I believe we are on a military discussion thread. So I would say you know one or two things about bullets and their classifications.
From mear looking at the spent rounds recovered that day. Do they look like non lethal rounds?
I actually saw blanks and spent live rounds, look there are so many inclusions in the toll story, till there are joint or independent analysis of the scene, we can only speculate..... but I don't think the motive was to kill. The easiest anyone can do, is to go check for actual bullet sized holes and possibly grouping , that will tell a lot , another thing to look out for, what direction was most of the bullet holes, tells a lot about motive too |

The sweep line of the shooters. Where did it start from, towards or away from the Toll gate. Task your brain critically, the answer is there. |

Faithful007: leave all this govt media. Go and watch CNN, aljazeera and see videos of what happened, at this stage, foreign media is more accurate than our own media. No one wants to be arrested. I'm not saying shooting didn't happen, but were they shooting blanks? Or less than lethal rounds( though still capable of killing). Was the motive to kill or scare away? |

The sweep line of the shooters, did it start towards the Toll gate or from the toll gate that you're expecting bullet holes there Stop nagging like a woman , read what I wrote, if there are phrases you don't understand consult Google, use your brain and draw a mental picture, as you get more information improve the mental picture, that's why you are educated. If it were a steel core bullet that his him, he won't die by blunt force trauma. |

kabe1: Lekki Massacre: 48 Hours After, Dead Bodies Still ‘Invisible’-PRNigeria Investigation
48 hours after it was reported that soldiers deployed by the Nigerian Army allegedly shot and killed innocent #EndSARS agitators in Lekki, a suburb in Lagos State, PRNigeria‘s investigation still could not identify even a single victim of the massacre who died during the incident.
Some social media reports have claimed that in the Lekki area of the state, armed soldiers, on Tuesday, allegedly shot sporadically at some #EndSARS protesters, killing dozens of persons in the process.
Many protesters, according to the reports, were said to have sustained bullet wounds as a result of the attack that suddenly came just after the billboard on the tollgate and the streetlights around the premises were switched off.
However, PRNigeria reported that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the State Governor, yesterday said no death was recorded in Tuesday night attack in the Lekki toll gate area of the State.
He confirmed the development in a live broadcast Wednesday morning, saying two critically wounded victims had been operated on and were in stable condition while others with “mild to moderate” cases are still receiving treatments at various hospitals in the area.
Sanwo-Olu, who admitted that soldiers opened fire during the #EndSARS protest at the Lekki toll gate area in a bid to disperse them, said he engaged the leadership of the Nigerian Army on the development.
Many of the people reported to have been killed in the Lekki Protest have since came out to debunk such reports.
A Nollywood movie star Eniola Badmus, who was allegedly shot in the stomach and died at the Lekki Toll Gate has denied the social media reports. Posting on her Instagram, Eniola wrote “Against all speculations about me being shot or dead at the unspeakable incident that happened at the toll gate a few hours ago, I would like to inform you guys that I Eniola Badmus is hale and hearty. I couldn’t make it there today to lend my voice on the #endsars movement.” (https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/eniola-badmus-says-reports-of-her-being-shot-at-lekki-tollgate-are-false/yebpl6b)
A photo of a man carrying a dead lady wrapped in Nigerian flag as posted by Yemi Alade was an image from a movie acted with a theme, “Heal our land, OH LORD!” https://www.trendsmap.com/twitter/tweet/1318864211037048832
A young man, Iraoya Godwin, a native of Otuo-Auchi, Edo state who was reported to have been killed also at the Lekki Toll Gate has posted a video on twitter denying the report.
There is a trending video of corpse of Comrade Anthony Okechukwu, a former student of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike Abia State. It is discovered that the young man died in a road accident and not at the Lekki Gate. https://www.facebook.com/abigailyong.za
There was also a video of one Lucy Adu who was celebrated as martyr at LekkiMasacre after dancing in the clip. Some of the social media posts celebrating her ‘martyrdom’ read: ”She was dancing an hour before she was murdered by the Nigerian armed forces Lucy was her name Pensive face#endsars – a bullet hit her in the face and ripped half her face off.”
Latest investigation shows that Lucia Adu died from an accident with a stationary truck on 20th October 2020. Her death was not from a gunshot by anyone. This is also confirmed by a new fact-checking twitter handle on EndSARS https://twitter.com/EndSARSFctCheck
Meanwhile, PRNigeria Editorial team could not get authenticated footages of the bullet-ridden bodies from the alleged LekkiMassacre from credible media sources and EndSARS activists. Yet, two days after the alleged LekkiMassacre, no single family member has reported to security agencies or the media of the death of their loved ones in the incident.
Checks by PRNigeria revealed that not even a single protester allegedly killed during the Lekki incident was reported, even as no single corpse of the massacred protesters was taken to any hospital in the state, as of Wednesday night.
The Assistant Editor, PRNigeria, Mahmood Abdulsalam said “So far, most of the footages we have collected, over 100 in all, showing dead protesters and several others wounded, when we subject them to our reverse imagery testing tools, indicated they are not recent while others are manipulated images and doctored videos. We also observe circulations of old pictures of victims injured and killed during violent skirmishes, unrelated to the #EndSARS demonstrations, across the country.” The only verified death at the tailgate, died from blunt force trauma, to the head.....could the attackers have been shooting less than lethal rounds? Are there bullet holes in the structures at the tailgate? |

SerikinGamo: I put this to you and iboboyswag, what is the relevance of what you guys are saying? How else should people react to the current happenings? Honest question By being realistic, by finding out the root of the shooting and asking why the protesters stayed when they knew, police stations were been burnt and looted of their weapons, why didn't they obey the simple directive of curfew, when it had a stronger merit than the protest at that particular time. Truth is the army was wrong, if it was the army and the protesters were wrong too, looking at the bigger picture of events in the state, yesterday and continuing today. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Stephandesward: 4:42pm On Oct 21, 2020 |
iboboyswag: It is and the one about the National Anthem too but it didn't stop people from letting it go viral enough for some to believe it.
That belief was what kept many at the spot that night. Singing the National Anthem and waving Flags in the face of obvious danger. Recall, many of the main agitators weren't present at the protest venue because most had read the writing on the wall and left. Some had even called for caution but you know how it goes... The gyration, false confidence(the success of Edo state defying) and the idea that even if the army is called in, waving flags and singing the national anthem would cause them to retreat.
The handwriting of what happened that night had been on the wall for a while but the spirit of aluta did not allow many to see or even consider it as real.
These people didn't have to die! A little tact, a little wit, and we would still have continued the fight on our terms.
Enough of the brute force, false propaganda and carnage. This is the time for us to think better and re-strategize. How fully grown men, can't understand this point, baffles me...... and they keep acting emotional like their candy was taken from them, those people made a conscious decision, understanding the possible outcome, reality isn't American film, wake up. |

SerikinGamo: You want to apply logic? Who authorized the removal of cctv cameras from the toll gate? Who turned off the lights that were always on? Why did NACA and NAMA prevent private citizens with helicopters from flying those choppers to help the protesters? Did you see CaptainStephen's post above? He is a captain of the NA and even he did not defend the actions Did you anywhere see me defending the attackers, I'm pained more than you all, I'm infuriated, I'm even wondering why the officer that led the team, if it's the army...didn't sign for tear gas. I personally wouldn't obey the order to shot into a peaceful protest. It doesn't still change the fact, that based on happenings in the state, and killing of policemen and so on, the protesters should have just stayed away, what point were they trying to make? |

Hundreds of eye witness are telling you it’s the military killing peaceful protesters sitting peacefully and waving the Nigerian flag while singing the national anthem, there’s even a clear as day video of the men in uniform shooting sporadically at the site of this massacre, yet you need more videos to observe the mannerism of these cowards before you can make a conclusion? Toju200: this is the confusing part many people are saying it's not the military many are saying it's them.. Well day don break we go know Let's try to be logical, and put emotions away, with the breakdown of law and order across the state, protesters ought to have reasonably stayed away, that's the civic thing to do after the governors call for lockdown and the common sense behind it, to prevent hoodlums from taking over. Truthfully unless we have more video and observe the mannerisms or the shooters, we can't really say if it's the army. If you don't have sense and you just pumped up with emotions, I don't care for you. |

The soldiers fired directly at the crowd.
This country must burn, I hope majority of the people feel the way I do.
This country is just so useless.
I hope ISWAP and Boko Haram will show this useless military personnel hell in the north east.
Foolish people that are always gallant whenever they are facing armless civilians. When they see ISWAP or boko Haram, they will drop their weapons and flee. An army that has not been able to win any battle since 1999.
Even in Sierra Leone and Liberia, it was foreign military that did most of the job... What a useless military.
For over 8 years dey have been struggling against terrorist o.
I hope serious sanctions will be placed on our military, I am also ready to sign the petition. Could the shooters be dss or thugs given military uniform? I saw white hilux, does the military use white hilux? |

I dont know why you people assume military officers want people to know they are officers, I'm yet to see a regular officer, that will go about creating awareness he is an officer, those guys have learnt right from NDA to be discrete unless problem comes calling, forget the clowns blocking road.
About the guys saying cadets and officers maltreat people, it's a personal things, of recent in the news , a former minister of state, stripped his staffs naked, he was a civilian, same way I have met NDA officers that are cooler than civilians.
You all should shut up, about what you people don't know about, the military doesn't build robots, you would probably not last long in the military if you aren't smart, and want to be a robot.
Leave military issues for military, and go back the unauthorative guessing whatever most of you are. |

BabaOwen: Can you list 5 NATO countries that does this? Or just one country in North America
If is by all those things you mentioned, Boko haram or ISWAP shouldn't be overrunning Nigerian army base. A person that could go into a thick forest to sleep, even though he knows he can be attacked by a wild animal, shouldn't be scared of fighting to death against Boko haram. First of all, we aren't a NATO country, in the USA military, there's what is called "code red", which is very much archaic. Leave issues you know nothing about , the cadet didn't say he was unduly withdrawn, he wasn't up to standard and he was withdrawn. And this picture , isnt the only one of foreign countries planting head, well welcome to the Indian military.

Xbee007: Dude mentioned some archaic trainings like pin your head. How on earth does that benefit anyone? Other students were rusticated even after they have completed their services. It is pure wickedness. Do you know how many lives are lost each year in NDA because of these torture in the guise of training? Before he brought the issue here, I have heard it somewhere before. Some families are in fact suing NDA right now. I went to a military school, the commandant was my father's friend, we had a house in the state, sometimes he would go to my fathers house to sleep, they will drink together, they were very close, I resumed in the military school my mother told him to protect me, and he told her, they don't protect in the school, that whatever i go through, i would do it to others too,he had kids in the school, we all served job together, I started sitting on my head since I was 10 years old, started digging my height , and what all, after I left the school and went to a navy school, which is more or less a civilian school, the difference was clear, even others that transferred to the navy school, found that even the ss3 couldn't coordinate as well as the jss2s in our previous military school. People that have gone through the archaic training, will never tell you it's useless, other countries even outside Nigeria do it. Don't insult what you know nothing about, can the cadet say he has never punished cadets in this so called archaic punishments/ training. Based on my limited military experience, I can tell you it's worth it, at the age of 13 I had no fear , I could go into a thick jungle and sleep, I could live out of my environment. Leave the military to do military things, there is a reason why they call the academy the mad house. |

WaterPurifier: I need advise cos I'm just so confuse right now
My fiancee want me to come and see her family cos of pressure. She's been on my neck since last 2 months. That's not even the problem.
The problem is the funds I intend to use to go see my bae parents(travels expense , gift buying and Co.) is from my budgeted salary this month end.
I've started setting a new biz for mum since last month, and intend to complete the business with my salary this month.
Bae has been giving me attitude unlike before untill I come. To her it's as if I'm only playing her heart. But deep down in me I love her.
I'm very confuse right now...
Should I choose to set up my mom business or postpone?
Pls advice The truth is that for your girlfriend, to be too desperate, it's most likely she's seeing someone else or strong considering someone else, and feels if you see her family she would be mentally stronger to resist the other guy( mind you this mindset wouldn't work), I will advise you sort your mom first, especially if she has the potential to manage a business, after that, select a definitive date with your fiancee to go see her family. I will advise you to observe your fiancee, there's more to the picture, how is someone your fiancee and you haven't met her family, I don't know why you took that risk. |
