Your questions are welcomed, though too much of it may be so confusing. the essay is not a difficult one at all. all they need is your command of English and expression. And it is a general one for all candidates. Our was, write about ur journey to Makurdi and the second was an application to the minister of defence on why you want to join the military. So expect anything, read wide cos I learnt u are going to write a general test before the first shortlistment. So do not rest on ur oars by depending on all my hints. Just prepare for the worst.

CAN YOU PLS TELL US WHAT WAS THE FIRST THREE WKS SCREENING ABOUT. HOW MANY KM IS D RACE, AND OTHER THINS LIKE THAT.

Well, the 3 weeks screening is a very interesting one. All they do within the three weeks is to test u both medically and intellectually. The medical includes weight, height, BP, ECG, hepatitis and other blood and urine general tests. Medical takes 90% of the weeks. You must pass medical before being allowed to take part in the 3.2km race. It is also in the medical that many people are being dropped.You have to pass every tests. After the medical come the 3.2km race which you must make it in 18 minutes, for the female last year they gave them 22 minutes, don't hw this year will be. Thereafter you go for the written test. Where u'll write an essay and answer Lexis and structures and general arithmetics questions. Don't forget ur current affairs very important. The final stage is the board interview. Here you'll be asked questions on ur discipline, current affairs and they will also test ur reading ability. All wat is required at this stage is ur confidence and a mastery of ur course of study. For the first shortlisted 20, dat is the preliminary stage. Out of the 20 last year only 5 were finally shortlisted for the training. I really dont know how this year's will be.

The truth is whether u'r SSC or DSSC so long as u come to NDA u train for nine months. So we resume training with Navy same tym as such uses same calender of events. Jus like I said earlier, they are exempted frm major camp exercises. They are not both broda!!!

Yes to ur question. My course SSC 41 will be making history come Saturday because we shall be passing out with the first set of female combatant in the hisory of the NA. They are three in number. So the policy has been reviewed and female are being recruited into the combantant programe. Hope u'll be among the next course. Takia

Does Navy and Army do training together at same camp during the 1st 3 months?

Even up to nw we train together, though there are some bush exercises they (Navy) are excluded from. We are all together frm day one and hopefully passing out together.

@ MKO, let me quickly appologies to u guys for not being there for u all these while. Believe u me u'll not understand. Anyway, I promise by the special grace of God I will continue to giv u guys neccessary hints and likely challenges u'll face from now to when u'll find urselves either in Makurdi for the Dssc or NDA for the Ssc. Jus lyk u all knw, the first step is the online application, which I believe u've all done right? From here is the first shortlistment, where about 20 names per state will be shortlisted. Hopefully June the list will be out.

hi guys, it is a great honour and previlege to visit and comment on this forum once again after a very long tym. It may interest u guys to knw that last year I ws lyk virtually all of u ie an applicant into d NA. Lucky enof for me, I made the final list and by the special grace of the Almighty come next week I shall be commissioned, what a dream come tru. My advise to u guys is to continue praying and be very hard working cos d Army job needs brave minds. The training in the Nigerian Defence Academy is a very interesting one. I wish u guys all the very best. Hoping to see some of u during my POP come Saturday next week.

U're very correct sir! The screening exercise for both almost took place simultaneously! We were on medicals at Makurdi when Navy made their shortlisment. I knw of a frnd frm my state that was unable to attend that of Navy even though he was shortlisted. But we need to knw u'r state pls!

Heading to Makurdi next week for my Nigeria Army short service combatant screening exercise, jus been shortlisted. However my hope with Fbn come Oct is still very much alive. Hause plsssz wish me luck!!!

@calabaman, 'Sit up', eeeeasy! U're right we really need to talk. Went for a little jugging, trying to kip fit before the D day. Learnt the screening Centre is at Makurdi come july 8. Pls what do we really need to go with?

Hello peeps, its fun being here, though am new here. Very unfortunate for me that I'm jus gettn the gist that some of us that did the FBN interview are already in training skul. I must say a big congrats to u guys. However after the interview, I didn't get the Congratulatory sms apart fom the contact details update. Frm all that I'v read frm previous posts, it seems we (those dat didn't get it) are not successful. Pls I don't mean to get anyone angry but it's jus that we need to continue soldering on. It is well wit us.
