BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Alcantraz005 has deactivated his moniker in anger. I think it has to do with the bullying he received from his own Yoruba brothers here on this thread.

Some people just hate the truth and fight it with vehemence.

Is it because he opened a thread about Yoruba xtians and mozlems? Maybe one group is out to finish him because of what he said?

This politics section is where warriors fight for the pride of their People. No fcuks given. No love lost between the two groups. But this guy tries to please ibhoes as if they have conscience when denting the image of the Yorubas. He has been made to believe that Yoruba hate ibhoes, that we undermine their efforts, that we are the cause of all their problems. Ibhoes are using reverse psychology and we are too smart for that shit. They project their secret mind on others trying to make them guilty but we don't care.

When you look at Nigeria, you will see that Yoruba has been standing alone fighting their own battle. We were in opposition for almost forty years and single handedly fought the military to restore democracy even when ibhoes were matching in their millions for abacha. We snuffed the life out of abacha and frustrated the abokiis to hand over power to us on a platter.

Our mandate was truncated with the help of ibhoes in 1993 and we fought for it. We never blamed them for it. We don't blame others, we fight for our right.

The ibhoes ran away from Lagos when a war was about to brake out in 1993 and wished we perished, yet we navigated our ship on our own. Nnamdi kanu wanted our help but instead of seeking alliance, he started insulting us hoping it would spur us to fight but we are too smart for that childish antics.

We stay in our own land. We have distanced ourselves enough from them so we won't succumb to emotional blackmail.
Which Yoruba opposition for 40 years?

Is MKO that was financing coups and dining with Abacha and Babangida also in opposition too? The plan was for the military to hand over to their chosen civilian ally from your region who has been working together with them to clean the national treasury. The generals had other ideas so they decided to slam Abiola in prison. Igbos has nothing to do with that. I just hate lies.

Fight who for secession? You only fight when you admit that one party is stronger than you. We are partners in Nigeria and we sit on a round table to discuss not fight. We want restructuring and we are in dialogue with others about it. It is democracy. You lobby people to see your point of view, not insult them.

Maybe you are deaf or blind to the moves being made by Yoruba elders about restructuring.

And nothing is magical, it takes time. We have been talking restructuring before this government. We are not ibhoes that forgot Biafra each time they have a taste of the national cake.

No more Biafra now since you've been promised VP by Atiku.
I would have loved to take you on a long and winding history of how your people has done the exact opposite of what you just wrote, but maybe on another day, at another topic so we don't derail this one.

Are you in support of everyone moving into every corner of Nigeria to live and work peacefully without any people trying to control legal business of other in fear of being dominated?

Nigeria is not one and can never be one. The Yorubas have never for once pretended to be one with anyone in Nigeria hence, we fought for the inclusion of secession clause in the Constitution. And spare me the bullshit of fighting you to stay in Nigeria as that's being clever by half. We stayed out of the fight between you and abokiis until you passed your boundaries.

We will see to the restructuring of Nigeria and have total control over our land. So we don't see you or abokiis as part of us no matter glhow long you stay in our land.
Now, this is confusing.

You all knew Nigeria can never be one and still you have not lifted a finger since after the civil war to fight for secession? Osanobua!

And you lots mischievously forgot everything about restructuring since Bubu made your son the VP? grin

Pardon the Igbos for thinking Nigeria should be one hence we are investing all over the nation. But it's not your money to lose. My advice is that you act normal and not start urging anyone to stop moving in and living in any part of Nigeria till the almighty Yorubas decide to restructure Nigeria or secede. Till then, we want your silence. grin

Guy I think you should take a time out of nairaland because you are bringing shame to the great Yoruba race. You are feeble minded and easily swayed by ibhoe propaganda. Ibhoes are controlling your mind. They make you feel guilty. If this politics section is too hot for you, better get out of the kitchen. No form of emotion is allowed in politics and you bend to ibhoes emotional blackmail. The Yorubas owe ibhoe nothing as we don't expect anything from them either.

You have opened numerous idiotic threads in the past, even hating your own people by dividing us into Christian's and Muslims.

So make use of my advice. Ereolamide is right.
I don't think he is a bad guy, only that he has some deep seated resentment about Igbos which he needs to get over. His attitude has managed to bring out the worst in some of us too, even for decent Igbos who are trying to calm things down gets abused by him as he thinks this is a way to defend the Yoruba race. Igbos and Yorubas still do business and remain allies in many fields.

We have adviced them to limit their migration to our land for their own good but they have refused to listen, so what can we do at this point?

From their responses, it is clear that they are not ashamed of the disgrace that their migration causes their tribe. It would be best at this juncture to leave them alone to do what the like but check them when they have crossed the line.

Yorubas would never stop doing what we can do nip them in the bud. Let them yarn all they like

Alcatraz005:
It is not the migration per se but the volume and how you relate with the local population of where you migrate to. And some of us are against the mass migration because we actually want the best for igbos. Everything is not about hate. How would igboland develop when her sons and daughters only come home every Christmas? Igbos’ best minds should stay in and develop the east. There has to be that love for the homeland which is lacking in igbos. I might be wrong but this is how I see it.
From what you just posted, you don't seem to have a problem with Igbos migrating to anywhere but your main concern is the "volume" of migration as you put it. Is there any Nigerian law stating the number of people per tribe that can migrate either out of their homes or onto any part of the country?

Is there any laws on how many persons can stay behind and develop their home states?

If there is no such law, why the hate and bad language?

Let me speak on behalf of the Yorubas, I know this winding essay is directed at Yorubas, the mention of other tribes is attempt to cover your ill thought propositions.

My question to you is, why is that Igbos are the only tribe facing this so-called attacks from Yorubas and Hausas? I haven't heard any other tribes in Nigeria under attacks by Yorubas and Hausas on nairaland and Nigeria respectively.

Didn't you jolly friends and attaché by force brothers in the South South declare your properties abandoned after the civil war?

Igbos are the one crying, no wonder your uncles in the north( northern Igbos)were running amok in the North when mallams gave you guys a quit notice.
Kindly reread the 4th paragraph. Stop the hate.

PoliticsPolitics of Migration And Settlement in Nigeria's regions by Sprumbabafather(op):
Nigeria is a good country, peopled by hard working citizens who live and work in the country to provide goods that service the needs of the populace. Yet the country is a complex Web of ethnic nationalities with varying degrees of bonds among the different tribes. These ethnic nationalities has been living and working together since the days of the colonialists. But there seems to be some unresolved issues which is tearing at the seams of national unity from our migratory patterns.

In the past, Nigerians freely moved within states and did their business in peace, there are reports of generations of Yoruba Nigerians living and working peacefully in Plateau state, there has never been any reported violence against them. There are also reports of early settlements of the Fulani in Enugu state, especially in the Nsukka areas. The Igbos scattered all over the country and beyond even before the independence of Nigeria. There were no problems anywhere, till around the 1950 when some attacks were reported against the Igbos in Kano.

After the civil war, the Igbos who lost the war spread out once again and seemed to have recovered from the set back of the war and made some important inroads into various parts of this country.

Problems started when the Igbos seemed to start making arrangements to stay permanently in areas they bought land and did business, so much was the area the Igbos controlled that it is starting to look like some people are no longer content with the way things are going. In stark comparison, no other tribe in this country are making any serious plans of expansion beyond their known areas. No tribe seems to be confident in the survival of Nigeria to the extent of staking their capital in another region.

There are millions of northern people doing good business in the west, South south and the south east without owning a single shop anywhere. There are millions of south west people doing business in the south south, south east and establishing churches and prayer houses and they don't own a single land there despite how much they make.

While I think the settlement pattern of the Igbos is problematic, owing to past history of Igbo properties seized during the war, but instead of the Igbos crying about this problem, it's mostly people from the south west who cry the most about this. And I want to ask WHY?

Why is the south west afraid of Igbos staying in their region and doing business legally? I must be missing something here. The way the south west is feeling about this, making several provocative statements, even forcefully returning Igbos back to Onitsha under the Fashola administration says a lot. The Oba of Lagos is clearly unsettled about this, as well as every other person. Yoruba people on Nairaland are also angry. WHY?

I am one of those who will support a disintegration of Nigeria because I think the Igbos stand a much better chance of growth and development in a nation for only Igbos, the Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani also has a strong chance of greatness in their own country, but if we must be in the same country, there must be freedom and equity. The debate about where one comes from should never arise. Niger deltans should move into the north and feel welcome. Yoruba should come and buy lands and live in Owerri without issues, Housas should move down to Lagos while Igbos move to Benin and feel at home.

Let the Igbos think home, build up Igboland as they have been doing, I cannot complain in the last 20 years, we are trying. But we must not run from anyone in any region in Nigeria. Move to areas you can make money and earn your honest living while paying your taxes. But invest your profits in the South East to create more jobs for your people.

Let the rest of the country also do their own business, buy lands everywhere if you want integration and a strong and United Nigeria. Learn to tolerate others.

Long live Nigeria.
(And if it fails,)
Then, LONG LIVE BIAFRA.
