We reject this subtle move in its entirety. It's a sinister plot to undermine Christianity in Nigeria. I am interested in knowing the contents of the Religious Studies. How can you combine two religion in one subject. For example the Christian believe that Jesus was conceived through Mary by the power of the holy ghost, the Muslim believes he was born through the natural course, how would you merge this into one. CRK places more emphasis on Jesus as the Saviour of the world, IRK places emphasis on Mohammed. CRK encourages monogamy, while IRK gives allowance for polygamy, how on earth would you merge as one. There are thousands of difference between this two religious beliefs. There is an urgent need for the Church, especially prominent leaders and Christian associations like the PFN and CAN, to rise to the occasion and speak against this sinister move. Even if it would be accepted, the Curriculum of the Religious studies must be critical reviewed. we must ensure we don't send Christian Children to school and at the end of the day, they graduate as Muslims or atheist. |
First, Let's Thank God for your life because you have something to always give, in assisting your Mom. I don't think it would be fair to heap the whole blame of your Mom's generosity on her Pastors because giving is a good virtue, though from the way you sounded it appears She might be taking it beyond the limits. I would advise you to continue playing your role in assisting her regularly as you can Since God has also been faithful in the following areas. 1. Keeping her alive and in Good health. There are thousands of millionaires that might be willing to swipe positions with u. 2. The Funds were not spent in buying Caskets to burry you or any member of your Family. 3. There is an abundant supply of material resources in your Family, because it's only those that have a means can provide for themselves and help their aged parents. There are millions of Youths that are still living on their parents even after graduation. Having said that, I would suggest you do the following 1. Get the involvement of a senior family member/ trusted Mom's Friend or even an elderly Pastor to assist in advising her. 2. Its better you purchase those things that you think she might need than giving her cash. 3. Lastly, don't be discouraged in helping your Mom, because one day, You might be in her shoes and do things that your Children might not understand. The law of sowing and reading has never been broken since the World became. |
The President of this country must be mindful of the way he appoints and terminates people in top government positions. He must ensure such decisions are clearly based on merit and would not send signals of ethnic sentiments. |
