I hope that's not Starlink mini GiggsTk: Konga and Jumai doesn't have in stock. Also, I can't really buy from starlink except I select a location outside Lagos or select the roaming plan and place the order. But I just noticed that the price is 300k if I select the roaming plan instead of 440k, does this suggest a difference in hardware? Because I'm surprised it's cheaper, and if that's the case why are people going ahead to buy the device at 440k, when there's no residential plan currently? |

Can you explain more? Are you using an inverter with the 12volt battery and is it a soft hum that you hear? Stock2233: I bought a solar panel but I noticed when I use it on my starlink I hear some news coming from my starlink router like it about to blow off. I usually off the router so it don’t burn off because of the noise. Please can anybody know why the sound is coming out from the router |

That's Clark Belt. Per FCC regulations, communication companies are not allowed to place satellites there. Everyone along the North of the equator like Nigeria gets that blank space. If you move the dish a thousand times, it won't disappear. lukfame: I wonder why that blank space is showing though cos it wasn't like that at the beginning.
Here's a screenshot of advanced test done. |

What's your speed like, you have a very clear view. I assume that blank space is the equator line where SpaceX cant place satellites lukfame: Finally got my replacements and Starlink up.
Thanks

I bought an Ethernet Adapter from Starlink Store for 33k, it has two ports (one port for dish cable and one for ethernet cable which goes to your 3rd party router). It is selling for a discount at the moment and is delivered within 2-3days after order is made odimbannamdi: Please share pics and contact person for the router so I can get mine. How did you connect it to your Starlink? |
Phones › Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 1:55pm On Jul 11, 2024 |
That's very untrue. Starlink will be firing in serious rain and you wont even notice any drop except you keep doing Speed Tests GoodBoi1: I thought they said starlink doesn't perform well when it rains. It has been cloudy and also some rain since yesterday but I am still getting good internet speeds |

I have also attached a screenshot from the Tether App for the router which allows you to see which devices are connected and manage the network from anywhere without being ohysically close to it. odimbannamdi: Please share pics and contact person for the router so I can get mine. How did you connect it to your Starlink?

Starlink says I have an unobstructed view of the sky despite this small red patch.
I am considering moving it just a bit since I suspect a pole beside it must be the cause.

Wow, that's great. You should consider relocating the dish safely to higher grounds once and for all. The speed is cool too for 38k per month. My billing shows I am due to pay 38j next month since I am fully on residential GoodBoi1: I used a location in Lusada - Igbesa Rd, Ado Odo/Ota 100001, Ogun State. In order to get the location, I had to compare the starlink coverage maps with google maps. From my location I measured about 24km radius to closest available area in Ogun state which was in Lusada on google maps. I checked several locations there on starlink map and they were available. For now I just placed starlink on my verandah, the speeds are okay for 4k videos. Highest speed I saw was around 220 mbps. The speed fluctuates but overall it is okay since it is unlimited compared to MTN. I have changed my location to my current coordinates. I hope the preview invoice for next monthwill not change. Is your next month preview invoice still saying 38k? I saw that the invoice updates everyday. |

Wow, mine was restricted until I changed the Service Address. I advise you to do that though. So which location did you use when you shipped it, it was inconceivable for us to pin a good distance for you as nearest available location was about 35kms away to you And share your obstruction and speed tests with us GoodBoi1: Yippee!!! I have received the starlink and activated it. I used an available service location about 23-24km from my shipping address since my location is "Expanding in 2025" on starlink website. It took close to one hour to connect, might be weather, and the app did not ask me to change my service location or show restricted mode. Now I am on residential plan, 38k has been deducted from my account. Thanks for the tip : |

It's not even comparable, the consistency is the key, even if it's 30mbps. They even went far with outage reports ibietela2: 55Mbps is better than MTN sef... the first day I activated, I got 185+ then it dropped. I wish they changed the dish too |

It did and I find that interesting. I got 365mbs at some point but it's gone down to 200+ On a norm, I get between 115 to 210mbs or down to 55 when the network is "bad". Is bad even the right word to use for 55mbps ibietela2: Since i did this bypass mode i have seen improved speed, I can't argue with the person who said external router makes it better. |

If you don't intend to share your Starlink with neigbors or don't live in a large house like 3bedroom or more, you don't need it. But if you live in a big house and intend to share connection with your neigbors, this is a solid option to broadcast wifi signal, protect your host network, monitor users, plug Lan cables for those that need it and recoup some investment on this stuff RoddyStan: What is the work of this router please Do I have to get it? |

Yes, they do. You might even get it tomorrow. GoodBoi1: Canceled my deposit and reordered starlink. It has already been shipped so soon. From the dhl information it seems the package is coming from Lagos, maybe they have a warehouse in Lagos, even though I ordered on starlink website and the kit info is already showing on the dashboard. From the look of things, the kit will arrive this week. |

The solution is to get solar panels, charge controller, inverter and LiPo or Lithium iron battery pack. I have those but the Starlink consumption draws too much in addition to my usage. So I have to get another battery pack ibietela2: I did IPTV subscription. na steady light be my main issue now |
