Chief Victor Chukwunoyelum Umeh, a candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), emerged as the winner of the Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election.


He got 64,879 votes. Umeh is the first from APGA to win it’s first Senate seat of the Nigeria Senate. APC came a distant second with 975 votes why PPA came third with 116 votes.

The Returning Officer and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone said that “Umeh is hereby declared winner and duely returned.”

A female prostitute fell five floors to her death during an ‘extravagant balcony sex’ on a hotel balcony.


The local police CCTV footage shows Wannipa Janhuathon, 26-year-old, going home with Briton Reece Vella, 25-year-old , who is a convicted rapist.

Vella, who is from Birmingham, West Midlands, was arrested on Monday by the Thai police in connection with Wannipa’s death.



Wannipa, who was also known as Joy, was found dead,naked and with a half-empty packet of sex drugs in an apartment in tourist hot spot Pattaya on Saturday morning.

The surveillance images show the two of them walking next to each other and minutes after, Vella, who paid her 1,500 baht, or just £34, for sex.


They both arrived at the Cosy Beach View condominium at 3.13am and she died 2 hours and 15 minutes after.

She was seen standing, bent slightly forward in black shorts and a white top and Vella, wearing a black shirt, army pattern shorts and trainers, stood behind her.

She was found dead some hours later, she suffered severe head injuries due to the fall, while Vella allegedly fled on a motorbike with her phone.

The 26-year-old prostitute worked at a bar in high-risk holiday resort in Pattaya, Thailand, for several months, helping to support her family who lived in the country’s north-east region.



Vella who has allegedly been living in the country illegally, on an expired visa is being hunted by the UK police.


He is being charged of causing death by neagligent or reckless behaviour, and faces up to 10 years in prison or a fine of 200,000 Thai baht.


The police said that Vella used a motorbike as a getaway vehicle and that he had been staying in the country illegally for 59 days after his visa had expired.

He arrested on Sunday by 4pm at a nearby bar and he confirmed having sex with Wannipa in the bedroom and on the balcony. But Vella denied that he was having sex on the balcony with her when she fell to her death.


A police source in an interview said:


“The area that’s being investigated more is what happened that caused Wannipa to fall.”

“Was she alone or was she having sex at that moment? We think that this kinky sex on the balcony caused her to fall.”

“This is what we are trying to build the evidence to prove. The suspect then ran away.”

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC), of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Adeyinka Aderinto, said in an interview at Ibadan on Wednesday, that out of the 56,172 applicants who chose the university through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry and the 26,769 candidates who scored 200 and above sat for the Post-UTME of the university, and that only 9,268 candidates scored 50% and above.


He added that only 3,783 candidates who met the school’s approved admission criteria were finally recommended to JAMB for admission.

He said:

“This is what makes us who we are in offering qualitative education to our students to be the best in Nigeria and have the capacity to compete globally.”



“We are committed to meeting NYSC mobilisation for the 2017/2018 National Youth Service hence the second semester examinations in the university have begun. The examination will end the 2016/2017 session.”



“We have commenced the examinations. We have also recommended about 3,783 candidates to JAMB for admission and we are concluding the admission process by January ending.”

A Facebook user in Nigeria posted graphic pictures of children being circumcised and he offered free female circumcision at his home.

On January 3rd,2018, the man, known as Alhaji Adebayo, uploaded the pictures, with the caption saying free female circumcision in Ilorin, Kwara State, central Nigeria.

Apparently, he studied Accounting and Audit in Kwara State Polytechnic. He performs the female genital mutation at his Ajere house, Alapansanpa compound Alore area, Kwara state, Nigeria.


He received criticising comments on Facebook from concerned Nigerians and they told him to delete the post.


The post has since then drawn the attention of enforcing FGM laws in all states in Nigeria. The Female genital mutilation (FGM) is illegal in Nigeria because there have been no conviction recorded yet.
The man posted on his Facebook account the next day, saying he had been visited by campaigners from anti-FGM groups.

The Ghanaian Immigration Service (GIS) disqualified candidates who had bleached skins and stretch marks from a massive recruitment exercise.



A GIS spokesman in an interview said they disqualified them because people with such marks might bleed during the “strenuous” training.


The bar was condemned as sexist and unfair by Ghanaians and people with tattoos, dreadlocks and “bow legs” were also disqualified from the exercise.
The GIS received about 84,000 applications for 500 jobs only .



The Superintendent , Michael Amoako-Attah said in an interview:


“The kind of work we do, it’s strenuous and the training is such that if you have bleached skin or surgical marks on your body during training exercises, you may incur some bleedings.”


The GIS recruitment process states that candidates must undergo a medical and a full body check.

Christopher I. Hauptmann, 44, from Pennsylvania was found guilty of marrying a 43-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter at the same time and has been sentenced to prison.

The 44-year-old man who is a bail bondsman and bounty hunter was convicted of bigamy, forgery and unsworn falsification to authorities as he married the young lady without divorcing her mother first.
The presiding judge ordered Christopher Hauptmann to serve a term ranging from one year minus a day to two years minus a day.

Hauptmann used another name, “Christopher Buckley” on some documents.



He married Deitrich Durovick in November 2015 in South Beach and married her daughter, Kaylee Durovick in 2016 when she was 18-year-old, without divorcing Deitrich. Deitrich testified against him. She says they were never divorced legally, so their marriage still holds.


Hauptmann is now restricted from contacting Deitrich, but he is allegedly still married to Kaylee Durovick.

Gonzalo Montoya Jiménez, an inmate at a jail in the Asturias region, woke up in a hospital mortuary after he was confirmed dead by 3 doctors. He regained consciousness hours before an autopsy was to be performed on him.

He is now at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Oviedo hospital under intensive care and observation.
The hospital explained the case to Spanish news channel Telecinco as Catalepsy. Catalepsy is a condition where a person’s vital signs slow down to the point of being almost imperceptible.

His “death” was confirmed by three experienced doctors at the prison and they ordered his body to be taken to the mortuary to know the cause of his death.

Robert Esquivel Cabrera, 54 , a Mexican man who claimed to have the world’s longest man-hood has been accused by a doctor of giving the wrong information of his manhood and that it’s only 6-inches long.

He is a 54-year-old man from the northern town of Saltillo who allegedly worked on his man-hood by stretching it using weights, boast of 18.9inch manhood and cannot have sex because of the size.

Dr. Jesus Pablo Gil Muro, a radiologist who examined Mr. Cabrera, said Mr. Cabrera rejected the his words on taking off all the bandages around the man’s man-hood and he wouldn’t let the doctor see his skin.

Dr. Muro said:

“When he came here to do a CT scan, my first impression was that it was a unique and unusual case. I had never seen a patient like Roberto.”

“What the CT scan showed was that there is a very large foreskin. It goes just before the knee. But the man-hood itself is about 16 to 18cm from the pubis.”

“So, it doesn’t go all the way through the foreskin. The rest of the tissue found there is just foreskin, blood vessels, and some inflammation of the skin.”

Dr. Muro, said the man’s man-hood is only six inches long. Because of his inability to have sex anymore, Mr. Cabrera has since been registered as a disabled and he is currently receiving government handouts, despite rejecting to get a reduction because he hopes to be a porn star someday.

Nigeria’s supply of electricity situation is set to improve as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, yesterday, said it had concluded repair works on the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline, ELP, and also gas supply had been restored to the affected power plants.

NNPC’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, in a statement said:

“Escravos-Lagos Pipeline, ELP, which came down last week as a result of a fire incident has been restored and gas supply to customers on the line including power generating companies resumed.”

He also mentioned that the affected power plants with a combined generating capacity of 1,143 megawatts, will resume power generation due to the ELP restoration and gas supply resumption.
He identified the affected power plants as: Egbin Power Plant in Lagos State; Olorunshogo Power Plant, PEL Olorunshogo and Paras Power Plant in Ogun State and Omotosho Power Plant in Ondo State.


He said also that as a result of a bush fire, a section of the ELP at Abakila in Ondo State, went up in flames on January 2, 2018 , affecting gas supply to customers in Ondo, Ogun and Lagos states with subsequent shutdown of a number of power plants.

NNPC spokesperson explained that the Escravos to Lagos 36-inch Pipeline System, ELPS, is a natural gas pipeline and was built in 1989 to supply gas from Escravos in the Niger Delta to various consumption utilization areas.
