Pls tell us how many major industries in Canada and the US are owned by the governments of these 2 countries?...the government should not be in the business of starting businesses; The govt should not be i the business of dictating the price of currency, let the market determine the value of your currency., It might be hard now, but it will be off in the long run...Govt-owned enterprises have worked for China, but it has basically failed everywhere else.
Oh, my God. How could you have lived in North America for so long, and be expressing such massive ignorance. Oh, my God!!!!!!!! God_Ah_beg_oh!

Let me educate you how the so-called capitalist economies are fooling third world morons:

I live and work in an important and strategic department, with an extensive and vantage view of the system that I am talking about. sit down and learn:

Assuming the federal government wanted to create 20,000 jobs, the Government could GRANT each State, say, $1.5 billion (with clear mandate, strict guidelines, high scrutiny and auditing.) The mandate could be to generate sustainable employments through Export industries by industrializing each State's natural resources. Choose any resource or product

In turn, States would liaise with Banks, who would invite industries and industrialists to openly bid for the business. Successful bidders would be the owners of the industries, who will, then, start hiring workers.
The fund from federal government to States is a grant, but the finance to businesses will be a favorable, low interest BANK LOAN. It is taxes and loan repayment that are used for road construction. So, Federal or State governments have zero stake or control in the business. It's all privately owned.

Since Tinubu loves flying around around, he will be looking for TRADE PARTNERS, not begging for INVESTORS.

Let me give you an example: Assuming we are looking for a trade Partner to purchase palm oil of, say, Imo State, we could make a pitch to a tire producing country. They buy our palm oil, and we will buy their tires. So, tires from our trade partner will enjoy favorable tariffs. So, importers will import from our trade partner, because they will pay less duties. That's an elementary format of international trade. Instead, Tinubu is running around looking for investors, when we already have the funds for economic development. Who do you think underwrites large-scale business loans in America and Canada?

Have you ever heard of GOOGLE? It was financed by the US Military. Google it! Have you ever heard of Elon Musk. Find out how much the US government is behind his businesses.

Are you not aware that food supply of the United States of America is almost totally, completely, absolutely funded by the US Government through Billions and Billions of Grants and subsidies to farmers? Nigeria is starving and building road, the US government is funding their farmers to produce food.

Have you ever heard of Area 51? It is a cutting edge R & D (Research and Development) Facility fully run by the US government. What do you think happens to inventions and technologies that come from this facility and other facilities. It is pushed into the public domain through private businesses. But these technologies are fully developed by the US government

Nigeria is closer to crippling socialism than capitalism, because Nigeria is practicing a retrogressive, over-centralized economic system that equalizes all States in the Federation to a standstill. Nigeria is practicing a centralized system that nationalizes poverty. Can the US Government control oil revenue of Texas or Alska the way Nigerian government is doing to Rivers resource revenue? Can Canadian government take the revenue of Alberta petroleum?

Just like most Nigerians, you live abroad, but have no clue how the economic system works. If you don't know, then, imagine how less people in Nigeria know.

Tinubu prides himself in applying all the methods that IMF and WORLD BANK uses to wreck cthird world countries. They make you remove subsidies, devalue your currency, depreciate your national asset, so that you will be reduced to nothing for easy picking. Meanwhile, their entire economy rests indirectly on subsidies.

Have you ever heard of BAIL OUT? Do you know how much every business in Canada received for Covid? Government gives big failing industries Billions upon Billions of dollars to prop them up, so that citizens will have jobs. If you did the same, they will tell you it is socialism. And you will wait for them to come and invest in your economy, when you have the money, resources and workforce. All you have to do is hide behind Banks, and develop your country.

Give me Nigeria, and, in 2 years, the country will be prosperous. Crimes, insecurity and social instability will decline, because of abundance of jobs. Tribal conflicts would significantly reduce, because success creates contentment, happiness, unity.

This is completely utter crap; you obviously don't understand how a true market economy works.

"During the Great Depression, massive infrastructure projects were built through government programs like the New Deal, including iconic structures such as the Hoover Dam, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Empire State Building. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Public Works Administration (PWA) also funded countless other projects, including the creation of new schools, libraries, parks, roads, and airports. "

Pls do more research before writing such a long epistle.
You just expressed one of our biggest problems. We read books, and willy-nilly implement ideas, without considering special circumstances. The United States was already an economic Juggernaut. The great deal was designed to inject money into the economy to make people spend money. First, if injecting money into the economy was Tinubu's intention, why did Tinubu introduce policies that created austerity measures? Tinubu's policies made basic commodities so expensive and affordable, to the extreme that people can barely afford basic, survival items? How does this situation inject money into the economy? That is eminently contradictory. Second, what are you producing that people are going to buy to stimulate the economy? This is why Nigerians become humbled when they come abroad, and realize that all the things they think they know are utter rubbish. The only people who will benefit from the construction projects are Tinubu and his corrupt group, who will have kickbacks deposited into their foreign accounts. Is that not the reason Wike is maniacally building Abuja. What difference has all that construction done to Nigeria's economy? No number of road can appreciate value of Naira!

Most of the projects would not be completed, anyway. Employments created by construction projects are FINITE, temporary jobs, which last until the project is finished or abandoned. Construction projects do not create SUSTAINABLE and QUALITY employments. Even if they create jobs, they do not help diversify the economy, earn foreign exchange revenue, raise the value of the local currency, rescue the economy from dangerous dependence on one major export, or initiate massive industrialization. We need to produce! On a massive scale. We already have the funds. Later, Tinubu would fly around to looking for investors to invest $12 billion in Nigeria's economy, when he himself is spending $100 billion on bullet train and road projects. You already had the funds, the minerals and natural resources and vibrant population, to manufacture on a massive, INDUSTRIAL scale, and have ALL Nigerians working. I say ALL because anyone who wants a job here in Canada, US and other Advanced Nations will find it. People come from all over the world, and find work. Do you think it's miracle?

Call it whatever you wish but this match, this qualifying session has further proven the decline of this country ....My appeal to all Nigerians is to wake up from the slumber which is primarily ethnicity.and tribal conflicting and let us start to build a proper nation.
Nigeria's problem is NOT ethnic or tribal conflict. If Nigeria was constantly experiencing economic growth and great prosperity, then, Nigerians would have something to rally round, unite, celebrate, and proudly defend. Just like Nigerians unite, become one and celebrate major sporting glory! There are more ethnic groups in the US and Canada. People come from all over the world, and form their own Nations. We have 'Little Italy,' 'China Town' and others. The diversity of Nations and differences is much more than Nigeria. But everyone is flourishing and united under one great, prosperous Nation. Success is the greatest element that connects and integrates different people and provides a sense of unity and shared purpose. Nigerians unite, become one and celebrate major sporting, art or culture!

Nigeria's problem is INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP. They are clueless! till now! Let me give you tiny example:

The country is facing extreme lack of economic opportunities which has resulted in lack of jobs, extreme hardship, crimes and insecurity, and the leadership are building projects that do not alleviate economic hardships, create sustainable employments or generate wealth for the country. At all levels, the leadership are misplacing funds that should be used for economic development.Instead of MASSIVE scale production to create employments, they build roads, convention center, 5-Star hotel, modern market, etc. Idiot Tinubu is wasting $60 billion on bullet train. No number of road can appreciate value of Naira; only massive PRODUCTION and EXPORT will. Federal and State Governments are scrambling over each other to sign contracts for projects that pays millions of scarce dollars to foreign firms: $14 billion! $20 billion. $60 billion. $900 million! $400 million! $100 million. $50 million. Just 0.1% of the funds misplaced on bullet train can create miles of cocoa warehouses in the West for EXPORT. Cocoa production is a massive source of employment in Ghana. Nigeria can out-produce Ghana. Ebonyi State alone can saturate West Africa with Rice, etc. Industries that create gainful employment is real development, not bullet train or convention centres.

Gainful employment results in quality livelihood, creates a sense of well-being and contentment, brings happiness, peace, social stability and security. Now, they are fighting insecurity in isolation, without a clue that it is a symptom of lack of economic opportunities.

Here's a small example: do we not use tires in Nigeria? Money wasted on Enugu convention centre, for example, can fund massive palm oil industry for export to tire producing country. They are laughing at us that we use their tires, keep their industries open, and we don't sell them anything in return. And our people would run to their countries to find work. It's unbelievable.

This is just a summary of the incompetence of Nigeria's leadership. It does not matter who the leader is. Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu or Jonathan. They will all do the same thing, because they have no clue the secret of Advanced Nations.
Nairaland GeneralNigerian Artistes Are Now Stars Of Dancehall, R&B, Trap, Pop, Rap, Reggae! by SpiritedCheer(op): 8:03pm On Sep 26, 2025
I am on vacation in Malawi, and the hotel where I am staying is tuned to Internet Radio station. I selected Afrobeat, and most of the songs I heard were Wizkid playing Dancehall, Tems, playing r&b, Olamide, playing Trap, etc. I literally did not hear even one authentic Afrobeat, but FUSION of Dancehall, R&B, Rap, Trap and Pop, Reggae, etc, by Nigerian artistes. I hope our guys are making money, because playing other people's music is how to lose relevance. I went on YouTube and discovered 'Adunni' by Rybeena.
PoliticsRe: "You have no business telling me how to criticise Tinubu" - Sowore Replies DSS by SpiritedCheer(f): 5:05pm On Sep 12, 2025
Tinubu looks half-dead, but still want to be a Dictator.

As corrupt and incompetent as Nigeria's leadership have been, the corruption and incompetence of Tinubu is on a different level. He knows only bribery and corruption. The only thing that matches his lust for power is insatiable greed for self-enrichment.

Tinubu is seeking a second term, even though, he was never qualified to be President in the first place. Nigerian constitution mandates a minimum academic qualification, but after two years, the man has been unable to produce a credible former school mate. He cannot even read a simple, prepared speech.

SportsRe: South Africa Vs Nigeria: 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (1 - 1) On 9th Sept 2025 by SpiritedCheer(f): 5:48pm On Sep 09, 2025
Nigeria toys around with the ball aimlessly, without giving themselves a chance to score. They possess and push the ball up to the midfield, but consistently attack from the flanks. Sometimes, you see 2 attackers vs 3 defenders in South Africa box, and Nigeria is still trying to get to the wings. Lob the ball into the box, and give your attackers a chance. Give yourself a chance by taking scoring chances.

Comment of a Nigerian under the news:

Nigeria is wealthy, though. We have enough human and natural resources to be one of the richest countries.

Our new President implemented similar policies that IMF and World Bank uses to completely impoverish developing countries, through radical devaluation of assets, currency and resources. Basic necessities now have premium prices. And the idiot President never stops glorifying his austerity measures as necessary restructuring. And in the midst of the extreme hardship, his tribal supporters always claim things are getting better.

Meanwhile, there's a swirling rumor that Nigeria's President is a foreign agent who is taking orders from US controlled World Bank. In the '80s, the man who is now President was indicted for distributing narcotics by the US Justice system. But he was made to only forfeit proceeds of his illicit trade. It is widely believed in Nigeria that he became an FBI informant in exchange for leniency. All his policies benefit foreign interests who might want to swoop in and buy up the country cheaply.

Nigeria is not broke because we still have massive oil and gas revenue. But the wealth does not reach the masses.

As corrupt and incompetent as Nigeria's leadership have been, the corruption and incompetence of the incumbent president is on a different level. He knows only bribery and corruption. The only thing that matches his lust for power is insatiable greed for self-enrichment. He has used bribery of law makers to turn himself into virtual Dictator. With bribery, he has captured all parastatals and arms of government. Now, there's no limit to exercise of autocratic power. Merely talking about the prevailing economic hardship triggers an invitation to 'chat' with the security agency.

Having effectively become an autocrat, the President is now pulling massive infrastructure-scam. The country is literally starving to death, and citizens are paying premium price for basic needs and bare necessities, like countries at war, but the President is doggedly focused on infrastructure projects worth hundreds of billions of dollars, that do not even slightly alleviate economic hardship. Infrastructure projects is how Nigeria's ruling class legitimately transfer billions of dollars abroad. Kickbacks from inflated contracts would be deposited abroad, and they will later retire to lives of extravagant luxury. Federal and State Governments are scrambling over each other to sign contracts with foreign firms for projects that pays millions of scarce dollars to foreign firms: $14 billion! $20 billion. $60 billion. $100 billion. $900 million! $400 million! $100 million. $50 million. Instead of creating wealth, they are shipping out wealth from a country that's facing extreme lack of economic opportunities, which has resulted in lack of jobs, extreme hardship, crimes, insecurity and social instability.

The President is seeking a second term, even though, he was never qualified to be President in the first place. Nigerian constitution mandates a minimum academic qualification, but after two years, the man has been unable to produce a credible former school mate. He cannot read a simple speech.

Nigeria was supposed to be the hope of Africa, but criminal corruption of the leadership has set the country backward by several decades.

Stop giving us financial assistance. Only a tiny fraction of it will reach the people, anyway. Our President is personally wealthier than some small countries. Heads of government ministries are equally wealthy.

They have already paid for the road in full: $14 billion. Nigerians are starving, and Tinubu has spent $60 billion on projects that do not alleviate economic hardship, because signing multi-billion dollar construction contracts with foreign firms is the method the ruling class legitimately ships massive funds abroad.
In advanced economies, leaders are evaluated by the range and extent of economic opportunities that their policies created. In Nigeria, we celebration Governors for building flyovers. But it's all about jobs! We need industries and export. Quality employments create contentment, peace, social stability and security. Now, they are fighting insecurity in isolation. But insecurity is a symptom of extreme economic hardship and lack of economic opportunities .

Tinubu's greed has no limit. All his policies or action are dictated by personal profit. Tinubu crashed a struggling economy with energy policy that benefits his family. Tinubu's nephew holds major contract to import refined petroleum products into Nigeria. Tinubu enacted energy policy that massively increased the price of fuel, so that his family would make stupendous profit.
