davodyguy: Thank you Sir First time 6months UK visit visa applicant with self service Application was to go preparatory course in April 2020 and exam in May 2020 all in UK. Materials uploaded online : 1.7 months payslip and account statement (opening of 20k closing of 1.4M) 2.Letter of introduction to British Deputy High Commissioner office for both the preparatory course and the exam 3.Visa support letters from the exam body in UK 4.House rent transfer receipt and nepa bill 5.Letter from my pension manager and stockbroker 6.Spouce visa support letter 7. Family pictures, children school fees receipts and their results 8. Land documents and car documents 9. Flight reservations for both travels (April and May 2020)....though they already expired 10. Hostel accommodation in UK (free cancellation policy) for both travels in April and May....still current until yesterday I cancelled them since I was travelling again due to Coronavirus 11. Cover letter stating my traveling in April for the preparatory course , coming back, then travelling again in May for the exam. ...because both were 42 days apart and my office cannot great me to stay in uk that long since am not in annual leave. Finances : Salary 468k, disposable income 400k.....spent 68k for family upkeep while wife (lecturer) contributes 30k from her salary. ...she also stated it in her letter & also to happily stay with the children while I travel Total cost of travelling in April . ..360k.....3 days Total cost of travelling in May....400k........4 days I told ECO that both cost of travels was 760k which is still below my 2 months disposable income of N800k and I still have a balance of about N600k after all the travels. Also my investments, pension and land documents. My home ties... Family Work Investment Land Timeline : My application was submitted online on 3rd March 2020 in ikeja TLS centre ( i wanted to do priority appointment of about N145k because it was closed to my traveling date. ....but on further advise, I chose standard appointment of about 45k...with hope of getting the visa exactly in 3weeks time, so that I can travel on 2nd April 2020. Biometrics on 4th March 2020 Passport picked on 25th March 2020...exactly 3 weeks after biometrics with 6 months visa application granted starting from June to December 2020 My travel dates were April 2020 and May 2020 Due to Coronavirus pandemic. ...my preparatory course and exam was shifted by the exam body to possibly September 2020 I was seriously worried because it will affect my travel if I get visa with validity from March 2020. I sent mail to uk visa office 2 weeks ago that my purpose of visa application has been shifted to possibly September 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic , that i will if I will be given the visa, It should start by August 2020, because given me visa from March 2020 may be expired before I travel and this may make me apply for another visa again. After 48hours, I got response from UK visa office that there is nothing they can do about it. I left everything to God in prayers. I got my passport today exactly 3 weeks after biometrics with 6 months visa application granted starting from June to December 2020.....meaning I will still do all my intended travels after the Coronavirus pandemic is curtailed. Maybe God touched the ECO heart to re-adjust the visa validity dates. Thank you all again. 3 Likes |

Good day Sirs and Mas Am waiting for decision on my 6months UK visit visa application to attend Preparatory Course in April 2020 and to write exam in May 2020 The exam body HAS JUST postponed the preparatory course and exam date to possibly Septemberor October 2020 due to the COVID-19 VIRUS spread. Since am expecting decision from the ECO for my UK visa decision on or before March 24th,..... How can I communicate to the ECO, British Embassy so as to review my travel date and validity of my visa to know move from possibly April 2020 to September 2020 when the preparatory course has been shifted before the final decision on my visa comes out? My passport is still with TLS office, ikeja Am really worried and confused now. Thanks for your guidance. |

bigtt76: Thank you Madam. The preparatory course visa support letter and the actual exam visa support letter will be issued separately by the same college exam body...different sections of the same college will issue their visa support letters. The preparatory course is part of the college exam body offering for this coming May 2020 exam.....the preparatory course usually holds 30-40days before the actual exam. I have already booked for both the preparatory course and the exam with the college exam body. I will travel for preparatory course April 2020 (3 days in UK), then come back to naija. Then go back to UK for the exam on May 2020 (3 days in UK) ,then back to naija too. The total cost of each travel is now N360k. My office will not grant my stay in UK from April to May (about 42days at once) when am not on annual leave. Thanks for your contributions always |

bigtt76: Thank you so much. So which one should I use for the primary reason for the visa application itself -the prep course other the exam itself. This is because I noticed in the visa application form, it is only one main reason for the visa application that you can select and maintain throughout the application. Also if I use the exam date as the main reason for the visa application, will it be under Additional information that I will state that I will be going for the prep course in April 2020 or in the cover letter I will write. I want a clean visa application to prevent future denial in my subsequent visa applications. Thank you for the guidance. Am really grateful. |
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Slowandgood: 10:39am On Feb 16, 2020 |
bigtt76: Ok Thanks. I actually spend about 100k for family upkeep from my other non salary account, but just for the visa application I chose that amount from my salary account. Also for more clarification, I may actually go for preparatory course for the exam in April 3rd 2020, but am not using it to apply for the visa. I hope if am giving the visa for the exam, I can also travel for both the preparatory course on 3rd April 2020 (though the preparatory course is not compulsory ) and then travel for the exam on 16th May 2020. NB: The funds for both travels are actually in my non salary account (it is in my family upkeep account ), but am just using the salary account for the visa application. What is your advise please. Thanks |
