makano: Hello Snow
Since you said you have nobody to sponsor you which I don't really understand, If you have enough money to sponsor your education in Canada, then you can be a self sponsored applicant... But there is more to being Self sponsored, do you have dependents, do you have assets in your home country, apart from your studies, do you have more than enough to cater for your other expenses, also do you have a solid inflow and outflow of transactions in the past months?
Remember Visa officers do not just look at the closing balance, they also check the transaction history of the statement of account submitted to know if the inflow and outflow of the Self sponsored applicant is convincing enough...
Peace.. exactly my problem ...as for my expenses I can sort it out ...but others are my major problem |

Beancounter93: I know a lot of people won't like me for saying this
But let's be honest, the students are not fair to their school
Yes, I went to university for cheap. My fees were N2000, my accommodation was N90 per semester. Meanwhile, the hostels were trash, the library had outdated books, the labs were using equipment our fathers and dare i say grandfathers used when they were students, and the computer science department had 4 computers for the whole department 100l to 400l. All for fees which at the time were very cheap...and which meant that the university could not afford improvements
The fees of NAU are around N120000 per semester. That is less than 300 us dollars. Yet, these people protesting want their unviersity to look like one where the fees is 30000 dollars....on actual fees of less than 300 us dollars.
Is that realistic.?
Nigerians complain all day long about how bad their unviersites are, and how we are producing half backed graduates, and yet vote for governments who keep us resource dependent because we somehow have this idea that we can fund our unviersites by selling oil and other things . And the fact is, the price of the things we sell are so volatile that we cannot even earn a steady revenue from them over time, so we have to take loans to make the difference. Meanwhile countries that are far more industrial than we are have money to fund their unis well well...AND STILL CHARGE HIGHER FEES.
So the students should go and sit down, and let their governor increase the fees. Or else they should accept the state governor charging taxes at a rate of 50% per annum for everyone...everyone including the beggar on the street...to give them free education, because that's how most sensible European countries like Denmark, where education is free in return for half your salary in taxes... do it. Or they should stop complaining about bad facilities and just accept them ...because one cannot pay N2000 for a Toyota corolla and expect to get a toyota. corolla.
Because, as one VC of one Nigerian university said three years ago...if you want Cambridge level degrees, you pay Cmabridge level fees.
Nigerians should stop engaging in magical thinking. Either we raise fees....or we raise taxes...or we take more loans ....or we stop complaining and accept the bad facilites as they are.
Good afternoon. trash |

khasm: What i meant is, once you can enter with a visit visa, and you have a pr person that can give you an offer e.g as a caregiver, baby sitter or nanny, and this can be evidenced, i understand there is a program you can enter which can lead to a pr journey after canadian work experience. This is what i was told, i doubted and asked 3 different people in canada who affirmed it. Maybe the reason getting a visit visa its an uphill task. Ask around first then quote me. I'll be here you are right |

kachikapor: Compliments of the season to everyone. Its been a while since i posted here... I trust everyone is enjoying the holidays. I have a question and i'm hoping someone here can help. My sister is planning to join us here in Quebec via express entry. However, we have been unable to get her school, National Open University (NOUN) to send her transcript to WES. All efforts to contact the school has proved abortive as we keep getting passed to someone else who passes us to someone else(you know the drill, Naija, what else is new?). Right now, i'm wondering if there is any other way to go about this. We have paid all the fees but we just can't seem to reach anyone to know what is going on. Is there anyone who did a BSc. with NOUN who was able to skip through these hurdles? I would appreciate any information you send my way.
Once again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. you can do it online ...you don't need to contact anyone ...everything is in their school website ...my uncle is working there |
Hey y'all Good Evening or whatever it is in your perspective nations, I'm a Nigerian Immigrant here in the 6ix,been up here for a while now .Next month makes it a year.
I'M not the juiciest writer, what I say here wouldn't be so eye catching or fun but its honest pure fact.
I work for a IT firm and money has not been my worry for two years now (Glory to God) but I've not been really chanced to look for a partner cos of d nature of my Job,But for these pasts fouro months I've been a little bit more loose innit.
So to d topic, I've been searching for a partner to be with here in the 6ix,I've been with White girls,A Korean Chick but not a black Canadian or AA. And we went along quite right but cultural differences played a huge role in undermining d relationship (the last one was d final straw). I got to decipher that maybe Nigerian Girls are the best for me and las las I got to settle down with one.
So therefore , I started hanging around Nigerians churches,Weddings yunno places where we can easily be ID. Gotten my few share of Nigerians Chicks here, They tend not to be the most beautiful girls a round here(But this is a thread for another nigga),but the issue I have with them is the attitude problem.
Yes I said it,NGA Chicks have terrible atitide here and I don't figure, there's this sense of high self esteem they have cos some of em where born in Canada or somewhat, or they live here now/or other reasons barely know to me .
Huge altitude Problem, and even if you're doing well there ,there's always this something extra they'll need, you can't satisfy them.and they hang around AAs a lot so they threaten to call police on you or Advance Divorce Threats (even when you're not married lol)
They tend to be bossy,Unnecessarily rude and manipulative, Very self centered and to crown it all .Always angry .
Don't know where we got it all wrong. I tell you .We should be doing this to ourselves in a foreign Land. The Biggest Problem here I've come to note is the Baby /Child Support stuff they do here. its real and although I know White people Started It but the way Nigerian women abuse the privelidge (I haven't experienced the trauma of this personally and don't wish to).
I shouldnt deviate but theres a big problem I tell you mate. Our sisters are always perturbed, I don't if I should use d word depressed or something but there's this thing always biting them Emotional or psychological that they refuse to share with their partner.
I had d roughest 2 months of my stay here in 6ix these last 2 Monthly cause of Nigerian chick,For d first time in my life I got arrested and Put in Cell.(Don't think I need to explain why to anybody)
So OGs in d house. Pls whats d move? , What Should I do . My Yoruba Co-worker suggested an East African Chick or some thing but I Havent really seen many of them here. I still believe I can get a level Headed Naija Chick but maybe not here, I thought about going back to Nigeria to find a gurl but ive heard and see stories. lol No no .
So pls any suggestions for a G.I'm 24 BTW.thanks in advanced God bless Y'all
|

Pleasant19: Unfortunately I know people who have had bad experience bringing people over. I’ve seen relationships break down because people refuse to pay back the money that their sponsors (Siblings) borrowed to support their immigration. At the same time I met a Filipino woman who told me how they do it. She came through her community here in Canada. They sponsored her and she is required to pay back in a number of years. This woman made it a priority to pay back her debt, never complained and never missed a payment. My point is people want to help but scared to get burnt. exactly ...sir/ma I understand you perfectly well ,some people from this part of the world are ungrateful I am a living witness ...but we ain't seeking for financial support ...we have already planned for everything ..all we need is job offer ...even if the employer doesn't have the capacity to pay a caregiver no problem ...we gonna look for another employer luckily for us the program permits that ...we have been searching for childcare provider job for more than a year now ....most employers prefer those in Canada ..that's why we are looking for someone that will help us to get job offer once we reach there we do the needful ..and my mum is a public health nurse with much experience so getting job in Canada won't be that hard though I know it won't be easy either . |

Petitemommy: Coming to a faceless forum and asking people for the kind of help you requested is absurd. It is not just about giving you an offer of employment just to appease someone they dont know. Nobody wants to be on the wrong side of the law in Canada.
And because they thought of their own best interest first makes them selfish! Have you thought about their living conditions in canada or if they meet the requirement for the program? Do you even know if they have such plans for their own relatives?
You shouldn't sound so entitled in your quest for help. Your reasons are valid but the way you are going on about it is not.
And nigerians in canada are very helpful. That's why you have various threads showing you how to get into canada legally. i know what am talking about but its well... |

Godbpraised: oga Canada is a lovely, place I agree. However Canada is not heaven. I advise people that if not for our stupid Nigerians leaders are. I have nothing, I am doing in Canada. It ain't heaven. People who become rich in Nigeria, and I mean very rich. The dangote's or otedola did not start leaving in Canada. I also do not support people coming to Canada illegally. But if it suits them due to the hardship experienced back home, well what can I say. I am a Nigerian first and a Nigerian would I be irrespective. I see people saying that Nigeria is the world poverty capital. But I ask myself half of the Canadian population is in one debt or the other. What then is poverty. They say health is free. Hmmm yes but someone is paying for the free health. And now the queue for seeing a specialist is growing at an alarming rate in Canada. In some cases it's when you are at the point of death they may choose to answer you. I do not what to sound pessimistic or disgusting. But this are my findings about Canada so Canada again is not heaven. pls I seriously need childcare provider or home support worker job in Canada can you help out |

I don't know why God created Nigerians to be so cruel & fraudulent, do people think they can take money to their grave?
I intentionally engage him/her to ascertain d claim.
Do we ask ourselves how Indians, Chinese & Philippinos are the dominant people in Canada?
If we continue this attitude of everything money then this generation would remain slaves & enslaved the next generation. I swear Nigerians are very wicked ...could you believe that if you are from Philippine even if you don't have money to process the whole stuff there is an organisation that will help you out and once you reach Canada you will pay them back little by little (installment).. |
