nobleemy2: Hey peeps.. I got a call from a man in abuja about a certain NIS Executive recruitment process. He said he was from d office of a member of d house of assembly. He asked me 2 send my credentials 2 an email address. After sending my credentials I got a txt msg from a seemingly NIS txt generating machine(CDFIPBS-NIS) telling me dat I had been shortlisted into d NIS with a ref number. D txt asked me 2 contact a certain zone E area officer who asked me 2 snd my name n state of origin n d ref number to him. He said I wld get my appointment letter d nxt day via email n on getting it,I'm 2 pay a certain stipend of #43800 to cover d cost of boycutting d screening exercise, interview, CBT n d physical test b4 reporting 4 trainning. D truth is dat I don't know any Hon Member, I didn't even apply 4 d NIS ish, it was my cuzin who applied on my behalf. I've not been contacted until now,So I'm asking u guys what do u think I shld do. Shld I pay or not. Is it a scam or not. U shuldnt even be asking dz bt if u wanna learn a lesson...PAY |

It is quite alarming that some people think in a shabby way, u harbour the thought that people that got shortlisted bribed their way through it; WHAT IF U R WRONG?. I bet some of u expected the whole 700k people 2 be given appointment (what a poor sense of reasoning). B4 u registered u should have known that some will definitely fall short 4 one reason or the other. NOTHING IS FAIR IN LIFE, EVEN LIFE ITSELF IS NOT FAIR, u can't always have it ur way; u win some and u loss some. I wish those shorlisted luck and those not shortlisted luck as well as they will always get opportunities 4 other things. Stop the whining and prepare 4 better days ahead.
NB: only sensible responses pls, I'm tired of some people's bullshit. |

Going by wats on net pertaining to upper case and lower case names Some page carry 9 some 6 and some 8 upper case names , getting the average is like almost 8. 8*997 =7976 Now this made me remember wat an immigration officer told me last week that Nis needs 6000 junior staff post to be filled and he wasn't sure of senior officer i.e o8.
Am not saying the upper case names is sure fir appointment but it's something to still b worried about but am leaving everything in the hand of baba God right now because I can not come and go and kill myself jawe because of Nis There is 247 pages. |

LilyLuvSrk: i'm an Ebonyian. just logging in now, after 2days without battery. I wasn't wit my phone yesterday. We all went to the parade ground to do some warm up exercise & sing some moral song like what we sang in camp. Some soldiers were there. It was jst lyk NYSC all over again. Then we were given numbers on how to confront the panal for our oral interview. I left the Nis building after 9 in the night after my interview. They were very slow & went for lot's of break. It was really strenous waiting to be called since d 7:00 am to 9:15pm. Some people were yet to do their interview & verification. If your documents are not complete or authentic you're disqualified. I produced my scanned medical report, it ws okayed. I thank God for that. When going, for d females do not put loop earring or bands, necklace or too much make up. Pack ur hair in a bun. Do not allow it to exceed ur neck. Males no beard pls. Barb it if u have. When entering camp, we're told d boys won't hve hair on thier head. D females no makeup or jewelry. If u did any crazy style please loose it. Some areas could be strict & might jst disqualify u. I pray to God I get an alert to start training. Another thing, they are really strict about the height. If they find many applicants with reccomended height, you might be put to the bottom list. I surprised to find my height as 1.74(you will checked bfore facing the panel) & filled 1.68 as my height in application form. I'm really tall for a lady! The interview, you just have to be yourself & talk with confidence without fidgeting. When youare asked ur name, call out your name very loud & stand erect. Answer or attempt all questions thrown at you even if you have no idea. There is nothing like i don't knw. And make sure you pray. Know a bit about Nis & some other current affairs. Even if you don't know the answer, attempt to say something. They want to see if you have a good command of your voice. Thank u very much. I just got 2 ebonyi nw from lagos, ur info is very helpful. Do u stay in town? |

KillerBeauty: Update from benin I got to the venue on time(7.00am) those that came late(like 9.00am) were asked to do frog jump. They collected a photocopy of our invite we printed from our mail. Then the soldiers marched us to NABTEB office very close to NIS state command. When we got their( we went in batches) we sat in a hall and they gave us a form to fill our names(a very detailed form containing all their requirement and boxes to tick). Our height were taken and our feet where checked 4 flat foot. Males chest were also measured. Some of our credentials were checked. After that we filled to another building were the board of interviewers were seated. While there all your credentials will be checked in details and question will be asked. Questions like who is d minister of interior, speaker of national assembly, hw is ur course of study relevant to immigration. Are u pregnant , or married. Why do u want to join NIS, ur state and LGA of origin etc. Height might be checked again. And that's all. Thanks Thanks for the info. Can one leave the state after the interview cuz I'll like 2 be back in lagos immediately. Was there a case for beard? Wanna knw if I'll have 2 shave completely....tanx |

Music/Radio › Re: Sunny Ade Vs Ebenezer Obey: Who Do You Prefer? by stedox: 8:56pm On Apr 13, 2013 |
Tony Spike: My Kenyan friend heard Ebenezer Obey's song, "Mo f'oro mi le e lowo", just ONCE and he started begging for it. I think Obey's music is more African in beat and rhythm, it captures the soul of African music of his time and even in these modern days. It appeals to Africans who love the excessive use of traditional drums and guitars, irrespective of the inherent language barrier. Sunny Ade, on the other hand, "adjusted" his music to suite international appeal with the use of techno and pop beats. To me, Sunny Ade is a somewhat a traitor to "proper" Yoruba and African music. He adjusted his music to conform to international (actually American and Eurocentric) appeal, no wonder he is known. On the philosophical and logical flow of music story, Obey beats Sunny hands down. Generally, Sunny is mainly a praise singer while Obey is a story teller... when u talk about diversity, its sunny not som1 dat sits in a corner of his rum dat does d same tin, d same way ova and ova again. Dere's no crime in takin d yoruba culture 2 d limelight |
