Check Brussels Airline: Gambia>>Brussels>>Montreal >>Toronto. You don't need a transit visa.

Please if you're an international student coming from Nigeria, please stay in countries you go to first for minimum of 2 weeks before heading to Canada. It is explicitly stated by IRCC that only people that have not lived in one of banned countries for that last 14 days would be allowed in.

Did the school follow up with you after you arrived in NL?
What was arriving in NL like, were there protocols to be followed asides the 14 days quarantine which is compulsory?
Do you have any tip on how to get an accomodation in St John's before landing?
