Jesus Christ is the only way. Jesus being the focus of Christianity has not elevated Christianity to a state of being a way to heaven. The only way to heaven is what Christianity focuses on. Think of Christianity as a means to an end. It is not an end in itself. Jesus is that end.

As for Christianity being a way of life. Yes, Christianity ought to be a way of life. But, modern Christianity is more about church duties and pastor worship. And so, it is a religion. It has all the characteristics of a religion.
