Didn't expect Justices of the Supreme court to earn less.

I think the excuse of funding is rather lame. Jonathan n his government stashed enough cash to take care of infrastructure in tertiary education through tetfund. many schools are yet to access 2013 funds for infrastructure. The only reason only 4 colleges qualified is because they are adequately staffed.

I'm really saddened by this decision. many of these colleges have been running affiliate programs for several years. A major consideration in d upgrade was that these schools were already adequately staffed and at least 60% of their teaching staff were PhD holders. with funnel effect of those struggling to enter the existing universities one would have thought that this kinda policy would be sustained. This was one of the major achievements after several months of strike by lecturers on colleges of education. Baba should please reconsider this one, it's not political.

To tell d truth, it's a shame that people would celebrate a governor who hasn't paid workers in d past 3 months any salary. Next thing he does is to get into another publicity stunt with Christmas decorations while the people curse him. Yet we voted for change!

Please those of u blaming GEJ should listen. Kontagora is the final training ground for NA as it houses the 311 Artilary. Before you are posted to a State, you must first visit K-town. Early this year, the Emir and Commandant got different messages thanking the Commandant for helping to train their boys and as well, telling them that they will visit Kontagora soon since they train guys there to come and fight them in Maiduguri. Yah, the Soldiers in Kontagora tried by mounting different kinds of road blocks at some strategic points. It is very unfortunate that some innocent students paid the supreme prize, but that is not the issue because who knows how many Boko boys are in town. Happened not far from my office. still can't believe it, peaceful school n town n in an instant boom n every where shook. Please b security conscious, no where is safe. Thank God she didn't get to d auditorium or library or female hostels. Be vigilant no one anywhere is absolutely safe. We need to arise as a nation n condemn these acts n these people, our religious leaders can do alot in this regard along with d government.

harde2lah: I get your point though and I use to feel the same way. However, I will suggest you read through gbawe's posts again carefully and with an open mind. This is not Fashola's time. The SW votes alone cannot bring in Fashola. SE cannot be trusted, The northern electorates will not be motivated enough to casts their votes. Where does that leave APC? This is only chance for APC to fully utilize the general's popularity in the North. Fashola's time will surely come.

I honestly hope his time will come, perhaps not with the sweeping broom of APC. I foresee a disintegration of APC after 2015.

Mind you the dynamics of 2015 election will be seriously different from what happened in 2011 wherein some Northern PDP Governors strategically worked for GEJ to make at least 25% in core places in the North while allowing the massive rigging to be concluded in the SS and SE. This they did with the mindset that GEJ was only going to do just one term and not having known a bit about him,they felt he could be trusted

Now the shoeless one have tasted power and the Northerners rightly or wrongly have watched in horror how GEJ have tactically tried to destroy the North with his ethnoreligious politicking. He refused to act on Boko Haram issue when they started bombing at first just immediately after his election,prefering to listen to his Ijaw people and some SEners who told him not to mind them that shebi na dem dem they are bombing

The anti-Jonathan sentiments in the North is at an all time High which APC is poised to reap from massively.....that is why JOnathanians who know what this portend for the electoral fortunes of the APC have been using so many approach and propaganda to demonise APC who is poised to benefit from Jonathan's naive politicking

I pray God to keep us all beyond 2015......i want to see how Northerners which SEners and SSners have been deriding as BHaramists,Aboki,Terrorists,Born-2-Rule and Islamic fanatics will still vote for the same man who has tactically allowed them to be brought to shame in order to satisfy people like you who thinks in a one way direction

Most Northern PDP Governors will simply look away during the Presidential elections which will come up first and allow people to vote their choice only to come back in two weeks time to do a combination of serious politicking to install a successor or get their second term ticket

If genuinely interested in Fashola, why has your argument not consistently remained about selling the virtues of the Lagos Governor? Why veer towards Buhari who has nothing to do with this issue given that he is not the only Northerner vying for the APC ticket?

I've not gone against Fasholas candidature n I'm not pro Jonathan. mine was a response to d pro buhari camp who believe he can deliver bulk vote from d north. I've stated what's going to happen if buhari stands against GEJ. This is d basis of my stance, why not Fashola. BTW I live in d north, I feel what d people here do n say.

It's a pity many so called political exponents on this forum don't understand that Buhari can't deliver any longer even in the north. In many parts of d north, politicians use buhari to campaign n get into office. these same politicians don't encourage people to vote for buhari, It's y GEJ will split votes with him in d core north n sweep d middle belt. Kelly32: The answer is simple. APC is a child born out of the influence of the North over the south with the sole aim of bringing the North to power. Any thing other than this, APC would not have been born. So if Fashiola gets the presidential ticket the north (being the influencing power over the south) will benefit nothing from this. Hence fashiola (at least for now) cannot be presented as the APC presidential flag bearer.

The sad truth. Worse still however is the poor notion of many Southerners have that the north is united in their choice of Buhari. Most northern politicians actually don't want buhari as president n will campaign actively against him

@neenar, non of d mentioned guys had d popularity like Fashola has now. Non also had a strong political base n platform like d APC. I'll vote him any day.
my greatest fear is that APC as a party will wane in strength n popularity after 2015 leaving Fashola weaker plus Nigerians are quick to forget.

I am not a fan of APC but watching Fashola in the last few months gives me a feeling he could truly be d greatest asset in d arsenal of APC against d PDP and Jonathan in 2015.
What's stopping him? If APC is truly sincere, why not present him?

while many will argue that trousers are for both sexes it is important to note d following, even in d west, women started wearing trousers in d early twentieth century. initially it wasn't even accepted, d first woman to wear trousers to the US Senate did So in 1989. The devil makes d world change God's standards, just like d definition of marriage has changed from between man n woman to any two adults, go check any modern dictionary. first year in marriage wasn't easy. for a really harsh person like me, God designed the 1st year to humble me. She got pregnant d first month and d sicknesses started , d doctor got tired of us, night n day she vomited n had pains n cried. I cooked, washed, cleaned vomit etc. Ran home from work several times to attend to her, the whole thing really humbled me n I earned her respect. The baby came n now I can yab her. I learned not to shout, but to b quiet n patient. inspite of our short comings, we've learnt to bond well. I keep learning every day, satisfying a woman is no small deal.
