From the way you narrated the story,
1. She was also delayed, probably network ish as she was trying to pay or something
2. She apologized

My opinion.. You should have picked her, it's those ones that always feel like it's their right to keep you waiting that deserve this kind of treatment.

Peace cool
For a moment in between, I actually thought of picking her but I was really mad, mad at the fact that she wasn’t ready and yet she placed an order. More so, If I had picked her it would have ended in bad rating cause I know how crazy I can get with words at times

Pls guys can you do justice to this my previous questions. Will be glad to get insights
I drive the same car model and I drive only on bolt
Wake up early ( honestly I find this difficult to do) but it pays if you can
Since it’s your car, don’t chase weekday bonuses focus more on the weekend’s and weekend rides (this depends on your location though)
Look for an interactive forum for your city of choice, only way you can get first hand info
Best of luck

It’s raining and there is no surge in Lekki phase 1 huh, I’d rather stay put than drive through those Lekki lagoons for stipends.
Meanwhile make I drop this gist here

Yesterday I started the hustle (I started very late though) with a resolution that no matter how tempting an order to mainland is I wouldn’t take it, in the process and amidst other blacklisted destinations my cancellation rate shoot up to 65%. Then I said to myself I have to stop canceling orders now

Few minutes later a request came in, not far from where I parked. Destination Lekki phase1, pick up Cmart admiralty way.

Just before heading to pick up, I called rider I’m outside already (don’t want her delaying me for long for a ride of #500) she said she’ll join me in a minute. Drove down to pick up, still no sign of rider. 5 minutes later I called again,
Rider: I’m checking out now I’ll be with you shortly (I was already fuming but I been no wan spoil my gentleman, so I kept it cool)

10 minutes later I called again
Rider: I don’t know why this guy is this slow, but I’m next on the queue, will be out soon
5 minutes later still no sign of rider

A thought of zooming off in anger crossed my mind, but then I thought would she really understand the gravity of what she did if I zoomed off? So I made sure my doors was on lock and waited till this daughter of eve came out

Some minutes later, Saw her through my rare mirror checking out my plate for confirmation, then she proceeded to open the back door but oops! It’s locked
Came a little forward to the passenger side window to knock, I looked at her with a smiling face and wind down a bit. These were my exact words to her
‘’Oh! You’re finally out (she said sorry bla bla bla....please your door is locked) you see that wait wey you been no wan wait, you go wait am. You wasted my time but it’s fine (she said but I’ve apologized now) It will just be nice to give you a doze of your own medicine’’
Put my gear in reverse and screed off ( saw her standing with her shopping bags, looking at the car in awe through my side mirror)

Nice 1, d last time I drove on ehailing was during d pedpa strike
Let me share d formula I used den to calculate my money and it has always work both on surge trips and anytime my money was short I always recover it back tru fare review. What I do is B4 I start a trip I check my odometer reading and time I started d trip nw if trip was 15km and 30min, I will multiply
15km X 80.5=1207 then
30min X 11=330 then
1207+330= #1537 if trip was on surge 1.3, den multiply
1537 X 1.3=#1998

So without surge that above method note I didn't add d base fare so my money should be around #2000 or little below or above. Bt if it falls below 1500 am asking for a review and my account is always fill with review and bolt always adjust and I received my money complete.
I’m saving this! Could come in handy. Thanks Baba

Baba from my own little observation, it changes a lot especially if it’s a cruise trip (no traffic) that is above 5km

Yesterday, I took this two ladies from GIGM park at Ajah (close to Abraham Adesanya intersection) to an Estate off Ogombo road (well at least that’s what the bolt app displayed)

On our way, as I approached Abraham Adesanya, I checked Gmap to double check I was taking the right turn then I saw ‘you have arrived’ huh. For a Sec I was confused (but there is no estate for this intersection now, abi which kind wahala be this) then I took the turn. Just before raising an alarm I decided to check on the map myself with their estate name, (buzz!) na still same location

Then I asked the riders where they’re going to, they explained it’s deep inside ogombo and not here, that it must have been a glitch in the map or something.

So to the reason I am sharing this. I drove like 10min from Abraham Adesanya and like 6min off Ogombo road (note there are no traffic along this route). We got to their destination just before ending the trip, I saw 15min to trip completion. So I asked these ladies to change their destination to a landmark I picked up as we were approaching, them no wan gree o! Saying it’s the first time they will be experiencing this. That no driver as ever complained of their address or anything. I tried educating them on how the bolt algorithm works with Kilometers and time (them no gree listen o)

One of them come cap it all with the fact that they have never paid more than #600 for such trips, I was like what?? 20min of uninterrupted driving for #600? Stop playing with me ( you’ve been reaping a lot of drivers off their sweat it ends today grin)

Well With so much persuasion, they changed destination to the landmark, trip ended #1700. They were shocked! They frowned o but I made sure I took all my money (wetin concern me). After taking 2 more trips my ratings dropped, I know say na them

My Point is a lot of drivers especially we the new drivers, I not inclusive though (much thanks to this forum for this) still don’t understand how the algorithm works and in turn lose money, then complain of taking to many #500 trips undecided

Sometimes here, someone said route compensation is used to compensate drivers when the PU is kinda far; usually most times when even PU distance could be farther than destination and the trip might have even be probably rejected by most drivers.
This is another angle. But on a second think of it, I’ve had pick ups that are more than 20mins from where I was yet it was not compensated in any way taking those trips
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by SokizzRaven(m): 3:20pm On Jun 02, 2021
IFSHR:
Just as the surge label indicates, "Route compensation" it means that such destination is likely to be rejected by majority of the driver or has already being rejected, due to distance and probability of getting a trip from such area back to civilization, so it factored in the pricing that you might require driving empty back to a fairly demand area or to high demand area.
Yeah this align with my thought too
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by SokizzRaven(m): 12:25pm On Jun 02, 2021
So this morning, I took a trip all the way to awoyaya (it’s a very low demand area), it was a destination trip. I needed to see a client around that side and luckily I got a trip to the exact area, that’s not the reason for sharing this though.

On my return I decided to on my app, just maybe I could get lucky with a request towards Ajah. Few minutes later, Voila! An order came in ( heading to Lakowe golf road). What’s shocking was this order was on a surge multiplier ( for this kind area?) my eyes popped shocked

Looking in closely I discovered it’s not the usual type of surge. It was labeled ‘Route compensation’. It’s the first time I’m seeing such kind of surge.

I already have a random idea of what that kind of surge could be all about, but it will nice to hear the takes of senior comrades on this
Let we the newbies learn!

Oga, park well and mind your damn business. Jeez. Everytime I post here, someone always has something to say. Tf?
Baba, if you look at what the man has said critically and in different perspectives, you will see there is an actual sense in what he stated.
It’s good to encourage people to do things (this I’m in support of), but it’s equally bad when you do it in a way that could be detrimental to you or your livelihood.

All a zealous and determined person needs is word of reassurance on a path he’s thinking of taking, it’s not really necessary he sees results, and if he so determined he’ll make his findings and take his decision.

There’s a lot of strings attached to sharing your earnings online bro:
From the perspective of the state Government
To the App companies
To the riders
And To that man somewhere who’s probably now thinking of quitting his Job cause he thinks cab drivers make more money

Have you thought of what their submission will be?

So you work with an oil servicing coy yet you still drag scrums with those fighting to be in your level? My brother let's try to be content with what we already have see Bill Gate with all the money he has his wife still left him.

Fear God oh, there're more than a 1000 things you can do to kill boredom driving with Uber/Bolt is never one of them okay so pls don't teach me nonsense my teacher. That ph you mention I sabi am pass you. Your rating is bad simply because of your ego not because you have a job with an oil company or own ur car you're rendering a service and customers will rate you base on the services you render to them so dont think you're trying to be humble or trying to do anyone a favour by driving with Bolt otherwise, do free ride then wave with a smile at the end of every ride even after dropping off a toxic rider then we will know weather or not you care about your account.

Well, I know they reason you're driving, because of ovens... Portcharcourt girls no dey look face most of them even have money more than you that work with an oil servicing company and drives in combine.

Lower your pride, work on your rating and take the side hustle more serious because it can buy you a plot of land in Rumuosi, Ahoda or even Somewhere in Rumuodara if you're diligent enough. Oil company work has a lot of health hazard.

Be wise and make hast while the sun shines

Try updating your App. Below "Need Help", there are a couple of items. Click on "Passenger did not pay or paid less", then click on "Contact Us".

It turned out that as I was trying to simulate it on my app to see how it would work, I used a trip I had yesterday. As I clicked on "Contact us", it just loaded and a message popped up that I've been refunded N850 (that's half of the trip), and it would appear in my account within a week. I've actually been paid for the fare. Is there a way I can reverse this?

The N850 was actually credited immediately, and perhaps Bolt would have sent the rider a message regarding this.

I've sent a message to them, hopefully they rectify it before the rider's account get blocked.

In hindsight though, I probably should have just left it for a while before rectifying it. This woman ranks No. 1 in bad riders I've come in contact with.

I thank God I was in a good mood yesterday else I probably would have lost my cool. Immediately I heard, "Oga please I'm in a haste", and the way she said it, I knew she was ONE OF THEM. I just locked up. She sat at the back so it helped. "Oga drive fast na"(in Sangotedo traffic o), "Oga if you want to brake, brake once" (how do you brake once in traffic huh), "I don't even know why you are driving like this, maybe you want the money to increase (still in traffic o)".

She was fortunate she picked her kids from school, probably that's why I kept calm. I didn't utter a word till we got to destination.

Las las ehn, if you are not patient and ready to take shiit from people that are probably not up to your level in reality, don't bother venturing into e-hailing.
Thanks baba, I’ll run the update now.
Those ‘Oga I’m in a haste’ or ‘Oga why you no dey move’ people annoys me so much that sometimes I respond to the obviously rude ones with ‘Can you drive? Shey you go come take the wheel then?’
I know the worst they can do is 1star (at that point I no Dey send)

Report the ride to Bolt. All things been equal, you would be refunded half of the fare and his account would be blocked. Then you move on with your life. It's one of the hazards of the job.

You send email alert and not text message's. The rider is obviously a scammer let the plaintiff reports the trip to Bolt for his account to be blocked simple.

I want to believe he dropped him in his residence, if he can trace him then he should go there to see if he can find him by asking neighbors around.
You get the point bro! He lives in an estate that needs an invitation to enter, I for don go bang him door if not for that

Good afternoon comrades!
Abeg make una come to my aid o.

I picked this young man on Sunday evening from Osapa London Axis to paradise 2 estate. We had a good conversation during the trip, he even naratted how he and some other folks just rescued a girl from committing suicide. He even preached how closeness to Christ could have made a difference.

We got to destination, trip ended 1500. He transferred using ussd, I asked him if he had received a debit alert he said no, but he seem pretty exhausted, so I had to let him go (which I told him I don’t normally do), then he also told me to call him if I don’t get the money.
I decided to wait a little bit outside, while refreshing my mobile app, still nothing. Then a new request came in, called him that I still haven’t seen it then I drove off.

Ever since then this guy as been posting me till this very moment and just this morning he blocked my line and sent me a fake bank alert (cause I’m yet to see the credit and it’s afternoon already). It’s not even about the money anymore, he’s making a fool of me to have trusted him
Please make una help me get justice

So I thought it will be nice to share this

Yesterday I took a rider from banana island, she was heading home at VGC. On our way she received a phone call, and after she stated she’s gonn need to change destination to VI (most of the times I wouldn’t agree to this, I’d rather end the trip there, then proceed to wherever she wanna go offline) but she was really kind and subtle, moreover we were having a good conversation before the call came in, and at this point I had already gotten to Agungi before making a turn.

So I got to VI and the trip ended 1,700, I was shocked even she had to ask if there was a bonus on the trip huh. I didn’t complain or persuaded her to pay more. I took the 1,700 from her and I reported to bolt about the fare price, there was a space to state your reasons, so I did a brief narration of how the trip went and submitted.

After dropping off my next rider, checked my rides and to my surprise the fare for the trip was upgraded to 2,900, this was just within few minutes I submitted the complaints. I feel that is really commendable by bolt
