of people can't ride cars anymore, many homes now use firewood to cook, they now beg to eat, the masses' quality of life had reduced so much. Homes now buy lantern to light up their rooms cos electricity tariff is crazy. All these were experiences and scenarios of the pre-independence era, over 60 years ago.
While tinubu was using propaganda tools with sponsored protests, religious extremists were at it up north and some political office holders of northern extraction in his government too were busy betraying him. PWHC was able to jettison SLS's claim in their report as figures didn't match. SLS was just behaving like emefiele as CBN governor and used his office to favour his people. I remember the billions largesse to kano, during the attack. Whereas, worst cases happened down south but he looked the other way. How people forget things in a hurry. He later became emir of kano, his agelong ambition. Jega was another useless man. Today, he's holding a key position in the apc-led govt as compensation.
I've learned from Jonathan personally. Nigeria doesn't need a soft leader.I'd have put tinubu and his men in jail after charging them for treason and release them only a few weeks to the end of my 2nd tenure. Na shout him thugs go shout. Police wouid arrest and jail some of them and the rest wouid keep quiet. After all, he's the Commander-in-chief Could push the country to civil unrest though. he wouldnt want that. People were already begining to see those men as messiahs. Doing that will only streghten their self acclaimed Heroism. At least now we know better. |

flokii: The Igbo Reps in NASS are not pushing for referendum for biafra but are busy pushing for another dot state that will be the size of one estate in Niger State. No offence meant but I feel SE shouldn't have more than 3 States considering the size. Niger State should start pushing for creation of 5 more States to properly capture their interest and that of NC in Nigeria. We'll still get to 47 States, not 37. E sure me say Northerners go create additional 2 States each for NE, NW and NC. You sound so dumb with this right up. Patebere: Zik was out of the country when d coup took place. How could he hav possibly been a victim. Remember dat d 1975 coup dat ousted Gowon took place in his absence too. Personally, I blame d executors of d coup in the south as being responsible for its failure. Had it been Ironsi was done away with, it would have succeeded. Note also that the key-people who aborted d coup were Igbos too. So if the coup was an Igbo thing, then its failure was also an Igbo thing. So let me ask u, where do d Igbos stand on this? And does dat mean that it was only the Igbos that were in the Nigerian army? For plannin a coup and at the same time forstalling it. Clearly they were aware but were also making their own plans |

Ayiti ko'fa, ifa tiin ṣẹ This your statement just proved my previous point. When you see that your neighbour has paid and has light, you would want to pay as quickly as possible to get yours. That's just the way it is.
