Celebrities / 21 Years Ago I Was R*ped & I Gave Birth To Twins... They’ve Grown Into Men by solagist(m): 5:04pm On May 26, 2020
A lady idebtified as Mmanti Umoh took to twitter to reveal how she was r*ped at 15 and how that sad incident led to the birth of twins boys. Her words;

'21 Years Ago, a 15 year old seeking to find her path was brutally r"ped by her employer, all she had to show was a twin birthed 9 months after.

Hid behind the childhood abuse, layers and layers of Rejection, often criticized, broken, bruised, she refused to be a statistic and..
became the standard to many more young men and women who would be battered, abused.... TODAY.... the evening and the morning and it’s the 21st Birthday of my sons. Everything has changed since the blood.

Happy Birthday KanKan and Dada.
IF I were allowed a choice of my battles, I would have chosen simpler conflicts but no, this life chose me and I will live it fully.

I have made a lot of mistakes but each time I look at both of you, I knew I did the right thing to keep you even when I didn’t know just how.

To every single teenage mom, to every young person who has been themed a mistake and misfit... here I stand your validation that “No one and nothing has the power to define who you become but you!”

Choose what you will and desire to be.. well.

.....to thousands of young men and women around Africa and the world who would be r*ped, battered, abused and denied a fair hearing just because they see us as kids.

You are not voiceless, you won’t forever be hushed. They will hear us.

You are bruised and beautiful.

When you think of the R*pist Declare:
I forgive you
I let you go
You inspire me
To stand up against R*PE
To speak up and tell my story
I will do better
I am proud of me
Thank you

Unforgiveness is too heavy to carry around with me. I cannot carry you and grow.

Celebrities / How A Businessman Was Arrested, Tortured, Framedup After Catching Senior Police by solagist(m): 3:12pm On May 07, 2020
It was gathered that CSP Umeh had been having an amorous affair with Mrs Lawrentia Asuquo, Etim's wife for a long time before he was finally caught at about 7:00pm on April 27, 2020 at their home at Aba Ukpo Estate, which is not too far from where the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in Uyo is located.
Our correspondent has uncovered how a Chief Superintendent of Police currently serving with the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Mr Celestine Umeh, arrested, detained and framed-up a businessman, Mr Clement Asuquo Etim, and two others on trumped-up charges after he was caught in bed with the wife of Mr Etim in Uyo, the state capital.
Confirming his ordeal to our Reporters, Etim said that the randy senior police officer had been having sexual affair with his wife for a long time and that he has been hoping for a day that he will catch them.
He said, “Whenever I travel to Calabar where I do my business, I usually receive reports that my wife invites her lover, CSP Umeh, to our matrimonial home to spend the night.
“They were having sexual affair in my house not minding the presence of my home help, a boy of 15 years old.”
According to Etim, luck however, ran out on the police officer and his wife when he got a tip off that CSP Umeh was in his house again to spend the night on April 27.
Following that information, Etim decided to return to Uyo.
He said, “On getting home in the evening last Monday, I caught the CSP with my wife enjoying themselves on the matrimonial bed.”
Etim said he was provoked on seeing CSP Umeh in bed with his wife and decided to confront him along with his cousin that came with him from Calabar as a witness.
Following the confrontation, the policeman ran out of Etim’s house with his wife and abandoned his SUV.
About two hours later, heavily armed officers from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad stormed his house with his adulterous wife and arrested him, his cousin, Mr Patrick Okon Edet, and his home help, Christopher Bassey.
They were taken to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
On getting to the police command, Etim said that the police tortured him and falsely accused him, his cousin and home help of “assaulting” CSP Umeh and “stealing his mobile phones".
Etim was detained illegally from April 27 to 30th when he was temporarily released to go and search for the keys of the SUV belonging to CSP Umeh which was abandoned at his house.
However, the cousin and home help were detained in police custody from April 27 April to May 4 when they were arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court in Uyo on trumped-up charges of assault and stealing.
Etim said that when he was released, he decided to go to the hospital for medical checks as blood kept coming out from one side of his ear as a result of torture by the Officer-in-Charge of General Investigation, a Superintendent of Police named Ekene Nwosu, and other policemen at the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
He said that SP Ekene used a plank to hit his ear and also assaulted his home help and kept shouting at them for fighting with Umeh.
Surprisingly, on getting to his house after he was released, Etim met his three bedroom flat apartment empty.
He said his neighbours and estate management told him that his wife came with strangers and moved out all his properties and household items and relocated to an unknown location.
"When she was confronted by people in the estate, a certain SP Ekene instructed the estate management to allow my wife leave the estate with all my properties or face the consequences," he said.
According to the charge sheet obtained by our correspondent, the three men were accused of hitting the police officer with a bottle.
Count two, three and four of the charges reads, “That you Clement Asuquo Etim, Patrick Okon Edet, and Christopher Bassey Effiong on the 27th day of April, 2020 at Aba-ukpo Estate, in the Uyo Magisterial District, unlawfully assaulted one Celestine Umeh, a Chief Superintendent of Police, by giving him fist blows all over his body and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 360 Of the Criminal Code, Cap.38, Vol, 2, Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria2000.
"That you Clement Asuquo Etim, Patrick Okon Edet, and Christopher Bassey Effiong, on the 27th day of April, 2020 at Aba-ukpo Estate, in the Uyo Magisterial District, unlawfully assaulted one Celestine Umeh, a Chief Superintendent of Police, by smashing a bottle on his head which caused him harm. Thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 364 of the Criminal Code, Cap.38. Vol.2, of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, 2000.
"That you Clement Asuquo Etim, Patrick Okon Edet, and Christopher Bassey Effiong on the 27th day of April, 2020 at Aba-ukpo Estate, in the Uyo Magisterial District, did steal Samsung phones valued at N135,000 and infinity car key being property of one Celestine Umeh, a Chief Superintendent of Police, and thereby committing an offence punishable underSection 408 of the Criminal Code."
Speaking with our Reporters over the matter, rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, whose law firm is representing Etim, his cousin and house help, said that the conduct of CSP Umeh, SP Ekene and other police officers at the Akwa Ibom State Command involved in the case was reprehensible and deserves immediate disciplinary action from the Inspector-General of Police and Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State.
He said, “I am alarmed by what these police officers have done to this man, his cousin and house help. It is reprehensible, unprofessional and damaging to the image of the Nigeria Police Force. This is one of the most repulsive cases of abuse of the police institution. Where lies the hope for Nigeria if this kind of atrocious and scandalous action is allowed to go unpunished?
“It is more troubling that the police resorted to filing a criminal charge against them in their desperation to cover-up their illegal and abominable conduct. We cannot allow this to go unpunished.”
Effiong has vowed to pursue the case to its logical conclusion until justice was done to Etim, his cousin and home help.
The Akwa Ibom Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nnudam Fredrick, when contacted, claimed not to be aware of the matter but promised to confirm if the state had such matter.
He said, “I have not been briefed about this. I cannot confirm that we have such matter but I will try my best to get the fact of this matter to know whether it actually occurred here.

Health / Centers For Disease Control And Prevention Adds Six Symptoms To Its Covid-19list by solagist(m): 3:27pm On Apr 28, 2020
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has added six new symptoms to its existing list of symptoms for COVID-19.
Before now, the known symptoms of Coronavirus are fever, cough, and shortness of breath are indications that someone might have the disease caused by the novel Coronavirus. But the CDC has now added six more conditions that may come with the disease: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.

According to CDC, the expanded symptoms list could prove important because with a limited number of test kits available, typically those seeking a test must first show symptoms.
NPR and other news outlets reported last month that loss of smell and taste were reported by some people with COVID-19. Patients with the disease caused by the coronavirus have also reported muscle pain, chills, and headache.
The symptoms usually appear within two to 14 days after exposure to the virus, the CDC says. It stresses the "emergency warning signs" for COVID-19 are trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, confusion, or inability to arouse. and bluish lips or face. People with any of these symptoms should seek medical attention immediately, the CDC says.
The coronavirus has proved highly contagious and potentially deadly, but the vast majority of people who become infected will show either no symptoms or only mild ones. The U.S., which has the highest number of confirmed cases in the world, is poised to cross the 1 million mark in coming days, with the number of deaths from the disease surpassing the annual death toll for pneumonia and flu, according to the CDC.

Health / Bravo! His Excellency Engr.seyi Makinde,the People's Governor Is Back Again by solagist(m): 8:54am On Apr 09, 2020
To the good people of Oyo State, the finest thing that happened so far in this decade, is the great news of the best performing Governor in Nigeria to recover from a short battle against the threat of COVID-19 virus. The excitement that the number one personality of "Oyo Mesi" has overcome the deadly virus is an assured hope that all will be well in the State, in Nigeria and in the world at large. Glory be to God, all thanks to the entire health personnel for a job well done.

It would be recalled that Mr. Governor was reported to have possibly contracted the virus from exposure to health workers during his active front line role to contain the situation when the first case of Corona virus hit the State. As an exemplary leader who is always ready to sacrifice everything to serve his people, the worst happened in the line of duty as the Governor tested positive to COVID-19. And as God will have it pleasing to us today, the rest is history when the results of two separate tests on the Governor came out negative and again negative. Many appreciation to the people of Oyo State for their endless prayers, well wishes, the love and support.

In the wake of the pandemic relating to Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde's led PDP government has done exceptionally well in the fight against COVID-19 so far. Which explains the total control of the State over the situation of things. There is no panic at all among the citizenry of any outrageous increase in the number of positive corona virus cases. This is as a result of the laudable measures put in place to curtail the pandemic which include; declaration of emergency and closure of schools, prohibition of commercial cab drivers from transporting more than a passenger in front seats, while tricycle riders are not expected to take any passenger in front seats, suspension of religious activities, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitizers, social distancing, disbandment of gathering with more than 30 people among others.

Now that the people's governor is fully back, we are confident that the good works will earnestly continue from where he stopped as expectations are high in this crucial period of lockdown and compulsory holiday of crises caused by COVID-19. We also believe that the renewed hope of taking Oyo State to the promised land through the "Omituntun" mandate shall flourish beyond this COVID-19 era.

We also use this avenue to appeal to the Governor to let the people of the grassroots(Local Government Areas) feel the impact of his palliative measures through close monitoring.
This could even well be achieved if all LG caretaker members are sworn in to compliment the giant efforts of the State government at the local level effectively.

To this end, we urge our people to wash their hands frequently with soap under running water. Avoid touching your face & high contact surfaces to prevent the spread of corona virus. Take Responsibility!

The Federal Government, yesterday, disclosed that it would continue to monitor the petroleum downstream sector to ensure unhindered supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, across the country during the period of the New Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic lockdown. This was even as oil marketers lamented that the lockdown was negatively affecting the movement of their staff, as vehicles were not available to convey them to the petrol stations, while over zealous security personnel were restricting their movement.
Addressing newsmen during its reinforcement of sales and distribution of petroleum products in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Zonal Controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr. Buba Abubakar, stated that so far, most petrol stations are complying with the directive of the Federal Government. He noted that in addition to the presence of its staff across all the fuel supply value chain, some of its staff had been placed on standby, to be deployed to areas where there are complaints of disruption in fuel supply. He affirmed that the DPR would continue with the monitoring of the fuel situation throughout the period of the lockdown, noting that any petrol station found hoarding the commodity would be sanctioned. Abubakar enjoined Nigerians, especially those that might be in need of the commodity during the period of the lockdown, to avoid panic buying, as the country has enough products to meet the demands of the citizens. He said, “As you can see, everything is going smoothly from the distribution, marketing and sales of the product. It is so far, so good.

The drug was reported to function as antiviral at both the entry and post-entry stages of 2019-nCoV infection . Chloroquine has also recently been reported as potential broad spectrum antiviral drug. In a very recent publication, chloroquine was reported in a press briefing by the State Council of China, indicating that chloroquine phosphate had demonstrated marked efficacy and acceptable safety in treating COVID-19 associated pneumonia in a multi-center clinical trial conducted in China.

“The study involved 10 hospitals in Wuhan, Jingzhou, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Ningbo, and 100 patients. The investigators reported that chloroquine phosphate is superior to the control in inhibiting the pneumonia associated with COVID-19, and shortening the course of the disease.”

The DG of NAFDAC noted that the drug was discontinued in Nigeria many years ago for use as anti-malarial because of the resistance that the parasite developed against it.

She said, “Therefore, sourcing the raw material – active pharmaceutical ingredient- chloroquine phosphate could be difficult.

“About four weeks ago, I approached a local manufacturing company (May and Baker), a member of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Group of Manufacturing Association of Nigeria, whose flagship product in the past was chloroquine, to make a batch of the drug for emergency stock. The company had NAFDAC approval for the production of the drug as anti-malarial many years ago before the discontinuation.”

According to Adeyeye, despite initial difficulty expressed by the managing director of the company, the hurdle was later removed, leading to the production of the drug with more to be manufactured.

She added, “He called shortly after that he was able to get the API and was asked to manufacture a batch for emergency stock just in case more people become exposed and infected with the virus. The batch has been manufactured and the company plans to make more batches if needed.

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced a 37-year-old unemployed man, Ndubuisi Uzoma, to two years imprisonment for drug trafficking.
Uzoma was arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on a charge of dealing in restricted narcotics.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge and begged the court to temper justice with mercy and give him another chance to turn a new leaf.
In his judgment, Justice Mohammed Idris, found the convict guilty as charged and accordingly convicted him.
