Dreamswayne:..... I am sorry bro but your response shows that you weren't paying close attention in the first half against Bournemouth. We dominated play because everyone was pressing especially from the front and that pushed Bournemouth back. Pepe had more space to operate and got into good positions and possibly could have had two penalties scored. ..... It wasn't so in the second half because a few of the players were tired especially Ceballos. Pepe is struggling because he doesn't have a connect yet with his fullback, hence why he is always isolated. .... It has been said here time and time again that the full backs are important to how he plays. The midfield just need to protect the back four which they did well in my opinion and we had two connects in there with Guendouzi and Ceballos pulling the strings in our dominant first half. Yet you say, there are no link ups ![]() ... Anyway, you might be Emery out, but I am waiting for the fullbacks. The points is all I am after and I definitely won't be disappointed because I know those two players will add bite to our play. Until then. |
BlueRayDick:..... You can't go all out attacking mode and not concede bro especially when Pogba was in the team. If he wasn't, I am sure Torreira wouldn't have started that match. Ceballos or Willock would have taken his place. That dude still found space to cut through us openly despite how we defended. Torreira starting was to stifle him. ..... Like I pointed out earlier, Those who defeated United countered and made theirs count, they didn't play any better than we did in terms of tactics. They just took their chances, that's all. I am happy with a point at old Trafford Baba, because the match could easily have done either way especially if Pogba was allowed free reign and James wasn't man marked the way he was by Chambers. ... If Pepe had come to the party, just as Van Persie pointed out in commentary because our tactics demanded that we had runners (take the Mancity- Wolves game for instance) then we would have had more chances to score but we only had one runner in that match and it was Saka. The rest didn't come to the party. .... I accept that the Watford game was inexcusable and if our defenders were playing the way they're now doing because they know Holding is just waiting for any mistakes to pounce and stake his claim in the first team, perhaps the Tottenham game would have been a win too but the Watford game was inexcusable and we all complained about it but that United game wasn't it. We tend to look at our strength and more or less forget about our glaring weaknesses and the strength of our opponents. We do that often but the manager doesn't which is why he is paid so much. .... We could have been higher on the table too but we are where we are now and I will take that pending the time Kieran and Bellerin come back into the squad. |
BlueRayDick:..... Which is why I said you should calm down earlier. It's just eight games into the season. I know you don't like the football he is playing recently but he is doing this only in the League and for me his reasons are justified. .... Yes, fans will go hard on him if he continues like this when he finally has his full backs in the starting eleven but until then, we should give him the benefit of the doubt. It's that simple bro. The matter no hard. |
BlueRayDick:..... And that's the problem with arguing with you bro. You tend to pick out things to suit your objectives. No be today I notice am. .... I clearly said that we can't go attacking mode with the type of defense we have. You don turn am to something else. .... Anyways, it is well. Make we drop this matter. |
Spy360:..... He just dey use grinding, grinding after we don explain taya say the man doesn't have his full backs yet and they are vital to his style of play. Make Dem continue to dey twist words, na their wahala be that. |
BlueRayDick:.... Niles point makes no sense whatsoever..... Chambers who has replaced him hasn't received a red card despite playing in the same setup Niles was playing in. That accusation is bereft of any logic abeg if you are putting it on the coach. .... We are not playing 3dms, we have never played three dms this season, at least not on the pitch. Torreira has played high up the pitch, that's not a dm position to me. How you interpret formation is down to your own analysis, that's not the coach fault. Willock too isn't a dm neither is Xhaka or Guendouzi. Torreira is the only true dm in the team and he rarely plays that position anymore. What Emery has been playing for a while is a deep playing midfielder who is the mould of Xhaka and that's why he starts in the team because Torreira cannot do what he does there. Again, misinterpretation of Tactics and roles in the team which is your fault, not the coach. ..... In the EPL recently, it doesn't matter what a team did and didn't do in their previous matches what matters is the present. I have made my point clear, what matters for me this season is champions league qualification, how the coach does it is not my business. All I am after is the points and if we do that playing beautiful football, fine, if not fine too. ... It's easy to play the smaller teams before because the top teams had far better players than them but it's no longer the same and that's what a few of us are saying here. Now, they can get just the same caliber of players top teams get because the money is available. No entitlement anymore, you have to force your way to win now. Which is my point. .... United attacked us because they know we have a makeshift defense, yet we were able to get a point there. Besides, how on Earth will we go attacking at Old Trafford with our defense That makes no sense. Every team who has won there this season did so depending deep and counter attacking them. None of them came out to play football. ....Emery can start "3dms" as you call them because he barely uses the Midfield to create chances. I have already explained that but I guess you don't even know how the coach of your team even plays. Anyway, you are entitled to your interpretation of the game and opinion and so am I. I just don't like it when people here attack others based on what they see. It's uncalled for. ..... Let it be known that I am not giving excuses for anyone, no one pays me to do that but I am stating what I see. Call it mediocrity that's your cup of tea. I am only being rational in my views. |

†************************************† Chapter 4 cont'd ..... " I didn't mention a name, madam." Mrs. Okoye stated after the unnecessary show of force from the melodramatic actress. ".....You didn't have to. Mr. Alex already did the profiling." The useless woman said, turning the discussion my way. A very useless woman indeed. Woh, if this woman try nonsense with me this morning, I go show am say I get craze too. The director looked my way and I gave her my best innocent look after which she turned her gaze back to the women who were still arguing. "Mrs. Arnold, please sit down. I am sure....." The head teacher tried to intervene, "...... I won't sit down and allow my child to be stereotyped in such a degrading manner. His fresh teacher hitting him is enough..." She started again, involving him like I was the enemy; it took a great deal of effort for me to keep my cool. ".... Oh, he spanked your boy. Waoh! That's a first. This is promising..." Mrs. Okoye cut in, mocking the reaction of Mrs. Arnold with her words. The affected woman was already shaking from rage; it was then I realized that this woman had serious issues. I was thanking my God that I was pretty smart with my reply earlier that morning else I was certain that one of us would have received slaps if not from both ends. This woman no well. "..... Mrs. Otigba, you assured me that your teachers aren't barbaric enough to hit or spank or whatever, my kid but yesterday my son was assaulted without my permission and nothing was done about it. I am raising it up now and a parent has shown to be impressed that my son was assaulted by a barbaric being." She finished, her anger focused on the director. .... My eyes flashed in rage. Lord knows I lost it at that point. I was beyond mad but I managed to keep it under control because I knew this woman could very take this beyond the school and pretty much fvcked me up. She might not have the resources but she does have the connect. It was only a matter of calling. E better make I keep quiet. ...."Yes, I remember saying that to you when you came here for enquiry but after you did, I made it clear that the head teacher had the right to spank a child if he misbehaved. You had no problems with that but the condition of asking your permission to carry out spanking wasn't included and very new to me." The director said in a clear irritated manner, squeezing her face and pulling off her glasses. She does look different without her glasses though, wonder how she would have looked in her youth. "..….Mrs. Okoye has every right to complain about the distractions caused by other pupils and never for once did she call Kelvin a nuisance but rather described his behaviour as such. Mr. Alex is new here and doesn't know the rules here to the letter. I apologize for his behaviour on his behalf but I will urge you to speak with Kelvin and let him know that his behaviour will no longer be allowed in the classroom. Please, I urge you not to be annoyed nor take this personal. We all want what's best for our kids and I am sure you do too." The director aptly replied, smartly taking control of the situation. ... Mrs. Arnold didn't seem satisfied to me but sat down nonetheless but not after giving me a very bad stare but my facial expression was indifferent. She turned forward and sat back down and I knew we will live to fight another day. This was certainly not over. A beautiful woman with an awful temper. ..... The rest of the complaints were mundane and nothing as tense at the one before. Parents complained about discipline and more than a handful decided that the class teacher should be allowed to spank an unruly child that giving the head teacher the sole right to do that was taking control away from the class teacher. The director was against it but parents were adamant, saying that they didn't want to raise spoilt, mannerless kids. .... A few other issues were discussed and the meeting was over. Snacks and drinks were shared but only the snacks and bottled water were picked by the parents because taking drinks that were not in cans but in broken bottles were beneath them. .... We moved to the classroom but troublemaker didn't follow, instead she stayed behind to speak with the director and head teacher. While I was seen as a barbarian by one parent, others were impressed with my ability to step on the head of a snake and come out unhurt. A few issues were thrashed and most seem to satisfied with my answers. I got two parents who wanted me to take their kids lesson after school but I decided to discuss it further on Whatsapp with them. A few change rinsed my hand and a smile of gratitude stayed on my lips even after the parents had all left. .... But a meeting was summoned by the director and I headed to the last and final phase of trouble for that day. |
Fkhalifa:.... Lol.... Even Pep is feeling the heat now. Aston Villa spent more than 120m last Summer to get players. Bournemouth spent a lot to get Solanke of all people. Don't care about the player but the money spent is what I am after here. Any EPL team can now go for the player they want because of the money in the League yet some people here think we are still in 2011 where Wenger got top four because he played beautiful football. ..... Some here are just plain delusional, others hate the coach for one reason or the other especially because he is not playing their favorite players but Arsenal didn't sign Emery for just breathtaking football, Wenger was giving us that steadily. He was signed for the Champions league and if he fails to get that, he will get the boot. Three damn years outside the champions league and counting. I don't care how we get it, but the koko is to get it. Results over beautiful football, whatever that means. |
Fkhalifa:.... My brother... I really don't understand where this is coming from. .... Emery has started youngsters against the big guns which to me is a man with balls but they call him a coward. I am bewildered honestly .. ..He rewards performance too which makes him a fair man and that's why the fringe players are Killing themselves on the pitch because they know if they perform, they will likely start or be on the bench in the EPL. That's a good Coach to me. ...Perhaps, he gives his opponents too much credit especially away but you have to know that our away form has been abysmal the last few seasons which is the sole reason why we have failed to qualify for the Champions league. We are outstanding at home even in this "cowardly" regime but our away form has to be fixed and if it means grinding out results to do so, I will gladly take it. Europa league don taya some of us abeg. |
BlueRayDick:..... How is a player getting red carded the fault of the coach?? Is that the first time it is happening to the very player in question which is Niles. Yet we came back up to win yet the coach is queried. Jesus!!.... Yes, I know his line ups make people scratch their heads even mine too but this man sees things we don't see in training. He has all the tools to select the lineup he wants and I think we should rather just support a man who is paid to put out line ups to play what he wants on the pitch rather than just put out formation here based on what we assume or what we have seen before. .... Most people here just believe we can roll over teams in the EPL when even the likes of Mancity and Liverpool, both champions in their own right do not find it easy to do so. That's the delusion a few of fans are not happy about. .... I didn't like Emery's appointment but I have got respect for the man because he has achieved a lot in his years of coaching. I will wait for him to get his defense sorted out before judging him because I don't think he likes what he is putting out but in my own opinion he is trying to stop us from conceding goals and in my opinion it is actually working. Majority of our goals conceded this season have come from errors made by our own players rather than the opponent's ability to score. Cut out those errors and we will have a stable defense which will give the our offense confidence to attack. .... Bro, it's just eight games.... just be calm abeg. Remember you said few weeks ago that Liverpool aren't no special team and that Mancity was the real deal well the table says otherwise now. That's football for you. I want Champions league football so bad so does the club and at this time while waiting for some of the first team players to be back, I will gladly take the points over beautiful football. We play beautiful football during Continental matches so it's not that it can't be done by Emery but he has his reasons so I will just have to go with him as he is the expert here. .... You want beautiful football, I want results and points while developing our youngsters while at it. Let's agree to disagree. |
Spy360:...... One comes in here and see men ranting like kids and attacking people based on their own opinions thinking they are witty. ... Every coach has his own style or how he wants to play. Wenger played through the midfield and didn't like direct wingers; Ferguson attacked majorly through the wings and Mr. Emery uses the wings predominantly especially his fullbacks but unfortunately both have been unavailable but soon after the international break over. But despite having his main attackers out (his fullbacks) , we are third on table with 15 points from eight games and still people are wailing like we are last on the table. ..... This is the same Arsenal team that will play beautiful football years ago and still lose matches like this, today we are grinding out results yet they are still complaining, same fans that were screaming Wenger out only before. I mean how irrational can some persons be? .... No team in the EPL today will lie down for any other team. This is not Europa League. Teams in the EPL now spend money that other teams in other leagues can only dream of. TV rights money has enabled most teams in the EPL to go for most players they want. The days teams cower when they see the big four are gone. We are not entitled to any winning; Arsenal must fight for its own win, which they have been doing as well as other top teams too. ... Football is not 1 + 1 .... this team beat our next opponent today, therefore we should demolish our next opponent based on their previous performance Such thinking in today's game especially in the EPL? It's like some people just started watching football or are just watching our matches waiting for mistakes to suit their agenda. But I guess it's my fault for expecting rational people here, thread is now filled with people who see the game like beginners to football. Other football threads have all kinds of people with different opinions and views all right but here it's predominantly the negative. God help the few rational ones here if the thread can be this negative eight games into the season...... Fkhalifa ..... don't feel threatened, continue with your view, everyone is entitled to theirs jare. What they do with theirs is their own business. |
...... We are getting better in our defending, which shows just how important fullbacks can be to stabilise the defense and of course we pressed a lot in the first half but something was just lacking in the final third. It just didn't click there today, I don't know why but I am glad we are pressing again. .... The second half was odd and Ceballos went off the boil a little. I love the fact that Emery rewards performance by subbing off Pepe for Gabriel but he really needs to integrate Kieran quickly to the first team since he uses his fullbacks a lot to create chances. Kolasinac cannot do what Chambers does effortlessly with good ball delivery talk less of Kieran. Kola should sit out now but I understand he is not rushing the kid. ..... I love the fight of the young players and the obvious improvements in Guendouzi and Chambers. The latter might not be fast but he is very intelligent. The former talked about improving his defensive awareness and game a while ago and it is showing that he is really doing that. ... We are seeing the Luiz we once love. I didn't like the fact that we didn't create enough and didn't bury the ones we created although two penalties were denied us today, I felt we could have done better but one thing is getting clearer after each match day. The new regime is all for the youngsters and clearly after their development and Emery is doing a good job there. Shout out to the captain too, smart professional fouls today. .... Another win, a clean sheet and third on the table, one point behind city. Great way to end the weekend. I see you Oga Spy. |
Whizlight:..... Mr Alex no go do wetin Oga Solo do. No worries, Baba street smart |

†**************************************† Chapter 4 cont'd ....."I would like to know how and why my eight year old son came home the other day and was talking about Efe and Tboss?" A parent asked rather too calmly for my liking the moment the director opened the floor for parents to ask questions and make their complaints known after her long speech on immorality. The parent in question had no kid in my class to which I was grateful but I knew it wasn't over yet for me yet. ....."How do you mean, Mrs. Odukoya? Can you please be clear about your complaint?" The director replied the woman's questions with her own questions. Typical when you have nothing to use to your defense when accused of something. ...."I meant that I would like to know how and why kids less than eight years are discussing an 18+ rated show with so much familiarity. A show that is passworded on our cable tv and never watched by anyone in my family. So I am intrigued at to how my son knows so much about something he doesn't watch. I don't want to jump into conclusions yet which is why I am asking for an explanation here in front of both parents and teachers." She replied and returned to her seat. She said all this calmly once again which I didn't take as a good sign. The woman has either concluded on what she wants to do or that was her own way of expressing herself. The former wasn't good news for the school. ...."Ma, I would like to answer your question." The head teacher started. ...."We are not amoral in this school but hold moral values highly here and reward those that toll that path without failing at the annual award event in the school. I am very displeased to hear this and I am surprised it wasn't curtailed neither was it reported to me or the school management; Nevertheless, I am glad you said something about this before it turns into something else. The teacher or teachers are not absolved from this shameful news but it is very important that we call out parents and caretakers on this because I know kids of eight and nine are young but very smart but still they cannot watch these shows without the permission of those in charge of them whether genuinely or via carelessness." The head teacher stated without favor. The table this man is shaking so. ...."Parents discuss this show, relatives and caretakers inclusive and even teachers too and these kids listen to them and copy what they see the adults doing and of course discuss it amongst themselves. I am not faulting your story Ma because kids can talk about something they have no idea about like they actually know what they're talking about but if you insist that your kid is talking about this show like he knows it then he must be watching from somewhere but I can assure with all confidence that it's surely not from here." ..."As for preventing this from happening. I will speak with every teacher and make such discussions and other adult talks are not allowed in the classrooms and wherever the children are gathered while in school but parents and caretakers have to help us. If such shows should be watched, it must be done in the absence of the kids. They shouldn't be in the living at all for any reason whatsoever while the show is airing." He finished and I had to say that I was impressed even if Baba always want to please the director. ...The aggrevied parent said nothing and most parents didn't which was a clear sign of guilt. The director didn't linger on the topic either but I knew she would have a word with the teacher later. ...."My complaint can be termed unusual and I honestly do not care if people here see it that way but I have to honestly say that I am not impressed in the least as regards disciplinary methods used by the school. I hear from my kid all the time and while I have complained ceaselessly about how the school keeps changing its teacher but this is rather restricted to my kid's class." A rather tall and big woman stated. This woman was Amaka's mum. ...."Let go straight to the point." She continued in her rather thick Ibo accent. ...."My daughter complains about distractions all the time from other kids in the class and I keep asking why the teacher cannot handle the unruly kids but she insisted that her teacher tries his/ her best but it's the same story. This is the third teacher who has somehow failed to control his classroom and I have come to the conclusion that it's the school and its lack of discipline. I mean this is a school where kids pass by adults and refuse to greet until they are called out to do so and yet no actual disciplinary action is taken apart from the casual scolding from teachers. .... It's appealing I must say and it simply gives the impression that the children are the ones in charge of the class. I mean why will a child fail to get the best education possible just because of a few unruly ones in class who can't be tamed because the school is directly in support of their annoying activities during classroom teaching.? Why?" The woman asked in anger. ...."I believe that's a bit far fetched, Mrs. Okoye....." The director began but was cut off by the angry mother. ...."..... My observations are not far fetched. A boy keeps running away from the class, thereby dividing the attention of the teacher and another keeps grunting and throwing papers at pupils and other silly antiques while class is being held. They're not properly punished and so continue with their wrong doings. I mean if they can't be punished, then the school should have the decency of cutting them off as they are a nuisance to other interested pupils in class....." ".....Madam, my child is not a nuisance!" Kelvin's mum yelled out in anger. ..... Oya oh, it's about to go down... |
Whizlight:..... Very annoying...... Two penalties waved off like that..... |
..... Dem don dey start with their cheatings again .. . that was a penalty. |
Spy360:.... I don't like his recent interview where he seemed to insinuate that his confidence is shot. The chemistry isn't there yet but I believe when we leave this cautious approach of ours behind when our full backs return, there will be improvements in his game. |
Fkhalifa:.... Nah, Emery is a clown and he has to go. ![]() |
Spy360:.... Yup, I think we currently have the youngest average squad in the EPL. This regime obviously have a plan. |
Spy360:.... To be small thing to fight Auba.... It's not impossible but highly unlikely especially as Baba rarely gets injured but it's good he is taking his chances. .... Guendouzi, Gabriel, Torreira, Tierney..... our investments are looking really good. It's been a while since our scouts got it right. E remain Pepe now. |
BlueRayDick:.... Kai, see description ![]() |
Spy360:.... He really got roasted in that position. The competition is massive and I am sure he knows. See Saka of yesterday don enter First team just like that. By the looks of it, Gabriel is next |
.... Just look at the hunger in the team.... I love this. ..... Kai! Just imagine our game when Kieran and Bellerin returns. |
..... Make me see wetin Niles go play today. |
..... Ozil no even dey bench .... This is definitely beyond Emery now, it seems like the Arsenal hierarchy are the ones behind this. |
Whizlight:.... For sure bro. |
************************************ Chapter 4 cont'd ..... "Madam, please take a sit. This is Kelvin's desk." I said after moving towards her son's seat. I decided to be diplomatic and hoped that she wasn't the temperamental ones who do not cool once they become angry. Should I reply her in the same disrespectful manner in which she did, there would be war early this morning and I doubted if my madam will take the side of the new teacher over a customer, a popular one at that which is good for business. I had to be diplomatic and put away my pride at the moment. I will win another day. ...."That's not what I asked, Mister." She replied, not moving from where she was. I was in deep trouble here especially since I broke the school rule and knowing most management, they would let me carry my cross. But still, I couldn't help but admire this woman. She was taller, at least taller than me with about one to two inches. Her straight nose and full wide lips with a strong jaw gave her heritage away that she was certainly not a full blooded African. What stood out for me about her wasn't her glowing skin, or straight nose and full lips or her narrow waistline which wasn't attractive any way but rather her long, straight legs. She was on shorts, at least it went to her knees which confirmed my suspicions that she came here for war and not a dialogue. No one comes to a parents- teachers meeting on shorts. Na my head this woman come for. ....Still, those sexy, smooth calves on display was scattering my head. Nothing apart from a hourglass shape attracts me more in a woman than long straight legs. There is just something about a woman's long thighs and calves that just does it for me. My ex- said that it was a curse and I wonder if it was true. ......"I will answer your questions, madam. It's my job after all but take a seat first, please." I repeated my statement still standing beside her son's seat in class. She eyed me a little and wrinkled her nose before towards where I stood. I pulled out the seat for her and she sat down. She didn't thank me though and I wasn't disappointed. I decided to stand beside her even if she asked me to sit so that I could concentrate and prepare for answers to forthcoming questions as she looked through her son's notes. ...."Kelvin said that you spanked him with the flat side of a ruler? Why did do you that, Mr. Alex?" She asked in her foreign accent. She had still not touched his books and had now turned to face me. At this point, I doubted if she would have been here ordinarily if it wasn't for her son's play acting skills something he obviously learnt from his mother. I had no place to turn to this time although it seemed like she had cooled down a bit but she was still frowning. ...."I am still fresh, madam...." I began. ...."...Obviously." She stated, using her fingers to run me up and down. Kai! Was my dressing that bad? I didn't let that faze me but rather continued. ..."The children's character and psych are still very much unknown to me. I can't say confidently at this point that I know the kind of learners that they are ... Individually but I know enough to teach them. Kelvin is a smart kid when he is actually interested in the teacher's teaching at that point but that isn't the case regularly. He is usually not interested, the reason for that I don't know yet but he tends to show that by grunting in class and dividing the attention of others by other annoying activities. I warned him and tried punishing him on several occasions, it worked for a time but he soon resort to default. I hate punishing children when they are supposed to be learning in class. I decided to use the ruler on him when he used rubber and paper to hit a fellow classmate's neck. The area hit got swollen and the girl who was affected started crying out of pain. Kelvin refused to apologize and so I felt I had to hit him for him to know the gravity of what he had done." I finished but got no reaction from the woman who at this time was just staring at me. ..."I should have been giving noticeof this either through the phone or through the communication book. Mr. Alex, you must never under no circumstance hit my child without my permission. I do not care for your reasons and I won't next time but I will let this pass because you said that you are fresh. If Kelvin is being naugthy and refusing to cooperate, call me and I will deal with him in my own way. You can punish him but do not, I repeat, do not ever hit my child again except I give the go ahead. I do not know about other parents but that's how I want it for my son." .... I was Shocked from what I just heard but said nothing in reply. She looked away from my indifferent countenance and started to go through her son's work. ....."Just take a look at his handwriting. It's so bad that I can't make any meaning out of it yet the teacher is ever happy to give my son an F. I pay good money here yet something as basic as handwriting can't be taught here. All they do best is change teachers like a woman's wrapper." She said and then hissed before heading out, most likely downstairs. This PTA meeting will be one not to miss..... |
Whizlight:.... , you don catch me finish......... But seriously, I am a Madrid fan. |
†***********************************† Chapter 4 ........ I slept off that Saturday after pressing my clothes and making a decision on my future. My new madam's screaming still rings in my head and everytime it happens, I become angry rather than embarrassed. She wouldn't have said anything like that if I truly had my certificates on me and I wouldn't be trying to get into her school in the first place if those papers were on me. It would be to admit my kids here rather than getting a lowly paid job. I had to up my game and so I decided to register for the coming matriculation exams as soon as I got paid. Only a business and a good job that won't come without certificates will take me out of this predicament of mine except if l leave the country and I intend to do it the right way, I will still need money too. Elder was right after all, "Na money dem use take find money." ...... I woke up the next morning and headed for church for the first service thinking about how I was going to spend my half month salary while in transit. My rent, light and dirt bill had to be paid and then I needed fresh clothes since the parents in that school were big fishs in their respective careers so I needed to look my best first. It might be cheap but not faded and then food and the rest. ..... It was a wonderful service with lots of bullet points but I missed a few because I was distracted by the many rolling waists of women in heels. Kai, my weakness was right in front of me. I decided not to stay upstairs any longer, downstairs would be my best bet from now on and the closer I am to the Bishop, the better. I am a man, no one can send me back from staying at the front for dressing indecently. .... Still, I couldn't help but wonder how some women felt so comfortable in some of the clothes I saw. That's none of my business though. No dramas that weekend and no meetings either so Monday came and I more or less officially started work and it was hell for me. Samuel and Kelvin, the actresse son gave me tough time. Kelvin will tear up pieces of paper from God knows where and use that to start being mischievous in class. I punished him severally but he just continued with his antiques without a care in the world. He would grunt when I was explaining what I was teaching, it was so bad that at a point I had to send him out of my class. .... Samuel would sneak out of the class the moment my eyes were off him. I couldn't close the door because the class had no air conditioning unit with just a single fan in it so the door had to be opened for proper ventilation. In the middle of explaining something after the hardwork of getting the children's attention, Samuel would sneak out and then I would have to go chasing him around only to return to try and get that flow again, but I couldn't because the children's attention was now divided and of course time won't wait for me; I would have to begin another subject or the stamping feet of the next teacher would make me close that particular class hastily. ....On Tuesday, I was upstairs marking scripts while another teacher was teaching when I heard a scream from downstairs and then the name of Samuel followed. I knew something was up, I just didn't know how much. I wasn't in my class though but in the other teacher's class as all teacher share subjects and tend to take other kids in the process. Probably, the teacher didn't know Samuel had left the class or didn't care to find him if he noticed the kid was missing. Either way, the scream was a big deal as the boy was later brought upstairs with a bruised knee. .... He didn't injure anyone but himself when he slipped and fell on the hard, concrete floor where the assembly was held. He was taken to the school nurse but the Head teacher was clearly mad especially as the next day was PTA. How on Earth was he going to explain to his mum that her troubled son was unattended to by his class teacher or the teacher in charge in class at that moment. The head teacher was shouting and blasting everyone including the security guard who should have seen the child and taken hold of him. It wasn't a small matter and I wondered why he was so mad until I realized that his mother was said to be very temperamental and although she doesn't come for the meetings, she would surely come for this one. He said we should get ready to explain ourselves tomorrow. No one had to tell me that it was going to be a do or die affair the next day. ...... I had already placed myself in troubled waters when I went against the school rules and spanked a kid with a ruler. Kelvin made me lose my temper and I dished it to him well. He was very quiet later, not cooperative but quiet but not after he told me he was going to report me to his mum. The kids helped me arrange their books on their desks before I loaded them with assignments for the midterm holiday. I gave them workbooks that have barely been used and those whose works weren't marked so that they could do them at home, saving me dramas and unnecessary questions from parents the next day although I knew that still wasn't enough. Parents would most likely have their complaints ready regardless of what I did that day. .... I prayed hard for favour and dressed up in my best wear before heading for school. It was barely passed seven in the morning when I heard footsteps up the stairs. I expected a teacher or someone but surely not a parent and certainly not the glowing, tall and lithe figure of the actress in the doorway. I stood up to greet, ......"Good morning ma'am." I greeted but she acted like she didn't hear me. ....."Why did you hit my son, Mr. Alex?" She asked, barely controlling her temper. I know say I don enter an today. Jesus, please take the wheels. ....**** Happy Independence day folks..... .,...****The story is slowing gaining momentum and soon we will get to see Alex choices and judge for ourselves if he made the correct decisions or not..... |
