If Texas and a few states split from the US today, you'll say the US was not the U.S?
How can the fragmented US be called the US when a couple of states that make it the US decide to break apart?

Are you listening to yourself? What part of the current US will you then label as such?

Washington DC? New York? Texas? Florida?Massachusetts? Oga dey calm down na😅.

Russia = Soviet Union.

Both the resources, ideas, scientists, engineers who built them were Russian. Even the funding came from Russia.

The decision to build them came from Russia.

If not, why are the former Soviet states unable to replicate the technologies built by the Soviet Union?
And to add, Russia was NOT the soviet union.

Russia was an integral part of the soviet union, even considerably called the majority stakeholder, but Russia was and has ever been known as "a part" of the soviet umbrella.

Stop embellishing history to decorate your narratives!

WriteerNg, let me point one thing out clearly to you today:

No single country, institution or person functioning today can lay claims to birthing any idea. NONE!

The world as we know it today has come this far because people enhanced and built on ideas that already existed, no matter in however crude a form it originally was. This entire 2026 globe is a complete refurbishment of ideas and initiatives that existed even before the birth of Jesus Christ.

So stop this insidious display of faux supremacy you always try to ascribe to Russia. You're hungrily speeding towards reasoning like the pro-west loonateeks this thread was actually purposed to combat.

I take solace in the fact that the Nigerians I know and have dealt with all around the corners of the country in the last three decades, will wake up one day and find their breaking point.

Aba women's riot, the civil war and endsars2020 proved this beyond doubts.

And the day that happens, I sha pity politicians, the nigerian police officers, the judiciary, pastors and imams.

Them no go believe wetin nigerians go take their eyes see!

LordAdam16:
china has surpassed russia in many areas
but china is still behind russia and the us in certain key areas

i think this debate often highlights how people understate the value of technological heritage/first-mover advantage
especially in relation to the technological advancements of upstarts

i will give an example
warships are classified into five major classes by capability
battleships, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, littoral ships/patrol boats

since the fall of the soviet union (more than 30 years ago), russia has not built a new destroyer
meanwhile, in the last 15 years alone, china has built two entire new classes of destroyers from scratch
with 45 active units
10 of which, the type 055 destroyers, are equivalent to western cruisers

but because of russia's technological heritage with the soviet union's navy
they have very capable cruisers and destroyers that have been retrofitted and modernized to face up to any threat
meanwhile, they've been able to focus most of their efforts into rapidly developing new weapon systems like the burevestnik and building far more consequential systems like nuclear subs

and this is where mathematics and physics are undefeated

if russia can throw 10 geniuses at a problem
china can throw 100 geniuses at the same problem

so you have a situation where russia has given up on trying to compete in certain technological areas
because the us has 330 million people, can pick up bright minds from half the planet, and has a supporting cast of very capable vassals in places like germany, south korea, japan, isn'treal, uk, france...
china has 1 billion people

so for instance, russia has no chance of developing their own equivalent of ASML or Nvidia or Huawei or CATL
in the biosciences, russia does not compete
not because they do not have the brains, but because they do not have the numbers
a genius working on rocket propulsion will not be available to develop an euv machine
meanwhile china has 2 geniuses on rocket propulsion, another two on developing an euv machine, another 2 on alzheimer's research, another two on astrobiology

this discrepancy will become more visible as the years turn into decades
right now, china is still playing catch-up
they want to get to a point where they are on par with the other two on every metric
that is still a decade off
but after that, the gap will get wider and wider
it'll be like the uk vs the us
once upon a time, the uk led in everything
then the us caught up, and then the us blew past whatever the uk could conjure up

also, i think the balance of power within the hegemony will evolve
right now, the us dominates entirely
no one can cough
that will change slowly
certain powers will have more voice and influence

you see this for instance in the iran war
where more states were like, f*ck this, we're out
the us was like "how dare you", "you'll pay" and the others were like "shut up, grandpa"
turkey was like, there will be no kurdish incursion
and that plan which was a main pillar of the preparations was scrapped

japan for instance will be less of a vassal and more of a partner
like that japan-sk-australia bloc is a cheat code that will be unshackled

if i am in the kremlin, i will be very worried about 50-70 years from now
sure, the us will not be the sole dominant superpower that it was in the 1990-2010 period
but it doesn't need to
it does not need to lead in everything, it just needs to lead its coterie in enough to remain the top dog, while delegating more roles to the others
china will become the closest thing to what the us was
and all the middle powers will have split roles with the us-led bloc and the china-led bloc
such that a russia-led bloc will become progressively diminutive relative to the other two blocs

ultimately, this is one reason why i don't get this insistence by the Beltway to preserve the unipolar order
at great cost
stop trying to make the sun shine at night

a multi-polar world is not as bad for western interests as they make it seem

-Lord
The detailed body of your explanation as always, informs properly.

"china has surpassed russia in many areas
but china is still behind russia and the us in certain key areas"

However, I'm more interested in your first paragraph as outlined above. Now, kindly elucidate the respective areas you're referring to in that statement.

So China is superior by copying others (Russia and U.S) ?

No original ideas, just copy and improve upon.

Why can't China still build their own indigenous aircrafts and engines till today?

Even their military equipments are Russian copies.

Even their automotive industry, AI na just copy from U.S and paste.

I love China but whenever I look at both countries, only Russia gives me hope.

Russia is building things that really matters, not fancy and shiny things.
"No original ideas, just copy and improve upon".

And by the original ideas that your version of Russia happens to have, you mean the foundational ideas laid down by the USSR, right?

Very much sounds like Russia has largely been copying and improving on ideas that were originally the ideas of a handful of joined countries under the Soviet canopy.

Russia is building things that really matter and China is building fancy and shiny things? Lol. Brotherman, no offence, but you sound more like an obsessed fanatic of the bear than someone who's actually looking to debate with verifiable facts.

Maybe when I'm done with work today, we can sit down and you outline to me what things Russia is building that matter more than what China is.

Last time I checked, China has been more useful to the African continent than Russia. The bulk of what Africa has benefitted from Russia as a world player has mostly centered around military hardware and grains.

Least I don't need to tell you what China has been to your own continent and country.

Russia builds it's own aircrafts, engines and submarines from scratch while China still imports foreign ones.

Yet someone would claim China is more technologically superior than Russia.
My brother, don't start this conversation. It is triggering, offensive and an outright insult to China.

China as we know it today, is technologically superior to Russia and every other country on the globe.

This is not even supposed to be a debate, but if it ever is, only the US can be argued to be at par with China technologically, but available data puts China ahead.

Acceptably, Russia has made military technological advancements and a chunk of that has been due to the Ukraine impasse since 2022. But even arguing that Russia militarily supercedes China, is a vague assertion that currently cannot be confidently substantiated because China has not been involved in any major military conflicts in recent times. So we don't know what they possess or not, especially as Beijing is known to be very tight-lipped on their military capabilities.

We can debate on other sundry issues, but if you make the mistake of putting Russia ahead of China in technological advancements for any reason, crowd fit gather you beat!

That bank ought to have found a merger with another commercial bank to be able to stay afloat.

They seem to have lost much of their initial start-up liquidity and have over the years resorted to sharp practices to stay in business.

And they're even lucky it's in a lawless economic environment like Nigeria's. That's how they were doing gymnastics with Innoson's money until court proceedings found that the bank was actually the one indebted to Innocent Chukwuma.

Very useless bank with their gay colours😐!

this electricity connection is actually small chops
compared to what the reformists and their realtor bffs have planned with the $300B "reconstruction fund"

prelim details are shared here
https://www.aol.com/exclusive-iran-deal-includes-300-175751530.html

essentially, instead of getting reparations
they're inviting foreign capital to fund reconstruction with the expectation of a return
which means the west (through their companies) will get back that $300B with profit adjusted for inflation

now, it would have been better to get the funds from china to rebuild key facilities like damaged refining, steel, electricity, and petrochemical facilities at less than 2% or at no interest but with the same profit incentives
and then direct the $300B to other underinvested areas
but apparently, they've already gotten commitment for $150B which would only happen if they had offered access to sumptuous economic assets

oh, and let's not forget that this fund will only be available after they have made satisfactory nuclear concessions to the us
a condition that does not apply to axis (russia/china) investment

the central bank governor of iran is heading to russia today
but the idea that the reformists are already doing a fire sale to the tune of $300B to the same doofuses that bombed them
before inviting the russians and chinese to have what should be right of first refusal to economic opportunities is scandalous

-Lord
