Sir, four years ago ACN wasn't in control of SW. It was PDP in Ogun and Oyo, LP in Ondo with Aregbe and Fayemi just one year in office. Why people voted for ACN candidates was because they had thought that their states will be transformed like "hyped" Lagos state. Four years later, Ekiti kicked out Fayemi, many elected officials left APC in Oyo and Ogun. For the Presidential election, Ribadu stood no chance from the on set. Even ACN wasn't keen on winning, party leaders supported GEJ. Today, Buhari isn't popular in SW among the populace. Influential Yorubas aren't even queuing behind him. Tinubu has lost his political goodwill. That's the situation on ground. You need people to sell your candidacy, it is the reason why political leaders and influencers are sought after by candidates.
