In summary, the trigger for Russia to invade, was the "Declaration of Independence, by Luganks and Donesk Republics (Dombas) and this also has to do with the behaviour of Ukranian Govt towards those breakaway regions, since 2014.
Russia just have to invade, to prevent another massacre of Ethnic Russians, otherwise, Ukraine was ready to unleash its full military force on them, for daring to declare themselves Sovereign States.

But if the American Intelligence was as good as you claim, they should have veeb able to predict the Date and the Trigger .. and then prepare Ukraine for the fall out, so that Russia could not invade.

3) there was agreement in 2014 and then in 2015 (called Minsk 1 and Minsk 2 agreements) that is supposed to provide a pathway for resolution of the "Dombass Conflict" between Ukraine and the Ethnic Russians living within Ukraine, who are indigenous to that area of Dombass but guess what? Ukraine refused to implement the agreement it singed and continued to use excessive miliatry force, against those Ethnic Russians
4) Ukrainian Supremacist, Nazis banded together to form a Militia called the Arzov battalion, they go around killing anyone who spoke Russian language in Ukraine. Russian has been protesting against this since 2014. These same Neo-Nazis overthrew the democratically elected President and Govt of Ukraine (Maidan Revolution) simply because that President wanted a good relationship between his country and Russia!
5) NATO Alliance signed an agreement in the 1990's, when USSR imploded, not to expand Eastwards towards Russia but right now, Ukraine is the only remaining country, apart from Belarus, surrounding Russia, that is not a NATO member. NATO has assimilated all of them, encircled Russia and stationed weapons in those country, thereby threatening Russia's Existence.

We could go on and on but in all these, for the past Eight years, Russia has been exploring Peaceful means to resolve the "Security problem" this actions in Ukraine, were presenting to his country,

Who in his right senses, will not admire such a personality or do you want to compare him to "Sleepy Joe" in America or your own "Baba Go-Slow" in Nigeria?

Russia went to War with Georgia, some years back, on the prompting of NATO and America, just as we have with Ukraine right now.

As of Today, Georgia has said that it will not join others to sanction Russia.
What does that tell us?

All these Baltic Countries, if they have sense, they will maintain cordial relationship with their neighbour, Russia.
They should not continue to allow US to use them as a staging post to threaten Russia because it will be their own problem, when fighting breaks out with Russia.

A Ship is kinda soft target in such situations. It could be easily attacked and sunk by bombers. It's what will follow after that sinking that is dreaded.

If it was a US ship it couldn't have done anything least of all Russia. No ship in the world can do shit given that scenario so don't see that as a sign of weakness. That Iran could only threaten is where the weakness comes in.
Even Russia hasn't dared attack a British ship it felt is trespassing. They only warn and threaten and that's respect for power.

When turkey shot down a Russian jet what could they do even though Turkey is like a next door neighbour. Russia couldn't do shit militarily.

Britain is still a Nuclear Power, so it still has to be respected.
A British Merchant Ship being seized, is different from seizing a Warship, like a Frigate!
but having said that, Iran too, has an appreciable Naval presense.

Turkey shooting down a Russia jet was defined as a MISTAKE, by Turkey. Apologies were made and the matter was allowed to die. Not that Russia would have started a war over such minor issue, since the offender accepted it was a mistake.
Mind you, both of them are "Allies" in Syria, against US and Israel.
