Romance / 6 Things You Never Knew About Condoms by Smile4luv(m): 3:15pm On Jun 27, 2015 |
6 Things You Never Knew About Condoms For a very long time, condoms have been known to be highly preferred for safe intimacy and sexual relationship. However, quite a lot of people do not know some important things about condoms, how it came about and some shocking things that surrounds its usage. Here are 6 things you never knew about condoms. 1. Only 5% Of Men Around The World Wear Condoms Although it is a general belief that a condom helps in safe intimacy, it is, however, surprising that only 5% of men around the world use it. This percentage is really low considering the goal is 100%. 2. There Are Four Different Kinds Of Condoms The commonest of all the types of condoms is the latex. For men with allergies, non-latex condoms are made from polyurethane. For those who are allergic to both latex and polyurethane, the third type is made of polyisoprene. Then there are lambskin condoms, which are actually made from lamb intestines, not skin. Finally, you can always pick up female condoms, which function drastically differently but are still designed to protect against pregnancy and STIs. 3. Modern Condoms Are Made From Tires All thanks to Charles Goodyear for the first rubber vulcanisation process produced in 1855. Ever wondered why the present-day latex condoms are sometimes called “rubbers” by people like your grandfather and carnival barkers? It is because it was produced from tires. 4. Condoms Basically Have Not Been Redesigned Since They Were Invented Since the evolution of the first condom in the 1920s, it has never been redesigned despite all the advances made with bumps and ridges. It has been the way it was first produced. 5. Condoms (On Average) Do Not Really Affect How Good The Sex Is For those who think condom affect how good a sexual experience is, it is a fallacy. Surveys have shown that couples were just as satisfied with sex whether or not they used condoms. So considering condoms are 98% effective at preventing pregnancy and make sex more safer, “it doesn’t feel good” isn’t an excuse not to use one. 6. Women Account For Almost Half Of Condom Sales A popular survey has shown that women buy more condoms than men. This means the women buy for their men than men buy for themselves. Women account for at least 40% of condom sales. Which is good, because you should pretty much always have them at hand. madailygist.com/6-things-you-never-knew-about-condoms/ |

SagePerv: It is not that easy to forgive or forget such thing, Ɣε̲̣̣̣s he may forgive her but forgetting it is one big huddle to scale through. Each time you see her that picture of her dirty past comes into you head and it make you feel bad. Time will heal your wound bro, I feel your pain. Please ladies be careful of how you live your life today because it may hunt you in the nearest future. A lot of ladies send nude picture to people they don't even know, someone they met via the internet, these things can affect your marriage in the future or even destroy a home you have built with your husband. Romance / Jim Iyke, Stop Marrying Me In My Dreams by Smile4luv(m): 10:28am On May 17, 2015 |
Jim Iyke has never had it easy with the womenfolk. Most issues he has had with them he never bargained for. Just like last Monday, the actor was doing the regular thing everyone would do after meeting with who you consider your favourite governor in Nigeria. He posted a picture of himself. with Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, with catchy captions to show how much he respects the governor for his wonderful achievements in his state. His post was as harmless as it could get but one of the comments he got in return must have stopped him in his tracks. It was from a woman. Whatever Jim had done to them? None would marry him, just yet and this one wouldn’t let him be. “Jim I beg you in the name of God,stop getting married to me in my dreams. For more than three years now I have always seen you in my dreams, married to me. I have been praying every time about it but it always reoccurred. Even last night it happened again. I am tired of this. If you are his PA show him this text message and if this is you, I beg you in the name of God, to do something about it” she fired in her comment to Jim Iyke’s post of himself and Governor Akpabio in Ikot Ekpene at the commissioning of Ritman University last Monday. The comment definitely got attention of Potpourri who decided to seek the girl out who simply signed her name as Jackiify. We got lucky again. In a BBM chat with her later on, Potpourri found out that the girl is a Nigerian schooling in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She goes by the name Ify Jacob. The first thing that struck me about her comment was that this could be a girl acting out her fantasy and laying it out in a dramatic way. Then I asked her if she had ever had any crush on Jim, many girls do. “That is where the problem is” she told me bluntly. “ I never had a crush on him before but all of a sudden I started having dreams that I am married to him for more than three years now. You cannot understand because you are not Jim or a pastor. I don’t like it. It is disturbing to me” she says www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/jim-iyke-stop-marrying-me-in-my-dreams-cries-nigerian-malaysian-student/ |

Health / Ladies, 10 Beauty Sins You Need To Stop Committing by Smile4luv(m): 8:38am On Apr 17, 2015 |
There are so many beauty tips, tricks and hacks out there available to us, but there are also many ways to go wrong with makeup. Sometimes, it’s not easy to keep record of all the beauty rules, and this can lead us to committing some serious beauty sins. To avoid these unpleasant troubles, read these ten beauty sins that we all should stop committing. 1. Not having a proper beauty regimen At the very least, remove your makeup before going to sleep, exfoliate your face a couple of times a week and regularly moisturise, no matter how fresh and perfectly moisturised your skin already looks. You’d want to keep it this way for as long as possible, wouldn’t you? Exfoliation is usually done in the shower, so it wouldn’t take you extra time, and moustirising only takes about a minute, so you really have no excuse to skip it. 2. Neglecting sunblock We’ve said it already and we’ll say it again: the sun is the culprit number one, when it comes to wrinkles. Solar radiation drains the moisture out of your skin and boosts the appearance of fine line, age spots and wrinkles. And that’s actually the least of the problems that the sun can cause. So, don’t forget that sunblock is not just for the summer; winter sun can be equally harmful for the skin. 3. Overdoing it with the tan Speaking of the sun, some of us are still obsessed with getting a great tan for the beach season, and some people tend to abuse the sun, or the fake tan. Tan carefully but don’t cause yourself burns, okay? Also try to avoid prolonged sunbathing, it’s been proven to be unhealthy for you. 4. Skipping exercise Whatever time you spend on skincare, don’t neglect physical exercise neither. It doesn’t just keep your weight under control, it benefits your entire body, skin included. Exercising, which could be just fast walking on a daily basis for at least half an hour, improves your blood circulation, and good circulation is essential for healthy and beautiful looking skin. 5. Ignoring makeup expiration dates Of course, you can’t peer at the expiration date of your lipstick every time you apply it, but if you feel that it’s been around for a while, check it. That goes double for stuff you put on your eyes, especially mascara. If you like, stick a note on the mascara with the date on which you bought it, and six months later throw it away, finished or not. Mascara is among the products that can become breeding grounds for bacteria, and you really don’t want such bugs near your eyes. 6. Not removing your makeup at night We’re only humans and our energy is sometimes limited, so, of course, we can get absolutely exhausted after a long day, but this, however, is not an excuse for going to bed without removing your makeup. Just like you wouldn’t go to bed without brushing your teeth (you wouldn’t right?), you shouldn’t go to sleep without properly removing your makeup. 7. Once you you pop, you can’t stop, but you should! Every dermatologist warns against it, yet we continue to deal with sudden zits the radical way: we pop them and hope they will heal quickly. Sometimes they do, but often they don’t. Try to resist the temptation, and instead of this harsh intervention, or before it, at least, try some natural remedies like lemon (which can help efficiently dry out the zit), or camomile, which fights the bacterial infection that actually causes pimples. 8. Treating your skin harshly Your skin does not like rough treatment. This means, along with not popping zits, not wiping your skin too harshly after a shower, and not pulling, pushing or forcefully stretching it. This not only includes the time when you rub in your moisturiser, but it also includes wearing comfortable clothes that fit you well, starting from your underwear and ending with overcoats. 9. Overdoing it with shaving Some ladies find it necessary to shave strategic areas on their bodies every single day. Fast and effective as shaving is, doing it daily doesn’t do any favours to your skin. Because of constant scratching, the skin in the frequently shaved areas – and these are usually sensitive areas – will start becoming rough and chronically irritated. So, if you can’t bear the thought of seeing even a short little hair, consider waxing instead of shaving. 10. Using hot water Hot water has a serious drying effect on your skin. This is the reason why you feel so itchy after a hot shower, before you slather the moisturiser on, in case you were wondering. Wash your face and shower with warm water only. Consider cool showers as well, they can be particularly refreshing in the warm months. Cool water combined with gentle exfoliation will not only make your skin feel wonderful, but it will also energise and refresh you. Politics / Okotie’s Message For Jonathan & Buhari by Smile4luv(m): 6:05am On Mar 29, 2015 |
As we await the result of the presidential election, let us continue to sound it loud and clear, as Rev. Chris Okotie did in his Facebook piece, titled, A Message for Jonathan and Buhari, that the two political gladiators should accept the verdict with equanimity. The admonition becomes imperative as the paradox of the structure of our politicking continues to baffle even the most optimistic watchers of events. This troubling trajectory means that the events of the days following the March 28 elections may be critical as we still have another round of voting on April 11, 2015. The heated campaigns have been worrisome to observers and we hope this process ends well. With hindsight, we can say that our politician’s inability to resolve intra and inter party conflicts amicably is a serious flaw in our nascent democracy. The cheerleaders in this cesspit of murky politicking are the beneficiaries and cronies of politicians who have benefits at stake in this degenerate style of partisan politics. Also, aside this media gibberish that marked these campaigns, the dangerous trend of unruliness which the rampaging foot- soldiers and campaign trains have subjected the same electorate they are courting to, is in itself a show of absolute disregard for the people; Nigerians went through temporary lull in economic activities because of these elections, and one can only hope that whatever losses they have suffered is worth it at the end of the day. Despite the ominous picture which these campaigns painted in the minds of the electorate these past weeks, voters must be wise and not be swayed by the ethnic and religious sentiments which have been some of the underlying emotions that the devisors of these calumny campaigns have adopted, as we go for the next round of voting. Section 102 of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) prohibits the employment of base sentiments as campaign or broadcasting tools. Yet, it is ironic that despite this law, in full glare of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the law various enforcement agencies, sectional and faceless support groups have openly deployed these emotions in their campaigns. A critical question in this vicious circle is this: Can our aspiring leaders who emerge out of the rummages of these elections stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their counterparts around the world with their uninspiring display of primitive politics? The answer is no! After 16 years of a chequered and stagnant democratic run, what we need now is not a cunning sleigh of hands in relying on specious sentiments; to upstage opponents, rather, we need to be won-over with outlines and timelines of realistic re- structuring agenda on issues that affront the progress of our economy. Okotie reminds us: “Politicians seeking elective offices are being asked questions about their record of public service; about their integrity; about their competence or lack thereof. It is a whole new ball game; a far cry from some previous elections when the outcomes were generally well known before the ballot was cast… We must see impact-driven growth and the evidence of our rising economic profile on our citizens. What we demand from our politicians is how to revamp the economy to achieve a strong, private sector-led growth; not how they would tear the nation apart if the elections don’t go their way”. The Pastor-Politician rounded-up his message brilliantly: “Millions are going to vote because they want their lives changed or transformed, not because they expect to die in the exercise… Every Nigerian must therefore hear this loud and clear: go out and vote; and equally important, respect the outcome. Let the politicians receive this with equanimity and philosophical discernment”. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians so that the labour of our heroes past must never be in vain. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/okoties-message-for-jonathan-buhari/ |

Politics / Police Arrest Okorocha’s SSA, 4 Others For Stockpiling Arms by Smile4luv(m): 8:43am On Mar 28, 2015 |
Imo State Police Command yeaterday in Owerri, arrested Mr. Okechukwu Okorocha, the Senior Special Adviser, SSA, on Security Matters, to Governor Rochas Okorocha, for allegedly stockpiling arms and ammunition apparently for the purpose of disrupting election in the State. Similarly, four members of Imo Security Network, ISN, a security contraption established by the Rochas Okorocha administration, are also cooling their heels in police cells for the same offence. Parading the suspects before newsmen at the State Police Headquarters, Owerri, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Evbakhavbokun, said that the arrest of the security aide and ISN personnel, followed a tip off. “The arrest of the SSA and the illegal security personnel followed a very reliable tip off and subsequent search operation conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, at his house and premises led to the recovery of the arms and ammunitions”, the CP said. The Imo Police boss, who spoke through Public Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, a deputy superintendent of police, DSP, disclosed that “in the course of the operation, the police recovered three pump action automatic rifles, 24 life cartridges and a Ken WalkieTalkie”. Continuing, the CP said that in a similar operation at the security post of Imo Security Network at Egbeada Housing Estate, on the outskirts of Owerri Municipality, apprehended four members of Okorocha’s ISN, as well as recovered three automatic pump action riffles and 14 live cartridges. He gave the names of the suspects as Kelechi Onuoha, Chigozie Uzowuru, Osita Obiako and Aka Linus. On why the Okorocha men were stockpiling arms and ammunitions, the CP said it was aimed at disrupting the general elections in the state. Answering a question, the CP recalled that soon after assuming office in Imo, he issued a warning that all unapproved security outfits should surrender their arms to the Police. “The arrest of the suspects was in order, considering the time for the general election scheduled to begin today”, the CP said. Speaking to newsmen, the SSA to the Governor explained that before his arrest, he had asked his men to surrender their arms for onward submission to the police, adding that since his directive, he had surrendered a number of arms to the police, which is in their inventory. “I was surprised to see arms recovered in one of my rooms. The recovered arms may be the ones ISN members could not return earlier before I traveled”, Mr. Okorocha said. He further explained that before now, his men had been working closely with the police, adding that Imo Security Network has contributed in the reduction of kidnapping in the state. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/police-arrest-okorochas-ssa-4-others-for-stockpiling-arms/ |

Nairaland / General / Governor Rochas Okorocha Escapes Death by Smile4luv(m): 8:21am On Mar 26, 2015 |
A major disaster was averted yesterday in Imo state as a pedestrian bridge built by Governor Rochas Okorocha at Heroes’ Children’s Park collapsed while the governor was on the bridge. According to 247Nigeriannews, the incident happened when the governor stopped over on his way to the Nigerian Union of Journalists Governorship Debate to interact with some students of Development Comprehensive Secondary School, Owerri, who were around the park when he came. Trouble however started when Okorocha beckoned on the students to climb the bridge so he could teach and inspire them on how to become leaders. No sooner had the governor started the teachings, the bridge caved in with the iron bracing of the bridge cut under the weight of the governor and the students and the students started shouting “Jesus! Jesus!!” out of panic. The governor’s aides, especially the members of the security operatives, started shouting to the students: “Jump out!, get down!, jump out!” In the midst of the confusion, the governor appealed to the students saying, “we’re too many here, please jump down”. The was constructed two years ago by the governor’s administration. Two weeks ago, the convoy of the governor was involved in a road accident that left several supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) injured. talkofnaija.com/politics/governor-rochas-okorocha-escapes-death-as-bridge-collapses |
