This is another person who has to be extremely careful about his movements.

He and Lula of Brazil have been the two most vocal voices against this regime's activities with their very scathing criticisms of Trump and Israel.

It's quite a wonder to me even that assassination attempts have not been made on Carlson particularly.
PoliticsRe: They Portrayed The Girls As Runs Girls, I Was On The Plane With Them - Umahi by SonOfWords(m): 8:01am On Jul 17
David Umahi is lying and I can say this with my full chest.

This is the same man who was responsible for the gruesome murder of five Nelan engineers in Ebonyi over contract disagreements on the AfDB awarded transatlantic ring road back in November 2021, and five years later, the families of late Engineer Ernest Edeani and his four other colleagues, are yet to get any form of justice or closure, simply because he buried the case under murky bureaucracies same way the bodies of those victims are yet to be found for proper burial rites.

This case is equally going to be buried because nigeria is a cesspit where the rich get away with just about anything.

Not just the village ...church is also involved in this extortion...not pentecostal ooo.. Catholic and Anglican... they will request for the tithe , the late person dint pay all thru their lifetime in their church. Even if u tell them the person paid tithe in another branch of the church, they wudnt accept it....the will request for levies the person dint pay , the donations the person dint donate...if u dont do it ,the church will not bury the person ...

Village and church demands gulps millions of naira ...some 5m some 7m depending on their demands ... the richer the person was, or if there is a rich member in the family , the more demands ... tgey will charge for meetings the late person failed to attend and also add the children fees that failed to attend meetings...
I experienced this first-hand.

I lost my maternal grandmother in year 2000. She was born, raised and died as an Apostolic. Very devoted to the last day, and even died as a very recognized deaconess. In her 66 years of age, she only missed church activities and obligations for about one month, which was the period she was hospitalized and was even put on life support where she was being fed through tubes.

Upon fixing her funeral date, my mother approached granny's Apostolic church province to facilitate the arrangements. The church refused to conduct the funeral, claiming granny owed dues for the period of her absence. Mumsy calmly offered to clear those dues just so they could show up to bury granny. The church was still adamant, claiming they had to meet with the church's council of elders before deciding the way forward.

Three weeks later, no feedback. Mumsy got her own church (Winners' chapel) to bury granny and the arrangements were swiftly finalized. Only for the Apostolic church entourage to show up on the day of the funeral to participate.

The reactionary madness we all displayed that day can only be best imagined in a nollywood screenshoot. Na parboiled rice water mumsy use baff the senior pastors and church leadership. I and my brothers chased the entire approaching church delegation with flaming pieces of thick firewoods.

These funeral practices are outright evil and insensitive💀!

This story keeps repeating itself all over Igboland and it's always the same pattern — a family already drained by hospital bills now has to source a cow and feed three different groups before they can bury their own mother in peace. Nobody is saying we should throw away tradition, but there's a difference between honoring culture and using grief as leverage to extract money from people who have no choice but to comply.

What gets me is the "highest burial category because she was 71" part. So the older and more accomplished your parent was, the more it costs you to mourn them? That's backwards. If anything, elders who lived long, full lives should be celebrated without their children going into debt for it.

Credit to Nobis and his brother for handling it calmly instead of blowing up at the village — that's actually how change happens. You can't reform a system by fighting the people who administer it; you reform it by being in the room, year after year, until "we've always done it this way" stops being a good enough answer. Culture isn't static, it's just slow. Someone has to start the conversation, and he just did.
There's no need funneling this practice as the reserve of a single tribe.

I'm a full blooded Cross riverian of the Ekoi tribe and this useless funeral behaviour still holds sway to this very day.

No worries chummy, Iran will not run out of US related targets in the gulf, even if the war stretches to the end of the year.

Just to add, in further reaction to America's recent strikes on Iran's infrastructure, the IRGC has pencilled all of Trump's standing infrastructural investments in the gulf as legitimate targets.

And that list contains very exquisite and pricey assets like hotels, expansive golf clubs and real estate investments, in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, etc.

Targets yakpa, my brother grin. And there's enough missiles and drones to go round.
CelebritiesRe: The Average Nigerian Is Not A Good Person - Shank by SonOfWords(m): 6:02am On Jul 17
Sweeping negative narratives like this are unfortunate and should not be encouraged by any sane Nigerian irrespective of shared sentiments.

This country's quality of life has been on a feverish downward trend for almost three decades now, and that has entirely been a consequence of the callous leadership representation that the citizenry has had to put up with. Some of us witnessed this country long before the so-called advent of our modern democracy in the late 90s.

Even if you put healthy rats in an enclosed and controlled space overtime, feed them less and less with each passing day, those rats will manifest their cannibalistic tendencies at some point, where the stronger ones will unavoidably feed on the weaker ones for self-preservation.

That is an immutable law of existence, be it in animals, plants or humans.

The average nigerian is very good natured, kind, happy, hospitable and generous. There are even very solid global statistics that have proven that. Shank is just a useless fellow whose fortunate celebrity status now feels like an opium to talk down on his fellow citizens simply because he is largely detached from the gruesome survival realities being faced by average nigerians on a daily basis💀.

I totally blame Nigerians for embracing this intruder and giving her a platform to contest in the miss universe pageant. She collected the runner-up crown and ran back to her country. Her Nigerian lineage is not clear, we don't know anything about her supposed Nigerian father but we know she has a Mozambican mother who forges identities for a living. She's as much as a scam artist as her mother, I hope she's reported to Mozambique not Nigeria.
There are often putrid opinions that serve better use sitting in the cranium of the bearer.

You think it's easy to suddenly wake up and adjust your entire existence to another society after practically spending your entire first three decades of life growing up in and calling another place home?

If her attempt at seeking legal redress in SA subsequently fails, she's wholely welcome to settle in Nigeria. She'll always be embraced by her maternal roots, irrespective of her mother's alleged misgivings. Whether that sickens you or anyone else, is the internalized bitterness you'll have to live with.

It's almost always a woman hanging out other women to dry😵‍💫.
CultureRe: Bereaved Son Share Burial Demands From Village Group, Sparks Debate by SonOfWords(m): 5:35am On Jul 17
Lol.

I have never understood the practice of a bereaved family having to organize lavish feasts for the visiting crowds during a funeral event. It's a nonsensical tradition that has long outlived its usefulness.

It is mostly common in the Eastern and Southern parts of Nigeria despite how educated the regions have claimed to be. And I have firmly decided that in the eventual loss of any of my parents, not a single plate of food is going to enter anybody's greedy mouth.

If heaven is going to fall, let it fall! I cannot be burying a loved one and be wasting scarce resources feeding village gluttons.

Days after Iran fires dozens of missiles and drones at US facilities in Gulf countries, there hasn't been a single reported case of civilian casualties.

Today the US decides to escalate, civilian casualties don begin pile. Yet some st*pid aneemals want us to believe the IRGC are the terrorists💀🤡.

Once you decide to consciously rid your mind of the western cobwebs of deceit, it's pretty easy to realize that these existential events actually write themselves lucidly.

Only UN?

Makinde should also call on ICC and amnesty international, OIC, EU, FBI, INTERPOL to investigate the federal government of Nigeria's successful handling of a mass kidnap by islamist terrorists.

All those who were shouting bring our children home and sewing name for shirt are now claiming the kidnap, the killing of a human being on camera was all staged.

And the fool ish makinde is playing the same game.
Are you aware that your APC government just compensated the principal of that school with a brand new car?

How many rescued/released victims of kidnaps around the country has this same government seen fit to "compensate" or financially assist?

Just like the Chibok girls saga in GEJ's era, there's absolute fvckery afoot in this scenario and if the present day government is sincerely oblivious of the circumstances behind the abduction, then they should embrace any form of independent scrutiny.

Reports are circulating that the PDFile intends to BLAME China for LOSING the election against Joe Boden in 2020.

For context, the PDFile has previously blamed Democrats and Iran for him being a LOSER.

Only people he has ever won against are WOMEN.

Hopefully, this doesn't stop at just TARIFFS and SANCTIONS against China.

Let them use this excuse to send FREEDOM to China so that China can send FREEDOM back.

Xi about to LEARN there is no having an agreement with BLOODTHIRSTY DEMONS.
You people can be quite comic on this thread😂.

One wide aneemal above you attempted to paint Iran as being afraid of striking Israel as if he was blind to the outcome of the 12d and 40d battles between the respective parties.

Now you're hilariously positing that Trump just might cook up a conflict with China over the former's 2020 election loss conjectures, as if we weren't here when the same delusional old man blamed Russia and eventually the Democrats for that same election outcome.

Y'all need to calm the fvck down! Trump might often prove to be high-handed, but even he is not that st*pid to open a conflict front with China while being occupied in the ME and Ukraine.

PoliticsRe: "I Was A Victim Too" — Kalu Speaks On Alleged Fake Presidential Council (Video) by SonOfWords(m): 8:22pm On Jul 08
Benjamin Kalu is lying.

Over the next handful of days, a substantial number of high profile APC politicians are going to come up with this sort of storylines just to lend credibility to the government's claim of the agency being a fake. If you've witnessed this country's politics over the last three decades as I have, this shouldn't be so hard to decipher.

This is not to say that the agency has been operating on full legitimacy, but someone very highly placed kept this agency on life support, using Adeyemi and every other tool of plausible legitimacy, just to siphon humongous allocations.

Whoever it is that was the mastermind, is so highly placed that Aso rock will rather sacrifice Adeyemi than expose the actual architect of this sordid scheme. Tinubu's government might have been oblivious from the start, but when this debacle started to gather steam, the government realized the brains behind it and opted to protect them.

A "fall man" had to be found. And Adeyemi is him. They'll nail him to protect the presidency and actual thief behind this scheme. But once all of this dies down, Nigerians shouldn't be surprised to hear of an aso rock cabinet reshuffle or voluntary resignations of one or two highly placed figures.

No be conspiracy theory. It is the rotten framework upon which the Nigerian leadership has operated in the last ten years, and some of us never fail to recognize patterns.
