thorpido: If indeed you believe that God sent Jesus(and there is only One God as you say as muslims) and that the message of Jesus was from God,then as a muslim you should be able to provide the original message of Jesus since you say the one in the bible has been edited. How can you believe a 'prophet' without having anything to show as his doctrine?Even if you say His message was only for Israel, there should be copies we can see.Does that not show there's a big flaw in what you believe? That is why we have the Quran that explains all doctrines given to all prophets. The Quran is the seal of books given to prophets "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Apostle of God, and the Seal of the Prophets : and God has full knowledge of all things. (The Noble Quran, 33:40) " |
italo: Maybe you should ask Mohammed then. He asked you to believe in a non-existent book?so simple! you had old testament first, then the new testament. whose work is that? |
rationalmind: I hope you know ure derailing your own thread. That apart, I sensed already you won't be able to defend it and its going to amount to a waste of time. You even confirmed it with your reply. That was why I had to edit my initial post.God..... give us a proof for your statement that i was wrong. Simple! stop playing smart here. Or is there hadith that made mention of it ? After those two book of reference of Muslims. The rest re myth and lies! Thanks |
rationalmind: I already told you to leave it. I rightly said you can't defend it. And the pathetic answer above confirms all I said. Just leave it or perhaps another thread will do.don't tell me i can't do justice to it. if you think i was wrong and there's any evidence to back it up. proof it. That's how to learn instead of bn mute on an issue! |
rationalmind: I'm not a christian.Fristly, there's no mention of muhammad's journey on a winged horse in the Quran. I'll like you to give a reference where you saw it. However, muhammad actually descended to heaven spiritually not physically [17:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. [17:2] Glory be to Him Who carried His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Distant Mosque, the environs of which We have blessed, that We might show him some of Our Signs. Surely, He alone is the Hearing, the Seeing. [17:3] And We gave Moses the Book, and We made it a guidance for the children of Israel, saying, ‘Take no guardian beside Me, [17:4] ‘O ye the progeny of those whom We carried in the Ark with Noah.’ He was indeed a grateful servant. [17:5] And We revealed to the children of Israel in the Book, saying, ‘You will surely do mischief in the land twice, and you will surely become excessively overbearing.’ [17:6] So when the time for the first of the two warnings came, We sent against you someservants of Ours possessed of great might in war, and they penetrated the innermost parts of your houses, and it was a warning that was bound to be carried out. [17:7] Then We gave you back the power against them, and aided you with wealth and children, and made you larger in numbers. you can check Quran and read the whole chapters and point to me where winged horse is mentioned. Thanks |

italo: First of all, do you believe in the Bible as Mohammed told you to?ofcos Muslims shd believe in the doctrines giving to all prophets and i never said i didn't believe in it. buh where's a book that contains the original doctrine given to jesus ? Bible has bn edited by men. we all knew that |
rationalmind: Its hypocritical asking a christian to defend his belief when you obviously can't defend urs.i av not the intention of mocking you my brother. i want you to shed more light about your faith cos of some biblical quotes reference re bn made to. And besides i can defend my deen |
Joshthefirst: this is a blatant lie. Stop spreading lies here. I have said christianity is more than just religion. Those who practice empty religious practices are shallow. And do not know God.Now. ....who do i believe? |
rationalmind: So, the op is a muslim. Pathetic. So, pathetic.if you deemed it pathetic been a Muslim. Tell me why pls... |
italo: If you are a Muslim, why are you telling Christians to defend their belief.i said some quotes from the Bible and i asked you pple to defend them. buh no one is answering me.. ...if you're going to convince pple to join your creed, then you must answer the questions asked. |
italo: New Jerusalem Bible, New American Bible, Duoay-Rheims etc.ohhh... sorry, I'm a Muslim |
italo: Read the Catholic Bible.so what version re you using or can you give me a name? thanks |
"but in vain they do worship me teaching for doctrines the commandment of men" (Matthew15:9) said Jesus. whose doctrine re we following men or Jesus? where's the Bible from? |
italo: King James version is not Bible. NWT is a total mutilation of the Bible. It is an adulteration of the Bible. Then where's the original? |
thorpido: You are a catholic so you can't know any better than you've been taught.my brother, we've heard its not a religion, can you answer my questions or you're also going to feign mute to it? |
History has shown that the Bible has been changed. The revised American standard version(1952 and 1971), The American standard Bible and The new world Translation have expunged certain verses that are found in the King James version. The readers digest has reduced the old testament by 50% and the new testament by abt 25%. who's making the changes, God or Men ?? "but in vain they do worship me teaching for doctrines the commandment of men" (Matthew15:9) |
Peter continues with a mandate for the defense of our beliefs, "…always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you…" (v. 15b). The Christian must be to explain why he believes what he believes. God gave us brains with which to think, He provided evidence of His existence in nature (Romans 1:18-23), and He supplies specific revelation of Himself through His prophets and apostles recorded in the Bible (II Peter 1:19-21). The believer should prepare to defend the Gospel (Jude 1:3). where re thou Christians. Answer my question and defend your faith |
so if Christians re going to convince me Christianity is the right path. The best they can do is mute. Is it better to mute and keep deceiving oursefs? I'm not saying here my belief is the right path. convince, admonish us Christianity is. Simple! |
Brothers, no insults pls |
MonsieurCoder: Everything in that book is a made up political propagandaseriously, I've not come across a Christian that can defend his/her belief. They seem to run away |
thorpido: Does a man have a religion with his father? When we say Christianity is not a religion,it is because we have a relationship and a fellowship with God-the Father.my brother you're going back. we ve settled the issue that its not a religion toyou. OK? now someone shd ans my points made abt luke and jesus's prophecy. Thanks |
Luke said in his recordings in 1:2-3 "Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word, it seemed good to me also, having held perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus...." If luke had said that he himself was not an eye witness and the knowledge he gathered was from eyewitnesses and not as words inspired by God. Then is Bible God's words ?? |
Brothers, did you know jesus prophesied in the Bible that people would worship him uselessly and believe in doctrines made by men: "but in vain they do worship me teaching for doctrines the commandment of men" (Matthew15:9) And look at it today, where's the origin of Bible? is it From God or men? |
Emusan: If you have been on NL since 2008 yet you can still make this statement then something is wrong somewhere. My brother when i made a point i didn't refer you to google. pls help by contributing not referring. And besides i didn't find sth convincing when searching through google. Thanks |
macof: I have since known that u have mental problemsmy brother i said no insults |
if you're going to call a book holy, then it must be free of errors, contradictions and controversies. since holy means its from God and you don't expect God to make mistakes, do you? |
le me ask a question, is the Bible holy? if yes proof it |
Neither judaism nor Christianity is found in the Bible or in a Bible dictionary. No Israelites prophet said the word 'judaism'. Jesus never claimed to establish Christianity and never called himself a Christian. The Word Christian is mentioned only three times in the new testament and first by pagans and jews in antioch about 43 A.D. long after Jesus had left this earth. in Acts 11:26 "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch". Then Agrippa said unto Paul:"Almost thou persuade me to be a Christian" So the name Christian was first given by foes of christianity then. And finally, Peter in his letter to comfort the faithful in I Peter 4: 16 "yet if any man suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed" So what was the religion of Jesus |
who knows the origin of Christianity or how dd it started. And besides Christianity is mentioned only three times in the Bible |
So, what is the history of Christianity? |
hmmm....I'm starting to enjoy this |
