Of course Igbo presence in Lagos is lawful. They are Nigerians and allowed to live in any State of Nigeria. The bone of contention is their sense of entitlement wherever they go.

Why use crime as the only way to escape poverty?

A poor person doesn't have to do all these things you mentioned to escape poverty. It will be hard, thats true, but crime is harder and costlier.
