East African rapper Jose Chameleone thought wearing a nearly $13,000 NASA-approved space suit, during his concert late last month, would be a great idea.

He was wrong.

Rather than "make history" for his top-of-the-line $12,700 astronaut wear, Chameleone's story took a different turn when he almost suffocated inside the costume. The suit ended up being a walking death trap-- which he found out during the set.

Not long after hitting the stage, Chameleone couldn't breathe inside the headpiece because there was no oxygen pumping through it (which is a necessity). Once he freed his dome, the Ugandan rhymer ran into another problem: he couldn't really move.

Defeated, Chameleone decided to pull the plug on the operation but forgot the instructions on how to remove the suit. He nearly suffocated as the heat inside the suit began to rise.

No word on how he managed to escape, but according to a report from the concert, he was able to rock the crowd well past midnight.

Hundreds of staff of telecoms giant Globacom gathered at the lounge situated on the ground floor of the office building to celebrate with their chairman after a text message was passed round the office on Thursday afternoon inviting staff to a birthday bash with him. Mike Adenuga turned 60 on Monday April 29th.

Okey Bakassi was there as the MC, the DJ was already playing music, drinks passed round while people waited for the billionaire businessman to arrive. Mike Adenuga eventually showed up in his Range Rover bullet proof SUV around 8pm. He graciously greeted people at the entrance of the lounge but stopped in his tracks as people started cheering loudly as he entered the lounge.

The haling was so loud and probably too much for Adenuga that he immediately turned around and left the lounge. He got into his car and left with his security detail. He never came back.

Glo staff waited for a few hours and eventually left when they realized their chairman was not coming back. Lesson learnt: Mike Adenuga doesn't appreciate unnecessary famzing :-)

Burna Boy yesterday May 3rd signed on as a Glo ambassador. Heard he replaced Wande Coal who had been negotiated and agreed with but was later dropped before signing any documents with the telecoms giant. - The senate has accused the executive of withdrawing money from the Special Funds Account (SFA) from 2002 till 2012 without due process and appropriate financial practice. Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Senator Ahmed Lawan (ANPP, Yobe State) submitted the committee’s finding in

a report on the status inquiry into the SFA, which was presented at the floor of the Senate.

The report detailed the various withdrawals made by the federal government from SFA.


The report said N1.5 trillion was accrued to the Special Funds Account as at June 30th 2012 out of which the sum of N580 billion were released as loans which have not been paid several years later.

The report also showed that several beneficiaries of the funds utilized the funds for other purposes other than what the funds were created for.

The Special Funds Accounts were initially established to mitigate peculiar areas of needs in the country in 2002.

The funds were intended to tackle erosion and other ecological problems, provide funds to develop alternative mineral resources and provide for unforeseen contingencies and economic downturn.

The Accounts, managed by the Federal Government, comprises the three per cent Development of Natural Resources Account, 1.46 per cent Derivation and Ecology Account, and 0.72 per cent Stabilisation Account.

According to the report, N1.51 trillion accrued to the SFA as at June 30, 2012, from figures obtained from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF). Out of the amount, N1.23 trillion was recorded as total payments to beneficiaries from the account, the report said.

“We are travelling to Angola with our full squad as the injured players who missed the first leg game against Libolo have started training, Rangers wrote on its official twitter account on Tuesday.

“This must have fueled the controversy between both clubs as Warri Wolves, who claim to still be the rightful owner of the player insisted they have not cleared him, and the transfer has not been finalised.”

Rangers will stand the risk of disqualification if they field Mba, who is still considered ineligible to play for Rangers in any competition.

The Institute of African Studies, University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, is set to launch Nigeria’s first Dictionary of Igbo Proverbs as a way of immortalizing its first Director and renowned poet, Prof. Donatus Nwoga, DailyPost has gathered.

Director of the Institute, Prof. Sam Onuigbo, who made this known during the maiden memorial lecture in honour of Nwoga, said that history of the Institute would be incomplete without recognizing Nwoga’s numerous research activities in languages and his other contributions to the development of the institute.

He said: “Late Prof. Nwoga initiated a project to produce dictionary of Igbo proverbs as a way of boosting Igbo language. We have continued where he stopped and we will soon make that project a reality.

“We have instituted this memorial lecture to immortalize Nwoga in view of his enormous contributions to development of the institute.

According to an eye witness, the Chemical Engineering student was shot twice on the 12th of April by some unknown gunmen off Ede Road in Osun state.

We learnt Taiwo Pelumi was making a phone call beside his car when 2 men suddenly approached him.

He was pushed to the ground and shot twice. A female student of the same school who was walking towards him at the time was kidnapped by the gunmen who eventually stole Taiwo’s car.

Taiwo was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital by some Good Samarithans.

“For you all who heard I was shot several times on Friday night that was me and I am still breathing. Thank Almighty God.” – said Taiwo in a Tweet.

'I ate my finger' ... Dave Playpenz wanted to taste his own flesh

If you couldn't tell from his name, Dave Playpenz may be one of the most interesting characters alive. The Brit was undaunted by losing his finger in a motorcycle accident, and decided to cook and eat the digit — just out of curiosity. Playpenz even earned approving words from a vegan friend of his, who agreed that the flesh was provided by a willing participant (obviously, Playpenz himself).

The "bondage furniture maker" says he was motivated to pull the stunt due to lingering fascination with cannibalism and a desire to keep his body whole." I decided that if I ate the flesh and kept the bones, then I wouldn't be losing part of me."

He boiled the finger in salt water, adding: “Because I wanted to keep the bones, I decided not to fry or roast the finger, as that would damage them.

He has been keeping the bones in a box since and insisted most of his friends did not mind his bizarre experience.
Dave added: “A couple said, ‘It’s disgusting.’ But most people are intrigued. A vegan friend of mine approved of it, as at least I had my own permission whereas animals don’t give their consent before they’re eaten.
“And no, it hasn’t turned me into some kind of Hannibal Lecter. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, which I definitely won’t be repeating.”

One person wrote, "Why call the child a little ni**a. To the rest who think its cool wth?" Another expressed a general distaste for the word. "I love the hell out of [Rihanna] but I hate that word," while another adds, "That word is derogatory. If some cultures aren't allowed to say it, no one should."

Others stood up for her, with one person using the typical excuse. "Just bcuz y'all accept the negative meaning that a word carries doesn't mean everyone else has to as well, open your mind a bit people."

Rihanna has latched on to the derogatory term, which has become a colloquialism in Black culture--depending on the color of the person using it. Jennifer Lopez, who is Puerto Rican, was criticized for dropping the "n-bomb" on the 2001 remix to "I'm Real," and Rihanna has even lashed out at non-Black people for using the word.

The Management of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun state has denied the recent claims by some students of the University that the school tuition fees of different departments for the next academic session has been increased outrageously.
In a statement signed by the Director, External and Community Affairs, Joshua Suleiman, the school Management said “Our attention has been drawn to some misinformation and misinterpretation of the University’s fees as posted on some blogs.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we present here the official fees of the 2013/2014 session as approved by the University Administration.”
“The average fee at BU is N630,500 and this covers Accommodation, Feeding, Tuition, Medical Insurance and Miscellaneous.
Suleiman stated that, “Law students are to pay N763,000 as against the reported N2million, Accounting is N763,000 as against the reported N1.5 million, Medicine is N2 million consolidated as against the reported N3 million and Nursing is N763,000 as against the reported N1 million”
The Director noted that there were no hidden charges against what the School Management approved.
It would be recalled that some students ofthe institution took to the social media such as the twitter and facebook to air their grievances over the increment in school fees.
