Nyascobar1414:If you snub them they start coming close to you. 🙄 Somehow they are more impressed with someone who doesn't give a fück. |
E N E R G Y Today I learnt that I am not a fan, I mean, this guy promised to come for their reviews and he delivered, that's the mark of a true fan. Seems I need to hit the gym to prepare for Fantastic 4 reviews because blood go flow. I'm inspired!! 💪🏾 |
Kaycee7:Ultraman was waiting for Superman to join him in the air and Superman was struggling to come of the hole Ultraman made in the ground with his body. Didn't you see the people that came to his rescue, they just slammed him on the ground and he needed a helping hand - weak ass Superman. |
pu7pl3:Look around you, everyone was hoping to see a strong Superman. What are you on about? |
bentenny:This one was not it and as much as I want to say he'll get stronger in subsequent movies, James Gunn isn't exactly someone you'll bet your money on. He's someone that bends a character to fit what he wants to write, the script comes first before adapting what a character can or cannot do. I mean, we literally watched Drax for over 8 years and we never saw him grow to the power level of his comics counterpart or access his other abilities. Drax was nerfed to oblivion and James Gunn was happy to keep him that way. |
pu7pl3:The argument being that the people of Metropolis you're so worried about were already used to seeing Superman win fights, so handing Ultraman's ass to him the first time he showed up wouldn't have made any difference to them. |
Kaycee7:Except Ultraman beat him twice, the first time they fought he nearly killed Superman and when Superman came back after charging he mopped the floor with him till he couldn't even walk, then he took off after humiliating him. |
pu7pl3:No I wrote a more detailed version of what you said because I watched the movie. You're the one here lying and making things up. Even if I wanted to take what you said at face value, those things are clearly not feats. |
pu7pl3:I don't know how you watched that movie but in the beginning we were led to believe that Superman had never lost a fight in 3 years before the Hammer of Boravia, people didn't have a problem with him not losing then. |
pu7pl3:Ultraman was a dumbed down version of him and he was fed counter moves by a human whom Superman is 100,000x faster than. Nothing excuses the way Superman was handled in the beginning. He wasn't having any problems with the Kaiju because the Kaiju had never grown that big before and it was confused, slow and it's only fire power was literally fire which does nothing to Superman. You can hardly call beating that kind of creature a feat. He wasn't fending off Ultraman in that field, don't stretch it. Ultraman was landing hits and when he beat the shit out of him The Engineer proceeded to suffocate him with nanites while he was on his knees and his flight out of earth was an escape mechanism. The Raptors weren't exactly clothed in Vibranium or anything like that, your idea of flattening them was just spraying them with heat vision. If he didn't do that at the end we would have questioned if he had heat vision. Do you really expect us to be impressed by that? Do you even know what a feat means? He beat a brain dead version of himself and don't mention him getting out of that black hole without Metamorpho. Don't forget he was holding his baby so Metamorpho pulled with every strength he had. At least you have accepted his reaction speed is shit, maybe we are getting somewhere. |
DieRich5:You guys are even going too far with this. There's no way Lex Luthor would be able to give instructions in the middle of a fight between 2 Kryptonians (one by birth and the other by DNA) unless one was completely dumb and the other was Corenswet's Superman. Even if he was moving at Makkari's level, Lex wouldn't be able to see him coming and he would have broken Ultraman in under 60 seconds. You guys are talking about speed as if he faced an intergalactic being where he needed that kind of speed. This was supposed to be a regular day in the park and he was utterly dog walked, dragged across the ground and kicked in the nuts. |
pu7pl3:Please mention the feats. |
bentenny:This Superman was the weakest to ever to be released on screen, there's no way this weakling is not getting cooked by characters like Doomsday or Darkseid. Assuming he hit Guy Gardener in that building when he was asked to make a movie, Guy would have mopped the floor with him. There's absolutely no way Green Lantern who has watched Superman for 3 years and knows what he can do will challenge an angry Superman like that unless he didn't rate him. Also you have to understand that Ultraman in this movie is not Superman's equal. He's a dumbed down version of Superman, Lex Luthor only said he's as stupid as Superman out of spite so beating him is no feat. Lex mentioning a few moves that have to be entered into a computer before sent to his brain is what enables this empty vessel to not only mop the floor with Superman but almost kill him Superman had to go back to get an ample dosage of the Sun only to get whooped again. Oh and if not for metamorpho, dude would have been swallowed whole by a black hole. |
pu7pl3:When I wrote my review on The new avengers didn't you laugh at it? Na today we start to dey laugh reviews we don't agree with? Abeg get out. |
Superman (2025) - 60% The DCU adopted the one strategy their retarded fans have criticized the MCU for years—using mediocre movies to break even or turn a profit at the box office. I don't know why I didn't piece it together before; this is clearly why James Gunn was hired—to create another version of the MCU. His job was to replace the M with a D and shoot all the movies in the same style that DC fans have called lame for years. I mean, how is it a coincidence that the very first movie that kick-starts the DCU is the worst thing James Gunn has directed since 2014? Nicholas Hoult is outstanding in this movie; he's just too good for it. Acting-wise, I think he is ahead of everybody else. I don't know why he didn't get praised a lot for this, but I love the fact that I wasn't aware of what he did and then I just went into the movie and got blown away. He beat David Corenswet (not like Corenswet stood a chance) in a movie where he's supposed to be number one. Also, he's the one with the stupidest script, but it's what he does with it that makes him stand out. Corenswet comes in second, and the rest could be replaced with C-list actors and the acting would still land. Corenswet is a good Superman; he's not a great actor, but he does what needs to be done. He nails Superman's character, although Gunn and his ideas do not allow him to showcase Superman's abilities. Their costumes are bad, except for Superman (I'm not blaming his mum) and Mr. Terrific. CGI and almost everything else is MCU-level stuff. There's nothing god-tier or next-level about anything else here. Everything is like what you've seen before in the MCU. In fact, the plot is bad; it has many aspects that don't make sense even by the standards of what the movie is working with—Lex Luthor being its biggest issue. For Hoult to handle this and beat Chukwudi Iwuji (the High Evolutionary) with what he delivered is really something. Anyways, enough about Hoult; everything I want to say concerning the plot has already been dissected on the thread. This one na MCU in disguise. Gunn shouldn't have written this movie; what worked in his Guardians movies doesn't work here. The pace is as dumb as the things that keep the movie going when the plot has run into a brick wall. |
pu7pl3:Yes, when you're called out on your hypocrisy the light of your common sense goes dim, you become blind and you can't comprehend simple words. I completely understand, it doesn't mean what has to be said won't be said. |
pu7pl3:I haven't even watched Superman till the end. I was watching it, I think I got to about 20 minutes and then I abandoned it to go watch how to train your dragon since everyone around was saying that's the better movie but even that one too is not that good. What I've watched and the few clips I've seen is not even enough for me to counter his review or even write my own. When Thunderbolts came out on digital, almost everyone on the thread was calling it mid or bad, until I dropped my review where I gave it 80% (although I do think it was a decent movie, the score might have been too high but whatever). Superman gets released on digital and people are ripping it apart, I go to the next page and it's abduleez's review. It's equally long and the score is 8/10 🙃. How is this not funny? I haven't even said anything, I just laughed and what? You want to call me out for laughing at what your near-useless pet dog wrote? Are you being serious? Don't even start, unless you're up for it. |
😂😂😂😂😂 ha ha ha ha ha🤣🤣🤣😭😭😂🤣😂 |
FergieRaww:Respect to the people who watched this show and The Vampire Diaries and enjoyed both of them; their opinions are valid. I couldn't even finish The Originals, and judging by word of mouth, The Vampire Diaries is supposed to be a weaker show. Hard pass. |
Chibudollar:Just rewatched season 1 with a little fast forward and it was bang average, it felt like watching something I have seen executed the same way several times over. |
FergieRaww:You have every right to speak your mind, nobody here buys data for you and this thread was not created for certain people. Faithfuls can go to hell, we can't all like or enjoy the same things. |
FergieRaww:Your review on the originals is so spot on. For a supernatural show it's mostly talk and no action and sometimes they overdo it. |

MSGAMBLE9:I just decided to look back on the statistics because even while they were yapping their nonsense I knew it was grossly exaggerated. I looked back at phase 1 and they made decent profit, although some of the movies in that phase had controlled budgets - making profit while earning under $500M. The profits were larger in phase 2 but phase 3 was where the MCU became a certified cash cow, that was the peak, then from there onward was diminishing returns. Also, all these talk about green lighting movies here and there is funny because phase 4 had 7 movies and phase 5 had 6, these numbers are not out of the norm. Phase 1 and 2 had 6 movies each, in fact before the release of endgame Kevin approved 9 movies - 9. Phase 3 ended with a total of 11 movies, but we didn't hear all these nonsense because it put the MCU at the forefront of CBM success. Now DC tards want to come out of their caves after rebooting their universe (as if that guarantees success). Thankfully 2 movies are coming from there next year. I really want to see the numbers Clayface and Supergirl (the one where they couldn't find anybody else to play Lobo they had to recast the previous hero "Aquaman" )will do at the cinemas. |
SOZINN:*Correction. I didn't even include Spiderman far from home in this, these figures are just for phase 4 and 5 combined. Let me include it: Far from home grossed $1.113B on a budget of $160M. This makes the total budget $3.193B to $3.293B and the total gross is $10.449B post endgame. The break even set at $8.2B to $8.7B. |
[img][/img] BlackManta:Oga pay close attention to the figures and stop yapping. The MCU spent approximately $3.033B to $3.113B post endgame and grossed $9.336B at the box office. Going by conventional calculations the MCU's break even is currently set at $7.8 to $8.3B. So the MCU is still in profit if you're calculating just grosses post endgame without digital revenue, yes they are experiencing diminishing returns but they are still profitable. All these are before the release of Spiderman: Brand New day and 2 Avengers movies, so going forward the MCU will still be profitable. |
BlackManta:Your breakdown of Spiderman Far from home riding on the momentum of endgame is useless because it's not the only movie released post endgame that was riding on that momentum, also "biggest and best selling" character does not guarantee a billion dollars, man of steel did not gross a billion for DCEU, and neither will superman for DCU, get out of here. Black widow, Shang Chi and Eternals flopped, no excuses. Now you're back again with all these nonsense yapping about fan service. The Flash; the first solo movie of the iconic character that was waited for, for over a decade came with 2 widely known batmen, 2 supermen - one dead the other alive and 2 super girls still fell flat on its face. Talk to me about fan service as a DC fan. No one likes Thor Love and Thunder? Your near useless opinion does not account for the people that liked it and thought it was worth watching at the cinemas. Saying that Taika is in director jail is you yapping nonsense without facts as usual. He announced he'll be stepping away from Thor to work on other movies he signed for even before Thor 4. He's actively working on Klara and the sun, Incal, Time Bandits for Apple Tv and the live action adaptation of Akira, where he'll be directing for WB and he has described his relationship with the MCU as an open relationship. Saying Black Panther 2 with 84% critic score, 93% audience score and $852M at the box office on a budget of $250M, slightly underperformed is just you talking out of your ass at this point. Ant Man 3 was a flop. The Marvels was a bigger flop, did not make back it's budget just like Wonder flop 1984 and James Gunn's The Suicide Flop. Captain America 4 flopped and so did Thunderbolts. All your crying about Deadpool and Wolverine's massive success does not change anything, if anything it just exposes the jealousy you feel because you thought it would end up like The Flash. I remember how you wished it would flop, you shamelessly promised to deactivate your account and I wish you did but you couldn't even keep your promise. Now heading into the TV shows, no one knows how much they made the MCU because the amount these studios make on digital releases isn't public knowledge so I'll be working with their scores from critics and their audience scores as well. The Falcon and Winter soldier scored 84% with the critics and 81% with general audience. Hawkeye did 92% and 88% with critics and audiences. Moon Knight 86 and 88%, Ms Marvel 98 and 80%, She Hulk was below average in audience score and only secret invasion and echo had average scores in both categories. |
oyaskii:How convenient of you to cherry-pick only the underperforming films as evidence of Kevin Feige's response to the MCU’s Endgame-era success. Alright, let’s go with your logic. Here's his actual response: Spider-Man: No Way Home – $1.9 billion Spider-Man: Far From Home – $1.1 billion Deadpool & Wolverine – $1.3 billion Meanwhile, Doctor Strange 2, Wakanda Forever, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 each landed between $845 million and $952 million. Now what stupid litmus test are you talking about? Does the success or failure of one film dictate the performance of every film that follows? If that’s your logic, is Superman now the ultimate benchmark for the DCU’s future? Do you honestly think $551 million for a James Gunn Superman movie is impressive? Isn't Superman supposed to be one of the top three most iconic characters in comics? Don’t forget—Gunn pulled in over $750 million with a bunch of no-names in Guardians of the Galaxy. Since when is fan service in sequels to successful films a bad thing? Far From Home crossed a billion. No Way Home, which was packed with fan service, made nearly $2 billion. Honestly all this yapping about fan service is really why I'm so glad The Flash happened, because DC tried fan service and didn’t even come close to success. |
I DieRich5:I want to see Miles Morales in it too. 😁 |
Apparently Spider-man: Brand New Day already has a teaser. The marketing on this one is going to be massive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5hO-rC27WY?si=IhenuEXqTt5jBibB |
)will do at the cinemas.
