A duck which can be found predominantly in east Asia and some parts of Europe, was seen in Manhattan’s Central Park. A rare brightly colored Mandarin duck was seen swimming in the park.
The Mandarin duck’s appearance of blocks of deep green and blue feathers has made it a celebrity in the eyes of many, with so many people coming from far and wide to see the duck. It was spotted last month swimming among the mallards at Central Park’s duck pond at the southeast corner of the park.
Since the duck’s arrival, he has become so popular that a Twitter account was even opened for the duck and also has a hashtag. The duck was also named “New York’s most eligible bachelor.”
Zoo keeper, Tainow said:
"It flies fine; it eats
The mallards don’t even seem to mind it. Our orders are to leave it alone as long as it can feed and fly."

On Saturday a magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred in Haiti, with reports of a total of 188 injured citizens and 12 dead.
On Sunday, President Jovenel Moïse visited the coastal city of Port-de-Paix, just 11 miles (18 kilometers) from the quake’s epicenter.

Russian actor Ivan Krasko 87-year-old is divorcing his 27-year-old wife Natalia Krasko because she refused to have sex with him.
The couple who got married in September 2015 haven’t been having regular sex because Natalia was trying not to get pregnant because they didn’t own a house of their own and neither do they have the money to train a child.
Natalia said:
“I don’t want to become a single mother, children mean responsibility, and we don’t even have our own place.”
Since their wedding, they have been living with Krasko’s grandson Kirill’s in Moscow, Russia.

A funeral held in Ayacucho, Peru unknowingly served a contaminated food to it’s guests which killed at least nine people and made dozens more ill.
According to reports 50 people were affected and 20 out of the 50 were taken to the hospital with issues of stomach pains and vomiting.
Regional health director Jhon Tinco told a local radio station that the victims reportedly ate a meat dish and took a drink of fermented corn called Chicha.
The health Minister Silvia Pessah told a local broadcaster RPP that the food contained organophosphates, a chemicals which is used in pesticides.
Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are at it again, but this time, blows were exchanged. The battle happened yesterday night at The Plaza Hotel in New York during the New York Fashion week event.
In a viral video, Cardi B was seen confronting Nicki Minaj, which almost resulted into a physical altercation. The incident resulted in a shoe fight before the security intervened to separate them.

American rapper Malcolm James McCormick, popularly known as Mac Miller was reportedly found dead in his Studio City home on September 7, 2018. He apparently died of a drug overdose. He was scheduled to shoot a video on the day of his death.
He struggled with substance abuse in the past. He was also open about his struggles and made some references about drug abuse and death in his autobiographical 2014 mixtape “Faces.”
Miller who was in a long-term relationship with Ariana Grande that lasted for 2-years and ended this past May. Ariana said his addiction was mainly part of the reason for their breakup.
Miller who was preparing to embark on a U.S. tour after releasing his most recent album, “Swimming,” on Aug. 3. It was set to kick off on Oct. 27 in San Francisco
The Ondo state division of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), allegedly invaded a hostel in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State on Monday and beat some of the students in the hostel.
According to reports, the students were rounding-off a party they organized at about 4 AM when the place was raided by the SARS operatives and some of the students were brutally injured.
A student and eye witness said:
“The incident happened around 4a.m after the students finished their hostel party. The operatives stormed the hostel as if they were going to war. They broke the doors, burglaries and ceilings to gain entrance. When they arrived, the students initially did not open the door for them, thinking they were armed robbers. That was how they started breaking the doors to enter.
When they entered, they started beating everybody. Many students were mercilessly beaten. But some students who gave them bribe were released while those who couldn’t bribe them were whisked away by the officers.”
The Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Femi had this to say concerning the incident:
“Three students that were arrested had been released and the CP has ordered full investigation. After the investigation, if the policemen are found culpable, they will definitely pay for it, we don’t allow indiscipline in this command. I also want to use this medium to call on any student who was brutalised to come to my office with evidence and I promise we won’t spare any officer found culpable.”
The 2018 World Cup Nigerian Fans Stranded In Kaliningrad
100 Nigerian FIFA 2018 World Cup fans are reportedly stranded in Kaliningrad. According to them, they had planned to take a train from Kaliningrad to Moscow after their team( Super Eagles) lost their first match on Saturday to Croatia 2-0, but they did not have the required visas to pass through countries like Lithuania and Latvia.
Russian officials who came to their rescue provided flights for them but at a cost. But the Nigerian fans said it was too expensive. According to them, they were told the flight ticket was affordable but eventually turned out to be 28,000 Rubles ($442).
Kaliningrad’s press said in a released statement:
“Full support has been given to the Nigerian supporters who despite multiple warnings from FIFA and information alerts from the consulate, were not able to travel from Kaliningrad to Moscow on June 16. A large number of the Nigerians flew to the capital on June 18. Around 20 people already have plane tickets for the 19th.”
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority ( LASTMA), detained some pupils of Eucharistic Heart of Jesus School, Isolo, after the school bus driver allegedly violated the traffic law by not using a seat belt.
The two LASTMA officials, drove the school bus, with the driver and the children in it to their office at Isolo. The children were detained for over three hours and were released after a parent came for them, while the school bus was released to the school proprietor after an undertaking was signed.
Mr Ikem Okuhu, a parent whose children were among those taken to the station said the his children were traumatised after the encounter. He also hired a lawyer who wrote a petition to the Lagos State Ministry of Transport and also demanded for the sum of N5m to cover for the damages the officials caused, an apology and sanctioning of the 2 LASTMA officials.
The petition reads:
“On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, our client narrated how a vehicle was impounded by two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, somewhere around Isolo, Lagos, while conveying his children and others to their school, the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus School, Isolo.
The said LASTMA officials had accosted the vehicle, a Toyota Sienna, and accused the driver of not using his seat belt, shortly after he picked up two pupils in one of the streets in Isolo. The driver, according to our client, informed the officials that he was in a neighbourhood street with little or no traffic and only just picked up those pupils, but the officials jumped into the vehicle, wrest the keys from the driver and drove the vehicle with the children to their office at Isolo. It did not occur to the officials that the children were on their way to school.
Those officials drove the children to their office and detained them there for more than three hours. They refused to release them or make any effort for them to get to their school until the wife of our client arrived around 10.30am and had to take the children to school herself.
That the children missed their classes for the day is just a small portion of the issue. These children have been heavily traumatised having watched the struggle between the LASTMA officials and the driver on the way and while at their office. These officials detained these children along with the vehicle because the driver did not have the sum of money demanded by these officials.
Our client informed us that when his wife arrived at LASTMA office and demanded to know why her children were prevented from going to school by the officials, she was rudely asked to go to court if she so pleased.
Our client also informed us that he had to leave his office to effect the release of his children and upon his arrival at the LASTMA office, he was also asked to go to court if he so pleased. Our client and his wife are worried about the trauma their children had been subjected to by the illegal detention by these officials of LASTMA. They are also worried about the man hours they have lost trying to effect the release of their children, aged between six and eight, from LASTMA detention.”
The Public Affairs Officer of LASTMA, Mahmud Hassan, had this to say:
“We have a practice that when we encounter the vulnerable and the weak on a bus, most especially school buses, if the driver run afoul of the law, we allow him to proceed to wherever he is going and we send the ticket to the owner of the bus or location of the school. We don’t impound a school bus with children in it. When we encounter them like that, it is at the discretion of the officer to allow them to go.
However, in this particular instance, I have a serious doubt that a school bus was involved. But we will do our own investigation. We have inculcated it in our officers that when they see school buses, even if the driver committed an offence, they should allow him to go. We treat the weak and vulnerable with respect; we don’t allow the action of a driver to affect them negatively.”

Jahseh Onfroy, 20-year-old, popularly known as XXXTentacion was shot dead on Monday June 18 in Florida.
According to TMZ, XXXTentacion was reportedly leaving a motorcycle dealer in his car when a gunman shot him. TMZ reports that the police received a dispatch call describing a pair of suspects who drove away after the shooting.
His death was confirmed by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The office released a statement saying:
“a developing incident regarding a Shooting located at: 3671 N. Dixie Hwy., Deerfield Beach. Regional Communications received a call of a shooting at the above location at 3:57 p.m. An adult male victim was transported to an area hospital.
BSO homicide detectives said the 20-year-old victim was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach shortly before 4pm when he was approached by two armed suspects.
At least one of the suspects fired a gun striking Onfroy. Both of the suspects fled in a dark-color SUV. Investigators say it appears to be a possible robbery.”
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office later tweeted:
“the adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead”
XXXTentacion gained popularity in 2015 at 17-year-old with his song “Look At Me!” to SoundCloud.
In October 2016, XXXTentacion was charged with beating his ex-girlfriend to the point where she could not see.

Crystal made the announcement on her Instagram account on Friday, where she wrote that he came into this world at exactly 2:11 p.m. and weighs six pounds and 16 ounces and 19 inches long.
