...... Apparently, Arsenal scouts were in Turin watching David Neres. It wasn't his best game but I am glad we are going for positions we lack.

.... Arsenal also looking at Kerem Demirbay as Ramsey's replacement. 25m will be enough to get him. It seems we are on the right path.

.....Lol..... His agent confirmed his injury a few days ago after he wasn't seen on the team's squad.... It's just bizarre what has happened with his loan but this isn't the first time Emery will demand for a player and not use that same player which is why I am still skeptical about him getting his own players. I really wish we had a technical director because I don't want us to waste precious funds this summer.

Ramsey is going to be a loss if he indeed pulled his hamstring, he is a player with goals in his game. With Auba and Lacazette fluffing their lines, missing one and ones and easy chances, we could do with an alternative goal scorer as we prepare for this final push for Top 4.
Ozil is not a goal scorer, Iwobi shoots like an over pampered teenage girl, Mkhi is being Mkhi. I sense that if Auba and Lacazette don't start being clinical and ruthless in front of goal, Ramsey injury might become fatal to our Top 4 chances. Or could Suarez step up and deliver finally?
.... Unfortunately, Suarez is out injured....such a shame

This obsession with Guendouzi sef! Wetin him wan control? Is it not the same Guendouzi we criticize when he has bad run of games and you are quick to remind us he is only 19? Abeg!

At times I do wonder if the Guendouzi I watch is different from the one fans here watch ó. The Guendouzi I watch is slow in fact his speed may just be a little more than Fellaini. There are times he needs to make quick passes, but he touches the ball as many times as possible and he misplaces passes like most average midfielders would. He's not different from the other midfielders we have in the team. If by controlling the game u mean having the ball and shielding it from opposition players while running across the field, then maybe I will give it to him
.... Baba, calm down and read my post again. I posted that we need a midfielder to control the game, someone to calm the game. Elneny was running helter-skelter and doing nothing. Imagine if Napoli had better attackers today, you think the relentless pressing wouldn't have yielded in a goal? I made mention that we don't a player in that mould right now but Guendouzi is the closest we have that can do that.

.... Job done.... kudos to the backline....

.. Against better players, that offside trap might be our undoing. . the midfield needs to take control but we currently don't have a player that can do that at the moment save maybe Guendouzi.....

... The Bromance between both strikers is killing us. Mane and Sterling are now up there with Auba in terms of goals because he simply can't bury sitters. It's becoming a problem. God help us against a solid Valencia backline. We have to take our chances.

...Unto the next match.....

No. He rather creates them. Laca has the strength to ruffle the feathers of most defenders (Kolibaly), hold on to the ball and allow others space to thrive. Laca is the best CF for an away game.
.......Osanoboa ;o.... I will act like I didn't see the bolded. Perhaps you got carried away because the Laca every Arsenal fan knows is awful, very awful away. How many assists, goals and pre-assists does he have away? He is usually one of our worst performers away, the Everton game being the worst I have seen him in an Arsenal shirt. Don't let that one Tottenham game deceive you where he passed to Ramsey but we all know how many chances he wasted before he was taken off.. Him and Ozil are home players which is what sets us apart from the top three teams --- our away form

...He is a strong striker no doubt but our best CF away is one praise too far.

I don't think the boss will start tomorrow as it will be too many games played too soon for the old man. Mustafi will take his place and Iwobi will start ahead of Auba I think as he played the full 90minutes on Monday. Apart from that, the line up is on point but then Emery might just surprise us. Cech will definitely start.

he is a central midfielder not a winger
.... Nah, he played mostly on the wings for Emery during his days at Sevilla. He was used in central midfield at Barcelona but didn't do quite well in that position hence his stay on the bench. He is better on the wings which is why Emery said he wanted him but why he has barely been used is the question here.

Emery has a funny way of throwing in players who haven't featured in a tough match, Guen's debut against city, El neny at Everton and now Mavro, let's not use their short cameo to conclude about them.

Iwobi had reiterated several times he isn't a winger, he's a 10, he's more threatening from that side, but due to lack of wingers, he's deployed there because he is the only man who can do a job there. It isn't is forte, but fans want to see him do a Sterling or hazard, he's clearly average there and may be world class in few years time on that flank.

Doucoure was too much for our pretty model midfielders and we could have gone down with Deeny and Delefou.

Auba, ozil and mhicky too weak and soft for this league. We indeed need new players.
..... Don't mind the haters as regards Iwobi... You need to hear them calling him useless, atrocious and very derogatory word available but little and next to nothing on Ozil, who allowed Doucoure torture us the way he did because he was completely ineffective. Iwobi created 7 clear cut chances yesterday and completed all dribbles attempted including tackles but yet he was tagged useless. Should Ozil create such, we won't hear the end of it.

....Mkhi isn't soft, he is quite good defensively but offensively yesterday, he was off. I think Auba played well yesterday and showed that away, he should be the lone striker. The guy's speed was wasted yesterday as no one was ready to give him through balls to chase. Mhki or Iwobi in the middle would have done that. Auba gets into good positions but he just keep wasting those chances. Lacazette won't even get into those positions, he lacks such attributes. He was awful away at Everton and was completely spent against Napoli which was he was rested yesterday

.... Thing is: This present Arsenal team lack in so many important positions and I fear that this summer alone won't be enough to fix the problems.

guendouzi performs better when he enter as a sub, bringing in ozil was because they were a man down and he wanted to take advantage of free spaces but that resulted in 10 men for arsenal because ozil was ineffective.
Niles coming in also helped like the goal scoring block he made.
Over all he got his subs right but Ramsey should have stayed and remove one of those wingers.
I hope we don't play like this against napoli
.....If anyone has a bigger mental block during an away match in recent years as an Arsenal is Ozil.... bringing him on was too risky. Ozil rarely takes control and he won't start today as a thirty year old player but I get what you're saying though. He was the only creator on the bench perhaps if we had another, he wouldn't have been brought in.

..... Until we change in new players that fit in with Emery plans and discard Wenger girls, our away form will remain terrible.

...I disagree with on Guendouzi playing better when he is subbed in but then I know your stance concerning the lad. I won't linger on that issue. Hopefully we play better on Thursday and qualify for UCL as it is the only way we can bring in new players.

Ìwobi is useless because most times he can't make up his mind whether to take on the opposing defenders or pass to his nearest man. Watching him hold on to the ball without deciding on what to do with the ball gives me migraine.

I play football and I know when you are on the flank like he is, you must be decisive. I think someone mentioned it already, we need real wingers. Ìwobi will never prosper in that wing. I watched so many times he gets the ball on that wing but he just hold on to it till they crowd him or he eventually passes to Ramsey. If Kolasinaic was on that wing despite his jambody play and excessive speed at times; we would've scored more today. Ìwobi's style of play is worse than his uncle's
.....I personally feel that playing him in that wing role is killing him....he will never be that winger we want because he isn't and that's not his game but even at that he created three clear cut chances that players you would expect to bury them didn't. Yes, he might not score goals a lot but is he creator? Yes, he is and has been all season just that his chances most times are not buried. He is far from useless bro and should he play in his natural role in the middle, I think it will do him a lot of good.

Emery actually got his substitutions right. Taking off mavropanos (or whatever the hell his name is) was the best decision he took. I was also glad he took off Torreira. The guy has been involved in some fouls and would've gotten into the ref's book at the slightest contact with any Watford player. We also needed an attacking threat rather than defence at that point.

Iwobi was useless in that match while mkhi was terrible. I used to think we got the better deal in the Sanchez swap. Now I'm not sure if we both got swindled by the two players and their families who spend their huge salaries
.....To think that Mavpro has been taunted to be better than Mustafi is really laughable...but seriously no competitive match since forever and then thrown into a tough match like this... Common, Emery clearly doesn't like the guy....

.... Pulling off Torreira for Guendouzi would have been better or even Niles but Ozil was a risky call and we nearly paid for it. It was a bad substitution no matter how you look at it.

.... Iwobi useless?? If anyone was useless today, it was Mkhi and Ozil and Auba, each of whom wasted chances upon chances created by Iwobi. Iwobi was our only creative outlet today and yet he is useless? I don't think we watched the same match bro. We were dominated by Doucoure and co and that was because Emery took off Torreira who had ten ball recoveries alone in the first half for a lazy person in Ozil....

... We need players badly... this Arsenal is average at best.

cheesy I don't hate him, maybe sod9 hates him grin
I just hate his style of play, Welbeck could have been a better partner for the duo, he's strong, tall, guard the ball, wins duels, scorers headers and does the stress for Auba/laca..
He isn't much a goal scorer like them, but will make the attack solid.
Laca can be frustrating, fluffs his line on easy chances and good at scoring beauties, but tries to protect and get physical on the ball.
Auba frustrates me the more,he can't protect, hold nor do something spectacular with the ball.
That's why I rate Kane, Aguero, firminho, son et al, they are strong, sharp, never tired of scoring, assisting and firing.
Knockert, delofou Diego jota and filipe Anderson are cheap but solid fighting wingers who can make Auba's game easier, they will delete players and get the ball to his space/feet for tap ins.

Liverpool could have finished the business yesterday, imagine we conceded yesterday or eventually get eliminated, fans will pounce on cech, kosc, guen, ozil and rest for what our forward caused.

Now I'm fearful of the away tie,Lord help us.
...I am not afraid of going out of the competition because home or away this season, we are usually up for the big games. So, I am confident that we are reaching the semi - finals of this competition.

We have two incomplete world class strikers that are not ready to up their game which is very bad for us. One gets into goal scoring positions easily but keep wasting those chances while the other barely gets himself in position and when he does, it's another burden to score. I know it's impossible to score every chance created but Auba chances wasted are alarming.

.... Yesterday, during the course of the game, I saw Ozil telling Laca after they've been substituted that he should be entering the box of the opposition more. It's very disappointing that another player is telling him what he should have been doing. We are going away on Monday again and I hope by then Xhaka will be available and the boss is injury free. We can't play our game properly with Xhaka and we lack a bit of direction when Kos isn't playing. Kos was the one distributing the balls across both widths of the pitch which he shouldn't be doing but since none of our midfield players can do that effectively, he had to. If those two will be available on Monday then we will win, I am certain of that.

Leno - Monreal, Kos, Mustafi (Socratic is suspended) Niles, Kola, Torreira, Xhaka, Ramsey, Iwobi, Laca, Auba / Mkhi......Ozil is awful away and must sit this out. COYG!

This match should have been done and dusted by now, if our fowards were clinical.
....Auba especially – No link-up, no hold up play and terrible technique at shooting. He has been awful lately and that seems to be rubbing on Laca too. For God sake, Iwobi who is shorter than he is can face his back to goal and attempt to fight for the ball but Auba who is 6 ft 2 seems unable to do that. Now I see the reason why some folks here hate him.

A Neres or another good winger will put both strikers on their toes next season. Regardless of the scoreline, I am happy with the win and manner we played, miles better than the horror show on Sunday.
