After back-to-back 1-0 wins in the first two fixtures against Stoke City and Premier League newcomers AFC Bournemouth, Brendan Rodgers will take his men to the Emirates on 24 August.
The Northern Irishman fielded Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren in the heart of the back four, while summer signings Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez were the two full-backs in the two league matches.
The former Liverpool centre-back has urged the Anfield club to build on their defensive displays.
"The problem last season, equally with the lack of goals, was conceding too much. And now they've got two clean sheets on the bounce," Carragher told Sky Sports.

Same old Arsenal
The pre-season optimism for a title challenge from Arsenal suffered an early setback with a 2-0 home defeat to an organised West Ham side on Sunday.
Having fancied Arsenal to make a go of things this year, it was a bitter let down to see them deliver a typical Arsenal-like performance.

Sports / [PICS] Why Liv'pool Must Beware Of Seria A Stars by soccerecho(m): 2:37pm On Aug 05, 2015
It’s fair to say Premier League has benefited from series of Seria A stars during the previous years.
Players such as Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry, Gianfranco Zola and Fabrizio Ravanelli are just a handful of stars to have lit up the English top flight, following moves from the Italian Peninsula.
And as great as it is reminiscing about some of the Premier League’s greatest ever imports, we find it much more entertaining to cast our mind back to players who were absolutely garbage instead.
To that end, here is our top nine Serie A to Premier League transfers that never worked out.
