CrimeAlleged Corruption: I’m Ready To Go To Jail — Diezani by Soren4(op): 12:49pm On Jul 17, 2017
Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is being investigated for a series of multi-billion dollar fraud and money laundering offences in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and America has threatened to squeal on her associates, Kola Aluko and Jide Omokore.
*Diezani Alison-Madueke
She said after opening up on everything that transpired in the controversial fraudulent transactions, she would be ready to be thrown in jail along with her co-conspirators.
Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s explosive comment is contained in a recorded conversation recovered by investigators probing the corruption allegations against the former minister.
Details of the conversations, according to online portal,
Premium Times, have now been filed as part of a civil complaint by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) seeking the forfeiture of over $144 million slush fund.
The trio of Mrs Alison-Madueke, Mr. Aluko and Mr. Omokore were listed as persons of interest in the civil complaint filed at the US District Court, Houston, Texas.
The complaint revealed how the three individuals laundered millions of dollars on behalf of Mrs Alison-Madueke, which was used in buying property in the US and the UK for her family in return for oil contracts to Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Ltd, AEDC, and Atlantic Energy brass Development Ltd, AEBD, two Shell companies owned by Mr Omokore.
In the conversation with Mr Aluko recorded by herself on May 14, 2014, a clearly angry Mrs Alison-Madueke admitted to helping her associates secure the multi-billion dollars Strategic Alliance Agreements, SAAs, deals.
In another conversation with another unknown recipient, the former minister dared Aluko to reveal details of their dealings, and then face the consequences.
She was, however, furious at how the ostentatious acquisitions of Messrs Aluko and Omokore might have led law enforcement agencies across the world to their shady dealings.
In the recorded conversation, Mrs Alison-Madueke, in response to speculations that Mr Aluko was going to blackmail her, threatened to spill the beans.
She said she was ready to reveal to Nigerians all that happened and was ready to follow Messrs Aluko and Omokore to jail.
She said: “I will tell him (Aluko) to bring everything out, and then you know what will happen? No problem, I will be happy to escort all of you to jail along with myself. I said, in fact, you’ll be shocked by what I will do. Because when it comes to that, I will come out and tell the Nigerian people this is what happened.
“Anything they want to say, I am happy to go. But I will come out openly and say it so that they can judge me openly. And then all of us go and sit on the gate. Let us see who survives, me or you.”

Nairaland GeneralMan Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Rape by Soren4(op): 11:48am On Jul 17, 2017
An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday sentenced a 19-year-old man, John Julius, to life imprisonment for raping a 35-year-old woman, Alice Ozar, in Efon Alaaye.
Justice John Adeyeye, who handed down the sentence, held that Julius was convicted for rape which is contrary to Section 357 and punishable under Section 358 of Criminal Code Cap 16 Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2012.
The incident occurred on July 16, 2016 at Okemesi Road in Efon Alaaye while the convict was first arraigned in court on March 7 this year.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges of rape and assault with intent to commit unnatural offence preferred against him.
The prosecution called three witnesses including the victim to prove the case while exhibits including the convict’s statement and victim’s pant were tendered and admitted.
Julius called his mother as a witness and also spoke in his own defence in the course of the trial.
The victim told the court that she was working on her farm on the fateful day while the convict pretended as if he wanted to help her which she obliged.
Ozar revealed that Julius kicked her and she fell to the ground after which he pinned her down, forcibly tore her pant and had carnal knowledge of her.
Justice Adeyeye held: “Unfortunately it will appear I have no discretion on the issue of sentence in view of the decision of the Supreme Court in Lucky v State (Supra) where it was held thus: ‘Any person who commits the offence of rape be liable to imprisonment for life.
“Once the court convicts an accused person for the offence of rape as defined in Section 357 of the Code, it has no discretion but is bound to obey the law by imposing a term of imprisonment for life.
“Consequently, the defendant is hereby sentenced to life imprisonment.”

Nairaland GeneralCSO Urges FG To Raise Taxes, Prices Of Tobacco by Soren4(op): 5:16pm On Jul 16, 2017
The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre has called on the Federal Government to raise taxes on and prices of tobacco to reduce its consumption in the country .
The Executive Director , CISLAC , Mr Auwal Rafsanjani , said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja , insisting that such measure had been implemented in countries where the tobacco companies operated .
Rafsanjani also said that such companies paid huge penalties for the violation of such law in their home countries , adding that Nigeria should not jettison the measure.
He said CISLAC condemned in totality , the open display of rascality arising from the recent threats by a tobacco company and other multinational tobacco firms in some African .
“ We are not unaware of some dangerous and terrible efforts by the group to frustrate successes against tobacco use across Uganda, Namibia , Togo, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo , Ethiopia , Kenya and Burkina Faso.
“ They do not mind the fact that tobacco use constitutes the second major cause of mortality in the world , leading to untimely deaths of millions of people worldwide with six million deaths annually . ’’
He said that there was also the potential of having eight million estimated deaths by 2030, most especially people in developing countries .
The executive director said that CISLAC was also aware of the evil propensity of Tobacco Industries ’ legal intimidation and threats.
He said but such threats should not constitute a formidable obstacle to the current gains recorded against the dreaded effects of tobacco use in Africa .
The executive director said the ongoing drives for the passage of Tobacco Control Regulations in Nigeria would soon be before the National Assembly for the effective implementation of the National Tobacco Control Act 2015 .
He urged the National Assembly and the government not to succumb to the legal and economic threats by the tobacco firms .
Rafsanjani also called on them to uphold the implementation of the regulations in accordance with the pro - poor provisions of WHO .
He said the advice became necessary in view of the serious implication of the use of tobacco to the socioeconomic burden of use on families , the poor , and health systems .
Rafsanjani also called on the Federal and State Ministries of Agriculture to invest in healthy means of livelihood for Nigerians and find alternative crops for hapless tobacco farmers to effectively engage in .
This, he said was to avert economic threats by tobacco industries and avoid the epidemic of Green Tobacco Sickness , a disease common to tobacco farmers.
He also called for intensified and continuous awareness among policy sponsors and policy champions of tobacco control to fast - track the passage /implementation of Comprehensive Tobacco Control laws across Africa .

CrimeHerdsmen Attack: Taraba Group Writes Osinbajo, Hires 10 Sans by Soren4(op): 8:36am On Jul 15, 2017
Following attacks by suspected herdsmen in Sarduana Local Government Area of Taraba State , a group of ethnic nationalities in the state, under the aegis of Save Our Souls Group , has asked the Acting President , Prof . Yemi Osinbajo , to bring the leaders of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association to book for alleged atrocities committed by herdsmen in the state.
The group said to get justice for those killed during the attacks , it had engaged about 10 Senior Advocates of Nigeria to handle the case at the International Criminal Court at The Hague, Netherlands . It said the herdsmen had committed acts of genocide against their people over the years .
In a petition signed by its President , Othman Dan Ali , and Secretary, Helen Adi, the group said the Presidency could not continue to ignore the assault on lives and properties by the rampaging herdsmen who, according to them , had killed many non- Fulani citizens in virtually all the states of the federation . It added that the government should not pretend as if lives of non- Fulani do not count.
The petition read , “Forgive us sir, but while we await your response , we have concluded with our lawyers to begin arrangement for a suit to be sent to ICC for all the atrocities committed in our land . We have also decided to lead a nationwide protest and even in the Diaspora to save us from annihilation.
“ As we write this, the Fulani have perfected plans to wipe us out in their renowned reprisal policy. No arrests have been made of persons openly vowing to kill us all . No attempt has been made to investigate the claims . No one has been summoned to explain the reprisals .
“ In our own state, Taraba, we have lost uncountable number of Tiv , Jukun and Kuteb in repeated attacks by Fulani. While appreciating your commitment to peaceful coexistence, we are strongly moved to write you and seek redress for many years in which we have lost countless souls and food items on our farmlands .”

RomanceRe: How To Get A Woman's Maximum Respect Without Shouting by Soren4(m): 1:44pm On Jul 11, 2017
[quote author=balash post=58311658]1. Always leave money in your pocketfor her to take not steal oh. The higher the denomination the higher the respect. If you leave N10, you get N10 respect. But for the highest of highest respect, leave hard currency. This is necessary. When she wakes up in the morning, you 'll see how happy she's because she has succeeded

2. Never ever argue with her on the price of anything. If she tells you a bag of rice is 30k, don't argue. Just give her the money. No need calling papa John to ask how much is it. It brings about see finish. If she tells you no milk give her the money, don't go checking the closet to ensure it's actually finished.

3. Always admire and praise her. Even if she looks like monkey licking lime, tell her you're the most beautiful woman you 've ever seen. Praise her k-leg, flat nose, olipi etc.

4. Give her money even if she's working. Women loves men's money. I don't know why . Give her without her asking you. It increases respect. Give her money to perm her hair, to buy chewing gum or to buy N100 recharge card.

5. Always bring paper bag home for her. Even if it's groundnut that's inside. Don't ever return home without anything for madam. Am so used to it that hubs bought me worm medicine once.

6. Treat her like a queen. Pet her like an egg. Listen to her. Don't shout her down for any reason. Even if she's not making sense, laugh holding your head and belle.

7. For the other room biz, it shouldn't be all about you. Don't come home and say "mama John go wait me for room" or you come home smiling and tell her "conji de do me" without asking how is she.

8. Go out with her whether you 've car or not. I know a lady the only time she entered her hubs car was when their 13 year old son suddenly collapsed and died in the house. It's not good, brother.

9. Don't steal her money but she can take yours . Wives dont steal but take. Any man that 'thiefs' his wife money loses respect without applying for it.

10. Always be impressed with her food. Even if the egusi is just water and leaves in one side while melon on the other side, lick your hands. Afterall if you had wanted a good cook, you for marry caterer..

11. When you come home in the evening always have your bath especially before the other room biz. This is very important if you are a truck pusher or a breaker of logs. No woman wants to lick your sweat.

12. Never ever press toothpaste from the middle. Press from the bottom. Also don't wear sandy shoes into the house or you use your shoe to climb the bed. It brings about see finish.

13. When she travels for only one week with the children, don't use all the plates, pots, cups and spoons in the house and pile them up for her to come wash. She's not your housegirl oh. Try and wash them brother. Don't also soak your clothes for her to come wash. She's not a washing machine.

14. Don't come home at 1am and expect her to come open the gate for you. She's not your aboki. If you know you are a bat get an aboki to be opening gate for you.

15. Summer holiday is coming take her on a vacation. Don't be too selfish. Take her to the beach even if it's effurun river

buh ladies of this days they don't see this as a form of respect instead they see it as a means of exploiting their lover........ But I still believe there are countless number of "moral-full " ladies...
