One of the things compounding safety issues for the police, is the way they handle relationship with the masses, the masses hate( I intentionally didn't use dislike) the police.
An average Nigerian has no problem watching the police been assaulted.
One of the ways to nip this this attacks that an intelligent person predict would soon spread to other regions I think stations were burnt in Lagos and Niger state, is for the police to immediately change their civilian-polce relationship. Be more active in their duty of protecting the masses, and prosecution of erring officers, they should stop acting like slave drivers.
These peace of advice(s) while good for the general masses, will help police personnel live longer .

Well, it is actually medically possible. Not validating the claims of the guy but it is very possible for bullet to penetrate the chest and exit at the back without injuring any important structure. It however depends on the exact location of the entry and that is where medical forensic experts should be called in to assess the wound.

Everything the guy says, shows he wasn't short by an ak47 at close range.....first of all, he was only talking about fracture, If an high powered round enters him, fracture would be the least of his worries, the ak 7.62×39 round has so much power, that it can pass through you, which is often a good thing, if it doesn't hit any organs , or blood vessels.
One thing a lot of people are over looking in the tool gate incident, most soldiers were sympathetic to protesters, even the SARS were bringing their stupidity to military personnel cooking guns at them, and asking people for identification and phone searches even at gun point.
Also, I saw a lot of gun shot wound pictures, but they were more consistent with local made shotgun rounds, that were under powered.
Considering how people are stupid, it is possible people brought these local guns to the venue and during firing panicked and mishandled their guns.
Hell i wouldn't even want to use a properly designed pistol in that scenario, because it would be useless, and even well aimed shoots wouldn't probably hit the targets, forget what movies show you, pistols are almost useless, unless in close quarters battle, now compare with the almost more useless local gun .

, I grew up here, was even baptised in this water it was much cleaner and not polluted then, there is a sailing club there too, i used to fish and swim across these waters.my elder brother used to sail wind powered boats and kayaks and used to bring medals home then.
I remember once when I was on break, the SBS would swim from their base to the sailing club, I remember an instructor telling them, that in case of mishap in water, they need need to be able to stay afloat for at least 2 hours, pending when assistance or rescue comes, those were among the first sets of SBS. I think it was during Niger delta crisis or beginning of boko haram issues then.
How time flies, then all that was in my head was how to pass out and be doing fine boy officer, kai, we have paid dues sha, I hope we have peace, so that we can live this fine boy officer life.
I remember having a conversation days back with a childhood friend, that's a naval officer and recently posted to the east, reminding him, to better lay low , and not start broadcasting he is an officer, remove all stickers or whatever from his car, and practically be a civilian once he steps out of the unit, because soon this ESN might start targeting individual security personnel, if check points and police stations become increasingly harder to hit and not rewarding in the number of weapons they cart off.
I hope we have peace, because only then can we truly reach our full potential.

I know the NAF have no serious allegiance with any country just like ashawos we will open up to any country that is ready to do business with us(A good policy), we will collect Aircrafts from US, Pakistan, Brazil, Russia etc and have a buffet of different varieties of atleast 4th Generation aircrafts in our inventories even though some of theses countries are arch rivals. I suspect the reason why they refused to allow cameras show the cockpit of the JF-17 might not be unconnected to the rivalry btw Pak & India.
All in all the NAF is really having it good, even the CAS is also rated on the JF-17 and even holds an instructor license on the bird, the moderator at the event even confirmed it that the CAS flew the aircraft when it arrived.

Go online Google jf17 cockpit, you would see plenty pictures, even f22 cockpit Is online.
Only 4 Nigerian pilots are rated on the jf17....the CAS is an alpha jet pilot, and even flew against boko haram. Jet your facts right.

The jf 17 we have is 4+ generation, to be declared a true 4.5 generation, it needs to be at least 4++, where by it has 5 generation avionics e.g su35, mig 35, f16 block 21, f15 silent eagle,proposed f21(proposed advanced f16 for india), the most recent gripen and a few others......our block 2 isn't 4.5, even the cockpit, shows it isn't 4.5

Dunno why most struggle to accept the facts even while staring you in the face. It is open source intelligence that the JF-17 block 11 is a 4+ generation aircraft. The ace NAF agile fighter pilot himself said it's a 4.5 cadre generation fighter jet and went on to reel out its specific performance capabilities he's permitted to divulge which is just too impressive that it leaves one speechless. It is a net-centric platform able to share active data with other aircrafts and ground elements. And the list goes on and on. Having this capability in Nigeria and Africa without strings attached is truly a pure sovereign purchase and a good buy. Trust the NAF to maximize its powerful potential.

I understand, but it has no radar reduction and no aesa radar....the block 3 is truly 4.5 generation......unless ours comes with whistles and bells, that are different from regular block 2. I was truly hoping there would he a chart to show avionics and weapons, like used to be done with the former CAS.

Im thinking short ranged infrared guided A2A missiles and and some long range BVR R-Darter missiles. Also, with targeting pods, its almost a certainty that we'll be getting GBU-10 and GBU-12.

Nice to hear that we having targeting pods, and the pilot said our jf17 is 4.5 generation capable fighter jet( hmmmm, this I'm not sure of), the capability to be upgraded to but not yet 4.5 to me.
Please who knows what weapons we are getting with the jet, to me that's the most important information at the moment.

Except you meant he used connections to go for a training meant for personnel below his rank.

During SBS selection and qualifications all officers and rating, are trained together irrespective of rank or rate, though the officers are pushed more than the ratings and all act as course mates, but as a rating in training you can try yourself and enjoy what might come later with heavy malice... Also there are courses you would do, that even non-commissioned personnel would lecture you, and you must be subordinate to them, during the duration of the course.

I have watched videos of Nigerian army troops being ambushed. I have also watched videos of American army/marine troops being ambushed.
There is one major clear difference.
*COORDINATION.
The latter have a more coordinated response. You can easily identify who is directing orders to reply Enemy fire. Some Nigerian Army videos show coordination. Especially videos from a source on twitter called G1abbakar.
We need to be coordinated.
I also watch an American Army(U. S AFRICOM) training/exercise with a Nigerian Army company. The U. S instructors kept stressing coordination. We weren't coordinated in offensive in the early stages of the exercise. We need to address and solve this problem

Truly war is chaos, probing attacks or just hit and run , wouldn't faze most officers, to get a real picture or an almost real picture watch "Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan" and the outpost....at least they tried to be realistic

Why to you think the USA uses , so much air power? And artillery? Where you see one 105mm piece or 2 at an Nigerian army location with unreliable air support......the USA probably have 20 155mm howitzer, overlapping coverage, then they probably have up to half a dozen fighter jets they can call in, that's available just for that location, probably equal number of Apache helicopters , super cobras, b52 bombers....how many alpha jets do we have for the whole north east, how many mi35or mi24, does the whole north east have available? You think we killing 20 hht, 40 bht, if we have the resources the USA had, bht, would be attacking the army bases? Yes we can do better, we pray for better wisdom for our policy makers.....but please don't compare Nigeria with USA, unless we have even half of their resources.
The USA military has more money than the whole of Nigeria, some USA companies are richer than the whole of Africa.
Don't expect the domestic cat that we are, to punch the same weight as a lion in the jungle.

It isn't a function of olodo, but limited resources....how many alpha jets does Nigeria have that they would put 6 in the air at once? Something tells me that most of our mi24 and mi35 are grounded, they would have been the best platforms for interdiction....but not with the s5 rockets they use.... instead a mix if s8 and s13 rockets would have been better.
And one way to know most military commentators just like regurgitating News and faking on my radar and Intel, is that they missed something very glaring.....the self propelled howitzer gotten from China sh1 and I can't remember the other name.....are not all 105mm, they are a mix of 105mm and 122mm, consult your pictures for confirmation.

They can codedly carry out their own isr and then do the needful when they are done.

All these piecemeal bombs we're dropping on terrorists have no major impact. They use advance tunnels to store their weapons and secure their personnels in bombing raid.

I have been saying this for long, our air strikes are against well spaced enemies, and the power of our bombs are too little to do any major damage, if we could have 6 alpha jets and 2 attack helicopters on interdiction, it would have been more better, thank God the jf17 are here, they have more payloads......even the bomb yield of our drones and super tucano are too little, but they make up for it, by been precise, so each bomb can actually hit something important, instead of the drop and pray.

NAF don't send their Pilots to go train in Russia, infact all ab-initio training is either done in Nigeria, and Southafrica, then advanced training in Europe, US or Nigeria depending on the aircraft type. As for all russian platforms in Nigeria NAF has capable instructors to teach their pilots advanced training on the Mi's and the training base is located in Makurdi.

How did the initial mi attack pilots learn to fly advance Russian helicopters, and use the latest Russian targeting systems.....that even Russian attack helicopters use?
