Sports / 'robben Agrees Move To Man United' - We Take A Look by soccerecho(m): 12:25pm On Nov 19, 2015
British newspaper The Daily Express go with a headline on Thursday proclaiming 'Former Chelsea winger (Arjen Robben) agrees January move to Manchester United' and that would quite obviously be one of the biggest footballer stories of the year.
The Express go on to say 'ARJEN ROBBEN has agreed to become Manchester United's first signing of the January transfer window, according to reports.'
Those reports, say the Express, came from The Daily Mirror: 'The Daily Mirror claim the former Chelsea winger is unsettled as a result of the fall-out and is relishing the chance to move back to England for a second crack at the Premier League.'
The Mirror in comparison to the Express are much better on these things, so that automatically gave the story some weight. However, the article which the Express refer and link to is simply a rumour roundup from the Mirror, the entire section on Robben and Manchester United is 'Manchester United are close to signing Arjen Robben as the Bayern Munich star's rift with Robert Lewandowski continues. (Fichajes)'

Sports / Didier Drogba Tagged Fernando Torres A Joker by soccerecho(m): 12:13pm On Nov 19, 2015
Didier Drogba has mocked Fernando Torres for failing to adapt at Chelsea where the legendary striker says he was no longer a big fish in a small pond.
The Spaniard suffered after he signed for the Blues in a then British transfer record of £50m from the Reds, where he scored 65 goals in 102 league games in his three-and-a-half years.
He constantly struggled at Chelsea under a succession of top managers, including Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho, with him only scoring 20 goals in 110 Premier League appearances for the Blues before moving to AC Milan on loan last summer.

Jose Mourinho and Eden Hazard appear to be mending their relationship as rumours of a discord continue to swirl.

But following the Capital One Cup exit at Stoke, in which Hazard missed the decisive penalty, it appears the two remain on the same page.

Sports / I Am Not In Competition With Ronaldo - Lionel Messi by soccerecho(m): 6:34pm On Oct 29, 2015
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are rivals on the pitch in the eyes of soccer fans around the world as the two men battle for the title of the best. But that rivalry is just in the eys of the fans and media, because Lionel Messi says he doesn’t compete against Ronaldo.
“These are things that people say. I don’t compete with Cristiano and I suppose he would not compete with me,” Messi said in an interview with Guillem Balague on Yahoo.com.
“What I want is the very best for my teams, and that’s what I am working for.”
That might be true to Messi personally, or at least only what he is willing to publicly admit, but the two are undoubtedly still linked. There is even a Wikipedia page dedicated to their rivalry.

It was even suggested last week that Klopp could be waiting for a nod either way from the Bayern hierarchy before accepting any offer from the Reds.

Mourinho's side have made a stuttering start to the current season, losing four of their opening eight Premier League games - the same number in the whole of last term.
And former England chief Capello thinks the Blues boss should shoulder most of the blame.
"Mourinho burns out his players after a year and a half, at most two years," he told Fox Sports.
"I had already heard it when he was in Madrid and now we have confirmation in London.
"It is true that Chelsea are paying for some of their absences - like [Thibaut] Courtois - but there have also been tactical errors from the coach, who this year is not preparing for matches very well."

Per Mertesacker has offered a damning assessment of Arsenal’s Champions League defeat against Olympiakos and bluntly admitted that the players lacked both discipline and concentration.
After Arsenal had also lost their first group game against Dinamo Zagreb, they are now bottom of Group F ahead of matches against Bayern Munich and facing the prospect of a first failure to reach the last 16 since 2000. Mertesacker was withering in his appraisal of such a poor performance.
“You can imagine how the mood is,” he said. “Everyone is disappointed because this was not good enough. They took the lead three times easily and that is something that should not happen, especially when we are at home.

There are some magnificent forwards in world football at the moment.
