Hello nairalanders I created a similar thread last year here for those that might be interested in learning shoes, sandals, belts and palm slippers making considering the current state of unemployment in the country. Shoe making is very lucrative if you give it your time and attention because people can only come to you if your job is good and neat. I was a merchant for dealdey.com but I had to stop since my own customers were complaining of my in ability to meet up to their own demands. I will drop the link to the old thread I created and some new images of my current jobs

One white guy, trying to experiment how people trust LinkedIn information, changed his LinkedIn profile position to “CEO, Shell“, for 24 hours and what happened next is simply mind blowing. The lesson I learned from the guy’s article is it isn’t only in Nigeria that we have gullible followers who fall for sarcasm or don’t check background before believing a story. A few weeks ago I changed my role to CEO of one of the world’s largest enterprise. With this I wanted to test my assumption that people would critically assess the authenticity of information this social network. I was curious to see the effect. I noticed that there is a huge trust in the accuracy of LinkedIn profiles. When you compare LinkedIn to twitter, Facebook or Instagram you see that people tend to post serious and correct information on LinkedIn. On twitter I can be “CyberGoofbal83” and post all kinds of facts and lies just to amuse my followers. On Facebook we tend to be partly serious and humorous. I changed my Job title and employer overnight from “Manager Development of AMIS” to “CEO of Shell”. The following things happened: I received almost 400 likes and 80 customized comments.I got more than 500 emails with a personal message.10 of my closest co-workers called within 2 hours.I got almost 25 text messages.I spontaneously received 10 CV’s and requests for a job at my new company.2 offshore companies sent me an email to get an appointment as soon as possible. What have I learned? There is a huge difference in trust on the accuracy of the content between different social networks. Even though the validation of new content is done with the same accuracy the LinkedIn network offers a higher implicit trust in the validity of the content compared to other networks. Most people trust what they read on LinkedIn. Even though it is in conflict with their gut feeling; “when it is on LinkedIn, it must be true.” Be critical of what you read on the Internet (including LinkedIn) I realized that there can be a huge difference between what someone can write down and the actual achievements of a person. What you read on LinkedIn could be the result of window dressing or just a plain lie. Performing a background check when hiring a new candidate is always a good idea. A man has been arrested by Italian police investigating the killing of a Nigerian immigrant which the government has condemned as a racist attack. Police say a row broke out at Fermo, a town on Italy's east coast, when racist abuse was hurled at the partner of Emmanuel Chidi Namdi, 36. The violence escalated when a traffic pole was pulled from the ground. The victim later died in hospital. A local man described as a well-known "ultra" football fan is being held. Amedeo Mancini, 35, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of racially aggravated manslaughter. His lawyer said he "did not mean to kill" and that he had punched the Nigerian in self defence. Fleeing Boko Haram Emmanuel Chidi fled Nigeria with his partner Chinyery, 24, after their families came under attack from jihadist group Boko Haram. Their families were killed in an attack on a Nigerian church in 2015, Italian media reported. The prime minister tweeted that the government was against racism and hatred As the couple made their way across the Mediterranean, their baby died. They finally arrived in Fermo last November and were taken in by a local Christian charity. They had a wedding ceremony in January, conducted by local priest Father Vinicio Albanesi, which was unofficial because they had lost their documents, Rai TV reported. What happened on Tuesday evening is unclear. However, it is thought that the attacker subjected Chinyery to racist chanting and then grabbed her. At that point the traffic pole was pulled out of the ground as Emmanuel Chidi and his attacker came to blows. He was taken to hospital in a coma but never recovered. Reform Minister Maria Elena Boschi said Emmanuel's wife Chinyery had "the embrace of all Italy. We must remain human" Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was among many across Italy who took to social media to express disgust at the killing, using the hashtag Emmanuel. " The government today is in Fermo with Don Vinicio and the local institutions in memory of Emmanuel. Against hate, racism and violence," he wrote. Visiting the town, Interior Minister Angelino Alfano told reporters on Thursday that the seed of racism had to be stopped before it could bear fruit. "The heart of Italy isn't represented by those who carried out this murder." He also announced that Emmanuel Chidi's partner Chinyery had been granted refugee status. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36733575

WATFORD FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Isaac Success for a club record transfer fee. The highly-rated forward has agreed a five-year contract at Vicarage Road and becomes the Hornets' third new signing ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, following Jerome Sinclair and Christian Kabasele. The 20-year-old, who can play in a central or wide attacking role, moves from Spanish outfit Granada, having attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs after scoring six goals in 30 La Liga appearances last season. His impressive performances during the 2015/16 campaign also earned Success the club’s Player of the Year award. A Nigerian Under-17 and Under-20 international, Success arrived at Granada in 2014 and went on to play 56 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals. http://mobile.watfordfc.com/news/article/2016-17/isaac-success-watford-fc-granada-premier-league-3160681.aspx

Argentina and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi retired from international duty after missing in a penalty shootout as Chile won the Copa America final. "For me the national team is over. I've done all I can, it hurts not to be a champion," the 29-year-old said. With Barcelona, Messi has won eight La Liga titles and four Champions League. But his only major international honour is 2008 Olympic gold, with Argentina now having lost three major finals in three years. Argentina were beaten 1-0 in the 2014 World Cup final by Germany before two Copa America final defeats by Chile on penalties. Messi was also on the losing side against Brazil in the 2007 Copa America final. "It's been four finals, it's not meant for me. I tried. It was the thing I wanted the most, but I couldn't get it, so I think it's over," he said. After Sunday's match finished 0-0 in 120 minutes, Chile won 4-2 on penalties. Messi's miss was Argentina's first attempt in the shootout and it ballooned over the bar after Sergio Romero had denied Chile's Arturo Vidal. Lucas Biglia also missed from 12 yards, with Chilean substitute Francisco Silva scoring the decisive spot-kick in the final in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Messi had scored five times at the tournament, including a superb free-kick in the semi-final to become his country's record scorer with 55 goals. For Barca he has scored 453 times in 531 games, including a La Liga record 312 goals.

6. Find Dinner Recipes The latest updates to Facebook Search made it easier to find many things, but recipe searching especially got a boost. Search for a meal, or specify by category (smoothies, for example), and you’ll see relevant recent posts from friends, as well as popular articles and top posts from restaurants and media. |
5. Pay For Drinks Once you’ve entered your debit card (go to your phone’s Settings and then Facebook todo so), you can send payments and request money from friends through Messenger. There isn’t much that differentiates payments within Messenger from those on Venmo, but if you made drink plans on Messenger, it can be an easy way to keep the conversation (and its ensuing tab) in oneplace. |
4.Shoot Hoops arning: This is insanely addictive. If you send a basketball emoji to a friend in Messenger, click on the basketball. You have now entered your own game (free throws only) of hoops. The score goes back to zero each time you miss, but you get a limitless number of tries. So you could actually play forever, and ever, and ever.

3.Save Articles Or Posts For Later Unless you’re scrolling through Facebook onthe sofa, you probably don’t have time to read all the articles that your friends have posted. That’s where its handy bookmarkingfeature comes in. Click the downward arrow next to a post and tap, “Save link.” You can read your saved links later by going to the “Saved” tab on your “Favorites” bar (in the app, you can access the “Saved” tab by first tapping the “More” button in the bottom right).
|
2.Play Chess Introduce some competitive fun to your messages by breaking out the chess board. Type @fbchess in a thread on Messenger, and a chess board will show up on screen, designating who is black and who is white. It’s not as lifelike as a Harry Potter game of Wizard’s Chess, but it’ll do.

1. He Has A Star On The Walk Of Fame Ali was a star in every sense of the word, and thus it only makes sense that Ali received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Unlike others, however, Ali’s star is mounted on a wall rather than placed on the ground. This is because Ali did not want to feel disrespected by having his name walked on by others. Ali earned that right because of all that he gave to the world during his many years of service outside of the ring, and it is not a stretch to suggest that no other athlete will ever be as beloved as was Ali. http://www.therichest.com/sports/boxing-sports/top-10-facts-you-might-not-know-about-muhammad-ali/

2. Ali Was A singer “I am the greatest!” It was the claim that Ali made time and time again during and after his boxing career. Those words happen to be the title of a spoken word LP that Ali recorded in 1963. Ali also recorded a version of the song “Stand By Me” that served as a B-side. While Ali’s voice was far from terrible, it was also for the best that he did not quit his day job and that he continued to fight after the album was released. Ali was the greatest as a fighter and as a sports entertainer even if he was not the greatest singer in the world during his younger years.

3. Ali vs Inoki Started As A Joke The “fight” involving Muhammad Ali and wrestler Antonio Inoki was supposed to be a gimmick, a “worked” match in which neither man did any real damage. Inoki did not see this as a joke, however, as he took the fight seriously. The bout was not only terrible. It is one that left Ali suffering from an injured leg. While we cannot know for sure, it could be believed that the match with Inoki cost Ali at least a couple of years of his boxing career. Ali ultimately overstayed his welcome and fought long after he should have retired.
