Chief Olisa Metuh: Building Structure Beyond Headlines The grand endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in Ebonyi State was more than a political rally; it was a demonstration of the growing coalition being assembled ahead of 2027. Hosted by the Ebonyi State Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the event brought together party leaders, stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, and supporters who gathered to reaffirm support for President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. While many eyes were naturally drawn to the speeches and endorsements, political observers could not ignore the presence of Chief Olisa Metuh, the Director of Organisation and Mobilisation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA). Arriving in his characteristic style and composure, Chief Metuh represented a critical component of the President's growing support structure: organization, coordination, and grassroots mobilization. As the Renewed Hope Ambassadors continue expanding their structures across the country and intensifying grassroots engagement, leaders like Chief Olisa Metuh remain central to the task of transforming political support into an effective national movement. *Chief Olisa Metuh and the Politics of Maturity* One of the most profound moments at the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Mobilisation Retreat came from a simple but powerful statement by Chief Olisa Metuh. Speaking during discussions on political engagement and national cohesion, he expressed discomfort with the manner in which some people attack former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party leader, Peter Obi. To drive home his point, he referenced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, asking participants to reflect on how often prominent sons and daughters of Adamawa publicly lead attacks against Atiku despite political differences. In today's Nigeria, politics has become so polarized that disagreement is often mistaken for hatred. Supporters feel compelled to demonize opponents, while critics believe every achievement must be dismissed. Chief Olisa Metuh's intervention offered a different perspective. A leader secure in his convictions does not need to destroy others to promote his own cause. Politics is ultimately about people, relationships, and the long game. Political parties may differ. Ideologies may clash. But leadership is measured by the ability to unite people long after the votes have been counted. His remarks reflected a quality increasingly rare in modern politics, the ability to separate political competition from personal hostility. That is what distinguishes statesmen from mere politicians. Whether one supports APC, NDC , APGA, PDP, or any other political platform, political competition should never require us to lose our sense of brotherhood, especially among people who share the same roots and aspirations. Chief Olisa Metuh has once again demonstrated why many regard him as a bridge-builder and a voice of reason. Muoma Obinna Nnewi North.

*Chief Olisa Metuh Leads Renewed Hope Ambassadors' National Mobilisation Retreat as APC Intensifies 2027 Strategy* The Director of Organisation and Mobilisation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Chief Olisa Metuh, played a central role as the organisation convened its National Mobilisation Retreat in Abuja, bringing together state coordinators, zonal directors, and key stakeholders from across the country to strategise ahead of the 2027 general elections. The retreat, themed "Building a Unified National Mobilisation Architecture," attracted an impressive array of political leaders and government officials, underscoring the growing momentum behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. Among those in attendance were the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma; Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo; Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji; Governor of Kaduna State and RHA Deputy Director-General, Senator Uba Sani; APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda; former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari; former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim; Senator Adebayo Adayeye; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; and several other APC leaders and stakeholders. As Director of Organisation and Mobilisation, Chief Olisa Metuh coordinated discussions focused on strengthening the RHA's grassroots mobilisation framework and deepening engagement across all levels of the party structure. In his remarks, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim emphasized the importance of political stability, election management, and the need for continuity in governance. Renowned political communication expert, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, challenged participants to rethink political communication strategies, stressing the importance of reaching citizens through every available medium, redefining organisational targets, and ensuring opponents remain on the defensive through effective messaging. Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa highlighted the need for robust operational structures, noting that the 2027 elections would largely be decided at the grassroots level. He urged participants to actively communicate the achievements of the Federal Government, particularly in healthcare and increased allocations to states. Delivering the keynote address, Governor Hope Uzodimma unveiled an ambitious mobilisation architecture designed to reach all 176,846 polling units nationwide. According to him, the RHA plans to deploy 25 canvassers per polling unit, creating a mobilisation force of over 4.4 million supporters nationwide. He stressed that the organisation's mission is to bridge the gap between government policies and the people by effectively communicating the achievements of the Tinubu administration, countering misinformation, and promoting national development initiatives. The first day was concluded with a renewed commitment by Chief Olisa Metuh and the national leadership of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to strengthen grassroots structures, unify messaging, and build a formidable mobilisation network capable of delivering victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in 2027. Chief Olisa Metuh: Still in the Arena When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently described Chief Olisa Metuh as a "significant voice of reason at a time of cacophony," it was not an ordinary routine gesture of goodwill. It was a recognition of relevance. In a political environment often dominated by noise, division, and fleeting loyalties, voices that consistently advocate dialogue, bridge-building, and national cohesion have become increasingly rare. Chief Olisa Metuh remains one of such voices. In his message, President Tinubu commended Metuh's peace-building efforts, humanitarian interventions, and commitment to bridging partisan and ethnic divides. Those familiar with his public engagements over the years would find this assessment unsurprising. Theodore Roosevelt's famous "Man in the Arena" speech offers a fitting lens through which to view Chief Metuh's journey: «"The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena..."» Public life is not for the faint-hearted. It comes with scrutiny, criticism, setbacks, and sacrifice. Yet, the true measure of leadership is not found in avoiding the arena but in remaining relevant despite its challenges. Chief Metuh's enduring strength lies in his ability to maintain relationships across political, ethnic, and ideological divides. While many build walls, he has consistently chosen to build bridges. Beyond politics, his humanitarian interventions have impacted numerous lives through educational support, healthcare assistance, youth empowerment programmes, and economic opportunities for the less privileged. His approach has always reflected a simple philosophy: leadership must ultimately improve lives. Perhaps what stands out most is his commitment to connecting people to opportunities. At a time when many leaders focus on personal advancement, Chief Metuh has remained invested in helping others find their footing within the larger national framework. This is why President Tinubu's commendation resonates beyond partisan politics. It is an acknowledgement that certain values-service, compassion, inclusion, and nation-building remain essential regardless of political affiliation. As Nigeria continues its search for stronger institutions and more unifying leadership, individuals who can bring people together rather than pull them apart will always remain relevant. Indeed, Chief Olisa Metuh's story has proven resilience, bridge-building, and the enduring value of remaining in the arena when many others have chosen the comfort of the sidelines. The Herd by Daniel Etim Effiong hit Netflix and immediately stirred the kind of noise Nollywood rarely gets, praise on one side, outrage on the other. Critics called it gripping, raw, and painfully realistic, the kind of film that doesn’t feel like fiction but a reflection of the tragic stories we read daily. Some even said it is "Nigeria’s insecurity problem turned into cinema." Others felt it crossed uncomfortable boundaries, fearing it reinforced a stereotype that has already brought enough tension. Watching the film, I understood both sides, because the story bites deep. From the opening scenes, you feel the weight of a country struggling to breathe. The movie doesn't waste your time; it walks you straight into chaos. The film traps you in a world where fear is currency and survival is negotiation. What stood out to me was even kidnappers have their own twisted honour code. Yakubu owns his scenes. The guy is a menace and a masterpiece at the same time. But the character that quietly tore my heart the most was Habiba. She is the perfect metaphor for survival in a broken system. Watching her learn to submit completely to the authority that controlled her fate, even if it meant betraying her own husband, was painful. You don’t blame her, yet you can't completely absolve her. In her eyes, you see every Nigerian who has ever had to choose safety over truth. Critics may argue about representation, and their concerns are valid. At the same time, many Nigerians applaud the film for telling the uncomfortable truth, because whether we like it or not, the insecurity is real, the trauma is real, and every Nigerian knows a version of this story. This is why Kate Henshaw boldly defended it online, saying the movie is "raw truth, no sugarcoating." Despite the controversy, despite the pain, one thing is clear: the director, the cast, and crew have created something unforgettable. - Muoma Obinna. Link https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1GtpV3H7Be/
