The Story Behind Asaba's "Stop Abortion" Junction There is a place in Asaba called Umuda Roundabout, and there lies a statue of a woman with a transparent belly, and when you look through the belly, you will see a baby. And under it, they wrote; “Stop Abortion.” This statue has been there for long,, till date, the junction is known as “Stop Abortion” Junction. People might be asking what really went wrong or what is the story behind this “Stop Abortion inscription” (Some indigenes and non-indigenes like “Mr Charles Awele” gave me their part of the stories with names mentioned, but we won’t be mentioning people’s names in this post) The purpose of the story is to take us back to what led to the “Stop Abortion” mirage. So here is the story: The incident happened very close to the place in Asaba called Ogbeke Square. There was a former U.S. nurse (not from Asaba, but a man from the East) who came back because of the Biafran War. He came to Asaba and opened a chemist shop along Ogbeke Square. The owner of the shop where the U.S. nurse rented was a well-known and prominent Asaba family. So, the man, being a well-trained U.S. nurse and very versatile in his field, at a point decided to venture into abortion fully. He was so good at it that he became very popular in the early 1990s. The man became so popular that you rarely see people with unwanted pregnancies, and any time abortion is being mentioned, his name will be called; him coming from the U.S. was also a pointer. This had been going on for years until the devoted Catholic family that owns the property became uncomfortable with the whole thing, because their name was also being mentioned whenever anyone was explaining the building and the location of the chemist to anyone. Inasmuch as they wanted to evict the man from their property, it was difficult because he was well-connected and had some loyalists who fought against his eviction within the family. Later on, the matriarch of the family (the head and the most respected) decided to frane a story because other means never worked. I forgot to say the man had a military background too, and that was why he was feared. The family oldest woman in the family made up a story of children crying all night in the compound and started making placards of the dangers of abortion, and even putting up one just above his shop. It got a lot of attention; people got talking and finally, it worked. The whole incident made the man move out from there to Cable. But when the man left, it did not end there. The practice had already spread, and other small chemist shops began doing the same thing. Even churches started preaching seriously against abortion as it became more common. Then years later another incident happened. There were stories of a young girl, some said she was a student of St. Brigid’s, others said she was a teenager from Umuda, who didn’t survive it. That incident, along with others before it, made the situation worse and created serious concern in the community. It was at that point that the need for awareness became urgent. So there was a move made by a Catholic priest in St. Joseph against abortion, which led to them putting up a statue. Though the statue wasn’t built close to Ogbeke Square they looked for a central area they would build the statue and inscribe “Stop Abortion” under it so that more eyes would see it. They later concluded to build it in Umuda Roundabout, that was a junction after st bridges junction Asaba, not so far from Ogbeke Square. The statue was eventually constructed around 2010 as a general stand against abortion. And ever since then, the statue has been there, and that junction till today is currently called “Stop Abortion Junction.” Witten by Mmadunagu Chinwendu Gloria (Glendyproperties) Splendidcity

Decision paralysis killed my sale. I had a buyer ready to pay, but I confused them instead. It’s a long read, but the lessons here can save you from making the same mistake.👎🏽 A year ago, I took a client for a site inspection to check out a property. He told me clearly that he wanted a property within the price range of 5to7 million. He came all the way from Port Harcourt to see the properties. I took him to the office, and our driver drove us to some estates. I showed him the first one. Later, I showed him another one, the second estate. He loved the second one so much. The way he and his friend loved that property was something else. At that point, what I was supposed to do was conclude on that particular property they loved. But I didn’t. Instead, I started telling them about other properties within the same price range. I thought showing them more options would help them make a better choice. But that was not the case. What I was actually doing was opening the door to confusion, which I later regretted. I took them to a third property, then a fourth one. They loved those ones too. Now, they were confused about which one to choose. Because of that confusion, they left Asaba without making payment. Their initial plan was to buy two plots and make payment immediately at the office. But because they were confused, they said they wanted to go home and think about it. From “going home to think about it,” the money was used for something else. And that was how I lost that deal. When a prospect is presented with too many choices, instead of feeling empowered, they feel confused and overwhelmed. And a confused buyer almost always chooses not to buy at all. This is called decision paralysis. Instead of saying, “I’m not interested,” the client says: “I’ll think about it.” “Let me ask my spouse.” “I’ll get back to you.” The truth is not that they don’t want to buy. They just don’t know what to choose. This January, something similar happened to a realtor I went to site with. Her clients were ready to buy, but she kept showing them many properties. I called her aside and advised her to focus on the property they loved initially, but she didn’t listeb. In the end, they didn’t buy anything. Later, she told me that she kept calling them, but there was no reasonable response. Sometimes, they even ignored her calls. These were people who came to site ready to pay. As a realtor, before you take a client to site, ask questions about what they want. Two properties are enough to show them. Three is the maximum cause you already know what they want before going to site. Unless they don’t like any of the three, then you can introduce another option. We need to find ways to reduce anything that cause “SALES RESISTANCE” Sometimes, the prospect is not the problem. We, the realtors, are the ones resisting sales without even realizing it. So, for the next 7 days, I’ll be doing a writing series explaining “SALES RESISTANCE” and everything you need to know to avoid it. This is not just for realtors. It’s for anyone in sales. Don’t miss it for anything. Mmadunagu Chinwendu Gloria |
WHY OKPANAM PEOPLE DONT EAT OR SELL RAM. Okpanam land is rich with ancient stories and folklores passed down from generation to generation. Interestingly, many of these traditions are still practiced today, in one form or another. Okpanam is a town located in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. Most people mistake Okpanam for Asaba, but Okpanam is not Asaba but a neighbouring town after Asaba. There is a popular Igbo saying associated with the people of Okpanam: "Okpanam na-aso ebule na-eri atụrụ." It means: Okpanam people don't eat ram (male sheep) but they eat sheep (female sheep). In this dispensation, it has been a funny statement made by non-indigenes because they don't understand why they would eat the female sheep but not the male sheep. It sounds weird because the sheep gave birth to the ram, yet they don't eat ram. What an irony? So this is the story behind it.👇👇 Once upon a time, in the village of Okpanam, it was said that in the olden days the warriors of Idu were attacking, hurting, and killing the people of Okpanam without looking back. They would come, kill, and go scot-free, and the indigenes had no answer to the despicable acts meted on them by the Idu warriors. This had been happening for years until one fateful day they came to kill and plunder as usual, but the natives luckily heard their voices earlier and fled. While they were running, the warriors ran after them using their footprints as a route because through their footprints they could easily locate them. So as they were tracing them through their footprints, they got to a point where they couldn’t trace the natives anymore. All they saw were ram footprints, and it made it difficult for them to pursue them or achieve their plan. They were confused but left with no option but to retreat. When the Okpanam people realized that the Idu warriors had left, they came out of their hiding and at the same time were curious about why the warriors retreated. They decided to examine closely their escape route and realized that their footprints were trampled by the ram’s foot. As a mark of respect and a way of honoring the animal that saved their ancestors, the community decreed and established the tradition of not eating ram meat. This practice is ingrained in their community, and it is a taboo to be caught eating or selling ram meat in their market. To give it a solid backing, they gathered in front of “Ihu Ani” Okpanam and swore an oath that whoever kills and eats ram must die. This was how it became a taboo to eat ram as an Okpanam indigene. Important note: The people of Okpanam do not worship the ram. They simply respect it as an animal that once played a role in protecting their ancestors. Some sources say it is yet uncertain which war or battle made the ram a hero in Okpanam, while other sources believe it was the Idu warriors. I hope you enjoyed reading this piece. You can talk all day, but if you haven’t done it, your words won’t hit. Sometimes I wonder how some people become coaches without ever experiencing the skill they teach. What’s the use of giving long lists of dos and don’ts about something you’ve never successfully done just because you’re outspoken? You might know the techniques, but not the feeling. Not the pressure, disappointment, stress, heat, negotiation, follow-ups, or the joy that comes after closing a deal you almost cried over. Vicky James is a coach because she has mastered what she’s doing. There are other coaches like her, maybe not as popular, but they’ve earned their place because they’ve been through the process. But some of you haven’t sold a single plot since you started marketing, yet you stand on a podium telling new realtors things like: “The you in you is the you in you are.” “Aspire to acquire never retire but refire” My mantra remains: Practice what you learn. There are experiences you’ll go through that will give weight to your words. When you speak, people will feel it because you’ve lived it. Attending every seminar without applying what you learn is not growth. Now you’re teaching people what you heard in seminars, adding big lies, just because you’re outspoken. You can become a public speaker or a motivational coach, no problem. But please, don’t niche down into something you’ve never actually done. Practice what you learn, and teach what you know not just what you know, but what you’ve successfully done. #Mmadunagu Gloria Chinwendu Least I forget Im a realtor, I sell real estate within Nigeria... that is for you not for everyone. |
[that is for you not for everyone. author=Stephenmouka post=137157369] I would have agreed with you that adulthood is expensive last year, because I could not afford just 10k, at the age of 30, But right now, it is money na water, adult is now boring, because I can afford anything I want The word 'Adulthood is expensive' is relative my dear Making money has become easy for me, that I look at people struggling, with all opportunities around, why they are struggling I now understand why our politician are not really showing concern to the masses, but Demselves, They felt as things are easy for them, it is the same with masses[] |
When I tell you adulting is expensive, believe me. Even phone shock fit raise your blood pressure. My colleague’s Samsung fell from her hand last week, and the screen got spoilt. The way she cried, you’d know she wasn’t just crying because of the fall, but because of the expenses waiting for her this period. I honestly felt for her. Fast forward to this evening, after editing some of my work, my phone battery went off cause the ba3 was low, so I decided to charge it. I plugged it in… nothing. I tried again. Still nothing. My heart skipped. I used a Type-C cord with a small iPhone O.T.G adapter, still not charging. At that point, I concluded it was from the phone. I was so annoyed because I’m not just ready for any yeye expenses. I made a few calls, and the amounts I was hearing were definitely not in my budget. I just cut the call and sat down in silence. How person go just dey, expenses go just dey greet am. Wetin be this now? Something told me to go to my neighbour and try her charger. She plugged it in, and it started charging. That was how I found out the problem was from my cable all along. At least now, it’s only a cable I’ll buy, not a phone or maybe repairing anything.. This period, I no need any yeye expenses, makachi. Meanwhile, Gosy estate phase 2 Asaba is still on sale for just 2.5 million , for more information kindly call 08160423539 #gosyestste #asaba #realestate

The pain of missing an opportunity doesn’t heal. It stays with you every time you hear its current worth Do you know what keeps many people broke for so long? They think somethings are meant for the rich alone especially real estate. But the truth is, every rich man you see today has one thing in common. Real estate investment. It could be land, a building, or something tied to property. It’s rare to see a wealthy person without it. Now, let’s talk about us, the ones still working our way up. We might not own houses yet, but we don’t live under bridges either. We live somewhere, and yes, we pay to stay there. Meaning, you’re already spending on real estate, just that it’s not your own. You may not be ready to build now, and that’s fine. But you can buy land. Land comes in different prices and sizes, start from your level. Because the Lekki you see today was once bush, very affordable, nothing special. But those who took the bold step back then are smiling today. So, this is your reminder. This is a wake up call to you and i , to those in diaspora, civil servants, salary earners , business men/ women , entrepreneurs etc Get the one you can afford cormfortably and pay for it. Real estate isn’t gender based, it’s not age based, it’s for everyone. If you’re not thinking about it yet, maybe it’s time you should. I hope this helps. It’s funny how small things we see every day can teach big lessons. When I was in Akure, I noticed something interesting. The people selling Agbo (local medicine) also sell peppered meat, and that meat is always soft and very tasty 😋 Unlike the Agbo sellers around here, most of them don’t sell meat. Yes, their medicine has value, it cures some sickness. But with the meat, the bitter taste of the Agbo goes off completely. She’s not just selling bitter medicine to cure, she’s also selling meat to help your taste buds. And guess what? Some people even end up spending more money on the meat than on the Agbo itself. Now the question is, can this be called strategy or value? Let’s break it down 👇🏽 Her product is Agbo (herbal medicine). Her value is that it cures sickness and strengthens the body. Her strategy is using meat to attract more buyers and make the experience enjoyable. As for me, I sell real estate. The value I offer is peace of mind, clarity, passive/ active wealth building . I help people understand what they’re buying and guide them to make safe, smart property decisions. And one of the strategies that has been working for me is storytelling, educational videos, and relatable content. That woman in Akure reminded me that it’s not enough to have a good product. You need something extra that makes people enjoy the experience. That’s how value meets strategy and that’s how business grows. So my question is? What value does your product offer? And how well do you communicate it? Think about it. #mmadunaguchinwendu #GlendyProperties #realestate #value #08160423539 |

Without discomfort, there’s no growth. Think about this: Muscles only grow when they’re stretched and strained during exercise. A seed must break underground in darkness before it sprouts. Late nights of study, failed exams, and even repeating courses may feel frustrating but they sharpen knowledge and discipline. Facing rejection from clients, struggling with cash flow, or starting from scratch is uncomfortable but that’s how great businesses are built. Investing in land today (₦1.5M, Gosy Estate) might feel uncomfortable but you’re laying the foundation for generational wealth. Discomfort is not punishment. It’s not suffering. It’s the training ground for transformation. #Mmadunaguchinwendugloria #glendyproperies

"Maybe that money is not my money or maybe that one is not my customer, my customer will come" Taaaaaaaaaaa it's is a defeatist statement" If you make mistake that eventually made a customer change their mind to patronize someone else, own the mistake and keep quiet; next time you desist from making such mistake. If a client has been in your shop waiting for you but you showed up late, accept that your lateness caused it, stop saying nonsense. If your bad mouth scare a customer, kwete, accept it.if you had talked normal he/ she will buy. If you miss an opportunity, evaluate what went wrong, own up to it and focus on improvement. Own your mistakes, learn from them, and do better next time. Growth starts with accountability. #GloryChinwendu #Glendyproperties

If 4 million can make you disconnect your account or stop picking calls as a vendor, just know you’re not building a brand. You’re simply an “experimacious ekperima.” I believe my brand is worth more than billions; Hello?😎😎. I haven’t seen it physically yet, I’ve pictured it in my mind kemgbeeeeeee. That 4 million will finish and after that, what next? Building a brand isn’t easy. Sometimes, property allocation dates get shifted, and the pressure is overwhelming. There are days I feel like digging a hole to hide, but the last thing I will do is block or ignore my clients. Yes, I get tired of the complaints. Yes, I sometimes wish I could fast-forward time to make things easier. But I’m not going anywhere. If you look at me, I’ll look at you right back. If you need an explanation, I’ll dedicate time to break it down. If an apology is required, I’ll kneel and apologize. Whatever it takes, I will keep showing up. Those with a deriiiii mindset or an ekuke mindset should pause, reflect, and reevaluate their intentions. Building a brand requires integrity, resilience, and a genuine desire to serve others. If your mindset isn’t aligned with these principles, you should focus on self-improvement, adopt a positive attitude, and develop the discipline to contribute meaningfully.

There is a mountain in ondo state located at Ikare Akoko, opposite NySC orientation camp; The mountain is called "olókè méjì tako tabo."which means Man and Woman. The people of ikare believe that the mountain is a husband and a wife. When you get there, there is a male side of the mountain and the female side of it. The mountain is also known as "Moses Orimolade mountain". Moses Orimolade according to research is the head of Cherubim and Seraphim, When he was alive he always go there to pray and I was told that he performed a lot of healing miracles before he died. During the civil war, it was said that the people of Ikare-Akoko always go there to hide;while the snow of the mountain covers them from their enemies. When you get to the mountain, you will see a stair that will enable you climb, if you are a woman in your menstrual cycle, you are not allowed to climb, A person putting on red dress or anything red is also not allowed to climb to avoid getting into danger. When you get to the mountain top, it looks like a plain land where people do their normal daily activities such as farming, praying and other things. . Cherubim and seraphim also built a big church there; where they attend every Saturday's and other day's they have programs. on the mountain, there is a large Well that never runs dry, year to year the well is filled with water, be it dry or raining season. the name of the water is called "Imiato" The female parts of the mountain has its own water "Isungiga" while the male has its own which is known as the "Olimake Water". Most of our reputable men and women of God goes there to pray because it was said to be a place where all prayers are answered.. one of the men that told me about the mountain said that anytime he wants God to do something for him ,he goes there to pray. He said that people like pastor TB.Jousha, Mrs Esther Ajayi, Mama soloke from London comes there to pray . He also pointed that the tree TB Joshua normally sit to pray before he died has dried but has not fallen. Minister Esther Ajayi conduct crusades and revival at the mountain, people from far and near ,London and all part of the world comes there to pray.. Every October 9th - 18th of every year people come to the mountain, with cars helicopters to jointly pray. During the prayers, the male goes to the male side or face the male side of the mountain to pray while the female do the same. It was also said that any man or woman who is barren, looking for job, husband or any problem that gives them sleepless nights; get all the answers and solution they want when they pray at the mountain. This is the little information I could get about the mountain. I hope you enjoyed it ? #GloryChinwendu (Glendy properties) 08160423539

If you want to buy an individual land and the seller did not show you a deed or document to validate that he is the owner please run for your life. Some people buy land without proper documentation because of trust. " He is my cousin" " His mother is older than mine" " I know him far back" these are the excuses they cling to even after severe warning. Troublesome people sometimes come to look for troubles on lands that are genuine with papers; just imagine what they will do if the land has no papers at all. The deed of most fake lands are not detailed because there are things you can't forge, if the deed is very Scanty that should be a concern. Do not buy lands that shares boundary between two communities,When duspute starts, I'm sure you don't want to be part of it. If the land is closer to a government land or property, try and leave there, Government might try to expand tomorrow and you know what it means. Don't risk it. The last people you would want to have issues with is government and the community. Take Survey and Due deligence serious, Go to ministry of lands and Chart the property, dash some community people money and ask them vital questions especially for those buying individual property. You must call surveyor to ascertain the volume of the land and also meet the owners of the lands that are closer to yours to be sure of where yours stops to avoid problem. Remember, Surveying and proper verifications are your insurance against future regret. Happy and safe land buying. #Glendyproperties #GloryChinwendu #SecureYourPlot #RealEstateOpportunity 08160423539 |
