Business / Importation Is Sweet But E-commerce Is A Babe - See Importer Mistake by smatinfo: 8:59pm On Dec 11, 2018
Must guys want to become an importer, but for small scale it bad because you will be leaving money on the table unknowingly
I have tried importation it working and it will still be working but I realize that am loosing money by not doing ecommerce instead of importation.
For example, you get a keyboard from china for 1k, you plan to sell for 5k, it a big profit right?
Duration for shipping it usually more than 7days for normal shipping, within that 7 days you can get same keyboard from local market and for 2k or 2.5k and sell for 5k, let assume you get 2 orders everyday for 7 days, so will make profit of 35k.
i.e you're loosing 35k just becox u're waiting for your item arrival.

My point is this for small scale importer should look into ecommerce first not importation, then you can scale later. it just my point of view based on my past experience in this biz.

I hope this will help somebori.

Thanks. < b > < i > Olawhizzy< i/ >< / b >
Sports / French Spiderman Alain Robert Climbing The 46 Storey Heron Tower by smatinfo: 10:14am On Oct 26, 2018
French Spiderman Alain Robert climbing the 46 storey Heron Tower

French Spiderman, Alain Robert took around an hour to scale a 46 storey building, a 230-metre high tower in London without ropes or safety equipment.

But he was arrested by police for creating a traffic snarl as bemused crowds packed the streets below the Heron Tower in the city’s financial district.

Police in the City of London, the capital’s square-mile financial centre, confirmed Robert was arrested “for causing a public nuisance” and remained in custody for much of Thursday.

“This is what I love to do,” Robert had told a handful of reporters at a nearby hotel shortly before beginning his ascent.

“I have pretty much dedicated my whole life to climb mountains, to climb cliffs, and now to climb buildings — but always ‘free soloing’, meaning I’m not using safety devices.”

The maverick climber has scaled more than 100 structures globally — including several in London previously — setting a record for “most buildings climbed unassisted,” according to Guinness World Records.

Earlier this year, he was forced to abandon climbing the world’s fifth-tallest tower in Seoul, South Korea, after the 123-storey building’s security confronted him halfway up.

Robert admitted Thursday he was “very nervous”, adding he always felt anxious ahead of an ascent.

“When I start climbing it’s OK, because I know I’m going to be completely focused,” he added.

“But at this point of time I’m a little bit shaky.”

The Frenchman, who climbed with a small camera on his forehead, soon attracted hordes of mobile phone-wielding onlookers after starting at lunchtime from busy Bishopsgate on the southwestern side of the building.

Police arrived within minutes and cordoned off nearby roads, quickly clogging traffic in the area.

“It’s weird — that’s my office,” said 36-year-old finance worker John Doherty, gazing up at Robert as he tackled the lower section of the mixed-use tower, home to offices, restaurants and a bar.

“I’ve just come back from lunch and it’s a surprise.”

Robert threw his arms in the air in apparent jubilation after reaching the top before disappearing out of sight.

Prior to the stunt, he said he “definitely expected” to be detained — as had occurred after his six other climbs in the British capital.

“They always arrest me,” he added. “(In) ’95 they were nice, and then after (it) started to get more complicated after 9/11 and everything.”

Several skyscrapers in London, including the tower at Canary Wharf, have taken out injunctions against Robert to prevent him climbing them again, according to his manager Bryan Yeubrey.

He said Thursday’s site was chosen from a shortlist of three, which also included the 224-metres-high Leadenhall Building — nicknamed “the cheesegrater” — and the 38-story “Walkie-Talkie” tower.

“He just wanted to climb in London again,” Yeubrey explained.

However, City of London Police criticised the stunt for causing “immense disruption to everyday business”.

“It also posed a significant level of risk to the safety of people in and around Heron Tower at the time,” said Commander Karen Baxter.

Jobs/Vacancies / N-power Graduates To Receive Stipends Beyond Dec. 2018 by smatinfo: 11:45am On Oct 24, 2018
N-Power graduates to receive stipends beyond Dec. 2018

The Federal Government has decided to continue paying the stipends of the N-Power 2016 Batch 1 beneficiaries beyond the expiry month of December 2018, the presidency said.

The statement issued by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Office of the Vice President, on Monday in Abuja, said funding for the continued payments is contained in the 2018 budget.

However, Akande said that beyond the payments of stipends, the Federal Government is also exploring further options to seamlessly move the beneficiaries from the government job programme to positions where they were able to earn a sustainable income.

He said that the transition would be through a plan, designed to enable them become valuable, all-rounded employees, employers or entrepreneurs.

“The plan is basically an extension of the exit date of December 2018 for the first batch of 200,000 to enable them continue to offer their valuable services in their various communities while still earning their stipends.

“They are also to partake in the Enhancement Programme that would seamlessly transition them into numerous economic opportunities in both the public and private sectors of the economy.

“The N-Power is a job employment and empowerment scheme for hitherto unemployed Nigerian graduates under the Buhari Administration’s National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP).

“The scheme is the largest post-tertiary employment programme in Africa, comprising N-Power beneficiaries that are paid a monthly stipend of N30, 000 and are deployed as volunteers into various sectors of need in the public space, such as health, agriculture, education and public finance.

“For the first time in Nigeria, the N-Power beneficiaries applied and were selected for the programme in an objective, efficient and transparent manner, without the need for ‘connections’ to anyone of influence,’’ he said.

He said that based on conservative projections, the N-Power scheme would provide jobs for at least 10 million Nigerians by 2023.

Akande said that since it commenced in 2016, the N-Power scheme, which had beneficiaries in all the LGAs of the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT, had so far, provided jobs for half a million young Nigerian graduates nationwide.

He said that all the N-Power beneficiaries were given the opportunity to select and own electronic devices for continuous learning as they grew; depending on the selected vocations of entrepreneurship, and to boost the Knowledge Economy.

Business / AFDB To Support SMEs In Nigeria With $50m Credit Facilities by smatinfo: 11:35am On Oct 24, 2018
AfDB gives $50m to support SMEs in Nigeria

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a $50 million line of credit to Nigeria’s Fidelity Bank Plc to support small and medium sized.

The money is also meant to support women-owned enterprises in selected transformative sectors, including close to a hundred SMEs in manufacturing, health and education.

Approved by the Bank’s Board on 10 October 2018, the facility is fully dedicated to financing micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a minimum of 30 percent going to women-owned enterprises.

The loan will enhance Fidelity Bank’s liquidity and help meet the demand for medium-term funding to players in the target sectors, contributing to improved quality of lives, job and wealth creation and tax-revenue generation.

The facility complements the Government of Nigeria’s long-term development strategy, as espoused in its Vision 20:2020 agenda.

Aligned with Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan 2017-2020 (ERPG), the funding will ultimately boost enterprise competitiveness and expand Nigeria’s economic base.

The ERPG seeks to stimulate Nigeria’s economic growth, catalyse macroeconomic stability, foster diversification of the economy, and enhance social inclusion as well as governance.

According to AfDB, SMEs account for 30 per cent of Fidelity Bank’s loan portfolio.

The selection of the tier 2 Nigerian bank for this seven-year credit facility (with a grace period of two years) is based on its strong niche presence in the SME and mid-sized corporate space.

It is also in recognition of the bank’s credit management and strong track record with the African Development Bank. The Nigerian lender has previously received US$18 million and US$75 million lines of credit from the development finance institution in 2001 and 2013, respectively.

“Fidelity Bank is a niche player, focused on the SME space and this US$50 million credit line will contribute to strengthening its presence in its key market segments,” said Ebrima Faal, Senior Director, Nigeria Country Office at the African Development Bank.

“The Nigerian financial institution also continues to meet its ongoing credit obligations under the terms of previous support received from the African Development Bank.”

The line of credit to the Nigerian financial institution is consistent with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy (2013–2022). It also aligns with two of its High 5 priorities – Industrialize Africa and Improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.

Founded in 1987, Fidelity Bank Plc has grown from its marginal position into a stable banking institution.

Currently the 10th largest commercial bank in Nigeria by asset size, it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May 2005.

It has a broad client base of about four million customers nationwide, served from a network of over 240 branches and business offices, supported by alternative service delivery channels like ATMs, mobile and electronic banking, and agency banking channels.

Following its renewed digital banking and retail drive, Fidelity Bank was ranked 4th best bank in Nigeria in the retail market segment in the KPMG Banking Industry Customer Satisfaction Survey (BICSS) in 2017.

There are multiple method of campaigns objective. We can send our users to visit your website or landing page directly, this method work well for CPA, Affiliate Marketer, Ecommerce etc. .

Read More: Smartest Way To Make Money From Blogging In Nigeria

STEP1
Login to your Facebook account.

STEP2
Once logged into your Facebook account, Click the drop down arrow in the top right of the page. From this drop down menu, select 'Create Ads'

STEP3
You should now be inside the Ad Account. Let's click on 'Send people to your website'.

STEP4
A box on the left will appear. Enter the domain you want people to visit. Click 'Create Ad Account' at the bottom of the page.

Read More : What will you do with your salary?

STEP5
On this page we will select our Country, Currency and Time Zone. Click 'Set Audience & Budget'

STEP6
On this page we will set which location we want to see our ads. We can also set the Age, Gender and Language of our audience. These factors will determine how much traffic is available to our ads. The more targeted our ads become, the more our reach will decline.

For this Tutorial, I will be promoting Weight Loss products. Select the location for your offer. Be sure the select 'People who live in this location'.
I have set the age as 35-60 and also only targeted woman. This seems to be a decent demographic to start. Woman are 90% more likely to buy our products than Men. Woman who are 35-60 are the most likely to buy the products for different reasons. Woman who are 35 have likely had kids at this point and are looking to get their old body back. This is also the avg divorce age for woman. A divorced woman is likely to want to get their old body back as they reenter the dating world. We also want English speaking visitors for this tutorial.

On the top right of our page we see our 'Audience Definition'. As you can see below we are still fairly broad. Our potential reach is displayed as well. This is the total potential users in our demographic that will see our ads.

STEP7
Scroll down to the section below. In this section we will look at Detailed Targeting, Connections, Budget and Schedule.

Let's take a moment to look at 'Detailed Targeting'. We will start with 'Relationship Status'. I've selected Divorced, Single and Unspecified as the most likely demographic to purchase weight loss products for obvious reasons. Find the sub heading, 'Relationship Status' and check the boxes which apply to your campaign.

I've also included some additional criteria for targeting. Under the interests section, I selected Dieting and Dr.Oz related interests. As you can see our reach is around 22 million.

Now we will look at connections, budget and schedule. Since we are sending visitors directly to our website, we will skip the 'Connections' option.
Let's set our Budget. You can either select lifetime or daily budget of your campaign. For this tutorial we will use Daily Budget. I've set the budget to $100 per day. I've also set the schedule to run continuously. Setting a Start and end date can also be useful depending on your campaign. For example, if you are promoting a recipe offer for Thanksgiving, you might want to set the campaign to end the day after. Next, let's take a look at advanced options.

Within the advanced options section, we have a few more settings to configure.

Optimization for Ad Delivery - Set this to 'Link Clicks to Your Website'. The other option is for impressions which is not suitable for this tutorial.
Bid Amount - Set this to 'Manual' and specify a bid within the range of the 'Suggest bid' below. For this tutorial, I've set this to 0.25 per click.
When You Get Charged - Set this to 'Link Click (CPC)' as we are not working with impressions in this tutorial.
Ad Scheduling - Set this to 'Run ads all the time'
Delivery Type - Begin by setting this to standard. You might want to select Accelerated if your budget is not completely being spent with Standard Delivery.

STEP8
Once complete, click the 'Choose Ad Creative' button below.

STEP9
On the top of this page we see two options. If this is a fresh campaign, it's a good idea to select 'A single image or video in your ads' This will give you the ability to test multiple images and optimize accordingly. Once you have some images that you have tested and have been proven work, you could try the 'Multiple images in one ad' option.

STEP10
For this tutorial, click 'Select Images'

STEP11
Upload some images for your ad. You can search google for some decent images but I would highly recommend creating your own original images. Here are a few that I created for this tutorial.

Upload your images. You can also crop your images by clicking the crop icon in the corner of each image.

Let's take a look at the different distribution types. I would select all that are available for testing purposes. In this tutorial we will not be using Instagram. As traffic starts on your ads, you can determine which distribution type performs the best for your campaign. Click each of the types to get a preview of your ad. Make sure you are satisfied with the preview before you continue.

STEP12
Enter a Headline and text. Also select a 'Call-to-Action Button'. Once finished, click 'Show Advanced Options' at the bottom of the page.

STEP13
In this section enter a 'News Feed Link Description' and 'Display URL'. We will not be using 'URL Tags' in this tutorial. Click 'Place Order' once you are finished.

STEP14
Enter your payment information.

STEP15
You have just created your first campaign. As you can see, you still have to wait for your ad to be approved. You will receive a notification when your ad is approved.

Health / Why Many Nigerians Die Early by smatinfo: 6:56am On Sep 01, 2018
Brought to you by smatinfo

The life expectancy of Nigerians is said to be below 50 years

Countries like Japan, Britain, China, have life expectancy of over 70 years

The factors responsible for sending many Nigerians to early grave are mostly anthropogenic in nature

When a typical Nigerian is told the age at which an average Nigeria may die is one or two years less than 50 years, he may look at the person who make such a statement with so much disdain. He believes such a talk is not meant for him. However, the real truth is that some Nigerians sometime go beyond their limit in their day-to-day activities. Many Nigerians over use their body, and place unnecessary burden over their head in order to survive the Nigerian daily hustle.

Some of the briefly stated reasons below are responsible for cutting short the life of many Nigerians.

1. Pollution
Everywhere is polluted in Nigeria, especially fumes coming from generators in the neighbourhoods which has carbon monoxide (CO). The noise, air, water are other forms of pollution.

2. Poor nutrition
Poor feeding due to excuse of trying to save money for the rainy days. The economic situation of the country is telling on many people also.

3. Self- medication
There is a wrong notion that the doctor is not needed. Or sometimes, prayers taking over the functions of drugs due to extremism in faith

4. Stress
Society-created stress or self-created stress. No time for vacation. No time to relax with family or friends or to socialise. The hustling and bustling in a state like Lagos, is sometimes abnormal. People leave for work very early and close very late.

5. Little of rest, sleep, exercise and medical check-up
A person that works late into the night and sleep less than four hours everyday should know he is joking with his health and his life. Medically speaking, the average hour a person should sleep in a day is a minimum of six hours. How many Nigerians observe this, not to talk of going for at least an annual medical check-up
