To every fellow Igbo person on Nairaland, please when these odd number of what appears to be Yoruba people open these tribalistic threads, enjoing me in praising them. It seems they need it.

Prior to that, please praise everything about youruba people you want to praise here.

Irony and sarcasm if you get my drift, or genuine praise tongue. Anyone will do. Personally I feel they need it wink

See: https://www.nairaland.com/2244515/no-mans-land-critical-agenda

You are like Jonatha: clueless!

The same way a 50+ clueless man president was all over Yorubaland praising them not knowing that unlike their people who thrive on show-offs, loud empty praise, empty chest beating while a serial failure, the Yorubas are far more introspective and circumspect! Nothing pisses most of them off individually and collectively more than hypocrisy, eye service and stup.id people who like to come off as smart! That is hundreds of billions within a few weeks could not save a clueless man president!

What will be done and no amount of deception or praise singing will ever change that...and the best advice is to leave now voluntarily. Everyone else is welcome in Our lands but not the arrogant, disrespectful guests from the land of the dead sun!

Demburrows:
You may want to embellish yourself with the self-denial, but this is the TRUTH.

I think generationally madness has destroyed your brain. The road back to Iboland is open, go back! You are not wanted and never invited! Yorubas do not want ibos in their lands, that is why they destroyed and killed all the ibo Biafra soldiers at Ore, trying to get to Lagos Yorubaland! One day, ibos will get a worse treatment than they got via the abandoned property saga as they will be forced to carry everything on their heads back out of Yorubaland and escorted to be sure they cross the Niger back to their land and the gates sealed to ibos. Other sensible and respectful Nigerians can still come to Lagos Yorubaland to conduct their business and live. Yorubas will never give an inch of Lagos or any part of its heritage to Ibos even if they are born there or spent their last naira buying land - it is a lease which will expire and ownership revert back to the native Yoruba owners.

Tell that to those selling the lands to igbos. They know lagos yo be owned by yoruba but when they see igbo money, they sell to them in the name of 1 Nigeria.

You and your fellow ibos are ao deluded! So, buying a land which is really a lease that expire in 99 years means you have bought something you can fold and put in your pocket, right? Yoruba house of assemblies should make laws to prohibit selling (or leasing land for 99 years) to ibos because they can't get it that the ownership expires after their death which will most likely happen in 99 years + their current age. Renting a flat in a house for 10 years or 99 years will never make you a joint owner of the house!

Don't get tired yet because when they wanted to go in 1966 it was yoruba leaders that were shouting if by omission and commission the east was allowed to go the west would also go Only for them to go and become vice president and minister for finance doing everything humanly Impossible and inhuman to stop igbos from leaving Nigeria

When that statement was made by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Ibadan, Oyo State, was he talking to an Ibo audience? How many Ibos were at that meeting when he are that statement? How can a leader addressing his own people, in their own house affect or dictate how another people in a different land must take their decision? Mister, you and your ibo ilk have been peddling these lies for almost 50 years, are you people shameless? Was your leader who took his own people to war to get 3 M killed based on a conversation that was done in Yorubaland not make you see your leader as stupi.d, clueless, lacking in deep thinker and not worthy to lead even ants to a battle to attack sugar successfully?

So, the ibo war failed by the effort of Nigerian troops with all other Nigerians and their support, why can't you just get over it already? Everyone lost something but the difference is no other side or people had a leader so lacking in foresight, be lost 3M+ humans, destroyed the entire land, land size reduced to less than the size of many individual states and 49+ years later, not a dog or sugar ant will let you lead them to a common battle to attack a bowl of sugar.

You are not the only ones in Lagos, which is Yorubaland, why are the other 200+ tribes still developing their states and lands while living all over Nigeria without the noise making and chest beating of the ibo?? Losing the war does not make you owners of the another man's corner and this greed was the reason you were whooped the first time! Let ibos go and develop their lands and stop trying to steal the resources and lands of another people. This is exactly why the SS chased you off their lands in PH and will all Nigerians hold the ibo in perpetual suspicion!

In a single sentence you could have said something sensible.

You should have said:

Note: Please remember to slam the door hard when you leave. No one wants you, no one needs you, and no one will miss you.

Who is the fella and what is his name? Where is he from?

Nigeria needs to enact laws that make certain crimes, especially grievous and deliberate ones like this worthy of the death penalty! If not, at this rate crime will keep increasing!

Catch a criminal, get incontrovertible evidence, charge to court within 48 hours and expedite prosecution. If found guilty, dispense with such immediately. By the time a number of criminals are nailed, all the drug pushers, kidnappers, fake drug syndicates, assassins, armed robbers, etc will go back to their villages and change for good, otherwise capital punishment!

How will a bloody civilian like Wike face-up to Boko Haram, not to mention a professional NA when they are fighting a war at full strength?

Even Ojukwu, a man who was only a colonel by the beginning of the war but nonetheless a trained soldier was beaten flat and pummelled into submission until he ran away. He came back a docile man and tried to re-integrate himself into the country after he learned the hard way.

Unlike Ojukwu, the NA will not make the mistake again to allow a war-monger get others killed but escape with is own life, family and property! If Wike starts a war, I hope the government makes announcement to ask people who don't want to be part of his madness to temporarily leave to another state / area and then swoop in on him to annihilate him completely. There will be no trips to Abuja for photo ops or no victor, no vanquished! A selfish man like Wike ready to plunge a big country of ~180M into war must not be allowed to get others killed and waste everyones time talking nonsense when his end is clear from BEFORE the beginning of the war!

There's this thing called 'Federal Republic of Nigeria'...still to hear of a 'Federal Republic of Yoruba or Oodua'.
If you had been intelligent enuf, you coulda called for a referendum to quit the union that so irks you and causes you so much pain.
Wonder what Adekunle, Awolowo and co will be reminiscing over now...you know...the whole civil war thingy, Ibos been edged out of the national scene, the indigenization decree that gave the SW the clear edge in business and industry, the FCT being in Lagos all those years with the attendant development. Did you ponder on all these?
Its a collective estate dude...and if you want to toe that line it will backfire in geometrical proportions.
Eleko goofed! Accept it and move on.
Atleast the Ibos with all their whinings have accepted the war defeat and moved on. So much so that without fear or prejudice they have ensconced themselves in the lands of the people most responsible for the defeat.
Stop inciting hate...doesn't pay.

You could have done without the insults, at least prove that you are up to it mentally!

I don't have time to educate you on very basic things as I assume you should be an adult to address this topic. That being said, my post stated very clearly State House of Assemblies, not the Senate or National Assembly in Abuja. The State House of Assembly has oversight to legislate or make laws within its own state, not for another state or the national assembly in Abuja.

What is being proposed here is to those lawmakers of states whose constituents (citizens) are asking for laws to protect their heritage and culture, which is what a civilized and forward-looking people would make a first option. After such laws are made and signed into law, any offenders will be punished to the maximum extent prescribed by law.

Failure to make laws to address issues that affect the people will only lead to violence, killings and pogroms which can be avoided. This is what is carried out in the north first before dialogue, but rather than make violence an option, the SW should make these laws now!!

This is a post for serious mind and not touts, so keep your uncouth behaviour to yourself.

I really have no interest about talking about if eastern Nigeria lost the war and is now in Nigeria. That an errant child or family member gets punished seriously is not an excuse for him to get away with just anything or play by a special set of rules. A law like this will protect everyone equally including the easter region / states so, no one is losing anything here!

With the recent uproar caused by the assertion of the Oba of Lagos over his domain in Lagos, Yorubaland and the response of the ungrateful guests in our lands, I think it is now very germane that the legislatures in all State of Assemblies in the South West Region begin to make laws that will protect the land and heritage of its people. For so long, the Yorubas have been too good for themselves and except we take a hard stance now and draw the line NOW, things will only get more heated as the ungrateful guests from eastern Nigeria have now resorted to insults to perhaps their most hospitable hosts in Nigeria.

This thread is not to rehash what has been discussed or known but to start a conversation that must reach to the highest levels of governments in our regions to enact legislation and laws that prohibit and ultimately forestall the proliferation of locusts in our lands. I will propose some ideas, feel free to add yours and forward to our leaders! If you have links and connections to those that need to see this, please do so ASAP:

1. Land MUST NEVER BE SOLD directly to a NON-Yoruba again! The first step is to stop immediately the signing of C of O's for applicants who cannot prove that they are Yoruba and trace there roots down to their father's compound anywhere in the South West.

2. In the event it becomes mandatory that a business interest requires land to setup a business and applies to the government, land of definite sizes must be allocated and LEASED for terms varying from 5, 10 or maximum of 25 years ONLY!

3. Every land that has been sold in the past without C of O's or expired C of Os anywhere in the geographic South West must be immediately revoked.

4. Henceforth, strict terms of tenancy must be enacted and enforced for all non-Yorubas such that tenants cannot resort to cheating their landlords with late payments, non-payments or unnecessary distractions by way of court cases.

5. Immediate agenda that establishes the communication in Yoruba 100% in every legislative function of the State House of Assemblies in the SW.

6. More coming...add yours!

Politics / Re: Dont See Igbos As Enemies -- Umeh Tells Buhari by Sloan: 2:42pm On Apr 08, 2015
I don't think Buhari is petty to victimize anyone, not even Ibos. In every part of the country, Jonathan got significant votes by hook or by crook so how many people can he vilify?

What I hope Buhari does is to stick to the APC development programs and pursue them unrelentingly aggressively so as to advance the country the fastest it has ever been in the last 16 years.

Specifically, fix power in a way that power shortages become a thing of the past. Also, solve the insecurity problems in the NE and SS. In solving the security problems, it should be recognized that it makes no sense to solve a problem only to have to do it again and again, so he must realize that the people of a state or region are in the best position to arrest insecurity in their domains - so state police and related infrastructure.

Fiscal Federalism.

Strengthen all government institutions and make them independent.

If he would make a mark in these areas, almost every segment of the economy will experience tremendous growth and private sector participation.
Politics / Re: Eziachi: Ndigbo & Lagos- Asset Vs Liability by Sloan: 2:23pm On Apr 08, 2015
Eziachi, I will only address again the point that seems not to get into the thick head of the guests, who think they are co-owners of the house their host received them into. Of course, that Ibos fought and lost a war, which was a criminal, ill-thought and un-winable war to start with, does not mean they get rewarded for every stunt they pull-out afterwards. Does an erring child who gets spanked really badly now hold his parents / brothers to ransom and must now get away with everything afterwards, and in essence play by a different set of rules?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This is what Ibos do not or cannot understand. The war was won and the losers cannot use that as leverage to cry harder each time they are WRONG! Quote me.

Now to the MAIN ISSUE: Ibos live in Nigeria, they are Nigerians, Nigeria and every country have citizenship rules that are just too basic that it does not merit even discussing for 5 seconds because everyone agrees to it:

A citizen of a country can live in any part of that country. Everyone who is not a baby or dead or inanimate object knows this fact.

However, that you live in a part of the country or better still migrated to or your fathers migrated to a land within that country, which existed before you were born or your fathers were born and owned by natives of that land in that same country does not and cannot make them relinquish ownership of that land.

It does not make it a NO MAN'S LAND! This is akin to an insult of the highest order, an insult to their ancestors and heritage!

So Ezaichi, Yorubas know and live the constitution far better than Ibos at the very least and go out of their way to accommodate and make you comfortable in their land. In the north, you abused that privilege a long time ago and the northerners killed you in thousands and millions and Ahmadu Bello went on video record to tell you exactly about you.

It appears that is the only language you understand and in life people get what they deserve or what they understand, the same way an errant child will only understand hard discipline by way of spankings / corporal punishment.

Ibos do not have to claim Yorubaland, not the least Lagos, just because they lost the civil war. I repeat that for a 1000th time:

Live in Yorubaland BUT you will NEVER own or co-own a farthing of it, the heritage of the Yorubas.

Whether Nigeria breaks up or not, whether you met Lagos or any land as a big empty space with only 1 human being, you are a Nigerian citizen resident on the land and not an OWNER of the land or Lagos or Yorubaland or any other part of North, SS, MB, SW, etc.

Politics / Re: Opinion: Our Government Should Remove "STATE OF ORIGIN" In Filling Forms by Sloan: 6:15pm On Apr 07, 2015
BS! Removing anything will not improve unity any more than it has while it was not removed. Why can't people live in their states or regions, or is until you go to Lagos or Yorubaland, Rivers or SS-Land or Kano, North before Nigeria can be united? This is really stoopid logic! If everyone runs away from their hamlet to only one part of the country or 2 / 3 parts of the country, how will that unite or make the country stronger? This is the kind of lies being peddled around by people who want a "legal" backing to claim ownership of land that their fathers have no part in!

I would rather think that making sure all regions / states are equally strong such that there is continuous flux or movement from one state to the other for goods, services, people and business will unite Nigeria more and make it stronger than a paper fiat which a lot of people know they don't subscribe to. If Nigerians who live at the sea borders or land borders know that their country men in a small village in Nkwerre, Ikirun or Ihiala are doing some great work equally oiling the production engines of the country, there is no way they would not do all to their last breath to protect hostile intruders through their borders into the hinterland. If everyone goes to Lagos or Port Harcourt to claim joint ownership with the indigenous owners, who will develop the abandoned areas, mostly in a certain part of the country? Or is it fair to think you can keep 100% owners of your own land in a part of Nigeria no one wants to relocate to willingly but additionally claim ownership in another man's property? I think the people championing this point of view are Ibos, because no other people in Nigeria care so much as to abandon their heritage, perhaps because of greed or realization that some people are better-off, and later claim to be developing it!
