Dear Ramadan, Last year you left me on a high, I started to go low the moment you said "Bye". Trust me, I tried, to bare your words of advice, "Live a life in this world like you did in Ramadan. And your life in the hereafter will be like Eid." But it's not the same without you. The Shayateen are not chained, so our feet are heavier at dawn. Our good deeds don't multiply the same, so our outstretched hands are gone, we couldn't even give out a sum. Dear Ramadan, How bad will it be if you wouldn't come, the Quran has gathered dust, our hearts have begun to rust. It has mingled with the elements of the world. Come Ramadan! Bare your sword. Our hearts and souls beckon. Come dear Ramadan, let our heedlessness be gone. Slitz... Allahumma Balligna Ramadan |

Title - Bankrupt Rasulullah(pbuh) said " Alhamdulillah fills the scales ". So when I found myself bankrupt, downcast, hearts dropped, my accounts gone red because my good deeds bled, I said, Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah filled my scales, but my sins didn't pale. Downcast, I wailed. Astagafurllah! Back and forth I go, I am bankrupt, I know. Poor of my Jannah glow. I sow, and hope my Alhamdulillahs would grow and recline my roots in the best abode. Al Firdaous! Slitz... “O you who have believed, remember Allaah with much remembrance..." |

When 1960 was born it gave a shrill cry of hope. The innocence of its tears drowned all of our fears. We stood in anticipation, necks stretched, eyes wide. Oh! What a pleasurable sight when your legs began to crawl, and your tiny toes, the world it explored. Our grown legs tired and our souls ached, to behold your bent legs straight. You have crawled for so long yet you have aged. Your teeth have lost milk and your hair, greyed. Why do you crawl, after you have aged? They say you had a deficiency from birth, and till we changed your meals, your legs would stay bad. Oh, our milk is not as fresh, our breasts have sagged. Our backs have bent and our voices, cracked. But come dear child, together our arms will carry and feed you, till your feet come alive. A mother's arms never tire, never tire of it's own. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA!!! Slitz...

Istikhara said No! Hands raised, tongues praised, hearts prayed, but the unfolding events never paid. "Khairun li fi dini wa ma'ashi... " "If it is good for me in relation to my religion and my life... " Then guide my heart to beat upon the right path. Then cause my body to tingle to the right strokes. Then cause my soul to bond with that which makes it whole. Then guide my feet upon the path I would call Home. "...anna hadha lamra sharun li fi dini wa ma'ashi " "...and if it is bad for me, in relation to my religion and my life..." then upon that track, do not make my heart strive. And upon such emotions, I should not pine, and remind my soul, "Upon this, do not bind! " then carry my feet far away from the maze that could lead me astray. Hands still raised, tongues still praise, hearts still pray. The unfolding actions would unveil, what istikhara really says. Slitz... Istikhara is the prayer for guidance enjoined upon us by the Prophet (peace be upon him) whenever we have to make a decision. |

hello! how much do you make your labels? |
lexiconkabir:so because the Prophet (SAW) asked him to invite the men, you have developed your own Fatwa? You have not given thought to the context, that perhaps it is the women who ought to invite the women and the men vice versa? You have not even gone into the details of the context of this speech of the Prophet in order to prove your Fatwa. I think we all should thread carefully before spitting put Haram or Halal. what's wrong and what's not... |

What He said... Solah! He said. Let the consciousness drive fuel to your feet, Know that Iman would not rain, when the drops from your Wudhu wain. Remember the One who sends the rain And made it hug the earth till it produce grain. Remember that even you used to be Nay, until He said 'Be! ' and you became. Love! He said. Let love drive actions to your limbs, in secrecy devote your good deeds, be the best to kith and kin and know that righteousness always wins. Love till love drives you, away from the comfort of your bed away from the false desires of your soul, away from the deception of the world and it's whole, away to a journey of souls, and be amongst the best of souls! To meet your Lord, And watch what you have sowed, GROW! Slitz... slitzcouture..com

She was blessed. We covered her in a garb of honor, but honor 'failed' her. So she picked the adornment of shame, and dwelled in the garden of 'fame'. What pleasure she found in the rain, dwindled when the drought came. We elevated her to a high place, above the earth and humanly gaze, but she said upon grass she must graze, and so she fell upon her face. We served her meal upon a golden tray, she looked awhile with nothing to say. No words, no thanks! The grace was taken away. I pray that you may, live beyond the standard that you came, rise above the earth, before you breathe your last. Slitz...

We might be wondering, "what has Ramadan got to do with love?" Everything! Finding love in Ramadan is inspired by the lecture of Ustadh Ibraheem Yahya, where he discusses the impact of Barakah and the way it should translate into love in the home, and also the different levels of fasting and the greatest of them. We have decided to split this lecture into two parts. We hope you benefit from it! Ramadan Mubarak! Hate is Blind Hate is just as blind as love, if not more. Many of us, at one point or another, have disliked another human being to a sinful degree. Our heart, normally soft and forbearing, constricts in rancor against them. Naturally, there are usually justifications for our hatefulness, and in reality the reasons probably warrant some level of aversion. Often I am asked to sit in mediation between estranged couples, emotionally charged fathers and sons, feuding relatives, distrustful neighbors or disputing former business partners. On one such occasion a seemingly outwardly devout gentleman leaned over and said, “Shaykh, if I die before you, please lead my janāzah and make sincere du'ā' for me. Also I give this as a wasiyya, if Omar (the man he is in dispute with) comes to pray at my funeral, I want you to kick him out of the masjid and tell him that I do not need his prayers.” The seed of hate begins to sprout in the depth of the heart and, without intervention, the seed takes root and rises out of the heart into a thicket of anger, mistrust, gossip, fear, separation and condescension. Barakah and Taqwa With Allah's barakah – divine gracious blessing – all that seems broken can be fixed. Those cut off can be reunited. No one is beyond redemption and no error is beyond resolving. Anger can be quelled, disputes can be settled and hate can be turned to tolerance and eventually, God willing, love. Barakah – a gracious blessing is the beneficent force from Allah that flows through the physical and spiritual spheres as prosperity, protection, and fulfillment. Barakah is the attachment of Divine goodness to a thing, so that if it occurs in something little, it increases it, and if it occurs in something great it preserves it and benefits it. It is blessings that arrive from where none was anticipated. It is the continuity of spiritual presence and revelation that begins with Allah and flows through that and those closest to Allah. Allah is the sole source of barakah and He alone has the power to grant or withhold it. Barakah symbolizes the connection between Allah and His servants, through His direct and intentional blessing of those that are most reflective of Him and His orders. Baraka is not a state, it is a flow of blessings and grace that is attained in life through Taqwa – an ever-growing God-Consciousness. It is that very same Taqwa that punctuates our Ramadan. It is the attainment of Taqwa as an outcome of the blessed month of Ramadan that establishes the barakah resulting in the emancipation from Hellfire, redemption from our sins, and release from lustful inclination and salvation from our inequity. It is this barakah that reconnects distant hearts, heals broken relationships and transforms spite into goodwill and discord into harmony. The month of Ramadan comes with an ascending, three tier self-development framework: At the first tier, the abstinence from food, drink and spousal relations instills an appreciation for what we normally take for granted. At the second level is the fasting of the limbs from sinful indulgences and impulses, such as the eyes that are lowered, the tongue that is more reserved, and the hands that are restricted. It is here that the words of the Prophet come to heart: Fasting is a shield; so when one of you is fasting he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice in anger. If someone attacks him or insults him, let him say: “I am fasting!” (Muslim) He also said in a hadith reported by Bukhari: Whosoever does not abandon false speech and the acting upon it, Allah is not in need of him leaving off his food and drink.” The third and most elevated level of abstinence in Ramadan is that of the heart. The aim is to restrain the heart from all the distractions that distance one from Allah and His messenger. The heart is integral to a complete fast. By its virtue a believer can grow closer to Allah and in it is the root of faith. From it, correct actions are predicated on its sincerity and intention, and most importantly, love – for Allah and His Creation exists in the heart. It is through this process of Taqwa and sincere love, that barakah arrives. As the beginning of Ramadan would approach the Prophet would say to the companions, Ramadan has come to you. (It is) a month of Barakah, in which Allah covers you with blessing, for He sends down Mercy, decreases sins and answers prayers. In it, Allah looks at your competition (in good deeds), and boasts about you to His angels. So show Allah goodness from yourselves, for the unfortunate one is he who is deprived in (this month) of the mercy of Allah, the Mighty, the Exalted.” [Narrated by Tabarani – Accepted] Where is the Barakah ? Concluded in link. slitzcouture..com/2016/06/finding-love-in-ramadan.html

I gave a buzz to an old friend, but then I hoped she wouldn't answer. A conversation of no words, I needed to know who's Boss. A clear picture, I couldn't ascertain, so I wondered... could there really be no wars? no fears, no falls? no images that raise brows? But if man didn't stumble, how would he have learnt to rise? If he had not feared, how would he have learnt to be brave? And if he had not experienced hate and rejection, how would he have appreciated love? The best lessons that life has taught me, were gotten from my deepest falls, and the strength that pushed me back, has given me more depth. The best wars I would have, would throw me on the battlefield, with another me as an opponent! as I battle my way to Mercy, until I meet the Most Merciful. Hello old friend, I hope your silence means you have been suppressed. Slitz... |

To whom do your tears pay homage? as they caress your white, black, yellow, red skin and journey across your riftless chin to disappear into the thin. To what do your emotions pay homage? Fear, hate, love, sadness, happiness, Ignorance? bowing before an unlearned shadow that races to extinction with light. How do you even pay homage, to concepts and thoughts that are homeless, here today, there tomorrow, disappearing acts that leave you in sorrow. Learn and give homage to the ones whose homes don't age providing a picture of colors, colors that don't fade. TRUTH! Slitz... |
I took my legs on a flight on a dark night. I prayed the night would hide my sins, but the brilliant stars twinkled them bright. I remembered my dreams, sadly from them I have taken flight, Maryam, Asiyah,Aisha, Khadija, a circle of everything right. Left right, left right, sometimes more left, sometimes more right, and sometimes I proclaim 'Go' but my legs lose light. the light of a path, the path of a light. No one was ever lost on a straight path, So in the darkness of my sight, and with the little beam in my heart, I whisper ......... Ihdina siratal Mustaqeen! Slitz... |
Even broken crayons color with no reduction in its shade. Painting a Noble picture, from its lips, no complaints. Indeed we shall be tested, a knowledge it can't erase then glad tidings to the patient a reminder to be embraced. Sakinah settles down, in its heart is pasture for it to graze. A pure and fertile land, watered by Sabar and Praise. Alhamdulillah! Its Rabb, the Owner of all Praise! ..Slitz |
Qiyaam and Taraweeh. Qiyaam and Taraweeh the school of the richest people, admittance only by scholarship, a flame of love for Allah. Qiyaam and Taraweeh, the honor of the believer, as his forehead grazes the ground, at the golden moments of dawn. Qiyaam and Taraweeh, an indicator of Allah's love, the ones who are granted the ability, for them is a vast reward. "Is there anyone who will call, so that I(Allah) may answer? Is there anyone who will ask, so that I may give? Is there anyone who would seek for my forgiveness, so that I may forgive?" The best of speech from Rabbul Alamin. So as the world snores away, get up and pray! Slitz... |
" The fast is between Me( Allah) and my servant" A relationship beautifully defined its match, I could never find. My Rabb has made an amazing offer its acceptance, how could I defer. So as the moisture seeps outta my veins and as my stride is gradually restrained and as my stomach begins its sorrowful melody and my Nafs seems to be at war with me or perhaps it is I who holds the ammunition its weight suddenly catches my attention till the straight line looks a little wobbled and the smooth dress seems a bit ruffled then I observed that its the body that is weak the soul is vibrant and rich from its Lord comes an infinite supply of Rizq till the wealth becomes so vast that it lends light to the eyes and propels the feet that were restrained and the veins an ample supply of moisture and so the battle against Al Nafs becomes easy and the melody of the stomach pleasing and the straight line actually appears straight and the smooth dress even smoother! The blessings of my Lord I could never count in my weakness, I did a rebound!!! Slitz... Ramadan Mubarak! |
.Tough questions ..Ma sha Allah..Thumbs up to the organizers and the participants. hoping I would be able to answer one before the end of Ramadan .Barakallahu fih! |
If I am to fall in love I pray that the decision is made, not by my Nafs, not by the glittering as it glitters, not by the butterflies as they flutter, not by the melody of the distressed singer, not by a fleeting moment of desire not by the straying eye that lingered, not by the adornments of the cool dresser, not by the coined words of the great speaker, for indeed speech can cast false spells as it flows gently like loose pearls painting a portrait of false tales. If I do fall in love, let it be love born out of Love a gift from the One from whom all love belongs. A feeling that feeds on submission and drinks from the spring of Iman and dwells in the heart of the Quran, basks in the rays of the Sunnah, is clothed in the garment of the Nabiyy(SAW) and roles with the best of companions, is energized by works of goodness, is at rest in the remembrance of Allah and lays in His glorification. If I am to fall in love...... Slitz |
khiaa:Your post makes no sense! perhaps u could clarify. |
Looking forward to your updates! |
Wizeboy:okay let's paint a scenario here. A man who has no steady source of income, has no concrete plans for the future, is probably not educated yet hopes to find a sister who would share a one room apartment with him! com'on she doesn't need a suitsayer to tell her that's a danger zone. He probably would remain in that state for a while. Let's paint another scenario, a man who has tied his camel nicely, a lady would not mind starting off with one room apartment because she is hopeful that its a condition that would soon change |
