Am new here, but going through the recent comment about d guy with 24M, its happen like dt at times, like my own for example, my monthly is more that 860k in Naira equiv. and all house household income with wife is more than 1.4m monthly,
I applied with my wife and kid to go and give birth and enjoy summer vacation.
The VO said she is not convinced that we would return back since we have not traveled together as family in 2 years,
I am still laughing till now, because is sounds funny to me, I cant imagine leaving my job and also my wife leaving hers and go start somewhere that you know is hard to make a living there.

So at time, the V.O's know what they always based their decision on. But my own case is still funny, each time I remember I always laff
Lol, perhaps they feel you'd quit your very comfortable life here and run to the US because they have tall buildings.
Your case might be because of your pregnant wife tho. Just saying, i dont know much about these things. Perhaps my ignorance lead to my denial.

I'm not trying to side anyone but from what I smell from @visapayless comments is pure jealousy. I may be wrong though but it looks like he can't just accept the fact that a 27 year old is more successful than him. having 24mill in your bank acc no be moi moi.
stboff why not travel with your son if you think the countries Chloe mentioned are too romantic for a single person to visit
Thanks for the advice, he is just 3 and i am sure he will not remember the trip by the time he turns 4.
I will do such a thing when i know his memory can hold it. Money spent on Holidays are worth every penny because of the memories they create. Worthless if you'd forget the very next day.

Nne I disagree o! Remember VOs are human and personal opinions play a large role in the determination. IMO a guy that gets a girl pregnant and fails to marry her is not a dependable guy so nothing stops him from absconding in the US. Everything just worked together against him
Hehehe, funny. As a Nigerian yes you make sense.
BUT, for an American it means nothing. She herself might even be a single mom. She could even be a lesbian. Those people careless what we hold to high esteem. How many times have you seen them asking for your religion ? those kind of stuff don't matter to them.
If that was at all a factor. Perhaps she would have asked what happened.(Did you lost your spouse, divorced? or like you said got a girl pregnant and failed to marry her). She would have asked those questions if it mattered.
Also, just to mention i am a very proud father and speak little of the things you know nothing about. I love my son too much i wish i was him. Not everyone fancies marriage. Not everyone is religious too. People have choices and they should always be free to make them without being judged.

Dude, you don't have a job. you arrange fake documents for people to travel. You scam embassies. You call this a decent earning ?

Your life is a lie cos that's the only way you know to feed. You are possibly on this thread to hustle clients so you can arrange fake documents for them.
No wonder you find it hard to believe that someone can actually be saying the truth with documents and statements. No wonder you mentioned that olawale place.
You accuse a Petroleum Engineer of doing civil work(building). Am just wondering what you studied now that you are a VISA Racketeer. ISD maybe? hahahahaaaa sucker! grin grin grin

You just like to travel that's all. That doesn't really add any value to you. It's just nothing men.

Ask yourself why you believe i will be lying to you. It's not like you know me or anything. This ID stboff is one i will soon discontinue and signon with my regular NL id. So what then do i gain by lying to you ?

his having a son and being 27 years don't count, the only red flag is first his business registration that he refused to do and also his car importation and maybe he needs to tone down his over confidence a little bit.
Funny they didn't ask anything about business registration. They didn't at all ask anything about my business address or stuff.
I took a whole lot of documents to prove my work and they didn't even bother to ask. Am guessing they already flagged the application before the interview.

Chloe, if you know this VisaPayless person can you PLEASE help me tell him to leave me alone?
This guy has a serious problem with my age and the figure i mentioned in my account balance.

aahhhaaaa Lmao truth is you just made me remember that those bank guys arrange account statement for people my friend did on of 24 million at gtbank when I see am I just dey laugh, you need to see what they did for her, yeye rubbish put together, it was meant to be from Nov 2014 to april 2015 and I was seeing transactions from 2012 and 2013.
One would think they have a way of confirming it.
If i was told having a high balance is a problem i would have gone with a smaller account statement that i use for shopping(ATM) and those other petty things.
What i don't understand however is the reason anyone will think i faked my account statement. If i did, why will i hide it from NLanders ? i would have atleast asked the house for advice. I am also not stupid to fake account balance and put such a figure. You people must think i live in a cave.

Some persons talk of maturity as though it is something to do with age. How do you explain the dude that said "wait 5 years until you become 32 and married".....
I wish that you all drop my subject and move on with your preparations. I wanna hear some good news soon. I wish someone can break the odds (Young, Single, Self Employed). well, maybe everyone should really avoid that CAR IMPORTATION thing. Am still wondering why it is an automatic refusal thing tho. Is is due to the new automotive policies or what ?

A petroleum Engineer.
Got some good family connects, trained with an uncle who is a civil Engineer, builds houses.
Started building for people. When there is property to sell, i bring in buyers and receive cuts from both ends.
I build, polish and resell at a huge profit margin.
Not everybody shares the same story as you.
Where tha phuck is Oluwole ?

I KNEW QUOTING FIGURES will invite some bad blood, which is why i gave reasons for this previously. Atleast everybody including yourself gets the real picture. Other's post their transcripts and leave out the figures. You will never know if their salary(figure) contributed in the VO's decision making. So i put mine hoping it will guide some persons. NOT TO BE ATTACKED BY YOU.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by stboff: 8:19am On Jun 03, 2015

His below 30, no monthly salary, tried to disgust the vo with his no N24m and signs of desperation. no social and economic tie.
That's some serious thing to say about someone you know nothing about.
Yes, it is true i may have raised their red flag but my intent was 100% true and i had no plans of remaining there.,

You speak of "desperation" ? my friend this is supposed to be a US "VISIT" VISA thread. Why take things so serious when you are just visiting for tourism or other NOT really important stuff ?. You are the one who is DESPERATE cos you write like everyone's life is dependent on this stuff.
My comments after my denial actually is meant to make other people relax and seek alternatives incase they are denied. A whole lot of people get denied. Some persons become depressed. Some might read my comments and be like, "yeah! let them eat dust" and carry on.
For the records, i wasn't at all rude in anyway to the VO. I was smiling and talking to her, i only answered questions she asked me and i didn't even bother explaining other things. I was just being obedient.
I went with contracts, supply receipts, purchase agreements and other documents related to my work. Including C of O of one of my personal property. I just did not want to interrupt her that's why i didn't divert to start explaining my documents and all those stuff.
The way she spoke, she was sounding like someone who's gonna approve until she asked the "Are you married question". Then she said unfortunately and the rest blah blah blah...

Is it my fault that i am not up to 30? Most of the things typed in my transcript were just for fun here on NL especially the things in bracket.
YES as at yesterday after the denial, while waiting at the airport, i was pained. I have never lost anything in my life trust me. When i meet people with proposals i get the deal sealed. For the first time i lost and that gave me a momentary depression.

Your comments are more like a personal attack. So dude, don't mention me if you've got anything to say. If you have a VISA already, i wish you the best of luck in the states and if you are yet to get yours, Just know you will get it considering your knowledge and POLITENESS. Just go there, shine all your 32 and laugh even when nothing is amusing.

Sorry to read about your refusal. Note that receiving a U.S. Visa is a very straight forward situation and also never try to impress a CO even if you have a billion naira in your account it can be irritating and lead to refusal something you did judging from your interview transcript.

Also, I discovered that you never gave a cogent reason for your visit to the States. That response to the CO was very vague to say the least.

Your past trip to Brazil is enough reason to get a visa for a similar visit to Miami which you blew skywards.

And your response to your Job function was contradictory (a good enough reason to refuse your application)

You have a son, not yet married, and no evidence to show any commitment to your supposed family is another good reason to refuse your application. In future, take your little child for any planned trip abroad.

Finally, get your acts together and build a reasonable tie to Nigeria. Go get married and do not attempt to remove that part where you entered importation of cars. The CO has already noted that flag in your profile. In future, be silent about this during interview.

Enjoy your day.
Thanks bro.
But really for anyone genuinely travelling for tourism purpose The USA shouldn't be allowed to play God in everything.
Thing is i didn't really like the way people were standing just to get a visa and the conversations were not private. That's not cool.
Like i said before, the USA can eat dust. There are other countries i can go and have fun and i won't even miss the US. I know majority of peeps in here just wanna go the d US for greener pasture. For me am going to the US to add my little kobos to their economy. (Pure tourism). so na both of us loose.
In about a week or two time i will post pictures of myself in a holiday place. I must enjoy myself irrespective of what d yankees feel.
To all those that will be approved, congrats in advance. For all those that will be wrongly rejected. Just locate another place n go have ur fun. Come back home and hustle on. Them no reach.
Goodnight ya'all.

Chloe7..you nailed it...i think what you fill and who you answer goes a long way to point whetheryou will be given visa or not...like you said being too elaborate in filling the form and also answering the questions might just be the denial button...again like stboff also observed i may want to agree with him that this VO's pre- approve your visa via what they have read from your application and wait for you to confirm their judgement...stboff..don't stop trying..first time denial is not permanent denial

Chloe7..i believe this time around you will get your visa...mine is still 6 days after yours 16th..lets pray for a favorable response.Meanwhile,my friends wife who has never traveled to even Ghana before and just got her passport Dec 2014 was given a 2yrs visa ..she applied for vacation with her 2 yrs baby with exclusion of her husband who is a petty trade while she works with a bank(3yrs).So its not mostly about travel history na dem know.
Their decision making is so random it's hard to even advice someone. Another point is, if you are YOUNG and you don't work to receive monthly salary, it's always difficult.
Am applying for Australia now. I am not gonna lie about anything. I won't dash the funds in my account to beggars cos i want a Visa. If them gimme good for both of us, if them refuse, bad for both of us. The only pain in the USA thing is it took too long for the apointment date. Two whole months.
I will be applying to different countries concurrently. Yea, that Seychelles looks a good option, but i know it will only make sense if you travel with a good companion. So ammon look for me a Gooooooood companion to Seychelles.(Checked some of their places of interests online and it looks too romantic for a single's trip).
Still at the airport Abuja to fly back south. When i get home, i may forget this thread. Chloe i wish you the best of luck. You have been helpful to a lot of people here.

Thanks.

Stboff see why transcripts are good.
1. Car importation- No No! I think its cos its a common avenue for smuggling drugs
2. Cuba- the flag raised is so red e don turn to amber flag. Cuba is not a location often visited and is a drug zone. Combine that with your 23m inflow and outflow equals drug lord.
If there is a lesson I learnt, its to keep your bank statement embassy ready at all times.
Finally I agree the visa is preauthorised. Somebody mentioned canada-dont borra! That one hard pass coconut. My advice? Visit countries of low visa reasistance, avoid red flag countries, register your legit business, and run a moderate account. 23m is a huge sum of money for pete's sake!
Cheers!
Thanks, but i have never been to Cuba. I only went to Brazil for the world cup. And i enjoyed it. I got lucky too, they showed me on live TV during the NG vs IRAN match, (hehehe)..
That Brazil trip is the only time i have been outside Nigeria. I only travel when/where there is something to enjoy. I am not a fan of tall buildings. Work, friends and family is very good here in Nigeria. But the place sometimes gets boring especially when you live in the small town i live down here in the South.
Why do i get this feeling someone who knows me will read this thread and just know it's me? Can i modify my posts after about a month ?

Stboff please can you post a full transcript of your interview? Plus I don't think you should just give up on your application to the u.s embassy just like that, if you had come here before hand it would have helped a great deal, you came to the thread last minute, and again the uk embassy is a no go area for you because you can't prove your source of income, the uk embassy takes company registration, vat and tax personal and they use it as a major reason for denial same as E.U countries, the only country you could scale through is the USA embassy and you didn't scale through so it will be pretty difficult for you to get a visa and as soon as you register the business you can't just carry your documents to go and apply straight because the business is seemed to be a new one.
Thanks Chloe, wish i can remember most of the conversation. Perhaps it may help other people, but truth is people who really didn't answer well got their VISA. I have this believe they pre-approve people before the interview itself.

VO: Greetings...
ME: Responded. then showed her my passport as per her request.
VO: What are you going to the USA for ?
ME: For Vacation.
VO: Where in the USA are you going?
ME: Miami, Florida.
VO: Why Miami?
ME: I'd be staying in Miami Beach. I love the setting.
VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before ?
ME: Yes, Brazil. for the worldcup.
VO: What Cities in Brazil did you visit ? (Now i was like, of what relevance is this? just open the damn passport.. lol)
ME: Sao Paulo, Rio De Jeniro, Cuiba, Curitiba, Brasilia.
VO: What do you do ?
ME: I am an Engineer.
VO: What Engineer ?
ME: Petroleum Engineer, but i am into Real Estate. I design, build and resell.
VO: How much do you earn in a month,
ME: I can't tell per month, but i can give you an annual average.
VO: Okay, go on.
ME: About 20 - 25 Mil.
VO: Can i see your bank account statement ?
ME: (At this time i was happy i've killed it cos my banking activities plus balance(23mil) confirms my story).
VO: Are you married ?
ME: No, but i've got a son.
VO: Unfortunately, we are sorry blah blah blah, blah blah blah.
ME: Oya, gimme my passport make i go first find food chop first. I didn't eat b4 going to d interview and 8:30 turned 10:30.

Ofcourse i didn't say the last line.......

If i decide to go back to Brazil(Sin city) i don't think i will come back the same. The kind of THINGS they have there is just tooooooooooo hmmmmmmm......
I've got friends and family scattered around Europe. Can i get an invitation ? if i put myself as the sponsor, will income source pose another problem? thing is i have documents showing my business transactions including buying and selling of properties.
The only thing is i don't yet have a registered company. But this is naija na, who registers a company to have a property link, look for buyers and get a commission? Well, i wasn't anticipating the short burst of success tho.

Thanks Chloe, what's your own story. Got a VISA yourself or searching for? This thread is 222 pages. Perhaps you would have mentioned your story previously, i just haven't read.

NB: Quoting figures is not a case of show or stupidity it's cos i am completely anonymous. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE. Oh lest i forget, i did mention in my ONLINE FORM that i will be importing vehicles from the USA too.

Thanks all.

Alright folks, i guess you guys were right.
I got DENIED.
I was full of confidence in my interview, but the lady just typed and denied me VISA.
No biggie tho, i've got some other countries to try. I really need a vacation. Any good location people ?
The USA can eat dust, i don't see how/why not being married/young should be a major criteria for denial. They are the reason people go about faking documents, pictures and fake seminars and conferences. When you go genuinely they don't listen.

Anyone with Australia experience ? The UK would be another option but to me that place is as dull as a grave-yard until the English premierleague starts.
How about Europe ? do they honour visitor visas easily? plus can i use one EU visa to tour Europe ? Any advice will be appreciated inclusive of the time it takes to process VISA. I am only free to travel this JUNE/JULY/AUGUST/SEPTEMBER.

Thanks.

The oil which destroys their land and disrupt their source of livelihood to fund the buildings and infrastructures in Lagos is for "EVERYBODY in NIGERIA"
But the infrastructures and ports built in LAGOS with the oil money from the South is NOT for everybody.

stboff you ought to register your business because how are you able to prove everything you are saying without proof of ownership of the business and since that is your major source of income, depending on the v.o you will meet he might ask for work strength, company account statement and personal savings, it means you can't even near the uk embassy at all because they apply the subjective test while the u.s embassy uses the objective test and in some cases subjective
Part of reasons i am going to the states is to see how i can start importing vehicle parts/vehicles from there. I recently bought a commercial property i would love to establish my business in. I have applied for company registration but it isn't out yet.
Is is not possible to convince them via my bank account statement? perhaps if they see the kind of credit/debit transactions that should convince them of my industry and my financial buoyancy here in Nigeria.
I heard they don't even look at people's bank accounts. Is this true ?
I am still trying to read through most people's transcripts. I am yet to find a single person. Almost everyone that has been granted are married.

Dear Experienced Travellers,
Here's my story and i hope it's not too long and boring. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME APPLYING FOR A VISA MYSELF.

My apointment is this week,
I have only EVER been to Brazil(2014) for the world cup. I spent about 3 weeks.
I am an Engineering Graduate. I am 27years old.
I am NOT married, but i have a son. (3 years old)
I am into real estate. I build houses, sell them and i also build for clients.
I have lots of landed properties, houses and plots.
In my account statement i printed on Thursday, my account balance in one of my banks is about N24 million.
I have booked a four star hotel in Miami beach. (I am actually going to Miami to spend about one month).
I have documents of some of my properties.
I travelled at about this time last year too. When work is slow.

Can anybody advise my chances ? Being that i am not married and i do not receive salary. My business is not even registered. I work as a sole trader. My bank statement for the past years clearly shows payments for supplies and payment of wages to my workers as well.

Abeg somebody should please advise.

NOTE: I am only able to state these figures my Nairaland ID is new. I created a new one solely for this purpose.

THANKS PEOPLE..
