Food / Re: Mcdonalds In Nigeria: I'm Loving It! by Stepinout: 6:11am On Sep 06, 2011
Shud they come? I wish them well. But can we get a verifiable link?

the naija business terrain is not the easiest to operate in. When KFC was coming the same rumour went round about how they will come and take over the industry but what's happening today? they are serving a select few. High prices, limited and all high calories menu (they don't even fry with the healthy grand soya oil) the rice they manage to sell is not rice for the naija tastebud, its chinese rice.

Abeg am not tripped. Will go for my nigerian fast food. Mr Bigg's sells chicken that has not oil, oven baked/grilled. Their burgers have smaller portion of mayonnaise and has no cheese (but if you want some cheese, their chicken inn brand will give you that).

am not claiming they have none fatty food (which you can only get in veggie stores) but atleast, they give me a measure of confidence that am eating healthy.

Of course as with every fast food, once in a while you get bad products but the customer service line is active, responsive and very friendly. Called a McDonald's customer service line when I was in the UK and it kept me on hold for about 10mins whereas the day I ate a bone in a bigg's meatpie and called, they picked the call, took time to explain what may have gone wrong? invited me for a facility tour just to prove to me that they have strict standards and guess what? gave me a free meal voucher. They even called days after to find out how ma teeth was doing. lol

Its naija for life for me sha. any Nigerian fast food apart from chicken republic will do (their chicken is so tasteless and full of bad tasting groundnut oil)

I bow for una sha! Have you been to Mr Bigg's lately? I lost N2,000 to my kid sister when she told me I would not be able to identify a Mr Bigg's meal in a blind test. The meal I called Tasty Fried Chicken/Chicken republic turned our to be Mr Bigg's and it was the best.

The Jollof Rice had all the fireworks and tasted heavenly, even the chicken was something else, it was basted in pepper sauce.

Guys before you make your judgement, ask yourself the last time you have been to a Mr Bigg's outlet. I hear they are re-branding, all their packaging has changed, I couldn't throw away their burger clam box.

If you are looking for real meals, pls go for Mr bigg's but if you are looking for ambiance, you can stick with chicken republic, even tasty fried does not Have great ambiance in all their sites, but for me sha, it BIGGGGGGSSSSSSS all da way, their Hot dog and Burger cannot be compared to anyone else in the fast food category.

Please am hungry, I need to go for my Hot Dog, but Bigg's you have to BIGG UP O, please upgrade the restaurants and let people stop taking you for granted.
