vonlogon:
If you take the mbbs, you will be around 29 by the time you graduate and with your first degree in biology education, you'll be very wanted out there. But you need to think about funding your mbbs which is a down side of taking it. Going for masters programs now gives you the room to work, make connections and all while you study, and by 25 years you have your masters, given that you are a brilliant person, you should have your PhD by the time you are 29 years old.

I wish you all the best.
Thanks for the response sir, from what you said, both gives the same outcome, except the downside of finances for mbbs
EducationAdvice: Going Back To Study MBBS Or Doing Masters by Somebody5589(op): 2:58pm On Feb 08, 2020
Good afternoon,
I really don't know if a similar thread have been created, but I'm in a huge dilemma, I studied Biology education, and graduated with a 1st class even topped the class and all, I'm currently serving and truth is when I was in my 3rd year I lost every bit of joy in the course, I wanted something better, I felt I could be studying a better course.
After about 6months in nysc, currently left with two options, I was thinking of getting a jamb form and applying for MBBS, I'm 22years old by the way, or instead going further and doing my masters in education, and if possibly a PhD program, if I could end up with a chance to lecture. Truth is I love teaching a lot, but I see no future in it currently in Nigeria.

Please would so much appreciate any advice on what to do.

teragenesys:
►Period ended on thursday... Lets call it Day 1
►had unprotected sex on Sunday... 3 days later = day 4
►Assuming (hypothetically) sperm lives for 7 days = 4 + 7= 11days after her mensuration,corresponding to exactly day 14 of her cycle.
Period ending on Thursday isn't day 1, but day 3-5, depending on how long her period lasts, and also assuming she's someone with a 21day cycle of 35day cycle she'd probably be ovulating earlier than usual, and if the sperm is quite fertile it'd also last longer than usual..Point is she probably had sex on day 8 of her cycle which is during her fertile window, means she has a MEDIUM chance of getting pregnant..

Solution now is that, you should be hopeful depending on the outcome you want, nothing else can be done
P.S Abortion is never the solution

PhonesNigeria Is Ready For 5G Says NCC by Somebody5589(op):
The commission's Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Mr. Sunday Dare, said this in Abuja at an interactive session with newsmen.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said the country is ready for the 5G bandwidth network for faster and efficient internet services.

This is as the commission said it will soon audit the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to determine their level of compliance with the regulation on the registration of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards.

The commission’s Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Mr. Sunday Dare, said this in Abuja at an interactive session with newsmen.

He said the NCC had been preparing the country for it by bringing together critical stakeholders to examine the legal, regulatory and technology issues, apart from developing a roadmap.

“We have opened up consultations on spectrum for drones, etc. We are proactively leading discussions on the development of new technologies. This does not mean that we are going to discard the 2G, 3G or 4G. Each one of these levels of technologies has its benefits and the fact remains that you have to move from one level to the other,” Dare said.

On the audit of the MNOs, Dare said it was during a similar exercise in August 2015 that the regulatory body found that 5.2 million SIM cards were not properly registered by MTN Nigeria Communications Limited.

This, according to him, led to the imposition of N1.04tn fine on the mobile operator, before it was eventually reduced to N330bn. MTN completed the payment of the fine on May 24. According to him, the exercise was not to make money for the government but to ensure that prescribed processes were complied with.

Speaking on broadband penetration, the NCC official said Nigeria has met the 30 percent milestone and has publicly released the data for everyone to interrogate.

“Those who say we have not are citing old reports from the ITU. They forget that NCC provides the data that ITU uses. We are the custodians of data, and we have specialised methods of measuring. Based on empirical data, we have met and surpassed the target,” he noted.

PhonesApple Replaces Itunes With 3 New Apps by Somebody5589(op): 12:58pm On Jun 11, 2019
Apple on Monday announced the demise of its groundbreaking iTunes platform in favour of three more tailored apps, as it refines its offerings to be a stage for digital music, films, podcasts and more.
iTunes transformed the way people buy and listen to music after its launch in 2001, but is now being phased out, Apple senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi said, while helping kick off the technology giant’s annual gathering of developers in Silicon Valley.
“The future of iTunes is not one app, it’s three,” Federighi said.
“Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV.”
Since the launch of iTunes, lifestyles have shifted to streaming music, video and more from the internet cloud as online data centres and high-bandwidth connections gave rise to on-demand entertainment expectations.
The iTunes software let users manage and listen to music collections as well as buy digital versions of songs.
“There is no reason for iTunes to exist, period,” said Creative Strategies analyst Carolina Milanesi.
“If I want music, I have an app. If I want TV, I have the app. That is how people are thinking today.”
The transformation of iTunes into three separate apps comes with Apple preparing the international launch of an eponymous TV+ later this year.
The new content will be available on an upgraded Apple TV app, which will be on smart television sets and third-party platforms including Roku and Amazon’s Fire TV.
The California company showed off its podcast app on Monday as well, and said that service would be tailored to work independently on its smartwatch.
Some features from iTunes will be melded into the other Apple apps.
It remains to be seen what will become of the iTunes version tailored for Windows-powered computers, or how people will be able to move music libraries they have amassed.
Software innovations and improvements revealed at the opening day of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) touched the company’s entire line-up from wrist-wear to iPhones and Car Play along with smart assistant Siri.
The innovations come as Apple shifts to emphasize digital content and other services to offset a pullback in the once-sizzling smartphone market, and with many news organizations struggling to monetize their online services.
Apple is aiming to leverage its position with about 900 million people worldwide who use at least one of its devices.
Apple sign-in

The packed WWDC audience cheered when executives spoke of improvements that promised to make it easier for one app to work across the array of devices.
Apple is apparently trying to get app makers looking beyond the iPhone to the company’s family of hardware with a message of “better together,” Milanesi reasoned.
“It is about the breadth of those devices together,” the analyst said.
As high-end Android-powered phones made by Google become more attractive to iPhone users, having apps that extend experiences across Apple Watch, iPad, TV, and Mac help keep them loyal to the brand, according to Milanesi.
“Not only are you driving more engagement with Apple, but you are also lowering the risk of having users go elsewhere,” she said.
Next-generation iOS software powering iPhones coming out later this year was reworked “top to bottom” to be faster, according to Federighi.
Apple chief Tim Cook and other executives focused on privacy features of improved software across the range of devices.
Protections being added to iOS mobile operating software included the option of giving apps permission to access location just once, instead of all the time, and letting users know when apps are tracking their whereabouts.
A new “Sign In With Apple” feature will be launched as an alternative to logging in using Facebook or Google accounts.
“This can be convenient, but it can also come at the cost of your privacy,” Federighi said.
“These log-ins can be used to track you.”
The iOS log-in feature will let people sign into apps using AppleID information.

CrimeHow To Combact High Suicide Rates In The Society by Somebody5589(op): 3:36pm On May 16, 2019
Good day,
Forgive the following write up, but have been forced to say my opinion, the rate at which suicide is growing in the Nigerian society today is something worth questioning, everyday I come on the internet, and all I see is tales of how someone took his or her life, and then people begin to ask questions as to why the person killed himself, the reasons so far has been ranging from
1) Employment issues,
2) Relationship problems,
3) Education,
4) Acceptance into the society etc
Most of which end up leading to depression and next suicide..
So far there have even been prank messages regarding suicide which is highly disheartening, given that it's a societal problem that should be seriously dealt with.

Here's how I believe suicidal problems can be combacted in our society.
1) Prevention
Before suicide, comes depression, and during the phase between depression and suicide, there's a stage where the recipient reaches rock bottom, here he or she feels all alone and rejected by the society, most times they have the feeling of lack of purpose with no aim and goals in life anymore, at this stage, if such person is noticed, he or she should be given adequate monitoring and care, and should be counselled regularly, he or she shouldn't be left alone, until its certain that the recipient is no longer depressed and most especially already have a purpose and goal in life

2)Cure
After suicide, the society of today, clamour around and most times we justify reasons why the person took his life, please note..
People who commit suicide shouldn't be celebrated. People who commit suicide shouldn't be pitied

I repeat myself again,
People who commit suicide shouldn't be pitied
Rather they should be condemned and rebuked, this way any other suicidal person would have a rethink at life, if he or she knows he'd be condemned after the act.

People who commit suicide are to be condemned.

3) Prayers
In all things, we need prayers, most especially even we ourselves shouldn't fall into the cold hands of depression, its a really strong entity and it takes grace to overcome it..

Thank you for reading

BusinessInnosun Motors To Aquire GT Bank Due To 8.7billion Debt by Somebody5589(op): 10:59pm On Mar 29, 2019
A Nigerian car manufacturing company claims it has obtained a court order that allows it to take control of one of the country’s largest banks.
Innoson Nigeria Limited on Friday said it obtained a writ of Fifa from the Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra State, against Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) to implement the judgment given by Nigerian courts over the lingering crisis between it and the bank.

A copy of the Awka court order was sent to PREMIUM TIMES.
The company in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Cornel Osigwe, said a judgement given by the Federal High Court in Ibadan was upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
A Writ of Fieri Facias (or Writ of Fi Fa) is a document issued by the court for the purpose of effecting court judgment on a debtor’s property. It is also the legal instrument by which the assets of a judgment debtor may be seized.
Innoson and GTB have for long been locked in legal tussles following disagreements over a business deal.
On Friday, Innoson claimed its Chairman, Innocent Chukwuma, has been mandated to “take over” GTB after the supreme court dismissed GTB’s appeal against the judgement of the appeal court in Ibadan.
“The Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, OFR has through a Writ of FiFa taken over Guaranty Trust Bank PLC for and on behalf of Innoson Nigeria Ltd as a result of the bank’s indebtedness to Innoson Nigeria Ltd,” the statement said.
“In a landmark decision on February 27th 2019, the Supreme Court of Nigeria dismissed GTB’s appeal — SC. 694/2014 — against the judgment of Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division.
“The Court of Appeal, Ibadan division had in its decision of 6th February 2014 dismissed GTB’s appeal against the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division.
“Thus, the Court of Appeal affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division which ordered GTB by way of Garnishee order absolute — to pay N2.4billion to Innoson with a 22% interest, per annum, on the judgment sum until the final liquidation of the judgment debt. Rather than obey the judgment of the Court of Appeal, GTB approached the Supreme Court to challenge the Court of Appeal’s decision,” the auto firm said.
The company in its statement said a ruling delivered by Supreme Court Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour dismissed GTB’s appeal and thus affirmed the concurrent judgment of both the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division.
The ruling, it said, ordered GTB by to pay N2.4 billion to Innoson with a 22 per cent interest, per annum, on the judgment until the final liquidation of the judgment.
“The Judgment debt of N2.4bn has an accrued interest as at today of about N6,717,909,849.96 which results to about N8.8 billion,” the statement said.
“Based on the Supreme Court’s decision of 27th February 2019 the counsel to Innoson, Prof McCarthy Mbadugha ESQ, had approached the Federal High Court, Awka Division for leave to enforce the judgment having obtained certificates of Judgment from the Ibadan Division of the Federal High Court.”
Mr Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson Motors, dragged GTBank to court in 2011, alleging arbitrary charges levelled against him and a string of bank accounts he held at the bank. But GTBank later counter-sued, saying it was Mr Chukwuma who allegedly falsified bank and shipping documents to obtain tax waivers from the Nigerian government.
The bank subsequently referred the matter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The anti-graft office filed criminal charges against Mr Chukwuma at a Lagos court. Last month, he was declared wanted for failing to appear for arraignment in the matter, which is still proceeding separately from the N14 billion arbitrary charges lawsuit currently at appellate levels.

Mr Chukwuma denied the allegations of doctoring shipping documents, saying the matter had previously been investigated by the EFCC and the police both of whom cleared him of any wrongdoing.
He accused GTBank of using law enforcement agencies to hound him
