It was stated categorically on the very first page that I want to give back to this forum, particularly the Travel section. It's either those that felt disappointed did not read or they are just in denial.
I have a principle of how I do my things and I stick with it. My giveaways have always have a theme and this one will not be an exception.

If your most active section is Romance, never contributed anything to the Travel section, I'm sorry you aren't qualified this time.

Let me modify the requirement.

At least ONE of the below MUST be met.

1. At least 5 posts in the Travel section older than 28 Dec, 2022.

2. At least a topic opened in the Travel section older than 28 Dec, 2022.

3. Even if you have no post or topic in the Travel section, Travel section should be one of your most active sections.

I saw that you had a great suggestion of selecting randomly from each page. However, this does not completely eliminate one person with alternate accounts being selected more than once.

Okay guys, here's how it's going to be.

Firstly, It'll be 10k for 27 people.

Secondly, I see lot of first come first serve suggestions on the first 3 pages. I was tempted to go with that idea as it will make my life easier but then I realized that people posted with lots of alternate accounts. Hence the idea of FCFS is not making sense at this time.

There were other suggestions as well but here's how it will play out.


I will create a separate thread and at exactly 10:27PM naija time, I will post a set of questions on the new thread. These will be simple questions and the best 27 answers will be selected.

NOTE: You will only have 10 minutes to answer. At exactly 10:38PM naija time, no more answers will be accepted.
And for the space bookers, I would not say you shouldn't.

I'll post the link to the new thread on the first page of this thread later today.

But since you want the number 27 to reflect, why not make it 1000 to get through 270 people ( that's 27 X 10).

As little as it is it will reach more.

Oh boy...how I wan take handle 270 people Besides, the purpose is still defeated. 270 is not 27.

Yes na me. Whats your point sir? If you're open minded enough, you would know there's a difference between you asking for help and someone gifting you something you didn't ask for.

I'll suggest they state convincing reasons why they need it, how they celebrated last Xmas, check their post history on nairaland, how the money will go a long way to help them, etc
Ensure your selection comprises: Families that are passing through hard times now, students, private school teachers that aren't paid December salary, and many more.

My own submission though, some ideas might help here

Hi fam, this is your guy, Snowland. I know it's been a while since I did a public giveaway. Here's one before the year ends.

I'm giving away a total of N270,000 and I'm going to need assistance with selecting the lucky winners.

In case you're wondering why 270k, here's why.

About 10 years ago, precisely 12/27/2012, I attended my first and last F1 student visa interview at the US consulate, Abuja and the journey to where I am today started on that day.

Nairaland was extremely instrumental to my adequate preparation, hence I want to give back to this forum once again, particularly in this Travel section.

I'm thinking giving out 10k to 27 people or 27k to 10 people.

Here's what I need help with:

1. 27k to 10 people OR 10k to 27 people. Please like either of the 2 posts below to indicate your choice.

2. I need suggestions how to select this winners.

Suggestions to Number 2 above, with the most likes will be adopted.

UPDATED UPDATE: Once this thread gets to end of 4TH page, suggestion with the most likes, no matter how ridiculous it sounds, WILL be adopted.

LATEST UPDATE: I see lots of people suggesting 5k for 54 people. In as much as the idea sounds laudable, the reason I wanted to give the 270k out will be defeated. The numbers 10 and 27 need to be represented.

I thought as much. I'm trying to limit where I visit to Oshogbo metropolis because of security concern. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Lol. My brother, no matter how bad things are in naija, naija go always be our home. I got to look at the bright side, if not nobody go come this country again.
Honestly, the noise on the road from Okada driving recklessly, to the korope drivers acting Vin Diesel's fast and furious, not forgetting the private car drivers acting like the lords of the road, are things that I really missed.

The other day, I saw some kids playing soccer with monkey posts, I got nostalgic instantly and I could not resist the urge to join those happy kids. I played one set with them for about 25 minutes and so far, it's the highlight of my trip back home.
I missed the good part of naija.

Anyways, how you dey?
